Guayaco's Elmhurst Reviews
A Must-Stop Slice in Elmhurst! We love finding local spots when we travel, and of course when you come to NYC you have to get a slice. I’m so glad we chose Louie’s Pizza in Elmhurst! Louie himself was behind the counter, and he could not have been more friendly. He chatted with us in between taking orders, and his whole staff was just as welcoming. The restaurant is small, clean, and has that cozy neighborhood feel we love. And the food… AMAZING! We tried pepperoni, margherita, the grandma slice, and buffalo, plus garlic knots and agnolotti. Every single thing was delicious! If you’re anywhere near Elmhurst, you should run (not walk!) to Louie’s to get your pizza. And Louie, if you see this — thank you for a wonderful dinner and such warm, friendly service. You made our NYC trip even better! 🍕❤️
Louie! I hope you see this brother. My goodness I have been dreaming of that grandma slice. The best pizza I've ever had. Everything was great here. We showed up about 45 minutes before closing. We had a late flight, and Louie greeted us, took our order and made us feel welcome. This was a great introduction to NY pizza for me. Louie, you made us feel like we were at home at your shop. Thank you for your wonderful service and welcoming us to enjoy your food. I will be flying back to enjoy your pizza again. Unless your willing to mail me a whole pan of grandma slices ha ha. Thank you again. - Your customers from Texas.
last place we checked out before heading to the airport was this pizza place recommended by our airbnb host as some of the best pizza in the city and it definitely lived up to that title! we tried thecheese and buffalo slices which were both great, everything made fresh. the owner Louie is really friendly and makes every customer feel like family, its clear why this place is so popular.
My first trip to NYC and my buddy told to find a real Pizzaria and this place is the real deal! Best bakes ziti ive ever had, pizza was off the charts and the ribeye looked delicious! I wish he was open Sunday and i'd swing by to take some ziti home!
Ordered the Grandmas Sicilian pizza which was thick, fluffy, and delicious flavor, was almost like focaccia bread consistency. The second was a sausage with onion pizza… this was great, thin and crispy. Would recommend to family and friends.
The Best slices of Hawaiian, cheese and pepperoni pizza I've ever had, NY pizza here is all the hype and this Location does NOT disappoint. I'm definitely coming here again if ever back in town. They're brother hood here with the chefs working to make fresh pizzas etc . Man this location is what it's about to be family friendly! The broccoli Pinwheel is freaking delicious with the sauce! Get the sauce...
THE best overall experience of any pizza place I've ever been in! The owner was so gracious and polite, he really put out a welcome vibe that made my daughter and I very excited to have chosen his pizzeria to have our dinner. My daughter chose classic pepperoni, while I chose the Grandma and we were both totally blown away!!! Absolutely the best pizza I've had, ever. I enjoyed it so much, I took four additional slices home. I was fortunate enough to spend a little bit of time speaking with the owner, Louie, and just left feeling like I had a great experience. I cannot recommend Louie's pizzeria enough!!! AAA+++
If you’re in Elmhurst, you have to stop here. This chicken slice was easily the best slice I ate all weekend in NYC, and that’s saying a lot because I ate pizza every day 😂🍕
Nice dark, garlicky sauce. Finally got to try after having on my list so long! 100% coming back, probably one of the best Sicilian pies in Queens
I’ve eaten at Louie’s more times than I can count, and it never disappoints. The food is reaallly good. Every bite just hits. Grandma slice 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 The owner’s a total gem—funny, down to earth, and always makes you feel like you belong there. It’s one of those spots that just gets it. IYKYK 😎
Finally found a great pizza place with no pork! Had grandma slice and it was really good. I usually left the crust but this one is very crunchy I ended up eating the whole thing. One specialty slice was $4.50. Best pizza around the hood, definitely will come back.
Short walk from the train. Bangin' food. Price is good. Dude that runs the place is super cool.
Best, most consistent grandma slice in Queens. Going to Louie's I can always expect a great slice and not only is it consistent but the flavor is unmatched for what I've found so far on Long Island. If I'm craving pizza I'm going to Louie's. This is one of those places where it doesn't need toppings to make the slice good, it's already very flavorful, but the toppings bring it to the next level. Their service is excellent and calling over the phone is quick, and efficient. My only gripe would be that the checkout area could use a bit more table space to place your box to add seasoning, but other than that, 10/10.
If you want authentic fresh homemade Italian with large portions at a very reasonable price, this is the place to go. Don't expect to get waited on. However, placing your order at the counter was easy. The seating is basic with diner like seating and a few tables but plenty of space adequate for a small family owned well run restaurant that does non-stop take-out as well. I had the linguine seafood, and it was awesome. A very large, filling bowl with homemade linguine pasta and plenty of seafood. A bargain at $15. We also ordered several other dishes (that were awesome) and a pizza as well. We ended up taking the pizza home it was so large. I highly recommend you try their food. I know it will become one of your New York favorites.
Louie’s was fantastic. Best buffalo slice I’ve had in a while. Buffalo Wings are fantastic. Pepperoni slice on point!!!
My favorite place to eat in NYC. High quality Italian at a great price. Friendly staff that takes care of their guests. 11/10.
Found this place on Google after reading lots of great reviews. Never been to New York so this was the first stop after flying in. Apparently the owner knew we were tourists by the wide eyed looks on our faces! 🤣Immediately he says “Where are you guys from?” Then after a brief conversation about the menu (all while he was helping other customers, cutting pizzas, making boxes, answering phones, taking payment, etc.) he convinced us to order a whole Grandma pizza. This man is a 5 star multi-tasker! We sat down and didn’t wait too long before it was hot and freshly ready. The first bite was scorching hot but we simply could not put it down! The flavor was exquisite! Crispy on bottom, soft on top, light and flavorful toppings. It looks so simple but the flavors packed a punch! We ended up ordering a couple more slices to try other things and all were amazingly delicious! Thanks for the great food! Props to the cooks and owner who keep this place hopping.
The food was phenomenal! The flavor is on point! Not too salty and not diluted with so many artificial flavors! The pizza is one of the best! Can compete with the more popular chains in the city! Hefty serving that will leave you extremely full! The owner was extremely kind, accommodating and extremely patient especially for new customers like us! The place feels like home to be honest! Definitely a gem!
I moved out of New York a couple years ago, Louie's has a lot of fond memories when I used to stop by with my mom. Right down the street, Louie's always manning the station and super easy to talk to. It's about as New York as it gets. I've tried Grandma Pies in 5 different states and 2 countries at this point and nothing compares. Portion sizes are also great too, glad but not surprised to see the place is doing well. I'll visit again some time! - Chris
$52 for 8 slices of pizza, garlic knots, pasta, and drinks. And the owner was absolutely amazing! He told us some good places to eat in the city, he was an absolutely amazing guy, and made great conversations with us. He seemed to connect with every person that came into his restaurant whether he knew them before or not. And not only was the service absolutely outstanding, but the food was BEYOND AMAZING! The grandma's pizza was to die for! The pepperoni pizza was one of the best I've ever had. I'm not sure what pasta he gave us, and I'm not sure what magic he put in it but it was phenomenal. I'm running out of synonyms for great to use for this place. If I EVER come back to NYC I will no questions asked come back! What the owner has built isn't just a building or a restaurant, it's something more. You can tell just by looking how much people love this place!
The Encebollado there is really good.
The ceviche was delicious! My encebollado de pescado had great flavor but the fish was a bit dry in the soup. I would try a different encebollado next time though and get ceviche again. Prices seemed reasonable and the service was friendly.
Excellent food. The best Ecuadorian food I've tasted in a long time. If you are from la costa and especially from Guayauil, you'll appreciate the taste.
I love coming here, the best encebollado I ever tried every time I came it’s even better I love this place
The food the best their ever is at queens, specially for Ecuadorian food, it is a must to stop by and have a bite, my favorite dish would be the chivo, it’s just perfect, 10/10 would come again!!
The workers were really nice and the food was amazing just how I liked it. The restaurant was super clean. I am definitely coming back to this restaurant.
My family and I had four completely different dishes. Each dish was amazing, plentiful, and well seasoned. Great attentive service. Will definitely come back
I’m Ecudorian and super picky about my Ecuadorian food because no one cooks like my mom BUT this restaurant reallly came close to my moms cooking. They were amazing!!! And perfect customer service I will be coming back for sure. Love them.
Ordered the lunch special, it was so delicious. The food was prepared very quickly. The place is very clean and very comfortable and right across from the hospital. I had the stew chicken with the rice and soup. I will go here more often.
Delicious food, tasty and well seasoned. I will try it a second time and try something different. I have the Bolon de Chicharron and the Ecebollado.2nd visit updated 11/1625. Horrible experience 😪 they had a steak special today that cost $40.00 it's was some kind of grilled beef (Beef unknown) cooked super well done. I had to dip it in the beans to rehydrate. Rice, beans and salad. 3 starts out of 10. My wife had a fish dish. 4 stars out of 10. We will be back one more time e in the future to try our original dish which was the Ecuadorian soup. I will keep you updated.
April 2025. Staff is nice, food is tasty and fresh, a bit pricey, but worth it. Seafood Cazuela is original, seco de chivo has all the legit condiments, carne asada comes with chimihurri toppings. Fully recommended. Just b aware that tips are already included on the bill, and they won't let you know that aA tactic used by many places.
I had the seco de gallina it was not as good as I expected it to be. I love chicken but the meat in this platter was not tasty at all, texture was too hard and portion was too little. My husband had the cebollado de pescado and there was not alot of onions and he had to pay for the rice though it should come with the dish. Overall not what we expected for the price.
Waitress is not aware of customers needs the waitress is not engage with the customer
4 pieces of fish in a big bowl of water for almost $30
