Standard Station El Segundo Reviews
Had the ghost burger. Fire! Garlic parm fries were exceptional. Beer is extra crisp. You can tell they clean their lines regularly. I’ll keep this place in my rotation.
Great place to watch Sunday football games. The food is beyond delicious. Pub style burgers and chicken sandwich 😋🥪.. had a great welcoming time. Our service was beyond amazing. Impeccable. Our waiter was Rudy and he was great. Very attentive. Great attitude and was always asking if we were ok or need anything. I signed up to the loyalty program and we were having difficulty getting the 5 Dollar reward. He must of went 3 times back and forth to figure things out. Not his fault. Computer or owner error. But he got it done and with a smile. It was a very busy Sunday. A parade and football Sunday in December. Well definitely be back for the food and the service.
Did a quick search for a good burger and Standard Station did not disappoint! The Smokehouse burger was beyond tasty and the Nashville Buttermilk Fried chicken didn't have a chance! No matter who your team is you will find a fan to join you in celebrating the win! We will definitely come back next time we are in town.
Lots of TVs. Indoor/outdoor seating. Good happy hour with good prices. Seems popular but is big enough to always have room.
Absolutely love this place! It’s everything you’d expect from a great local sports bar right in the heart of El Segundo. I’ve been here a few times, and the staff are usually friendly. Their happy hour is an amazing deal — Monday through Friday until 6 PM, with plenty of tasty items for just $7. And the HH food is really tasty (sliders highly recommended). Parking is usually easy to find, either in the nearby shopping mall or across the street, and there’s also free street parking around. Great value for money, fun atmosphere, and they even host events like karaoke nights (check their website for dates — usually Fridays). They have high top tables outside, with heathers if it's cold, as well as the usual seating options indoor.
Have to shout out our server, Alex, who was dealing with a large group of us during a super busy night and she just nailed it. Food was good for bar food (the fries were awesome), decent selection as well. Thank you, Alex for the great service and to Standard for a great night out.
The “Come As You Are” Locals Bar that you have been PRAYING FOR! The bar is filled with Sports TV on the upper corner wall-ceiling spaces with televisions. Great for watching sports, UFC and still being able to look across the bar and see friends as well. The design and atmosphere of the bar is welcoming and gives a “You are back in your hometown bar and friends da are there to meet you” type of vibe. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It does get chilly in these December Nights, so do bring a jacket for outdoor seating. Some outdoor heaters were on here patio but none where being used as I walked in. Going to the bar by myself, I found seating at an island table near the bar. The bartender came over to take my order. Suggesting to me that their more popular Indian Pale Ale was the Mayberry made by El Segundo Brewery. I ordered the Mayberry IPA from the bartender’s recommendation along with a n order of buffalo wings. The wings were amazing. Better than anything from Hooters, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pizza Hut or even Wing Zone. All of those locations also do not have any of the beers from local breweries such as El Segundo Brewery. When the check came, the total for one plate of wings, one IPA and one Pepsi, came to a total of $27.00 in total. Had to have the Pepsi as that I was driving and didn’t want to drive buzzed. To bring it all together, this is a great bar for Locals who are looking for the small town vibes, small town beer, small town food, and small town prices! This bar is a place that I would not recommend to tourists or people wanting a “Los Angeles Glam Bar” sort of experience. You will be disappointed. It also is more of a social bar. A meeting place. And a place to watch sports together with friends. And also be able to actually hear the person next to you. There is music at the bar but not loud and over bearing music.
I limped in here with my Mom and her 3 friends after Tuesday evening Pickleball as they had me sprinting all across that 44 x 20 slab of asphalt. This is their go to happy hour spot after whacking that little wiffle ball around for 2 hours, so I thought it’d be fun to tag along. As we entered, they said hi to their favorite server and said "just the usual please" before we even sat down. They really DO this ahahaha. After sitting in a 4 person booth along with the "Moms Mafia," as they dub themselves, I began to take in my surroundings. Named after the Standard Oil Company (before it was renamed to Chevron in 1984), The Standard Station is the perfect mix of a divey sports bar, but without being too grungy. It is clean and well kept, but you can feel the character and just the overall soul of El Segundo in here. I love El Segundo so much, it reminds me exactly of what Manhattan Beach was 20+ years ago. Did you know El Segundo got its name because it was the site of the second Standard Oil refinery on the West Coast, when Standard Oil of California purchased the farmland in 1911? Because I didn't. Learn something everyday, damn... But I digress-- The happy hour menu is ELITE, as everything on there is $7 or less. Felt like I had warped space time reality to travel back to 2008 with this pricing. We opted to get nachos, popcorn shrimp, and the tots. The food was solid for sports bar food, slightly better than what you would expect...AMPLE portion size though you gotta LOVE that. I ended up walking into an ambush with the Moms Mafia, as they began to pepper me with questions about my new girlfriend. As I was alternating between bites of chicken nachos and popcorn shrimp I would have to answer everything from "So what does she do for fun?" to "Can we see some more pictures this is just one?" to "So when did you know that you LIKE like her"........ but it's okay cuz tbh I'm kinda smitten and like talking about it hehehehehe. All in all, I loved this place like I love El Segundo. So much soul, so much character. Ideal place to watch a game, to post up on a Saturday/Sunday and watch football, or to come after a good Pickleball sweat with the Moms Mafia. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__
Checked out The Standard recently. It’s a decent spot if you’re already there for drinks, but the food didn’t quite live up to the presentation. We tried the meatballs and steak sliders, which were alright, but nothing I’d go out of my way to order again. The tater tots and fried shrimp were standard pub fare—crispy enough, but fairly basic. Everything was edible and the service was fine, but it felt a bit heavy and lacked any "wow" factor. It's a "one and done" kind of place for me food-wise, though it's a perfectly fine atmosphere for a casual beer.
Nice sports bar. Great selection of beers. Lots of sport on TV. Visited at around 2pm with my kids who really enjoyed the smoothies.
Good food, great atmosphere, decent service, it was very busy, so I understand the server was running around, I believe they probably need more staff for how busy it was. The food came out very quick and was appetizing, I enjoyed it and I will most likely be back when I am in the area again.
We visited Standard Station Sports Bar and Grill expecting a good night out with food, drinks, and decent service. Instead, we got an unprofessional and frankly rude experience, all thanks to Jane—the bartender and so-called “acting manager.” We placed an order and received our food and a pitcher of beer, but that was the end of any service. No one ever came back to check on us. No refills. No follow-up. We were completely ignored for the rest of our visit while other tables around us got regular attention. When I finally asked to speak with a manager, Jane came over—not a server or someone passing the buck, but the actual manager—and hit me with, “What is it that you are looking for?” in the most condescending tone possible. I wasn’t asking for a handout. I just wanted someone to acknowledge that the service had been nonexistent. And to top it off? Jane actually said, “If you’re looking for special service, maybe you should try another bar nearby.” Seriously? That’s the kind of dismissive attitude management gives to paying customers? It’s clear this place doesn’t care about customer satisfaction, and if the manager acts like this, it’s no wonder the staff follows suit. We left regretting every dollar spent. Do yourself a favor—skip this place entirely and go somewhere that values people.
We’ve been ordering food from this restaurant for over two years. I will give the food 5 stars. We always get it to go. I decided to bring my daughter there to dine in. First as we sat down. The waiter acknowledged us, but forgot about us. Even as far as to come to the table next to us without looking our way. After ten minutes had past the server brought the menus. Told him that we would only need a minute after this he came back to the table next us again and forgot about us. Additionally took long enough for us to try and get anyone’s attention so we could place the order. My boyfriend is white and the server only spoke with him. No eye contact to my daughter or I. I personally feel discriminated against coming here. Completely changed my appetite. After the food came politely asked for to go boxes. The server again seemed to take a disliking has he didn’t bring enough boxes for how much food was obviously on the table. Still only keeping eye contact with my boyfriend. Please mind that it was not a busy day by any means. Because of this I will not be dining in there again Notes: the energy I felt from the server was really bad. No welcoming greeting in any interaction.
