Me and my family are vacationing in cali and we were all very hungry and this was our first choice and first time here and oh my goodness the food choices and the food itself were very good and delicious the service was very good she checked up on us and making sure everyone was satisfies definitely a good choice!😊
Good evening my husband just came over to pick up some food that that we ordered the roast beef and it bleed the corned beef sandwiches I always loved getting our sandwiches from Jewish delis because the sandwiches are very juicy fresh and you get a lot of food and I just want to say that the food is always good
Best Matzoh Brie in town and Janet is the best server. It was my first time here, as I live in Westwood, but definitely worth the trip. I'll be back.
My wife and I went here for lunch and it was a great experience. I ordered the hot open face brisket sandwich with home fries, and my wife had a chicken salad sandwich with soup. All the portions were huge and the food tasted great. The service was also excellent. The only minor downside to this place is the same thing at every place these days, which is the price. We paid about $22 on average for each of our entrees, but my soda was reasonable at $3.50. I would definitely return.
Absolutely loved this place! Such a classic, nostalgic diner vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. The pastrami sandwich was amazing! The soups were also really good, I tried mushroom & Matzo ball which was comforting and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying. Can't wait to come back and try more from the menu!
The food here is so fresh! Every Thanksgiving we come down to LA to visit relatives. One of the mornings we meet my aunt and uncle and cousin's family for breakfast. I know at least one of us will have the bagels, fresh and tasty lox and cream cheese w all the fixings, the eggs Benedict, the steak and eggs and an omlette. Everyone shares. Portions are huge and yet you don't want leftovers! Too good to put into a box! Service is great too. Very accommodating.
Great deli, always good food and service. All the traditional deli items. Prices aren't bad. Excellent Reuben!
Seems like a good place has lots of regulars worth stopping by and the pastrami sandwich and matzo ball soup were excellent but portions are to big at times
Such lovely servers! All so nice! Food was good and we enjoyed ourselves. Totally recommended if you are in the valley! We were very happy! 👏🏻👏🏻
10/02/2025 So it was my first time coming at this restaurant and I was craving a tuna sandwich. I looked at their review and it was impressive so I gave it a try. I ordered a tuna sandwich to go on wheat bread and a steak fries. I hate to leave a negative review but I have to be honest. The tuna sandwich was $21.94 worth of disappointment. It was dry, it didn't have any taste, no mayo or any dressing at all, and the wheat bread it was breaking as I hold the sandwich. The portion was big but the taste and the quality wasn't good. The fries were good specially their ranch dressing. But the tuna sandwich itself was bad. I never had a tuna sandwich that bad $21.94 and I wish I just went to subway for a tuna sandwich. I'm sure they have a lot of good stuff in their menu. I may try other things on the menu but not in the near future Update: 10/17/2025 I went to try their "Hot pastrami" and it changed my opinion from 1 star review to 5 star review in an instant. The meat was fatty and juicy and the portion was perfect. It costed me $23.31 but I have no complain since the portion and the quality of the sandwich was well worth it unlike their tuna sandwich. Now I understand why the customers love this place.
My first time coming to Uncle Bernie's after hearing how great it is from many. The food was very good overall! A huge menu with many breakfast and lunch options! The service was great! The staff was friendly and very attentive. Lastly, the atmosphere was just as good! A huge seating area and they move many tables around to accommodate us! Definitely would love going back!
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday family dinner here. I ordered the potato knish and whitefish salad. The whitefish salad was delish. This may be a preference thing but I noticed that the potato filling of the knish tasted like boxed mash potatoes which is not my preference. The waiter made a few mistakes with my family's order but he was such a friendly and personable guy that we didn't mind.
A few months ago Uncle Bernie’s didn’t have good reviews, I decided not to visit then but I was in the area and double checked the reviews, I am glad I gave them a try! First off, sooo clever of them to use old bagels for bagel chips and butter. Of course, you need the pickles….. The matzo ball soup was very flavorful and delish. The corned beef sando and fries were delightful don’t forget to add the coleslaw to the sando!
Fast service, friendly atmosphere. Lots of elder customers, so that's nice. Reviewing the chili, though: too salty, lacking in texture, and flavor is strong but not in a good way, more like undistinguishable. Maybe the blending of too many flavors? Either way, I tried to finish the bowl, it was simply not tasty (and I'm not easily critical with food). I will try other soups, so I may update this review later. $9.03 (in hindsight, feels not worth it)
Reuben on rye fabulous! Quality meat on a good rye bread, with the juices soaking into the bottom slice of rye🙌 House sauce(mayo+Thousand or Ketchup?) Very good pickle! Eclair, well ordered with supervisor, but didn't get brought out but wasn't on bill... My only critique would be on their choice of high fructose in their ketchup and Dr Brown canned Root beer :( After speaking with the Manager, its a shame a place will discount Police, but not give back to their Veterans and to say their customers are primarily Veterans shows their patronage towards those that have served... Not happy with this decision...
My first trip to Uncle Bernie's was a success. I arrived at 2 pm in the afternoon, craving something satisfying for breakfast, and was thrilled to discover that they serve breakfast all day. It's not every day that you can indulge in a hearty morning meal in the middle of the afternoon, and I was excited to take advantage of this perk. As I walked into Uncle Bernie's, I was immediately struck by the warm and welcoming ambiance. It was clear that Uncle Bernie's had a strong focus on creating a family-friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for families with kids. As I perused the menu, I noticed that many of the tables around me were ordering the pastrami sandwiches, which seemed to be a popular item among the patrons. The service at Uncle Bernie's was a bit slow, but I could understand why given the bustling atmosphere. They have a private parking lot which is a plus for the area they are in.
this was my first issue at this place. I paid extra for avocado on my sandwich and didn’t receive it, so I had to go back to get it fixed. By the time I got home, the food was cold. When I spoke to the server about it, he mostly just looked at me and smiled and didn’t really apologize, which made the interaction feel dismissive. The overall vibe felt a bit harsh from checkout through resolving the mistake. I understand errors happen, but how they’re handled really matters. The sandwich itself was okay, and next time I’ll double-check my order before leaving. I’m hoping this was just an off day
