The Clam Bar Freeport Reviews
The father, Jerry Bracco and the sons run this street / water side eating establishment which can seat about 400 patrons with 40 boat slips. Daytime reggae music beaming from the speakers. Nightly bands play music on speakers til 10, then the switch get thrown and only blue tooth music thru headphones can be enjoyed. so if you come here and a band is playing and you don't hear music that is why. Now that is a gimmick to keep the neighbors happy.
Good summer vibes. The oysters and clams are incredibly fresh, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. Clemente behind the bar is a real gem. His friendly service and engaging personality make the experience even better. He’s super attentive and never lets you wait for the next round. The vibe at Bracco’s is lively, especially during the summer months with live music adding to the atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot to kick back, enjoy food, and soak in the scene. If you’re looking for a fun spot on the Nautical Mile, Bracco’s is definitely the place to be!
Best soft shell crab 🦀 in south shore. 🥇🥇 Love sitting here and watching the boats cruise by. The live bands & music on weekends are a plus. Doreen adds a special touch at the bar. Look for the gorgeous blonde on Thursday & Sunday. Ask for Julia otherwise. 👍 PROS 1) fresh oysters & seafood 2) boat parking 3) live bands 4) happy hour 5) most accommodating venue 6) cyclist friendly CONS 1) Pricey
Great vibes!! Great music. Can dress casual and have a fun night, either dancing, by their fire pit, sitting at their many many tables available. Service is super quick! Food was good and drinks on point! On the Nautical Mile 100% recommended. Parking does get full fast and you'll have to park in the neighborhood (in which I did) and well worth it!
Julia our server was the absolute best! It is because of she that me and my family have returned over and over. The live music and VIP section were great. Live this location. Food and drinks are good as well. Must visit if you're going to Nautical Mile
This was my very first time to the Vaunted Nautical Mile and it did not disappoint. There are so many options for food here however there massive outdoor patio and the Live Reggae band reeled me in.. As you can see in the fotos to follow, alot of fun..I was hungry and I ordered Broiled Flounder and Veggies💙💙💙 a bit pricey but hey its the Whole experience thats included in the price..
Came here for lunch with some family and friends. We got there early so we sat at the bar. The bar tender was very sweet. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks were on point and the appetizer was yummy. When our party got there we moved to our table. We got to sample a lot of items. Fish and chips, lobster roll, wings, king crab, lobster, shrimp, mozzarella sticks, grilled chicken. The king crab was my fave. The only weird thing was we ordered the grilled chicken assuming it was a sandwich but it only came with lettuce, tomato and grilled chicken. Apparently we had to ask for the bun :/ it wasn’t a deal breaker though, would visit again!
The food was amazing. Amy our sever was very attentive. Seafood tower was the bomb! Fish tacos were amazing as well. I had a Don Julio margarita. Did i mention I had 2? Went there in a monday for lunch but I can tell the night life here is on point. Loved seeing the surrounding residents in the bay with the boats and jet skis. We’ll definitely be back.
It was my first time here. We are two weeks away from Memorial Day weekend, and they are already open. It was a Monday afternoon, and people were there. Decided to sit outside, and the bugs began to bother. They provided us with an off spray. The food was fresh and delicious. I could only imagine in the summertime.
We had a wonderful experience here. We went on a holiday during lunch and it was delightful sunny day. parking was a breeze for this reasons also. By the water is exactly where we wanted to be. We were welcomed with a smile by a team of hostesses. They allowed us to pick any table at first and then the hostess recommended her favorite table. We soon realized its because a group of graceful Swans love to come visit that side of the restaurant. Kids enjoyed it and there was a calmness and serenity to having them around. They had a 2 for 1 drink special and a lobster for 2 special. Food, service, atmosphere was all excellent. Will return again soon.
Came here after a spending some hours at Jones Beach. Love it here. If you sit outdoors you get a great view. We had a variety of different appetizers and they were wonderful. They have a variety of cocktails that sound good but I had a draft and Jack Daniel's on the rocks. The drink was pricey $15 compared to the second highest I've paid which is $12 at Dorlan's in the Seaport. I didn't mind because the vibe and the view is outstanding. There was a band playing some good tunes. Watching the boats and jet skis going by plus seeing the seagulls flying was a wonderful addition. The crowd is diverse and friendly. The service is a little slow but it is a big place so it's understandable. Definitely want to go back.
Because of all the violence down on the nautical mile they do not serve bottles or glasses. Everything is in a disposable cup. Same with the trays that serve the food. Service was a little slow and the food was a little slow. It's also an expensive restaurant. But they do have outdoor seating and they have an outdoor bar and an inside bar. And the food is not enough for the price. They should really do a family style for the prices you're paying for food.
Food was great atmosphere great music was vibing scenery was nice loving the waterfront views. Couldn't take my drink home I asked the waitress for a top (I had the fishbowl drink) I wish she would've mentioned I had to drink it before leaving. I threw it away cause I couldn't finish it. Waste of $35 oh well won't purchase that again. We were able to do hookah also (additional fee/private person ) hookah was bussing too. Overall I had a good time
Nice to sit outdoors on a nice summer night, and not to crowded on a Tuesday night. The staff was friendly, and attentive. I enjoyed Bracco's Famous Electric Lemonde. For appetizer, I highly recommend the Baked Clams topped with bacon. It is now on my bucket list to try to make it at home myself. The Key West Tacos with Brazilian Shrimp wasn't bad at all. Be aware, they do have an extra surcharge. Braccos should notify people before hand about the cost
Docked here on my boat for dinner. Place has a ton of outdoor seating and a live band and multiple outdoor bars. The staff is great. They have docking help, tons of waiters and staff to clear the tables. The crab cake appetizer was just ok, more like a fritter than crab cake. Could have had more crab and less filler. My wife's clam strips were excellent and my Mahi Mahi sandwich was great. French fries were perfect. I'd eat here again.
The atmosphere was great, a lovely day. The service was also good. The drinks were weak, very watered down and bleh- we got frose and the mango margarita. The shrimp and fries were delicious, very tasty. The crab cakes were not that great, especially for the type of restaurant- they tasted frozen and re heated. I would come back though, for the ambiance.
Great party in the outside area. Music switches to quiet concert style (with headphones) after 10pm. I sat inside to eat prior to going outside to enjoy. The food and the drinks were ok, definitely not worth the price paid for them. LI Iced tea at $22 a pop for a small cup and margaritas at $18 each for an even smaller size. Seems like a good place to go to dance for a while after enjoying a meal somewhere nearby.
This was my first time at bracco’s and i dont think ill be returning, there were no options to sit inside which i didnt love and the bathrooms are tiny and could use a serious upgrade which they should be able to afford with the menu prices and sales from their merch but anyways on to the food, for the shrimp cocktail to be $20 and for them to not devein the shrimp is crazy, i know raw clams come with shells sometimes but mine had several, the mozzerella sticks were flavorless but the sauce had a nice taste, the fries were nothing special either, however the fried clams were probably the best bite of the meal the drinks were overpriced and very small. the server was nice but kinda disappeared at times,
I unfortunately have to report that revisiting this establishment again I was treated unfairly. I was not given a correct estimate to wait for a table. I end up having to wait half an hour longer. I ordered the buffalo wings. The wings arrived cold and not cooked completely. The staff was very rude. When I asked him to do it over again. This place is very dirty. The tables are sticky. There is no consistency in the drinks. I will not be revisiting this location they need to close this place down 100% Department of health violations.
We had some a couple of different dishes ... chicken sandwich, onion rings, hamburgers, fish and chips and they were not good. The bread of the chicken sandwich was saggy the fish and chips were greasy and the onion rings we returned. The waitress wasn't so attentive we kept having to look for her which was annoying since we were with kids. Obviously the atmosphere was nice since is on the bay and the music was nice. The food needs to be look at and service also.
