Summer Summer Thai Emeryville Reviews
A classy place with decadent Thai food. Summer summer has the ambiance of a ritzy restaurant with its large windows and moody lights. There is a proper bar here that doesn't simply serve Singha. The corn fritters were crunchy and delicious with not much spice to them. The roti and curry was delicious, though I would have liked more curry. The egg fried rice was easily the best I have had in my life. It was perfectly fried with grainy rice and well set eggs. The dessert rounded it up with sweet sticky rice and mango bits. Easily the best classy Thai restaurant in East Bay.
The decor and ambience is very inviting, and the food is excellent. Very friendly staff.
The Best Thai in town. I love everything on their menu, very fresh and reasonably priced. The ribeye dish is amazing. Their summer rolls are so delicious. I also love the easygoing vibe and the super friendly staff. A hidden gem.
This is one place I eat almost once a week. Being a vegetarian it's difficult sometimes to get good food but this place has very good vegetarian options particularly spicy fried rice, pineapple rice, veggie rolls, summer roles are to die for. Nice ambience, I mostly do takeout. Their red veggie Curry is also very good and good proportions. They also have a bar and variety of cocktails. Can go with friends or a date.
Lycheetini; Miang Kam; Ginger Sashimi Trio, Roti w/Green Curry; Drunken Noodle Dinner w/ Beef, Yum Apple Trout were all phenomenal.
You can have higher expectations at Thai restaurants with certain items on the menu, such as som tum (papaya salad) and Thai grilled meats with sticky rice. There is also a happy hour with a great selection of drinks and appetizers. Tare tare is highly recommended! Came here with a group of 8 and had a great time. Loved the pad see ew and sea bass. Service was a slow after drink orders but isn't a problem if you're the to catch up with folks. I had to call someone over to place an order after waiting for someone to take our order for 20 minutes, but at least food came pretty quick afterwards. Service was otherwise good. Pros: delicious Thai food, great happy hour Cons: street parking
Happy hour is 5 to 7, cheaper apps and drinks. Delicious food, very good prices. I love that there was a curry sampler entree with all three major curries (yellow, red, green)! Usually I don't get to try all three. The curries had plenty of meat (or tofu) and rich sauces that were flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. It won't be too much for most people at the base level - if you want way more kick, I would ask. We also got corn fritters. Delicious and crispy, plenty of them especially at happy hour prices. and we got a Summer Roll - similar to a veggie spring roll but with avocado. Plenty of comfortable seating - I was super surprised to see so few people there. Staff was very friendly and helpful - they moved a nearby table together with our table once we got too much food, which is quite unusual. We didn't even ask them or anything. They were very understanding. The food also had beautiful presentation; hopefully you can see the pictures. I love this place and am definitely coming back. Hopefully I will have room for dessert next time. 😋 Update: I made a subsequent take-home order and got the mango sticky rice!! 🥭 🍚 It was delicious.
My go-to place for Thai food in the area. From dining in to take out and delivery, I've enjoyed every dish I've tried. The best value and variety, in my opinion, is the curry à trois. The Khao Soi is also delicious and worth a try for a traditional Northern Thai dish.
An all time favorite for Thai. Everything we’ve ever ordered has been delicious. My favorites are the Roti with green curry, gingerly ginger, and the salmon bowl. For drinks the lychee martini and ginger martini are delicious. The portions are generous and there’s never a wait to be seated. Service can be a tad slow but they’re very friendly.
Always love visiting this restaurant when in emeryville. I love their fried fish dish. The sides are also fantastic
I ordered take out, Pad Thai (chicken) and Drunken noodles (chicken). Really good food, freshly cooked. You have to ask for the sauces, they do not automatically include it in the takeout bag. The ambience is really good should you decide to eat inside
I think this is the best Thai restaurant in Emeryville. I am vegetarian and I have tried all vegetarian items here. All the items are good. I almost always try pineapple fried rice and it is good all the time. They are always consistent regarding the taste. In past they had messed up with my order by adding egg in it, but they fixed it by making fresh fish again. So if you are vegetarian then check your served item twice. Curries are good too. I generally order yellow curry which is good. They also offer cooking classes, but I have not attended any. I guess, it is good too.
Super tasty Thai food that's cooked really well with a nice presentation. We just ate here and already wanna go back. Service can be slow since they're a bit short staffed but their attitudes are all great. Just like being in Thailand without the travel costs
They're so kind and attentive, definitely reminds me of how 'service' was thought of before our descending into general meanness. The food is always EXCELLENT and they have GREAT cocktails that aren't $15-20 with like zero alcohol like soo many places post covid. They're great about dietary restrictions and menu changes. And they usually remember after 1 visit which is insanely rare nowadays!!! They're genuine, kind and clearly care. I hope people who live in the area give them a try or we'll lose another wonderful restaurant!!! PLEASE SUPPORT OUR LOCAL BUSINESS FOLKS!!!!
Delicious Thai food! Service was fast and they were really nice 🙌🏻 I had summer rolls and red curry both vegetarian: delicious. Food was beautifully presented. Cute interior. Will be back!

I have had both lunch and several dinners here (all in 2025), and they have all been excellent. The owners are a wonderful couple from Thailand, and their service and food quality/presentations get my highest recommendation. The sweet sole and corn fritters as well as the sticky rice and coconut ice cream get rave reviews.
Summer Summer has been my family’s go to Thai restaurant for over 10 years. Food is elevated and delicious! Service is amazing and the happy hour deal is hard to beat. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area.
I have gotten takeaway and delivery from here before, but I've never actually been inside. I'm usually the driver and my friend runs in to grab our order 🙈. This spot is absolutely cute! Perfect lil date night spot if I'm being honest. We walked in at a prime time about an hour-ish prior to closing. Waited about 15 minutes for a seat, which really wasn't bad at all. Decent turnover for tables and the ladies working here were so sweet to keep checking on us. Normally, I always get kao soi here for takeaway or delivery, but my friend wanted to share a few things. The short rib in green curry was a hit with my friend and I quite enjoyed the dish myself. Lots of eggplant, which I love personally and lots of curry sauce. Honestly, I adore when spots have lots of broth for their curry because it becomes a lil treat to get extra rice to soak up all the flavor. We both loved the grilled pork noodle! Once it's all mixed together, it's such a great dish for sharing! It has lots of wonderful flavors going on and I highly recommend trying it, if you eat pork. We didn't get dessert because we were stuffed, but absolutely would want to try it in the future. Great bar seating, so I may pop back in on my own now that I see how easy parking is at night in the area. Please do yourself a favor and come here, if it's been on your list. It's a great lil spot with easy parking, tasty food, and sweet people taking care of your grumbling tummy.
What a lovely restaurant, featuring authentic Thai dishes with SO much flavor, attention to detail and very fresh ingredients at reasonable prices. And to top it off, a service crew genuinely friendly and professional. Can’t wait to go back!

Amazing food and amazing service. The manager was personable and checked in offering members of our table a drink to cool the spice from his food.

Great tasting food! Loved every appetizer and entree, their special crab curry(spicy though), the Thai coconut water and the coconut ice cream on stick mango rice
I recently picked up some Thai food, its just a few minutes away from the Hyatt hotel. The food had good flavors, but I was disappointed to find a hair in my dish. Additionally, the portion sizes could be a bit more generous.
