New Mulan Restaurant Flushing Reviews
On a busy corner in Flushing. Right by the subway entrance. Order at one window and pick up on the other. Lava pearls has brown sugar. Both drinks were good. They had to remake one drink but she did that fast when she saw the other worker made it wrong.
Got a passionfruit green tea with popping pearls I believe, and can I just say this drink is so good. The server was also really nice and smiled when he spoke… nice change from the flushing atmosphere.
My go to place in NYC for bubble tea. Nothing else satisfies in the milk teas category. Unfortunately they were out of Caramel milk tea last time I went. Bit of a bummer. Np got to try something new. Love the concept of a secret drink on the menu. Really cool! ~and extremely creative
A pretty good boba spot. It's pick-up only and is built into the corner, so don't expect to sit down here. Lines move pretty fast and the orders come out faster. I have yet to be disappointed, overall it's provided quality service and drinks.
Close to Hotels. Great Locatiom. Open late. Lots of good stuff to eat. And it all tastes goid. Safe neighbord for the elderly and kids.Nice service.
Honestly, one of my favorite drink places out there. Prices are affordable, drinks are made quick and fast. Wow I LOVE THIS PLACE. I go there like almost every week for a drink because of how delicious their drinks are. Especially one of the workers, so sweet and amazing! I'm not sure what her name is but she has black hair, she's asian, probably 5'5, amazing lashes, she's great and efficient! DEFINITELY WILL BE GOING BACK NEXT WEEK!
This spot has been here for so long and has been one of the best. Super reasonably priced and high quality. Workers are also super nice, especially this one girl who served me. She had black hair and was quick with my drink on a busy afternoon (I think her name was tiffany). She was very polite would go back again as a fan favorite.
Jason was awesome. Gave great recommendations and made our drinks really super swag. Bro Jason changed my life bro I can’t even lie bro
5 STAR EXPERIENCE 100000000000000%. THE WORKERS THERE (HIGHLIGHTING TIFFANY) ARE VERY ATTENTIVE, NICE, POLITE, AND FAST. THEY ARE ABLE TO MULTITASK AND PREPARE MY DRINK WITHIN 3-5 MINUTES!!! THE DRINK QUALITY IS GREAT AND THE MANGO DRINKS ARE TOP TIER!! THE LOCATION IS GREAT BECAUSE IT IS IN THE CENTER OF MAIN ST! WHAT A SPECTACULAR BUBBLE TEA SHOP, I HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE I WAS AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILD!!! LOVE IT HERE ONCE AGAIN 5 STARS!!!
I LOVE THIS COCO LOCATION BECAUSE THEY HAVE THIS AMAZING EMPLOYEE NAMED TIFFANY. SHE GENUINELY DESERVES A RAISE. SHE WORKS VERY HARDLY AND IS VERY DILIGENT. SHE MAKES MY DRINKS TASTE BETTER THAN ANY OFHER COCO LOCATION. BLESS THE HEAVENS FOR GIVING THEM AN EMPLOYEE LIKE TIFFANY!!!! 🤣🤣😊😊🥹🥹🥺🥺💘💘😊😊🥰🥰🙏🙏
The mango smoothies were soooooo good. I’d give it like a 6 out of 7 snd I hope that I can get some more in the future. I will bring 6 or 7 friends to all get mango smoothies. 🥺🙏
Great spot for boba to go! I love their Bubble Gaga and Passion Fruit Green Tea.
Solid dim sum spot. I’ve visited 3–4 times, and the dim sum is consistently tasty with classic choices. Food comes out fresh and has the comforting, authentic flavors you expect. Service is quick and efficient. A reliable place when you want good dim sum. Will visit again.
The food here are delicious. It usually gets busy in the afternoon, so you should come in the morning if you want to get a table. The staffs are polite and they circle every occupied table at set intervals. Therefore, you do not need to worry about the staffs not coming to you. Of course, you can also directly order a dish if you miss the cart.
Had Christmas Dinner at New Mulan, it was an amazing experience. The dining hall looks like it was just renovated, it was very nice and clean. The Sashimi Platter was fabulous, fresh, and tasty, same with the Crispy Shrimp with Walnuts. The server we had was attentive. We will definitely come back again! If you are looking for Authentic Chinese food, New Mulan is a must-try!
Service (5/5): we came in on a weeknight at 6pm and there was no other patrons so we were wined and dined by several staff until a few later parties arrived. They were courteous and tended to us often. Ambiance (5/5): They just renovated and reopened a month ago! The dining area is also used as a wedding venue spot as you can see the ornate table settings, beautiful decor, speaker systems, and a projector in the front advertising the space. There's also private rooms in the back. One particular one had karaoke going on (and we could hear it..) Food: Chicken with Eggplant casserole : It was very salty but I enjoyed the taste. It came out in a bubbling plate. Salted porkchops: Nice crunchy outer crust. Chicken w Broccoli: Very standard dish, slightly too salty but the chicken pieces were super tender! Broccoli was cooked to a perfect crunch. Singapore Noodles: Tasty! Fried flounder: I loved the crispy skin of the flounder. It tasted fresh. Steak w black pepper sauce: The chunks were tender but they were very large and needed a knife to make some smaller cuts. However the sauce was just alright.
202405 Dim sum heaven :3 so many tasty varieties. The fried taro is particularly good. Hello Kitty meeting custard bun looks cute. The fishballs and meatballs are good too. I didn’t see gai lan or any other vegetable dish passing by unfortunately. It’s fun to share food with loads of friends, though a little hard to see the options in the cart and stop the ladies for the dishes I want.
I like all the dishes here. The staff are very helpful. Came here for a wedding. We ate so much. I like the ambience. I think some ratings are not fair. I think this is a great wedding venue. It’s got space. The seafood is on point. I do think more people should know about Cantonese places like this one. I like all the photos I posted.
This is by far the best dimsum restaurant I have ever been in my life. The only downside was the 30 minutes wait probably because it was for Sunday brunch. All of their dishes and dumplings had very rich flavors. My favorite ones were Siu Mai and pork buns. The ribs were very tender as well. I could feel the whole shrimp and pork inside. We did have some ordering mishap where we thought chow mien was a stir fried noodles but it was actually deep fried noodles. Would have been better if they were clear about it or replaced the dish for us.
One of my favorite Bubble Tea places! [+] Prices are really good [+] Bubble Tea tastes really good [+] Location is really good (conveniently located close to Subway station) [+] selection is really good (so much to chose from) [+/-] there is nearly always a line [-] no plant-based milk alternatives [-] staff is not always the fastest I can strongly recommend this place IF you are not in a rush. I have not found the staff unfriendly (like mentioned in some other reviews), but have been asked to come back to pick up my Tiger Milk Tea twice already (after standing in line for approx. 10 mins each time)... so, yeah, bring patience. They seem to have an app, which makes ordering ahead possible (see pictures), so maybe that is an option IG you are in a rush but still want Bubble Tea :) There are vegan options, but not for milk teas, as this place does not offer plant-based milk alternatives. Can adjust sugar and ice levels to taste.
The Brown Sugar pearl milk tea was amazing. The tea and milk flavors were fresh and prominent. When the cup was ready, it was warm, because the brown sugar was heated up and dripped on to the inside. This I believe added to the flavor profile. Of course it also assured that powder form of brown sugar it wasn't!
This a bubble tea spot in a corner of a super busy street. You can make a nice mix with different toppings or milk. Maybe also check the amount of sugar, I had the chunky mango green tea and thought it was a little too sweet.
Hidden gem in Flushing. Not only is the restaurant beautiful with chandeliers; great for banquets and parties…the food was solid especially the crispy chicken which came out perfectly moist and crisp. Portions were also very large. Good value! Only thing is that this place is confusing to find especially gps asks you to drive through Main St. instead follow the GPS to their parking lot which is right around the corner. Attached is a photo with the parking lot address. Good luck!
Nice atmosphere. Some dishes arrive hot off the cart (all types of buns, dumplings, eggrolls etc). We also order fried noodles from the menu. Had hot tea, sodas etc. The egg tarts desserts were warm & delicious. On the 2nd floor. Parking in pay lots. His & Her bathrooms in the front. Watch out for the service robot it sometimes delivers food from the kitchen to the dining area.
With so many restaurants in Flushing, it's hard to compete. This is a classic Cantonese Family style dining restaurant. Night manager and staff are few in numbers on a weekday. I remember when this place used to be packed all the time. Food is very good but expect to pay the newer inflated prices. A standard banquet menu starts at $588 with about 8 dishes which include a lot of seafood and proteins. Still a good value given the portion sizes. Best dish is the baked pumpkin with oxtail. Excellent flavor and texture. Their marble goby is the fish to try as well as the steamed flounder. I personally liked the steamed oysters with vermicelli - in which you order by piece. They suggest one per person (not a sharing dish). And the classic Signature fried rice is good. This last visit I was there for a birthday party and we were given some freebies, nice touch. (Don't order the fried chicken, too dry).
This restaurant has both a dim sum place and a high-end seafood restaurant for dinner. I’ve only been to the dim sum Part of the restaurant, and I think the food here is delicious. The Schumann and shrimp dumplings are amazing. The food is very fresh, and it always is very busy so there’s high turnover in food. The prices are also very reasonable. If you go during the week, from Monday to Friday, you get additional discount off your bill.
The restaurant was very full and the tables were occupied by large families, luckily just when we entered there was a table available :) Unfortunately dim sum cars wouldn't pass by our table :( We had to chase the carts to be able to order something. Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to eat anything. I would say the food is so-so. I've tried Dim Sum in different restaurants and almost all of them taste the same. I would recommend this place only if you come for a casual meeting with family/friends, drinking tea and talking while eating dim sum.
Came here for dinner party and had the private room services. It will not be the best Chinese food you ever had but is decent enough to be still recognized as Chinese food. I think overall, fry items tends to work better here vs other braised items. Is decent enough and doesn’t break the bank but don’t have too high of an expectation if you are coming for dinner. Large portion tho
Food - 2 stars Service - 4 stars Price - 4 stars While this place is packed, the food was not that great when I visited. Most dishes were lacking flavour and not salty enough. The only redeeming dishes was the bbq pork pineapple bun and tofu fa. Service was standard of a Chinese restaurant. Service staff were generally helpful when we requested certain dishes. Price was average as I went on a weekend. Weekday prices are cheaper. Was a 15 min wait on the weekend.
this is my go to coco location and i’ve never had an issue here ever and never thought i’d give a one star to. they recently added kiosks, but kept the register open with a cashier there, so I assumed the cashier would take my order (keep in mind, there’s a cashier plus two other people working in the back, so there’s 3 people on the shift). the guy on register, who I overheard be called something rhyming with the word bank, seemed slightly busy prepping cups with tapioca bubbles so I waited a bit to give him the benefit of the doubt since I myself work in the food industry. he sees me waiting to order, but continues prepping cups with bubbles/working on making drinks for other orders despite having two other people in the back who are working on the drinks too, having me wait for a good 5 minutes. there was a lady behind me who had a question and only then did he look up to answer her question, but not to take my order, directly going back to making drinks. i never got my order taken as i left due to being blatantly ignored and waiting a good amount of time. if they are no longer taking orders at the register, they should make it clear, not just ignore customers who choose to not use the kiosk and making them hopelessly wait to get their order taken. i understand he was maybe trying to help get orders moving, but taking my order would’ve took less than a minute. horrible customer service.
They’re literally paying attention more to taking pictures on Instagram. They’re their customers and they took my order wrong instead they gave me a slush without bubble bubbles. They should if you’re gonna do a job with a good cause I’m paying.
Out of the many boba shops located in flushing go anywhere but here! The male worker had a nasty attitude but I gave him the benefit of the doubt due to the employees working in tight corners, and the stress he may have endured throughout the day. Later on when drinking my boba, I found foil trash in my drink. This place has no regards for attempting to improve their customer service nor the quality of their drinks. Please go somewhere else, there’s so much better out there.
I went there yesterday. The drinks were OK, but one female staff member had a bad attitude, which really ruined my mood.
The website shows they close at 12:00, but they don’t let u order when it’s 11:55. She told me she doesn’t have anything left:)
Food was terrible. Har gow while coming out warm was presented with a terrible wrapping. The shrimp tasted off as though it was not properly defrosted or handled correctly during the cooking process. This same off taste continued for a majority of the food items. This indicates poor handling of the food items during cooking which leads me to suspect inconsistent final taste in general . One day it may be spot on , another day it is completely off. Lo mai gai had one of the worst sticky rice taste I have had in a long time. Rice was way too soft. The veggies not shown was cooked in too much oil . I would not recommend this place based on a few other better quality dim sum restaurant nearby at a lower price point. Service carts came 5-10minutes after seating which is unusually slow for brunch time. Not doing any favors here. Only good is the lighting is solid and the location is central in flushing.
I ordered scramble eggs with baby shrimps for lunch. Look what i posted. Its not the first time. I ordered General Tso's chicken over rice. They all are digusting. The rice wasnt good too. They used bad quality rice. Its not like good quality kind of rice moist. Its like near porridge rice. Even a child can cook better than you.
