Tamper Room Fremont Reviews
I've never been to this particular coffee shop before, but the decor was honestly so quaint and perfect for my best friend and me, as well as open seating areas and delicious, filling, savory and sweet desserts. Since we couldn’t make up our minds on the croissant waffles, we ended up getting two apiece and then splitting them!! We both got a savory as well as a sweet waffle, and then we’ve got to try all four between both of us!! Perfect foodie, adventure!! We quite literally couldn't decide what we wanted so we bought two apiece and then split them!! a Macha Damien white chocolate mocha with oat milk I got was simply superb!! This place is so cute with great seats. I need to write more later!! I love all the local artwork as Well! There’s such a feeling of community and in a little mini art gallery, as I enjoy my coffee and lunch!!
This review is long overdue! I stopped by last summer while waiting for my car to be serviced at a dealership a few blocks away and was just looking for a place to kill time. I wasn’t sure what to order, but the Ube Croffle on the menu immediately caught my eye—it sounded too good to pass up. I’m so glad I ordered it! It was hands down the best croffle I’ve ever had: perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and chewy inside, with just the right amount of ube custard, coconut flakes, berries and condensed milk. Months later, I still find myself craving it, which is exactly why I had to come back and finally post this review. I’ll definitely be returning for another one (and probably won’t wait as long next time!).
I love this cafe! Great staff and atmosphere, it was fun to try their raspberry matcha! I have also enjoyed their banana matcha and am looking forward to trying the pistachio nougat latte ☺️🍵
Cute cafe with lots of small items for sale that add to the atmosphere. The Croffles are delicious, made fresh and can be sweet or savory. Specialty drinks available with plenty of add-on choices. Caffeine free options. Well priced.
This is the best mocha in the Fremont-Newark area. Ive been to about twenty coffee shops and tried their mocha at this point. You have to trust me on this. They make their own dark chocolate sauce in-house and it shows. Deep, rich, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Attached are photos of their menus and storefront, obscured by a large tree. Easy to miss. Hard to forget once you’ve had their mocha. Staff is friendly and interior is cheerfully vibey. Got some outside seating too.
Tried the banana hojicha here and it totally surprised me in the best way. It was my first time having hojicha, and I’d describe it as tasting like black tea but smoother and lower in caffeine. I never thought banana and tea could pair well, but somehow, it just works! And the croffle avocado toast? So good. They take a croissant, press it in a waffle iron, and the result is something super soft, flaky, and just unique. Topped with avocado, it’s both comforting and a bit fancy. The café itself is adorable. Lots of cat-themed merch on the side.
First time having a croffle, they were great! Coffee was super good as well. Bathroom was also nice and clean
First time here , I went with the honey lavender as suggested by the barista. Was creamy and sweet . The croffle was omg amazing would come here again . Lots of people on their laptops here
I was here with my daughter for tea and snacks. It was my first time here and hence thought to try it out. We ordered lavender latte for me and another one matcha latte. We ordered an avocado toast sandwich which we split between us as we were not that hungry. I enjoyed everything and the ambience is also very cool and it was pretty much packed in the afternoon. The service is great and quick. We didn't have to wait for a long time. Overall, it was a great experience and glad that there's one more tea shop to try out among many others.
i just got some cappuccino’s and Americano here. very good coffee and cute shop
If you're in the area you need to try this place! Popped in for a bite and we got a latte and an iced matcha with oatmilk sweetened and it was very delicious. Also tried the Bacon and cheddar croffle which I've never had but it was very very worth it. Cute atmosphere, excellent service and there are local little businesses that have their stickers and things here. Picked up some stickers too, I appreciate that they have small businesses here also. Overall loved this experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Very cute cafe! They have small menu for drinks and some desserts. We had Pistachio Nought Latte cold from the special menu. Quantity was decent, but needed to add sugar. Spinach feta pastry was delicious!! Matcha croffle was good too. They have ample place inside to sit and chitchat. Separate section for small goodies to sell - mostly from local small business. Would visit again.
Visited this place a few days ago. First visit I had this matcha and kumquat drink. It was so good that we had to come back the next day. Second visit I had a hojicha iced latte and it was also really good. Service was fast and friendly. Also really loved the cool artwork and stickers that were for sale. Will be coming back for sure.

I came by tamper room to donate some items for their buy nothing drive, and decided to try some of their food and coffee while there. It was soooo delicious! I had the mozz, tomato, basil croffle with some chili flakes added on and it was mouthwateringly good, along with the white macadamia nut mocha with oat milk! I also really appreciate that they host so many queer craft night events, though I often can’t make them. Thanks for delicious treats and hosting a buy nothing drive with local groups!! ❤️

Love how they always have espresso tonics! Not a common item at most specialty coffee shops. Also fun to check out what local artists have on sale inside the store. This place never disappoints!
Solid cafe with a creative menu. The avocado toast was generously topped with cucumber, pickled onion, sprouts, and microgreens — fresh and satisfying. The matcha latte was well-made with nice latte art and a good balance of earthy matcha flavor. Cool artsy atmosphere that sets it apart from your typical coffee shop. Worth a visit if you're in Fremont.
What a very lovely little cafe. I walked here from the Hyundai dealership to wait while my car was being serviced and it was a lovely place to spend the time. The cafe interior is very pleasant, with art displayed along one wall and on the other wall is a selection of tchotchkes for sale, board games and other distractions for customers' use. Seating is great - there's plenty of it, with a mix of 2-person and 4-person options. Avocado-Toast is my go-to morning food in cafes like this, so that's what I ordered. While it was very well presented, it just wasn't to my taste. The toast was too dry and hard for my liking; I feel like it was pre-toasted, not done when I ordered it. I also didn't love the contrast of the pickled onions with the avocado. But I acknowledge that another person might totally love it. I also had a latte which was beautifully presented and delicious. Will I come back to The Tamper Room next time I'm waiting for my car? For sure! I look forward to trying some of the other lovely food options.
The atmosphere and customer service is nice, and I enjoy seeing the community events the space holds regularly. The cafe also has merchandise from local artists available for purchase, which is super cool. Food/Drinks-wise, I ordered one of their current seasonal drinks, a hot Earl Grey Matcha with oat milk (to-go), which came to around $9 total. It was unfortunately not very good-- really gritty/sandy in texture, which made for an unpleasant drinking experience. I do still want to try other menu items in the future, just unfortunately dissatisfied with the drink I got today.
We recently visited Tamper Room in Fremont and had a great experience. We ordered the Hazelnut Mocha Latte and Honey Lavender Latte—both were perfectly crafted and flavorful. The cafe has a cozy ambiance with chill, welcoming vibes, making it a great spot to relax or work on your hobbies. One of the highlights is their collection of art merchandise, which adds a creative touch to the space. Although we didn’t try any food this time, everything looked delicious, and we’re definitely planning to return to explore the menu further. If you’re in Fremont and looking for a charming cafe with excellent drinks and a creative vibe, Tamper Room is worth a visit!
Got a banana mocha latte but didn’t really taste any banana or mocha however the coffee quality was really good. Also love the atmosphere - there’s art for sale and Knick knacks too!

i got the ube matcha. it was a bit chalky but good enough flavor. i went in to study for a couple of hours. although there’s a nice wall of creative goodies for purchase, i think the interior furniture could be a bit more inviting, if that makes sense. inside was quite physically cold but also cold looking lol idk
