Best late night community gathering space, perfect for after work drinks with friends. High quality ingredients, service, and supportive of marginalized community members. I feel safe to go here late night at a Black woman in a rural area 💖🙌🏽👽✊🏽🛸👑

Loved this little bar, met a few locals and there was a live band. Small little dance floor but it was enough. Lots of older folks in the scene but nevertheless, it was still a great time! Drinks were good, but of course I ordered the basic jack and coke, bartender was super cute and absolutely fantastic. Older men got pretty handsy, like grandpas friend telling you how pretty your are while rubbing your arms. I did leave my white sweater by accident but I had to leave the next day, so if ya found it, hit me up!

Looking for an intimate, chill vibe, easy-going (yep, the name slaps) hangout on your own or with a date or a group? THIS is the place. I was there on a Saturday night, very talented band, fabulous mixologies, ran into people I knew. The only thing I wish they would add: packaged nuts, and maybe even some candy bars? Right now the only food option is three different varieties of the same brand of potato chips. 🤨 Give me more snacking options, and I will stay longer, and I will spend more $$. Promise!

Great vibe bar. I had a beer and listened to the Saturday night band. "New Orleans inspired custom built bar" in a cozy spot in "Opera Alley" Old Town Eureka. If I lived in Eureka this would be my bar of choice.

We enjoyed the service and atmosphere. We are warmly welcomed. The bartender was magician. Whatever she made her drink was absolutely wonderful.

First time at The Speakeasy and it already feels like I've stumbled upon Eureka's best-kept secret! Aptly named 'Speakeasy', it's a cozy gem tucked away in Opera Alley. Stepping inside, I braced myself for just another drink, but boy, was I in for a treat! The ambiance was intimate with a sprinkle of patrons sipping away. Ordered an old fashioned with a unique bourbon twist. And can we talk about those crushed marchiano cherries? A game changer! Now, every time I think old fashioned, I'll be craving this unique touch. The backdrop of soulful r&b, a delightful blend of classics and fresh hits, set the mood just right. Not to mention, the mural outside? Pure artistry! But the cherry on top (pun intended) was the lovely conversation with a fellow patron and her delightful parents. The open-heartedness and warmth of the place is palpable. Can't wait for my next visit to The Speakeasy. Hoping for another round of that perfect drink and perhaps another heartwarming chat. Cheers to 5/5 experiences! 🥂

This place is a wonderful cocktail bar with inventive drinks and extremely friendly staff. I had the Seafoam Lichee Fizz and it was superb. The atmosphere was extremely good and the jazz band was slamming. The crowd is pretty local and it's a great stop if you were walking the Friday market.

Fabulous craft cocktails and great service, even on busy NYE. Really enjoyed the cherry canary and their hot whiskey cure-all. ♡

Cozy bar with great atmosphere in downtown Eureka. The cocktails were outstanding. I had the "Thoughts and Prayers," which in retrospect could be a political statement. Check out the mural outside and the sparkly lights inside.

Always love visiting the Speakeasy whenever I am in Eureka, California. This place is just as good as it was when I used to live there over 10 years ago. The drinks here are excellent, the staff are super friendly, and the entertainment is second to none! A+++

The bartender was awesome, and they have a cute selection of warm mixed alcohol that has a Autumn theme to it. Normally I don't like mixed drinks but the buttered bourbon was awesome. They also have killer mojitos

Great live music and some delicious cocktails. Ambience is a cross between a divebar and Victorian parlor if that's possible..

This is HANDSDOWN my favorite drink spot in Northern Humboldt! Every bar tender is fantastic, very hospitable, talkative and knowledgeable about the drink they are crafting. I always love sitting at the bar to get the full experience of their drink craft (as well as some good conversation-lately we have had Alfie as our bartender, shout out to you Alfie for always being amazing!). I take everyone of my friends that visits to this bar. Has been and will always be on my top 5 list. 10/10 would recommend!

Fabulous service and good cocktails but I think overpriced. Bring your own food if hungry as only chips available. Environment is good but very small space. So when the band started playing you can hardly hear anything but the band. There is outdoor seating, and there you can have a conversation. If contemplation with a good drink and music is what you're after, then 5 stars.

Friendly staff but had to take off a few stars for the gender inequality. One women's room, one all gender restroom, ZERO men's rooms.

Things that get you treated like you're not supposed to be there by the staff: -looking over the menu before ordering -showing up to watch the jazz band -ordering a drink -not ordering a drink -asking them what fun places there are around town Each time I go here I'm hoping it will be a better experience. But I don't think I will return again. Though they have a great band , and a cool aesthetic like it looks nice in there, but in my experience the bartenders are sure to let know you're unwelcome every time. There's no cover and no drink minimum, yet if you show up to watch the band play they will treat you rudely. So if you're looking to pay $15 for a drink with atmosphere, but absolutely atrocious service, then I guess you should check this place out. But I wouldn't recommend it.

I started going to this bar about 9 months ago, I became friends with Tim and most of the rest of the Opera Alley Cats, and I very much enjoyed going there every Tuesday night for the music and some drinks. Sadly the manager of the bar noticed that I go barefoot after all this time, and refused me service claiming health codes and liability, sadly both of these excuses get used way too often and are both incorrect. The first time she told me this while I was inside watching the band, so I decided fine I will not spend any more money but will go when the band is outside, then she told me I couldn't be there barefoot outside either! It's a shame, I made great friends, spent easily 50+ a week, and this is how they treat good customers with lies over their own fears of being barefoot. It's very sad that such a great chapter in my life has to come to an end over something so pedantic to a business.
