Breakfast Republic Encinitas Reviews
This was our 1st time here. The food was great, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was teally cool. We will definitely be returning when we're in the area.
Stumbled on this place by accident and we can’t wait to come back. Sat at the bar and had the best service. Elizabeth took great care of us. Really cute decor and I could tell the rest of the staff really cared. We had the breakfast tostadas and a side of sausage with a couple of bloody Mary’s and a matcha latte. We will be back.
Seated immediately and the food was out of this world. Highly recommend if you’re in the area or even close to it. The local I ate here with said normally there’s a line, but we didn’t have to wait at about 11am. Great breakfast and awesome atmosphere! With parking, too. Since parking is terrible in Encinitas.
Insane vegan options and tasty too. Jose was a wonderful attendant with a smiling face whole time and at reception host was super welcoming and funny. Coffee and other drink options were really good too. Thank you and happy Thanksgiving!!!
Had a great time at breakfast today! Bryan our server was exceptional! (I would hire him for my company). The food was delicious and he gave us recommendations too! I think he was training Ash and she did a great job too.
I am visiting from Sarasota, FL and my friend said I have this amazing breakfast place to take you before you go home. It was a Monday, early - so plenty of seating options. Definitely took the opportunity to look at/enjoy all the signs and decorations. Our waitress, Sasha was so friendly and helpful! She exuded happiness and joy! I was torn between a Mexican mocha, and a dirty Chai - and she thought for a moment and said, “We can try them together.” 🥰 I said let’s do it! that was the right choice - one of the best breakfast beverages I have had! Sasha was very helpful in offering suggestions when we contemplating our breakfast order. My eggs were cooked a perfect “over medium” which speaks well to the chef and staff- getting eggs cooked exactly as ordered is not always as easy as it should be! We ordered a breakfast to go - and Sasha pulled that all together for us. I decided to get the mug that my friends hot latte was served in - I look forward to remembering everything about this breakfast - and will 100% return next time I am visiting San Diego!
The best Breakfast Republic I've been to. Family and I were seated within minutes of putting our names down. I forgot his name, he had a bodybuilder type frame, but he was an excellent server, was very polite , and personable , not only to our table but to others. Highly recommend be cause of the service. Was a bit loud but expected that during Labor Day Weekend
I love this restaurant. The service was perfect. The decor was really fun. The food was great. I had the Elvis French toast and it was one of the better things I've ever eaten for breakfast. They did a really good job of balancing the peanut butter with the banana with the bacon. Each bite was perfect.
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. I ordered the “San Diego Eggs Benedict” and upgraded the potatoes which is prepared with brussel sprouts. The other dish ordered was “Jalapeño Bacon Cheddar Sausage Omelette”, which I was told was also very good! Ordered with the regular home fries which were just as delicious. Liked the very cute coffee mugs and utensil wrappers that gives you a little extra smile for your day. :) BUT…the only thing I didn’t like (which seems becoming more common) is they charge a 4% surcharge fee. FYI
This place was an absolute win. Their Valentines special was absolutely delicious as well. This place deserves a five star. We had to wait about an hour to get in, but with the COVID breakout it is inevitable but understandable because the wait was completely worth it. Services and cleanliness was great as well. In addition they allow the use of bathrooms too. So even with the outbreak they do a great job with managing to keep this place going with the outbreak. To add as well they got heaters outside near the chairs to keep the area warm for our winter season. Do not sleep on this place and get out there and get some great food here at Breakfast Republic!

Great spot for breakfast/brunch! The food was tasty, and our server, Ben, was friendly. Prices are fair, and the restaurant has a really cute theme that makes it a fun place to visit. I especially appreciate that they offer vegan and allergy‑friendly options. The seasoned house potatoes were delicious, and the coffee was decent — not the best I’ve had, but good enough to enjoy with breakfast. Expect a bit of a wait to be seated, even though there’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating — this place gets busy for a reason. Parking can be limited since it’s in a popular shopping plaza. Overall, I’d rate the food around 3.5 to 3.8 stars out of 5. Not mind-blowing, but a solid and enjoyable breakfast spot I’d eat at again.
3.5 stars. This breakfast restaurant has an eclectic breakfast menu. If you prefer to have filling, savory brunch kind of foods for breakfast, come here. They also have a vegan menu. Service is good and quick. Lots of parking in the parking lot if you just drive around enough. The ambiance and atmosphere is nice - spacious, airy, cutesy slogans on the walls, etc. The food is decent but quite heavy on the salt. We ordered the shakshuka special, the sausage omelet and the steak power bowl. The shakshuka was excessively salty. With the accompanying pita bread, the salt was not as obvious but there were 3 pita pieces which I finished in like 5 bites and then a whole 3/4 bowl of salty shakshuka to eat. When we had the leftovers later, there was even more salt because now the dish had marinated in it. The sausage omelet was good and a pretty big portion too. The potatoes that came with it were heavily salted also. Some of those pieces could not be eaten given how salty they were. The steak bowl was fine. The cauliflower rice had the opposite problem in that it didn't have enough salt! If you guys are able to figure out your salt game, the food will get rave reviews.
This is an easy place to get breakfast or brunch with a friend or large group. It is usually pretty busy over the weekends, I never tried during the week. I would call to see how busy it is, but if you get there early it's not too bad. I live close by so, I usually call and then head over. Waiters are nice and friendly but service can be a bit slow so if you are starving might want to get your order in as soon as possible.

Don’t charge us $4 for a plain cup of coffee if I have to wait 30 min for table. No matter the rest of the experience this ruins it for me.

2 coffee a fruit plate one pancake and a tiny side of sausage was 50 bucks. And the pancakes have gotten smaller. What’s with charging extra for syrup on pancakes. This is called “breakfast republic” pretty lame. Food tastes great but way to exspensive for me.
After reading the reviews, I was excited to have brunch with a friend. The ambiance is wonderful. The eggshell chairs & Christmas decorations outside were adorable. The food, not so much.☹️ Service was good. We came on a Saturday & they had no white toast. I had to substitute for an English muffin that was barely toasted. The potatoes were as tasteless as I've ever had, but the eggs were very good/fresh. I always seek to susupport non-corporate businesses, and I read reviews before going anywhere. I wish I could have joined in with the folks raving about the food here, but I can't.
First impression was it is very loud inside - and that was before all the families with kids graduating showed up! I read the other reviews, so I was curious about poor service and tiny amounts of syrup!😂😂 Overall we had a good experience, and it’s a fun atmosphere with lots of little unique touches to make you smile. We were greeted promptly, but not overly enthusiastically. Seated right away (our choice table or bar). Took a little long to be greated at our table, but our server Jose H. was supper efficient and quick once he came. He checked on us multiple times while we ate too, even though large groups had started coming in and he got busy. He got our coffees to us asap (thank you!), and the food followed quickly too (and order was accurate). Generous sized coffee cups (bottomless) with custom ground SD roasted beans, good and rich. Funny mugs too (see pic). Lots of creative menu choices! We both ordered pretty run-of-the-mill items though. Me brioche French toast, side of scrambled eggs. Hubby American scramble, potatoes, bacon and English muffin. We thought the food was good, but not amazing. I love that they use Vital Farms eggs! (Only kind I will buy for home). The syrup holder was tiny - but it was an awesome chicken!!! (See pic) 😂😂 custom plates are pretty cool too. I could have asked for more syrup at any time but decided against adding more as the brioche French toast was pretty sweet on its own. The inside of the toast was soft and custard ish with a nice vanilla flavor. Eggs on the side were a bit dry. Hubby by said his breakfast was “average”. Yes, they are still adding a 4% surcharge to your total bill. The prices for food/drinks are not low here compared to other north county boutique restaurants, so in my opinion they should remove this surcharge. Our total for two coffees, two “normal” breakfasts, tip, tax, surcharge was $45.85. In conclusion, we may be back, but probably not soon. We have other favorite north county breakfast places we would choose first. This location feels like it was probably really cool and fun when it opened, but now it’s lost its “glow” and has become a bit tired. PS- they have a big private back room, good to remember if you need a place for a large group.
They weren’t very busy on a Wednesday noon, yet the service was slow. And my food arrived almost cold so that was a frustrating outcome after a long wait. And, it didn’t taste that good. I had …
The food is pretty mid.. it’s like a dad cooking for his kids kind of taste / look. I didn’t finish it & still tipped. Service was excellent though! Notes: 1) Try to lay off of the spices so heavily- less is more (hashbrowns). 2) Don’t let the eggs get cold before you serve.
Waiter took 10 minutes to acknowledge us. Restaurant wasn’t even full. Ordered poached eggs and eggs were fully cooked through. Waiter never once offered us refills. When we asked for the check, had to wait almost another 10 minutes for him to come. Used to love breakfast republic, but I think we won’t be coming back anymore.
Tough visit, service was not great. Took my order and didn’t see him until I flagged him down for silverware and then again had to go find him for the check, along with another table near mine. Food was mostly cold when I got it, but the eggs were delicious so that was nice.
