UPDATE: still gas, still fire, best restaurant in the Catskills, go ASAP!!!!!! We stumbled upon La Cabana while exploring Fleischmanns, and what an incredible find! This place is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The enchiladas were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection, easily some of the best we’ve ever had. The chips and salsa were so fresh and addictive that we couldn’t stop eating them, and the margaritas? Simply amazing – the perfect balance of tart and refreshing. La Cabana is a must-visit for dinner if you’re in the area, cannot recommend them enough!!!

LA Cabana was another default place of mine when I lived in the area, Mexican style restaurant. Family owned for many years I got friendly with the oldest son Renay, a good guy. Always seating at the bar area, pool table and juke box. Food was always good and served quickly. Full seating area of about maybe 15 tables so easy to book a big party. Mostly local crowd at the bar and plenty of street parking. Always had a great time, please visit.

Oct '11, with Margareteville closed down due to flooding, my motorcycle group needed a place to eat. Found La Cabana on Google maps and decided to go. Well worth it! The food is amazing, the waitress was very friendly, and it was just the place to pop in on a cold Autumn day. We were so impressed with this place that when we came back this way in Oct '12 with another rider, we had to stop here again. Once again, it's the ideal place to come in off the road to an old homelike feel with a friendly staff and excellent Mexican food. Good portions, and with plenty of chips and sweet/slightly spicy salsa. Get a booth seat, they are very comfortable.

Definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Delicious food and friendly service.. combined with a couple drinks from the bar.. makes for a great dining experience. Either grab a table or booth in their spacious dining room or pull up a stool at the bar to socialize, play billiards, listen to the jukebox or watch the game on TV. Highly recommended

Authentic Mexican, that tasted freshly prepared and homemade. Amazing food, great service, hidden gem. Being a celiac and needing gluten free options, LA Cabana had no problem pointing out what I could and shouldn't eat.

Small town, we got take-out nachos w/ chicken, fajitas w/ steak, and extra chips. Chips on nachos were soggy — my fault for picking up later than they suggested and walking 20 min home — but dipping the extra chips made them top-notch, almost like nachos married enchiladas! Chips were abundant and crispy. Thanks!

The most awesome food in the area. Awesome margaritas (thanks Rene)and believe me, it is very hard to find a good margarita !! We are so lucky to have La cabana so close to our home. Try the entrees, they will never leave you hungry. Great people, great food !!!!

Big fan of this place, I live nearby and go regularly. It's great to have authentic Mexican food around here, and the atmosphere is homey and low-key in all the right ways. The staff is also always very nice to me, and there's pool and a jukebox for some entertaining too.

La Cabana is a great lace! The food is authentic Mexican and the margaritas are awesome. the staff is super friendly and best of all the portions are HUGE! If you want a real down home hearty Mexican meal.. made by the owners, true Mexican family, then this is your spot in the mountains! We keep coming back!

The Tortilla Soup was the highlight. Soo good! The Margaritas were so worth it and they put in a lot of Tequila. We also had the Nacho and Garlic Shrimp also good. The Churro was wonderful and My kid gobbled up the fried ice cream. There were also a lot of other choices but we were not that hungry. The reasonable prices made it a winner for me.

They have great food and a great atmosphere. The service is a little slow, but they're family owned. Their updated menu is mostly Mexican food with a few American items like burgers and fries. They also have a bar with a pool table. My only criticism is that they never have all of the dessert items that are on the menu.

Drinks were good, try the tequila flights, didn't order food but the staff was friendly, seemed like a nice spot, no drama

Went on a Sunday evening. Business was relatively quiet, with steady flow of take out and dine in orders. Margaritas were good. Chips were awesome. Good salsa and guacamole. Rellenos were a bit different than what we're used to, but still tasty and buried in cheese. It's a family-owned business. Waiter was a tad impersonal at first, but warmed up as we talked with him. We would definitely go back if in the area again.

The food we had was average at best except desserts. The flan and fried icy cream were great. I had carne asada and it was fine, nothing special. I was told chimichanga and Mexican burger were not that good. Probably will try something else next time if in the area.

The waiter was super nice and very accommodating. We played pool, darts, and listened to music and enjoyed ourselves before the meal. However the food was the worst meal we have ever eaten at a restaurant. It was flavorless and all the meat tasted like it was out of a can. We ended up going and getting a pizza afterwards to eat.

I called to place an order using the menu online and was met with rude service. And the server didn’t know what they had on their menu and was very rude. Please provide better customer service to both people that come to the restaurant and people placing takeout orders!

Me and my family came here to see how good the food was here. To my surprise the food was plain and had zero to no flavor in the food. The people who work there seem nice but they really just put no love into their cooking. I would rather you save your money and instead go somewhere like taco bell.

Please don't have any expectations that you might have from previous reviews, this place is dying, may be it was ok before, but NOT NOW!!! Soup is water with tomato paste, nothing in there, only tortillas and some tomato pieces, taste omg.....(((( We ordered steak, they asked: how we would like to cook it , I asked medium, they brought meat hardly say it's the steak at all, meat tasted as chlorine and hard to chew, only rice was good, guacamole was from can that you can buy from any grocery store, not home made or any decent restaurant made, quesadilla is the worse we ever had. And the most exciting part: Margarita...: ..it is margarita mix (that selling in any liquor store) on ice cubes, nothing is there, only that mix and ice cubes, no any tequila inside, salt rim is just name salt rim but nothing is there. SO DISAPPOINTED, WANTED THROW UP, SORRY BUT YOU NEED CLOSE THIS PLACE

I went last night. They had a good amount of tables certainly not to capacity. They ran out of chips and guacamole but somehow found chips if you ordered nachos. Then my kids ordered fajitas and after the fajitas came I was told they were out of tortillas. The server said after the food came and I quote “I’m not going to lie, you are not getting tortillas with your fajitas.” I then asked them, if you are out of tortillas then my kids would have ordered something different. They would like to order something different. I was then told they didn’t know they were out of tortillas until they cooked the food. Anyway, somehow 1 minute later tortillas arrived. I am perfectly fine being understanding of the restaurant and kitchen overwhelmed but the lack of customer service or apology for their ineptitude is astounding. I certainly will not be going back It was an exhausting experience dealing with these people who have no regard for customer service. If you are ok with “you get what you get and don’t get upset” then this is the place for you! I do have to say the food is decent but not worth the aggravation if they are busy.
