You really feel like in Guangzhou here, no matter of the atmosphere and food. The roasted pigeon and the chicken congee is best in classes! Highly recommended.

We've been going to the ones in Manhattan for years and this one may be better. The steamed freshwater Bass was amazing. Perfectly steamed and the candle to keep it warm was awesome. Snails were excellent along with all the staples. The thai style chicken feet were diffrent.. tasty, and boneless!

Probably the most frequented Chinese restaurant by our family. Now this is some proper Cantonese fare!!! We love everything, dim sum great, regular dishes great. Just come for a stellar, proper Chinese meal. And yes, the congee is really good too.

I recently had a family lunch here, and I must say, the experience exceeded expectations. The food was incredibly flavorful, with generous portions that are perfect for sharing.staffs were friendly. One of my fav dish was the beef stew with rice rolls served in a casserole. The rich, savory broth paired beautifully with the soft, chewy rice rolls. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy!

I was visiting the area on a rainy day and was a bit hungry. I was nearby and came upon this place. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly and welcoming host and seated immediately. They have 2 floors of seating and a vast menu. All items are listed by category. Many delicious authentic Chinese dishes you can choose from. There are some hot items that require to be pre-ordered in advance, such as their soy sauce chicken, Dungeness crab, etc. The food and service was good. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving Chinese or seafood. Definitely will be back to explore other dishes!

This is my hidden gem.💎⭐️I recommend here is top meal of my short 2 days trip in flushing New york. There has a ton of chinese food. But I choose this from pictures more than their google rating. I came here a late night(9.00p.m.)with fully belly. Here is our 11st. restaurant of that day. Please don’t judge me for exaggerating. I think I should go to the kitchen then tell how👍🏻great you are.Delighted me.Waiters are superb.

Great place for Chinese food. Service is very fast when we were there. There are separate party rooms for small parties and the decor is spectacular. You can tell that the owners really reinvest in their business.

Stepping into Congee Village is akin to being whisked away to a traditional Chinese eatery right in the heart of China. The decor and menu combine to create an authentically charming and delightful Chinese atmosphere, a refreshing departure from the usual Americanized interpretations we so often get in other places herein the US. The ambiance is strikingly genuine, offering an experience that feels both unique and authentically Chinese. The wait staff are not only exceptionally friendly and attentive but also insightful, offering helpful suggestions and recommendations that enrich the dining experience. The menu is a celebration of traditional Chinese cuisine, featuring a range of classic dishes, each prepared with care and culinary expertise. Here, the focus is on traditional, time-honored flavors, with dishes that are not overly ambitious or modern, but rather, comforting and satisfying. It's a dining experience that feels genuinely pleasant and fulfilling, resonating with the essence of traditional Chinese culinary art.

Food was really good especially the salt squid and roast duck, but like I said to my bf too over priced and I didn't like that they demanded more tip when all they did was take the order and drop the food on the table, he gave a good tip and to still demand more was really tacky. He also asked for a drink menu they only serve tea and sodas. Did love the fish pond.

Congee Village is a South Chinese Dim Sum and Southern Chinese cuisine restaurant right outside of Tangram mall. The staff are friendly and mainly speak Cantonese, but can understand English as well. Service was a bit slow, but it was really busy so it makes sense. The Dim sum is pretty standard, nothing too outstanding and prices were good for portion size. They still utilize the cart system, which makes it easier to get dim sum dishes but can be tough when seated away from the main dining room. We also got the beef chow fun and beef chow mein, as well as the signature jook with peanuts and fish. The jook was pretty good, lightly salted and not too bad. The chow fun wasn't too oily, and tasted quite good.

Came here for a quick lunch before heading home, and this place was average. The menu was extensive, so it's good for people who want to eat different types of food. The service could be better, as the waiters/waitresses were very busy helping a lot of tables. The air conditioning was very minimal, as the open kitchen was kind of right there in the dining room area. I don't know if I would come back again or not, but if you want option - you have tons of options here.

We came here for a family gathering. At first when we made the reservation over the phone, the receptionist told us that minimum spending qualification for a private room was $1,000. On the day of, due to lack of customers the changed it to $500. Try not to commit to a room way in advance if your party feels alright with being seated in the general area. We ordered a wide variety of dishes and the ones that really stood out were their steamed fish, glutinous rice and lobster stir fry (this is a must try, I was skeptical at first but it’s amazing!!), and sweet and sour pork. The tofu bricks were very mild and mediocre, it’s supposed to be one of the dishes the restaurant is known for but I would skip it. The beef short ribs were not that tender, sauce tasted weird too. Other veggie dishes are just what you would expect at a traditional Chinese restaurant. Overall, pretty good experience.

We been here few times and the quality/flavor of the food had gone downhill. Even my dad( who literally eats everything and usually doesn't complain about anything) said the food were salty, overcooked and chewy. We ordered 6 dishes this time, the razor clams were extremely salty and rubbery, way overcooked. The beef dish was overcooked as well, they were tough to chew( the flavor was fine). The flavor of noodle dish was fine, but when the server brought the dish out, the noodles were barely warm(even the plate is cold), it looks like pre-made. The others dishes were ok, nothing stands out. Very disappointed with this place, not coming back again.

This one is a sad one to write — feels like Congee Village is a shadow of its former self. Came in on Saturday for a brunch (arguably the most important meal for a restaurant like this), and it’s clear the place is understaffed: service is slow (and inattentive) and food was very mediocre. The decor and China is a nice touch, but is surely showing its age. On food - we ordered a variety of dishes: from dim sum (buns 流沙包, gluttonous rice dumpling 咸水角, and chive dumplings 韭菜饼), walnut shrimp with broccoli, conch and tofu mix, as well as a couple of bowls of congee — the preserved pork and century egg as well as sampan congee: the traditional options. The chive dumplings were the best, I’d stay away from the walnut shrimp and conch dishes, and if you prefer the congee on the savory (and candidly salty) side, then perhaps this will suit your taste. I wish I had kinder things to say but this may be the last time I come here.

The phone operator at the front desk was very unprofessional. One dish in my takeout order originally came with a specific type of fish, but without any prior notice or explanation, the restaurant replaced it with two completely different kinds of fish. When I called to ask for an explanation, the staff member simply said, “That’s how it is,” with a very rude attitude. This is disappointing behavior from a restaurant that has been operating in the Chinese community for many years. Customers deserve transparency and respect. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place.
