DTO Galveston Reviews
We took a spontaneous trip to Galveston and wanted to go for drinks. We picked this spot because it was rated high. If you come to Galveston, I highly recommend coming here. The bartenders are extremely polite, attentive and knowledgeable. As soon as we sat down, they provided us with glasses of water as we looked over the menu. We came on a Saturday. There was only 3 bartenders but they worked fast. They put a lot of detail into their drinks too. Brad attended to us and he was just the best. He recommended some great drinks and even made us a special drink that he was experimenting with. Will be coming back next time I visit Galveston!
Christmas! (or anytime) This place. Campbell was the bartender- whoa. This guy is super attentive to every drink he makes! He can swirl and stir with both hands ( four drinks at a time mind you) Great happy hour, super atmosphere! Back to Campbell- attentive- when making our drink, actually dumped the ice ( when there was a pause in the process) to assure our drink had no melted ice diluting it! Professional. A Must on your Galveston visit. We are locals. We know.
We go here quite often. The bar tenders are great. They make all their own syrups and everything is fresh. You don't get Walmart drink mix with bottom shelf liquor like some of the "Cocktail" bars we have been to in Houston. This is the sister bar to Pineapple Palace which is a speak easy located by walking through DTO and going out back to the slide door. Both places serve the best and are well worth making a trip for.
Went here with a friend a few weeks back with a long time friend. They have a really good selection of hand crafted drinks, friendly service, and loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be back again soon!
Don’t step foot on the island (Galvatraz) without parking yourself at DTO. “Expertly crafted libations” is their claim to fame. Go with the classic for a less than too sweet option. And DON’T be afraid of the Hemingway. Tori walked us thru the options. My wife is 7th generation Texan and she celebrated Tori’s Wisconsin(ess). Texas (& DTO) Forever!!
Super cute bar! The bar menu is fantastic, there are so many options and they are all amazing. The espresso martini was great. This is the Zombie. It’s a sweet/sour drink that comes on fire! After about 15 seconds the fire can be put out and stirred into the drink. But there were so many different options and they really weren’t too expensive at all, the drinks were anywhere from $8-$22, most of them being $10-$12. It’s a great place to wait If you are waiting to get a seat in pineapple parlor, but a great bar in general just to hang out at. Highly recommend!!
My friends and I love to come here and start the night. It’s not a hype place where you turn up. But they have sophisticated drinks with an infinite menu. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and can probably make you anything you think of. They are on the pricier side but there is plenty of alcohol in them.
Best cocktails on Galveston! We happened to try this place by chance and what a gem! Classic & craft cocktails that will not disappoint you! Best Painkiller, Three Dots & a Dash, plus so much many more. Our group had a blast and came back again on our last night. If you have not tried it, you must stop in and have a drink. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable.
This was the best find in Galveston in my humble opinion. In seven days we visited on four occasions (once going twice in a day)! Don't judge! DTO has the best drinks I've ever encountered. Not that I drink often at bars (as it's quite cost prohibitive), but DTO's prices are even extremely reasonable. Happy Hour drinks are $6 folks! SIX DOLLARS! We are talking world class craft cocktails here. I had several items on the menu, but kept coming back to the Old Fashioned. My wife LOVED the El Diablo. I ended up having a couple of those as well. Great blend of fruit, semi-sweet and a bit of heat. Chef's kiss! Brad is THE MAN. He may be some sort of local legend at this point. If not, he should be. If you don't go anywhere else in Galveston and you don't mind imbibing on occasion (or frequently for that matter), just go here. Honestly, I felt bad for anyone who walked in here and decided not to stay and try something. I literally would've paid for them!
We love DTO! Great spot for hand crafted cocktails and fun. They recently re-did the inside and added large, plus, booths. Love their 2 nice patios as well. Their cocktails are always fresh and tasty. My favorites are their Maple Leaf made with whisky and their El Diablo, which is a Tequila cocktail with a hint of spice. They offer a great happy hour. They also add cocktails for different seasons. At Christmas, it is a Miracle takeover, which is really neat. Recommend to check it out.on your next visit!
I typically enjoy this cocktail lounge. My problem that I have this time is they do not offer you the happy hour menu or the regular menu. They only give you their seasonal Christmas menu which has $17-$20 drinks. Even though they do accept orders from the happy hour menu and regular menu. What they tell you to do is look online and you have to do all the work yourself. I have a problem with that.
Poor attitude from bartender, overpriced drinks, vibe has changed. Enjoyed the gin sour I ordered from the other gentleman but the original lady was horrible. Waited 20 minutes to place my order after my party was the first in the door. Won’t be returning and I would recommend the same to anyone else. It is not the same
If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The lady bartender with the dark hair and tattoos was awful, sarcastic, and unwilling to help. I went in for some good Christmas vibes and was met with Mr. Scrooge “herself” rather than Buddy the Elf. Do not recommend. I’ve never been treated this way my first time at any establishment.
