Absolutely such a delight to dine here. Outside (and inside seating). Sat beside the firepit outside and started with drinks and appetizers. Goat croquettes are so, so delicious. The drinks are unique and really tasty. For a meal, we both had the salmon bowl. Was all fresh, well presented and 100% mouth-watering good. Our server was a delight, she was attentive and knew her customers. The outside seating we really enjoyed and would definitely recommend this restaurant to any on traveling to the area. Parking behind the hotel was easy to access. Truly a delightful experience.

I dined at S3 last night for the first time with family. There were a few hiccups with our dining experience but we had the absolute BEST waitress…SIERRA. The food was delicious! I’ll definitely be back!

Just wanted to share what a great experience we had with Trevor as our bartender at SSS. Not only was he so very friendly and nice, but talented and also took the time to educate us on a new drink. We definitely hope to see him again, next time we’re in town.

Best sushi restaurant we have ever been to - fresh fish flown in from a fish market in Japan 3x a week. We got the Sashimi Box for $60 which had 7 varieties of fish and came with 2 pieces each so we each could try the fish. There was not a piece in there that tasted too fishy. Everything was tender, delicate, clean, fresh and the house made soy sauce was not too salty. A delicious and fun culinary voyage. To start, we had the Goat Cheese croquettes which were really good and got two each to eat. We sat outside with a good view of the ocean and people. Service was friendly and good as well.

We went over memorial day weekend for champagne brunch (now $50pp with choice of 4 champagnes). Our server Chris was fantastic and was happy to let us order at our own pace since we were sharing all the dishes. We try to go every few months as it's a great way to spend a sunny day

My absolute favorite place to dine in Fort Lauderdale! Nothing beats happy hour on the patio than when you’re dining with Jackie! The experience and service is always a 10/10. Jackie greets you with such a warm welcome and is very knowledgeable on all menu items. She always makes sure your water is full (you know how hot it can get on the beach) and you’re never without a cocktail in hand! Make sure to try all her recommendations and stay for the sunset. You won’t be disappointed. Management really knows what they’re doing and I can’t wait to come back!!!

I had Cameron as a server he was a phenomenal server! He told us about the whole menu, most ordered items, his tops that he would recommend, best drinks!! As a chef and a manager myself i was really impressed with the service. All the food was amazing and cocktails and wine also!

I liked this place! Keep in mind the food is extremely fatty. Personally I love that. Their edamame was really flavorful. My one complaint is they didn’t give soy sauce for the raw fish.

Phenomenal!! We hosted my graduation dinner here at S3, for a party of 20, and everyone had a fantastic time! Let's talk about the atmosphere first. Ambiance was fantastic, we were seated at a large combined table with ample space. Lighting was great and we loved the excellent service by our wait staff team. The menu was pre-selected and the wait staff did a phenomenal job timing the arrival of food such that we had ample time to enjoy our drinks and chat prior to digging in. We first had the edamame and korean fried chicken, followed by some salmon, grilled octopus, one of the best churascco steak I've ever had, shrimp noodles, and to close it out, a delicious, velvety soft double chocolate cake. I would highly recommend S3 to my family and friends without any hesitation. They are a great place to host celebratory dinners!!

Love the view and menu items! The music is a bit loud so it makes it hard to hear sometimes but overall, great experience! We got the arrow roll, Manhattan roll, salmon bowl, and bass with potatoes, veggies, etc.

This is a MUST!!!!! Me and my sister came here and we had the best seats and best view we were across from the beach. The food was amazing. Sierra was our server and she was wonderful she made our first time experience a pleasant one.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We went to S3 on Fort Lauderdale Beach last Tuesday for a family outing, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The delicious sushi and beach vibes atmosphere were great, but what really made the night memorable was our server, Antonio R. He was attentive, warm, and genuinely cared about making sure everyone at our table felt taken care of. Excellent service like that is rare these days — Antonio truly elevated the entire experience. We’ll definitely be back.

This is an all around great place. The food is phenomenal at a reasonable price for what you’re getting. If you like sashimi, the Omakase chef choice is something to experience, you can’t go wrong. Our server Cassidy was very friendly and attentive. Her expertise of the menu heightened the experience making it an excellent night out.

We loved this place! The views! The friendly and accommodating staff and the flavorful food was amazing. I’m definitely bringing my family back for seconds. Also, We’re non alcoholic drinkers, when the General Manager found out he provided us with Mock-tails. This was a pleasant surprise and was much appreciated. :)

My wife took my daughter and I here while on vacation for my birthday. Every dish we had was very good. From the Goat Cheese Croquettes to the sushi my wife and daughter had to the Korean Fried chicken which was my dish. The waiter surprised us with their Blondie as a birthday gift. It was fantastic. Both the host and the waiter provided us with amazing service. We arrived almost an hour before our reservation time and they still sat us promptly. I highly recommend to any friends visiting the area.

I love this place so so much!its food is spectacular soooo good and delicious thank god I ate here!really enjoyed the honey truffle salmon nigiri so yummy you can’t really taste the honey but it also feels a bit smoky! If you’ve been to “tiki tie” this is 100000000 times better! You will love this place with all your heart just like our family! I don’t have words to describe the amazing food I just had. Fresh with beautiful presentation and amazing customer service. I came here with my family to have a birthday dinner. We had an amazing time here despite waiting on a table although we had made a reservation. THE SERVICE WAS TOP TIER - THE FOOD KEPT COMING WITH LITTLE OR NO WAIT TIME! The food were delicious and the vibes were immaculate. Been coming for years finally brought my daughters and they loved it. Dessert was the best we got the blondiie and the doughnuts. Sushi is always great… the dynamite roll is excellent

I came here with my boyfriend on a Friday night for Valentine’s Day and it was one of the most memorable meals we’ve had since we started dating 4.5 years ago. Our waiter (I believe his name was Cameron) had the entire menu memorized including drinks, food and dessert and was more than happy to give us his recommendations which turned out to be fabulous. We ordered dirty martinis to start (best dirty martini I’ve ever had) and an order of the edamame which was delicious. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and my boyfriend got one of the sushi boxes and every piece he tried was delicious! Our server was attentive and charismatic throughout the night and even gave us recommendations for after our meal on where to go next (the rooftop upstairs called Nube). We finished our meal here with espresso martinis and one of their desserts which was like a condensed tiramisu cake. It was absolutely mouth watering. We will absolutely be coming back the next time we’re in town!! 10/10 experience all around!!

I will be back the sushi was amazing! I highly recommend trying the Neo-Tokyo roll…. It is simply *chefs kiss*. The ambiance at this location is great, right on the beach and you get the beachside breeze both indoors & out. The menu is designed to be shared family style. 2 sushi rolls along with the bang-bang shrimp appetizer was enough to leave my date and I more than satisfied. Had a wonderful dinner here earlier this week. The food was excellent, the booth seating was cozy, and the service was superb. Our server, Terry, went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The whole family has been talking about our dinner at S3 for the last couple days! We have more family coming into town, and we’re planning to bring them too and ask to sit in Terry’s section. Extra shoutout for Terry accommodating someone with Gluten intolerance!

I came here last week and had a great time! Our server was very friendly and the atmosphere was vibrant. I had a wonderful view of the beach from where we were sitting and enjoyed a three course meal. Some of what we tried includes the tomato bread, bao buns, braised short rib, and oak grilled fillet. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an upscale experience.

Came here for work dinner. The food was amazing and great service. Loved the edamame and beef carpaccio! Wow, the beef carpaccio was the best dish by far! Also had hamachi and specialty tuna rolls. When they bring you a hand towel, smell it! Smelled so good. Was a nice touch!

S3 is my favorite restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. The food is excellent and we usually have decent service every time we go. Our last visit was exceptional, thanks to Sierra, our server, who took excellent care of us. Her dynamic personality added to our overall experience. She knows the menu well and made excellent suggestions. We’ll be asking for her next time we’re there.

Oh my god. Literally the best meal we’ve ever had in our lives. The chef overnights fresh fish from across the world for their sushi/sashimi meals. We had edamame as an appetizer (sounds boring) but.. it was fantastic! We had the dynamite roll and a crab/wagyu sushi roll as well as filet mignon and wasabi mashed potatoes (mixed with something glorious). Chris H. was our server. He was super knowledgeable when it came to the unique menu items. He was super friendly and we didn’t feel rushed. We are going back tomorrow for lunch or dinner… maybe both. What an amazing dining experience

Came across this nice place that has seafood and in a good location on the beach. Staff could have been a slight bit better it was rush hour so understandable,but the atmosphere and food was good for it. I still had an amazing time with an amazing view while enjoying my night. Food came out in a timely manner but didn’t get a check up after food was delivered to us and needed a few things. But, amazing place to have date night, special occasions or family dinner. I won’t be visiting if I’m in the area but my experience was decent enough to have a great night and amazing food.

Had a great experience at this restaurant! Came here for a business dinner, and the food was just amazing. I'm a vegetarian, so I'm used to settling for whatever happens to be available to accommodate my dietary requirements, but once the staff found this out, they rearranged the event menu to have actually tasty courses, rather than making me feel like an afterthought. It was that good that a few of my teammates and I returned the following day for brunch! The ambiance, service, and waterfront views only enhanced the experience. Can't wait to go back, highly recommend!

My husband and I have spent the last two New Years eves at S3. We’ve been fortunate to have Terry as our server both years! Terry is awesome. He is so pleasant, helpful and made us feel very special (even though the restaurant was so busy!). We first discovered S3 Restaurant back in 2016 and loved it so much that it’s become a must-visit every time we’re in the Boca/Deerfield Beach area. This time around, we enjoyed the sushi, edamame, bang bang shrimp, and a couple of refreshing mocktails—everything was absolutely wonderful!

We had a wonderful dinner at S3 last night! The place was packed, so there was a bit of a wait for our table despite having a reservation. However, the food and service were excellent. We shared the goat cheese croquettes, Korean chicken bites, and crispy rice cakes, and everything was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the shishito peppers were a great accompaniment. We finished off the meal with a decadent four-layer coconut cake - be warned, it's huge but definitely worth sharing! Overall, S3 is a great spot for a special occasion or a fun night out.

This restaurant is lovely. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is fantastic. My husband ordered the sashimi box and couldn’t stop raving about how fresh and delicious the fish was. I ordered the lo mein and it was amazing. Not your run of the mill lo mein that’s for sure. Terry was our server and he was wonderful. He was very accommodating and helped us with all our selections. This is a must when your are in Fort Lauderdale beach.

What a great weekend staying at the Hilton. We had the pleasure of seeing Shawna all weekend working bar shifts. She was very attentive and took care of almost all the patrons. She was very knowledgeable on all the food and specialty mocktails. We truly hope to be back and see Shawna. She is a true asset to the corporation.

Had a great brunch here today. Our server Ñam was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Majority of my party had the bottomless mimosas and I the fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade. For our meals we had the S3 Burger, Shrimp & Grits, Kale Salad w Salmon, Shrimp Tacos and sushi. Everyone enjoyed their food. S3 is very pretty with awesome vibes right on the beach with beautiful views. Give them a try, you won’t regret it.

We had dinner last night with some friends from Texas. They are in town on vacation so we met them there. We had reservations at 6:30. The food was fantastic!! we had The Tuna Rice Cakes, Monkey Bread and Bang Bang Shrimp to start. The Sea Bass and all the Sushi we tried was amazing too. Sierra, our server, was the BEST! She was very helpful in picking out what to try and she was on point with drink refills and checking in on us. we will certainly go back and hopefully Sierra will still be there!!!

Cardinal since of not having proper eating utensils on the table before the food arrived. took forever to get a dessert menu and order after dinner beverages and then get a check. all food was great. really good fries and fish dishes. make sure you get your valet parking validated or face an exorbitant parking fee.

We had our 20th anniversary lunch here today and it was such an amazing experience. We recently travelled to Japan and the sushi here took us back to Tokyo. Highly recommend! Our server Cameron had great recommendations and was very knowledgeable. Thanks man!

S3 has become our favorite happy hour restaurant/bar. We love the atmosphere and food. The happy hour has great food options and fantastic prices on drinks. The bar experience is what keeps us coming back. Denis and Jeff are absolutely the BEST! They're fun and they make fantastic drinks! Came in tonight for my first time, my servers name was Anthony. I let him take the reins on the food choices I just felt like I was in great hands and man was I right. I was blown away by not only how good the food was, but also the attentiveness and personability from Anthony he really went above and beyond the whole night. Easily the best dining experience I’ve had this year front to back. Will definitely stop by on my next visit and will request Anthony every time.

We stopped here for a Sunday brunch after our cruise. Our server, Janin, was amazing and made the whole experience 5 star!! We had the bottomless mimosas and several apps and entrees- all of which were delicious. A+ for service and atmosphere! The manager also came around several times to make sure that we were well served. He was also amazing.

Such a great experience at Sun Surf Sand! The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, the food and drinks were on point, and everything came out quickly. The atmosphere at S3 (Sun Surf Sand) is great — beautiful beach views, refreshing vibe inside, and excellent service. Our server Devin was super positive, attentive, and made the evening enjoyable. Drinks were also really good. 🍹✨ However, the food itself was disappointing. The sushi fell apart easily and tasted very average — I would rate it around 4/10. We also ordered the chicken ramen, but it was extremely salty. Overall, I’d give this place a 3/5: amazing atmosphere and service, but the food definitely needs improvement.

Excellent place along the Fort Lauderdale Beach strip. Valet parking only $10, (Very difficult to find meter parking) Huge, open restaurant with a very relaxed but sophisticated vibe. We went there for a birthday celebration.The menu is Pan-Asian but there are plenty of other dishes on the menu to satisfy guests that are not necessarily like Asian food. Our waiter, Trevor, was incredible and as close to a professional waiter as you can get; Knowledge of all dishes and specials by heart,no cheat sheet! One of the best waiters I have ever had the pleasure to meet! We brought our own cake and Trevor cut it for us! The service is really this restaurant's string point! The appetizers are plentiful and large, and so are the main dishes. Plenty to share if you so desire. I had the slow cooked beef ribs which were rich and soft. A bit too many sauces/purees for taste. The beef ribs were succulent enough and didn't really need anything else. The sushi was fresh and original. Tasty onion rings! Good drinks at a reasonable price. Overall a good experience, outdoor seating available with fire pits(Gas) and comfortable sofas.

Definitely one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to. This place is gorgeous and the food/drinks are amazing!! I’ve been here maybe 3 times, and every time has been absolutely amazing. The menu did change from the first time i came and i will say, best decision ever. The menu options are amazing and so are the drinks. This place is the best. One bad thing, in my opinion at least, this place is absolutely FREEZING. Please take a jacket if you’re sensitive to the cold lol.

The vibe here, the service from start to finish, the menu, the presentation— it’s been a very long time since a restaurant has executed highly on all levels for me. It was giving Las Vegas but on FLL beach— a great choice if you’re around the area or celebrating. We tried every appetizer as well as a few of the rolls as well. For dessert the blondie and donuts were great for the table. Overall truly a wonderful experience.

How wonderful experience with incredible sushi, sophisticated flavors but simple approach. This is high-end meets the beach, you couldn't ask for more! The execution is absolutely perfect both in flavor and temperature meaning that your sushi is ideal, the rest of the food is also wonderful. Try the octopus appetizer, It is splendid. The corporate sushi chef has really done a wonderful job transforming the menu and elevating S3 to one of the best spots to enjoy fresh fish on the beach or off. You can't beat the wonderful friendly service and the location is ideal, how often do you get to enjoy delicious fish while looking at the ocean? Don't miss this one!

The food was absolutely delicious. We had an assortment of items from the menu and each was perfect for what we were looking for - fusion Asian. Service wonderful and the view, music and furniture super enjoyable. We’ve been in Ft Lauderdale 24 hours and already been here twice.

We were in Ft Lauderdale for two days and ate here both days for lunch because it was so good the first time!!! Service is amazing and food is even more incredible!! The first day Trevor took care of us and the second Joshua took care of us. The ambiance is the perfect blend of beachy vibes and upscale sushi bar. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend if you are looking for fresh sushi in Fort Lauderdale. The spicy tuna rice cakes are to die for!!!!!

This is a great sushi spot right on the beach. The location is hard to beat. Service is fast and friendly, making it perfect for a sunset dinner on a Thursday night. Jinan took great care of us! The cocktails were excellent. We had the Mamasita and the Smoke Signal Old Fashioned, and the menu offers a solid selection of sushi. We started with the Tuna Crispy Rice, and then I ordered the Neo Tokyo and the Angry Hamachi, and my boyfriend had the Lucky Roll and the Surf and Turf Roll. Prices are fair considering the quality and the beachside setting (about $105 per person). Overall, it’s a relaxed and enjoyable spot, worth a visit if you’re in the area.

The good: The location is across from the beach, it creates a wonderful date atmosphere. The bad: The food was ok, not completely bland but it lacked flavor. The drinks were good but lacked enough alcohol...could have ordered a lemonade if I wanted a fruit drink. It was also difficult to find parking. The review. Great setting overlooking the beach. Terrific server and loved the small touches : the expanding hand towels bathed in hot lemon grass water, the wagyu carpaccio served under a hood w smoke! Very large thai salad was great for sharing. Good value for quality and experience. Good range of wines by the glass.

The food here was amazing! I started with the Mamasita cocktail with patron reposado tequila and strawberry, which was super refreshing. Then I had the goat cheese croquettes with guava – crispy, creamy, and so good. For my main dish, I tried the Dynamite Roll, and wow… one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had. The pear gave it such a unique and tasty flavor. The only downside to my experience was the hostess, who had a noticeably bad attitude and was not welcoming at all. But the server made up for it – super nice and really attentive. Overall, the food was delicious, and I’d definitely come back again.

Had dinner with a large group of 10 people. We also enjoyed drinks before and after dinner at the outside bar. The food was very good. We had a large assortment of sushi that was all excellent. The server was very knowledgeable however she seemed like she disliked her job and wasn’t super pleasant. The service at the bar was excellent and we really enjoyed our service outside! Definitely a fun place to have a few drinks and dinner. The beach and ocean is always a favorite background!

Located in the rear of the hotel. You have to walk through the lobby to get to the restaurant or beach entrance. Atmosphere is very welcoming, cool vibes and wonderful servers. The drinks and food were very GOOD! The lighting at night is very warm and inviting! You won’t be disappointed!

Service here is excellent — the staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely on it. The drinks, though… mixed bag. A couple were fine, but most were pretty “meh,” and a few I wouldn’t order again. Food-wise, they actually do a solid job. Everything we ordered from the *regular* menu was tasty and well done. Big tip though: skip the happy hour bites. They sound fun, but they don’t deliver. Order from the normal menu and you’ll be much happier. Overall, great service + good food + drinks that need some work. Not a bad spot — just order wisely :)

Location is right across the beach and city's main road. There are two entrances, one from the hotel side and one from the street side. The place is always crowded and noisy, no matter the sitting location. While the food was fresh and truly a testament to fusion food, everything was too expensive and too much. Dishes felt less like an attempt to creatively combine multiple flavours and more like a challenge to see how much ingredients you can stack on a plate. The food wasn't offensive otherwise. Price reflects the location and young-rich clientele of people, not the food.

I just happen to stop by here for a quick lunch at 1pm and went back with my husband the next day for dinner. I can recommend this spot for a dinner date. The atmosphere was really nice, very intimate and classy.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here last week. The service was a little slow but it didn't seem to be the fault of our server. Jinan was excellent. It appeared that our server's tables were very spread out in the resturant. We sat "outdoors" and it was very comfortable and a nice atmosphere. We ordered the Wagyu Carpaccio, Thai Tuna Roll, Fried Rice Stone Bowl with Chicken and the cheesecake. Everything was delicious. We also had the Oceanside cocktail....marvelous. We will definitely be back. I will say this though.....the booth seating is cushioned and seats a person very very low..... so it wasn't the most comfortable for eating with the table near my chin. Next time we'll choose a table rather than a booth.

Pretty good! Almost a 5, but just felt a little short of it - or maybe I'd need a second visit. Great location across the street from the beach, and I like the walk-up bar that's right off the street corner. The grilled octopus was respectable - good, just not quite the best I've had. Overall good atmosphere for the place, but service was a little slow. Still, I'd totally go back. It's absolutely worth a shout especially if you're already in the area.

They seated our large party of 14 with short notice and did a great job managing everybody’s orders. Overall food was better than we expected considering it’s in a hotel. We were eating at the Conrad the night before menu is very similar, but everyone left full happy and they took care of us.

S3 has unbeatable ocean views, delicious sushi rolls (Neo Tokyo roll is Devine) good service BUT the men’s bathroom reeked of urine like a cats litter box. Management needs to sort that out.

The ambience is great and food is good. Overall a great vibe for a fun dinner after a long day.

Nice place to have brunch, lunch or dinner. Prices goes up on dinner. Wagyu beef is very tasty costs something around $40 Bucks Plus tips.

Solid 4 stars! This is a great sushi spot right on the beach - the location is hard to beat. You can enjoy fresh rolls while listening to the waves and soaking in the view. Service is fast and friendly, making it perfect for a casual lunch or a sunset dinner. The cocktails are nice and cold, and the menu offers a good selection of sushi and small plates. Prices are fair considering the quality and the beachside setting. Overall, a relaxed and enjoyable spot - definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Came here late in the evening since they stay open pretty late. The restaurant has a very romantic atmosphere and the outdoor fire pit is a nice touch that keeps the patio warm. It’s a good spot for a girls night out or a date night. The sushi and omakase felt very overpriced for what you get. We did order two pieces of wagyu and toro nigiri, which were good, but overall the sushi pricing didn’t really match the value. Here’s everything else we ordered: Salmon Crispy Rice – Very good. Crunchy and topped with jalapeño. I liked it. Grilled Octopus – A few pieces of octopus that were tender, but it was barely charred. The plate was mostly fava beans… Zulu Pork Ribs – Fall off the bone tender. Flavorful and actually pretty filling. Chilean Sea Bass – Flaky but bland. This was the most disappointing dish. For $49, I’ve definitely had much better. Not worth it in my opinion.

4 of us went here on a Sunday in July 2025. It was busy but didn't seem SLAMMED. With a reservation we still had to wait 30-40 minutes to be seated. The atmosphere and ambience is AMAZING as the restaurant is well decorated and right across from the beach. The food was AWESOME. Where they fell short was customer service and timing. Adriana was our waitress, maybe she was having a bad day or the restaurant was just understaffed. We ordered drinks as we were seated, nothing fancy, the drinks took 35 minutes. Came after our appetizers. The food took long as well. Would give them another chance one day, because of the food and ambience.

Overall we had a great lunch, and I would probably come back but while the food was tasty - there are a lot of areas of opportunity. The octopus starter had maybe less than 100gr of octopus, it seemed like a joke. The poke bowl had way too much rice, the tacos were served without a plate (difficult to eat). We also had to wait a bit to be seated although we had a reservation.

Food was very very average. Not a solid sushi spot. Views are very nice though, nice ambiance. Octopus dish was tasty but sushi was below average. I would not come here if your goal was to try high end sushi. I would recommend Takato or Miso which are much better if you’re just looking for delicious sushi.

We attended this restaurant on Saturday March 15 2025 for date night while on vacation in Fort Lauderdale. We didn’t have reservations and the restaurant was full, so we sat at the back bar. The bartender at the back bar name was Cindy. She was very good attentive and the drinks were fire. The food was very great !! And the atmosphere was great. So We went back for my fiancé‘s 60th birthday with family on March 18 and we had reservations. Our experience this time was not good. . Our waitress was not attentive. The drinks were horrible. The food was cold and the restaurant was not that crowded. Our hotel that we stayed at had given us complementary drinks coupons for the restaurant that we gave to the waitress to take off our bill. That I realized on our way back to Illinois the next day was not applied to our bill. So I would give Saturday night of five star and Wednesday a 2 star. These photo are from Saturday night

I came here with high expectations, and it fell a little short. Don't get me wrong it's a phenomenal vibe/atmosphere -- beautiful sights of the beach and a nice breezy outdoor section with talented live music. Staff was incredible and the ambiance was top notch. But the food did not delivered as I'd hoped. Apps were okay (edamame, goat cheese croquettes, grilled oysters, crispy rice). Sushi was okay. It was good, but not what I would consider the best seafood option by the beach. I do want to come back tho and try the bone marrow. The table next to us ordered that and it looked delicious! EDIT: Sarabeth is amazing, ask for her as your server!

I’m a local neighbor and stopped in for a late lunch around 3:08 PM. The food itself was good I ordered the shrimp tempura, Berry Breeze drink, Milk Money bread, and edamame. The edamame was my favorite, the sushi I had previously was delicious, and the Milk Money bread was good, though I wish the butter had been softer so it was easier to spread. Unfortunately, the service at the bar really took away from the experience. The bartender on duty (white hair braided into a ponytail) initially appeared welcoming, but after I sat down, there was little to no acknowledgment. There was no wait, yet no “I’ll be right with you” or check-in at all. I had to repeatedly make eye contact just to be acknowledged and was honestly close to walking away. When opening my tab, I let her know I would be paying cash, but I was still asked for a card. I later noticed a $15 charge with no explanation that it was a pending authorization. I only asked about it because my friend noticed the same charge. While she confirmed it would fall off, the response felt dismissive and unnecessary comments were made. As I was finishing up, the interaction became uncomfortable. It felt rushed and as though I was being subtly pushed to leave, which was embarrassing especially since other guests at the bar noticed. I was not rude or loud; I was simply there enjoying lunch. I’ve worked in luxury hospitality, and this experience felt very unwelcoming and distasteful. The food was good, but service matters. I won’t be returning, especially if this bartender is working.

We had a reservation but were seated 20+ min late, at almost 9pm--no apology, just "we're busy." The cocktails were totally fine. The menu was really exciting but everything disappointed. We ordered the stone bowl fried rice and while it tasted fine, the shiitake mushrooms were not in fact shiitake and the stone pot was not warmed up--it was purely decorative. The sushi rice for all the sushi was shockingly sweet (we spit out a couple pieces), and the Korean fried chicken was really salty. The Thai chopped salad was drowning in dressing. The mashed potatoes never came. We liked the concept, but we won't be coming back. The only dish we finished was the monkey bread. The atmosphere was generally harried and we were handed the check less than an hour after sitting down.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME GO - GO TO TAKATO - Me and my pregnant girlfriend came down here for a vacation and we’re looking up good restaurants to visit, figured this looked appealing from the outside only to be sat at a table and no one came from 25 mins. We went to the front to speak with them and let them know we are leaving as it was not packed or overcrowded. Didn’t have even a glass of water. TAKATO WAS A 10/10 servers and crew were amazing not to mention the food was mouth watering.

Very disappointing experience from start to finish. Our waitress repeatedly tried to upsell in a way that felt inappropriate and pushy. She asked every single person at the table if they wanted caviar added to their entrée. She also attempted to add extras by being misleading—when we ordered bang bang shrimp, she asked “with mashed potatoes,” and when we asked if it came with them, she said no. Another attempted upcharge. Service was poor throughout the meal. Our water glasses were left empty for long stretches of time. When we asked for sriracha for an appetizer, it arrived only after the appetizer was completely finished. At one point, my girlfriend took a sip of my Coke because our waters hadn’t been refilled. Without asking us, at the very end of the meal, the waitress brought her a separate glass of Coke and then added a separate soda charge to the bill. On a bill exceeding $400, she still tried to charge us $3 for a soda. When I questioned it, the waitress said they “don’t allow sharing of drinks” and refused to remove the charge. She had to involve the manager. When the manager came over, we calmly and politely explained the situation. He responded rudely, told us to “calm down” despite us not being aggressive at all, and warned us not to get “chippy” with him. He said he had already removed the soda charge—so it was unclear why he came over just to argue. All of this escalation over a $3 soda on a $400+ bill is absurd. If they had simply told us upfront they were adding a Coke instead of quietly placing it on the table at the end of the meal and slipping it onto the bill, it likely wouldn’t have been an issue. To make matters worse, the food wasn’t even good. I’ve been to S3 multiple times over the past 2–3 years, and the quality has very clearly gone downhill. For the price point they’re charging, the food no longer justifies the cost. Even putting the soda incident aside, the service was unacceptable: constant upselling, misleading questions, lack of basic table service, declining food quality, and unprofessional management. This was a thoroughly unpleasant dining experience, and I would not recommend this restaurant based on how we were treated.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was extremely uncomfortable and disappointing. From the moment we were seated, the service felt dismissive and unwelcoming. We genuinely felt racially profiled. The menu clearly listed bottled options, but when we ordered a bottle, we were told it was “not available to us,” with no clear explanation. Simple, reasonable requests like substituting beans for fried rice were flatly denied, even though this is a common accommodation in most restaurants. The server, Lamia, was rude throughout the experience and spoke to us in a condescending tone. When my friend ordered a drink, the server assumed we were sharing it and instructed her to move the drink to the very edge of the table because I did not have ID. This was embarrassing, unnecessary, and handled very poorly. Nothing we asked for was accommodated, and we were consistently treated as though we were inconveniences rather than paying customers. The overall experience felt discriminatory and uncomfortable, and it completely overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable meal.Management seriously needs to address customer service and bias training. No one should feel singled out or disrespected while dining.

The location and ambience are very nice, which initially set a good expectation. Unfortunately, the service did not meet that standard. At the greeting station, three employees were present but made no eye contact and did not say hello. We gave our name and were simply told, “This way,” with no welcome or acknowledgment. It felt uninviting and unprofessional. Our server appeared lost and confused throughout the meal, which further detracted from the experience. While no one was overtly rude, the overall service was poor and lacked basic hospitality. With so many excellent dining options in Fort Lauderdale, we will not be returning.

Hate to post this regarding a favorite place of mine. I live a couple blocks away. But today the service was an abject disaster. Woefully understaffed. Over 20 minutes just to get a drink. Ordered food and left after waiting another half hour. Bartenders are awesome people but the Restaurant People management needs to do better and staff their restaurant better. I went to Takato’s and service as always there is awesome. S3 needs to up their service standard.
