Alameda Fuenmayor Reviews
Exceptional, as described by Michelin starred chef Martin Berasategui in the NYT ‘a temple of gastronomy’. Even the simple endive salad- just endive leaves with a vinaigrette was superb
A feast!! We had “pochas”, fresh beans that have not been dried and thus count as a vegetable, with clams; “minestra” / mix of vegetables and a perfect “chuletón” / a Galician beef cut, a Spanish T-bone steak, I guess. It’s not cheap But we considered it worth the treat.
One of the Finest Foods that I’ve ever Eaten, Definetly I will come back Next Year Spring and also Recommend this Restaurant 100%
This place is not far away from getting a Michelin star. The quality of service and food is extraordinary. Artichokes are delicious with a super flavored sause. The meats/chuleta is their special dish but I believe their fish is better, super fresh and we'll cooked. Their cheesecake is also a must. Definitely will come back.
I've been here 3times (from NYC, separate trips) and each time I'm in Rioja I make a point to make a reservation because I know Esther and Tomas (grill-asador master !) Eugenia and Victor will take such good care of you with impeccable food .. course after course of just mouthwatering delights using only the freshest ingredients .. you are not here for foam or any of that nitro- experiments in vogue these days nor should you expect ginormous US portion (well, the txuleton IS a pretty hefty dish.. but do NOT skip it as the cut is aged and expertly grilled. Peter Luger ?! Pfft, stand in line and learn to cook like Sr. Tomas) In short, it's a must do... Can't wait till the next time I'm back in Rioja again and my mouth is already salivating ....
Best streak in Rioja. Michelin Star and table must be booked in good time ahead. We started with steak tartare and then the big chuleta to share plus a good bottle of the local red 🤗
The carabinero was out of this world, maybe the best I’ve ever had and the ravioli was excellent. Must tries.
Oustanding steaks accompanied by other excellent dishes and very good service.

I enjoyed the meal, the quality was excellent as was the service. Pricey, but I would definitely come again. I especially loved the dessert.
Wonderful experience at Alameda, probably best steak in Spain and among best ever. Wonderful service and staff, highly recommended
Awesome hidden gem. Steak was mouth watering.
We LOVE the place. Top tradicional with a twist dishes. Grilles TBone+Fish, a must! Top Rioja & Champagne wine list.
We stopped for lunch while cycling through Rioja. Although we did change out of our cycling jerseys, we were still a little nervous about our attire when we entered. Also nervous because our Spanish is near zero. The staff made us feel welcome, helped us choose our meals, allowed us to share the steak and found an excellent bottle of wine. Every bite of each course was beyond delicious. I think that my friend Walter (who came with us for this trip) has the best BBQ skills of anyone I know - but we were all amazed by the taste of this cut. I could go on, but also need to rave about the amazing fig and chocolate dessert. Alameda really was a highlight of this trip. We rented our bikes from LaRioja tours and Jose told us that this was one of the top 3 or 4 restaurants in all of Spain. We fully support that and look forward to returning.
Incredible dining experience. The staff was very kind, and the culinary experience was one of the best we've had across Spain. The chef cooked our meat and fish to perfection, couldn't have asked for more.
Wow, quite possibly the most special meal we had in the region! Impeccable service, quality and execution. The mango carpaccio was quite possibly the best and most unique dessert I’ve ever had. Well done folks, thank you thank you!
This is where wine deals happen with vineyard owners. The grill master is a genius and the chef creates divine dishes. The restaurant doesn't need any stars to muck up the tradition. Elegant seating and always great service. Keep it simple the first time with a panache, mero and then the chuleton topped off with a cheese cake. Vineyard owners dining there are curious to see what bottle each table orders. So make sure you pick the right one!
World class dining experience. We have eaten at many excellent restaurants worldwide and Alameda ranks up there with the best. Highest quality beef butchered to order by Thomas and prepared on his special grill. Absolutely amazing starters prepared by Thomas’s wife in the kitchen. The croquettes were the best. Other favorites were the lobster ravioli, red peppers, foie gras, leek and shrimp in puff pastry. Each dish was better than the next. Worth a trip to Rioja just to dine at Alameda. We ate there twice!

Actually 4.5 because services was inconsistent. Food was fantastic! The steak was the best we have had in Spain so far as promised by a local vintner. Cheesecake was hands down a beautiful expression. Dont skip the piquillo peppers and if you order the steak, dredge it through the oil from the pepper dish!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. food, nonetheless, is pricey and not as good as most of the Spanish restaurants I visited

Made a booking for 2 at 1500, arrived 20 minutes before that time. Could not find my booking. Showed it to them. Told to call back in 20 minutes. Went back. Told to wait across from the restaurant. By 1545 we gave up waiting and left. Got an apology on email but still very disappointed not to eat there.
