Dee Spot Emeryville Reviews
Incredible place. To leave the story untold I will admit that I witnessed the owner perform a act of sheer heroism. I visited with with Jersey people and ran into other Jersey people so it is safe to say the bagels are class. Great vegan fare.
Dee Perfect Spot. Friendly owner, simple and delicious menu, fresh pastries, chill vibe, workspace. Whether you just need a quick coffee, want a place to get some work done, or casual lunch, this place is it.
This spot is great! They serve a wide variety of items and they've got friendly staff. Pictured below is the new Golden State Warriors sandwich featuring Draymond's Greens, Steph's Curry, and some Jordan Bell-peppers. If you're in the area you've gotta check Dee Spot out.
6 of us were there this morning (1/1/2020) for a family brunch. Not crowded at all. Food and drinks were great. Will definitely come again.
A hidden gem with great food, well priced, and a friendly owner named Chan who might surprise you with his latte art. ✨

I am so confused by all the negative reviews. I walked in,and was kindly greeted by the owner almost immediately. He asked me if i wanted breakfast or lunch. I said breakfast, he recommended the breakfast sandwich on the Texas toast. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICHES IN THE EAST BAY. Yes, it's a bit greasy (like a good b-fast sandwich should be) but not too much to handle. I was blown away at the care he took in making it for me. The coffee was solid. The guy who runs this place really cares about his craft, don't know why all these people are hating. He makes juices from scratch in the mornings! Give this place a shot. It's really pretty good. It's not Farley's but it deserves to stick around. And don't trust anyone reviewing bagels on the west coast - if they're not going to bagel shops for their bagels, then they don't know anything... Try the Texas toast! Dee Spot is doing something different in a nice way.
I've only has the bacon, egg, and cheese and coffee, but for a local joint it's good. Definitely get their Cold Brew it's delicious and they put time into making it. Great notes and flavors. They are also always trying to experiment with new dishes and the menu, so you'll always see something new when you go in. Go here for a good vibe. On Uber Eats!
Everything bagel with lox is on point. Breakfast sandwich on Texas toast is what a breakfast sandwich should be - a little greasy, and a lot flavorful. It feels a bit like they might be struggling with some of the business closures in the neighborhood, and so are a bit understaffed and trying to reduce food waste by limiting how much they bake. I don’t mind, and I think it’s all the more reason to support this awesome little spot.
High quality ingredients. Friendly people. Awesome espresso. Awesome drip. Seriously, the best espresso I've tried in this neighborhood. Plus every season they have a free blind coffee tasting to let the community decide which local beans they'll use for that session. They're new and still figuring a few things out but they have a good thing going on, and I'm sure it will only get better from here.
I recently started a job nearby. I ordered this on doordash and absolutely loved it. They didn’t have an option for iced chai, only hot. But I put a note in asking it to be iced and they did. The bagel with banana and peanut butter was fantastic. Overall will order this more often.
Sandwiches come with a delicious salad. Spinach, pickled red onions, roma cherry tomatoes, sesame seeds, and an Asian dressing that tastes fantastic. It was honestly one of the best salads I've ever had. Refreshing change from the basic Romaine lettuce with Italian vinaigrette.
The bagels are amazing and there are a lot of vegan options for lunch, like stir fry. A nice place to sit outside and eat. Easily one of the best options in the area. And the owner is really friendly.
Great place. HUGE sandwich. Got the chicken pesto and it was basically two meals! Strong coffee. Like so many places in our industry, proper staffing is incredibly difficult to find, and then workers reap people’s confusion and anger over a problem the establishment has literally no control over. The guy at this cafe does pretty much everything by himself. If you are patient: you will be rewarded with an amazingly huge and tasty sandwich for not much money. If you are impatient… well, you should go work on you. Big shout out to all the independent cafes and restaurants in the Bay that are working hard through the tough times. (No, the pandemic certainly isn’t anywhere close to over for this industry. Please be kind.)

Great spot for a morning bagel if you're nearby. Edit 2: it's been a journey for Dee spot, but I recently went back and the bagels & coffee were better than ever. Hope they keep it up! Edit: unfortunately the quality has declined somewhat. Last time I went most of the bagels were under cooked, and many of the baked goods had flies on them. Cute spot and nice interior. I hope they can improve!

Usually, I would want to leave a helpful review that would help the business improve, but honestly they were so far off the mark that I don't think that I can be helpful. The mocha was watery drip with chocolate syrup. The chicken did not really have taste in the sandwich. The lox bagel was probably the best thing, but still pretty mid. They skimped on the cream cheese and smoked salmon. They advertise their award winning bagels, but I was really not impressed. Even an Einstein bagel from Costco tasted fresher and had better texture. This kinda felt like a meal made from leftover materials.
First time eating here, just wanted some food and caffeine before work. I had high hopes, I wanted to like this place, but sadly nothing did it for me. I ordered a bagel sandwich, and my avocado was mostly brown and old:( Also my "iced mocha" was just coffee water with some syrup and no ice, very watery:( the only reason I'm giving another star is because they replaced my bagel sandwich and drink. I got a cappuccino instead which also had a "watery" quality. I don't think they know how to do espresso here.
I live in the neighborhood and used to like coming here. The bagels used to be(edited in 2022, bagels were good last year) comparably good for the neighborhood. The service is usually slow, but the last two times I came I was ignored for a long time and walked home before ordering. Updating my review a year later and downgrading. I came back today july 15, 2022 and the place looked nicer, and the staff was more friendly. I ordered my bagel and it came out quick, the cashier told me he was giving me two bagels because they were “small”. I open the bag, both bagels are hard and barely any of them are edible. i can no longer state they have good bagels here, and I feel a little deceived.
Had a good sandwich there, but the negative is that front door is open and there are flies inside in the baked goods display, really needs to b a lid on it. Went there saturday at 0830 and there were only a handful of bagels avail. Some were being prepared but for a place boasting about their bagels need to have some in stock for breakfast. Was there the following monday at 0900 and there were only 10 bagels and most were very thin for a bagel and more flies, will find another bagel place

Not sure what happened in the last year but quality seems to have gone down. Paid $8 for a slice of bread, egg, and bacon :( Coffee from the large vat of beans/hot water is similarly priced and quality. Great place to hangout but maybe not for breakfast (Nope no veggies or dressing or sauce)

Went in for a bagel on a Sunday morning around 10:45a. One other order ahead of mine. Still waiting for said bagel now at 11:25. Not sure what’s going on but avoid!!! Not worth the hour long wait for a coffee hole in the wall!
