This place is a hidden gem in Encinitas. I passed it so many times on my bike cruising along the coast and finally decided to stop by for brunch with my wife and daughter. We all were blown away with the atmosphere, service, and quality of food. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially flat breads.

This visit to Union Kitchen was outstanding. They treated us very well. The food was great. My wife and I shared the Steak and Fritts and the Crab Cakes. The kids had a burger and the chicken stripes. The drinks were also ver good. The service was quick and friendly. We will be back and I recommend this place to anyone.

We tried to make reservations at 4:00 p.m. and we're not allowed to but when we arrived at 4:15 the restaurant was probably half full no problem. We were quickly seated after a minute of looking at our menu our order was taken by the friendly server. I had the gumbo and added shrimp to it it was fantastic very authentic flavors. My wife had the vegetarian burger which she said was one of the best she had ever had. The food was great waitress was possibly in a little bit of a rush . We enjoyed the nice clean atmosphere and they're also was live music ❤️💪

What a great find! Great location, great vibe, and great food! We came on a Wednesday night. We were seated promptly without having to wait. There's a variety of fun cocktails as well as different draft beers on tap to choose from! Pan seared salmon was good but skin could be more crispy. Sauce for the seared salmon was not my favorite. My friends ordered the gumbo and the fisherman's stew. They all enjoyed their food very much. Now, finally, the CORNVREAD is what you really need to order. It's very buttery and heavy, but that's why you bring a friend or two with you 😉

What a great place! Fun atmosphere and tons of seating outside and back from the street as well. Service was prompt and Emily was fantastic! I love the Vegan-specific part of their menu. Takes the guesswork out and eliminates the need for substitutions to get a healthy and tasty Vegan dish. I went for late lunch and had the Union Power Bowl and shared the Mushroom flatbread (not Vegan). Yummy! Fun place for adults and families and lots of pet-friendly patio space.

We share 3 different plates, the foos was good presentation, amount and flavor. The waitress were friendly, I just have a comment they just come when we call them, honestly I don't know if there was no more waitresses or just the 3 did I see. We set outside and the weather was so good.

Along Highway 101. Slow service but fun people watching. Drinks had plenty of alcohol in them. Would return.

I really love the atmosphere and the location of Union tap. I like that they have entertainment in there with artist performing. My review might be a little biased because I am celiac and also avoid dairy - so although they do try to accommodate me, it doesn’t seem that everyone is always very trained up on it and the ingredients of the menu. It has happened twice now where I have ordered food and promised it wasn’t cross contaminated with dairy and come to find out later it was cooked with butter. So that parts frustrating. I think they have been doing a better job lately, but I also know better now as well! Their food is quite tasty and I highly recommend this restaurant. Just be careful if you have allergies and ask a lot of questions.

The UNION BURGER is delicious! The bacon you can add is outstanding and the Brioche Bun is so good. It is the kind you crave and 'need' to go back for. The Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich is outstanding too. The regular fries and the sweet potato fries are awesome. I tried the Truffle Fries. Those were not good enough that I would get them again or recommend them. Especially when the others are so amazing. I see a lot of things on the menu I am gonna need to try, like Loaded Short Rib Fries. But that burger will probably win in the end. It's one of my all-time favorites.

Their Brisket Fries are soo good! It was better than I expected, I ate the whole thing and there was very little fat at all on the meat. It was super tasty and just the right amount of food. I came here with two friends, one was visiting from Oregon so we got drinks as well, all of which were great. We had Poke Nachos, BBQ Chicken Flatbread with Margaritas, Beers, Old Fashioned and a shot at the end. Even though it was busy on a Sunday our waiter was really on top of checking in on us.

Food at this establishment.. On point, very delicious and a good amount. -Pups allowed, they have a huge outside area to eat; plus a Pup menu. We have a picky pup and he loved his steak. -Great choices on the menu for everyone. Service, not great for us. Our server only would check on one person. We are a please and thank you family and not even that was helpful for us. But this service will not stop us from going back.

It’s a cool place, pretty friendly staff. The meatballs dish looks great… it’s not. The meatballs themselves are okay, not great. The tomato/ marinara sauce had little to nothing going for it. The meatballs were not hot on arrival and the cast iron dish isn’t hot. The garlic bread looks beautiful too but no salt. This place is being a pansy about seasoning their food.

Stopped for lunch on 12/26, place was busy although tables were available. Got shut down for our requested table by host person because that waiter had too many tables (however, the next couple got that table immediately.) It seemed the place was seriously under staffed, both on the floor and in the kitchen. Wait person was friendly but service was very slow and the food was average at best. My crab cakes came out luke warm, we had to fetch our own silverware and ask for water refills which never came. Saw the floor manager, who seemed very friendly, make many apologies and offer many comps due to slow service and incorrect orders. Over $100 (with tip) for lunch for two. Not worth it!!!!

Poor service, poor quality drinks. Our waiter said “making it complicated” after I ordered 2 drinks from the menu with no changes, and 2 shots for a group of friends. The drinks also were not good, minimal effort for a holiday drink. Atmosphere was super cool with Christmas decorations but that was the only good part.
