Go! Go! Curry! Gardena Reviews
Tried this place in Hawaii and was thrilled to find out it opened in socal! Their curry is kanazawa style so it's darker & thicker (more gravy-like). It's a different flavor from the typical Japanese curry that's definitely worth trying. I recommend getting one of the larger plates to share. Super filling!
My favorite curry place in Japan is now down the street from me. First day was a little bit rough, but that’s to be expected with first days. That said, it tasted wonderful. I came back on 7/1 and service took ~10 minutes during lunch. Very good! Some people say it’s spicy. I don’t think it’s spicy at all. I LOVE the thick curry sauce. Too many curry restaurants have watery curry. Not here. The curry is PERFECT. I will be back again and again and again
I really like their curry. It’s thick, katsu is crispy and well flavored. Although I wish they would serve curry separately because they just pour it on rice but it’s just my preference. I almost didn’t wait, my order was ready in 1-2 minutes. Curry itself has sweet flavor and I would say it’s mildly spicy
It was cool. Curry was a little sweeter than I am used to, but it was definitely Japanese curry! Hard to find nowadays. It is a food court so it does get crowded.
Gotta try this place out if u a big Japanese curry fan!

Really large portions. The curry had a rich, meaty taste and was thicker than I expected. The rice was soft and really helped to balance everything.
This is my favorite restaurant in the world. Their katsu is also thicker and better than the locations at Hawaii and NYC. My one request is for them to slit and deep fry their sausages like the other locations. Thank you for coming to LA!!!!
The dark curry was SO good with the chicken katsu. And the friendly guy behind the counter even let us try the curry first to see if we liked it before ordering. Definitely coming back.

It's a small restaurant inside the large grocery store on the right side past the entrance. Got the standard combo which was 20$, and the portion looks a bit smaller compared to the photo. Food was good and curry was tasty, but out didn't taste unique in anyways besides having a darker color. The katsu, shrimp and egg was all great, though I'm not a fan of the sausage. All a bit overpriced but its still tasty, so if probably just prefer to try it in Japan. I did enjoy the small outdoor food court here.

Had the pork curry. Curry was a tad bit too salty for my taste, but the pork was perfectly crispy. Counter staff was friendly and inviting. Really nice. Atmosphere is 5/5 because i expected plastic cutlery, and got a nice fork with a wooden handle. That's class.
I finally came to see what the fuss is all about and i was not disappointed. The curry is really good. I really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back. They offer smaller portions as well as extra large portions for sharing. There are plenty of toppings to choose from but im guessing the cheese option is the most popular.

Tried both the pork and chicken katsu curry and both were solid, crispy cutlets, rich, thick Japanese-style curry, and very filling. Comfort food, no overthinking required. Portions are generous and it hits the spot when you need something warm and satisfying after shopping. Not fancy, but dependable and tasty.
Katsu and curry were good. Not enough curry with the regular rice amount. Just go to Kagura next door. Better portions, and you get miso soup, salad, and pickled veggies with your curry meal for pretty much the same price as here.
The gravy was a little thick, the flavor was not too exciting, the shrimp and the curry katsu curry tended to be on the dry side. What didn't recommend it with a heavy thick gravy wish they would lighten up on the thickness of the gravy so that it would flow and not be so much like a paste. Wish them well but I would not order it again. Service was very quick, much appreciated that. They use Hi-Tech do notify the customer when the food is ready to be picked up. That's a nice touch. We're not so cold I think we would have preferred eating outside in the patio area. The air was much more refreshing out in the patio area.
If you come expecting it to be like it is in Japan, prepare to be disappointed. Overly oily curry with not as much depth in flavor as it is back in Japan.

I was heavily disappointed in this place… I used to eat at this place in New York. I ordered a gray with extra sauce. They barely gave me any extra sauce. I thought they were gonna give it to me separately, but they just poured it on on my curry plate. Too expensive and wait until you go to the NYC or the one in Japan :(

We ordered chicken katsu curry and some other kinds. Chicken katsu and sauce was OK but the rice was undercooked and hard in the middle we couldn’t eat it. You need to practice cooking rice much better than this. For Japanese people how well the rice is cooked is very important. If you continue serving rice like that, people won’t come back to your place. Wash and soak the rice before you cook and use proper amount of water and steam long enough. Check your rice to make sure it’s well done before you serve. I hope you’ll improve your cooking method.

I ordered the pork katsu and did a $3.00 upgrade for an extra large portion. It was the same size as a regular. I questioned the girl to clarify my order and all she told me was L and XL are served on the same plate. I hadn't noticed that my order was sitting on the counter while i was standing there waiting. The waitress never called out my order until I went up to ask, even though she was standing by idly. I got the extra large to share with my family. The pork was dry, and the curry tasted instant. Never again. (Pictured is a regular size, from the people sitting next to us and the XL size we ordered.)

Been to one of these down in NYC a few times and while its not the greatest curry its usually a clutch spot that hits the appetite. This spot however completely turned me off. I got a homerun and the rice was undercooked; it was worse than an undercooked risotto. The katsu was decent at least as well as the sides, but overall I'd never come back.
We tried go go curry today for the first time and probably for us our last time! This curry is very heavy and has a sweet /spicy flavor but ultimately if you like spicy and can handle it probably worth it ! However if you cannot handle spice then better not order from this curry restaurant ! We have tried other Japanese curry restaurants but rarely have we found one that had an adverse effect like this one! Had diarrhea afterward ! We order the regular chicken katsu curry ! Again this restaurant might be worthwhile for those you can tolerate spice! Sorry but we will pass on this restaurant 😓

The curry was average. The cost is far too expensive for such average curry.
