Lua Kitchen Garland Reviews
The Vietnamese dishes taste fresh and well-balanced, with fragrant herbs, savory broths, and perfectly seasoned proteins. Portions are generous and satisfying, making it easy to share or enjoy as a full meal on your own. Everything we tried tasted homemade and comforting, just like a home-cooked Vietnamese meal. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The staff were happy to answer questions and offer recommendations, especially for first-time visitors. Food came out in a timely manner, and the experience felt smooth from start to finish.
Bun bo hue was amazing. Like seriously so good. Perfect amount of lemongrass, spice, and flavor. I kept stealing bites of my husbands broth. I got the bo ne (sizzling plate) and it was delicious as well. Presentation was good. Service was great. You also get a small complimentary che dessert at the end of your meal. We would return it ever in the area. They seem to have an extensive menu which was nice.
Came here for the second time and the foods never disappointed us! Servers are very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. They explained very thoroughly since they have a big menu. Aunties and daughter approved the restaurant and will definitely recommended to everyone who’s coming to town and wants to try authentic Vietnamese restaurant. The restaurant is very spacious and clean.
This is the place to go for the best tofu with shrimp paste in town—it's a must-try for any local food lover. The dry egg noodles are packed with flavor, and the Vietnamese-style broken rice is simply one of the best around. With generous portions, friendly service, and a clean atmosphere, it's a great spot to bring friends and family to enjoy a fantastic Vietnamese meal.
Super tasty food and friendly services. Vietnamese food does not only offer pho, they have so many options here. The restaurant is very clean.
Don't make the same mistake I did and assume the menu pictures from their soft opening is the correct menu. I ended up asking for the Lua Deluxe, which on the old menu was for the pho. It's now the name for the dry noodles. The staff there were so nice and they fixed my mistake and just replaced my dry noodles with the pho I was craving. They really did not have to do that but they did and I really appreciated it. The broth is so damn good too. I can't wait to try more stuff from the menu!
I don’t usually leave restaurant reviews, but this place deserves one! From the food to the customer service, everything was outstanding. The little details really impressed me, they even provide mouthwash in the bathroom after eating Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm, and there’s a baby changing station for families. On top of that, they surprised us with a free dessert 🥹. If you’re ever in Dallas, do yourself a favor and come experience it for yourself!
It was our first time dining here and the food was great! The menu had a wide range of dishes and drinks, the service was excellent, and everything came out fast even on a busy weekend. The space was clean and bright as well. Our server, Yen, was very attentive. If you’re looking for a modern but still authentic Viet restaurant, this is it. Highly recommend!
I went to Lua Kitchen today October 03, 2025. The atmostphere is great. The place is clean. The food is unbelievable good! I ordered fried quail with rice. The fried quail is crisp and very tasty. The vegetable is fresh. The fish sauce is delicious, and still retains the fish sauce taste. After the main dish, I kept looking at the screen for other dishes. Everything looked so good and I ordered the egg roll. It was absolutely delicious. Inside the egg roll was very tastety with pork, sea food etc. The skin was not greasy! The server (co Thuy) was quick, efficient and polite. I also noticed all other servers were also very pleasant. They took time to explain to customers the dishes in the restaurant. I thought it was great services! Over all, I enjoyed the food at Lua Kitchen very much. Definitely I will come back, telling my friends and relatives
I rarely leave reviews but I felt like this restaurant deserves the highest mention and 5 stars! I am Vietnamese and I absolutely love their food. Their recipe completely impressed me and took me by surprise! Please protect the chefs here at all cost! Garland is SO lucky to finally have a good Vietnamese restaurant! I would rate them a 50 out of 10. On top of everything, their customer service is extraordinary. They had 5-6 different workers come to my table to check on me. On my second visit, they remembered my name. They pay attention to details. They care about their food quality and they care about their customers. I will be coming back again!
UPDATE: 10/18/2025 I complained about the service in my previous review, but today, I noticed that the waitress/waiter have been very attentive. I now change my review to 5☆. It was our first time here, and I really enjoyed the food. I ordered the Fish Sauce Chicken Wings. The wings were perfectly cooker, juicy, and moist. The flavor lacked a bit. For my entrée, I ordered the Vietnamese Spicy Beef (Bún bò Huế), and it was good. I tried the broth by itself, and it had a nice kick to it. I did ask for an extra side of shrimp paste & chili oil. I LOVED that they served a side with soy sauce & chili for the pork hock. It made me decide to rate this place a 5☆, but unfortunately, due to the slow service for our refills (had to flag someone a few times), it lowered my rating to a 4☆. My wife ordered the Special Sizzling Beef Steak w/ Baguettes (Bò Né Ðặc Biệt). She said it was everything she wanted and more. She thought there were two meatballs, but one is a homemade meatball paté (absolutely delicious) while the other is a pork meatball. The beef steak was tender and flavorful. The salad that came with it was great since it'll cut through the richness of the sizzling foods. It comes with a baguette, so my wife made a Banh Mi with the food. It turned out to be delightful. Overall experience is a 4☆.
Food was good Banh xeo was crispy Ca kho was good and flavorful but not spicy Pandan milk was good Lemongrass beef was flavorful Got free dessert Menu has a lot of options
Lua Kitchen just opened in Garland and it’s already a new favorite! The food tastes so fresh and authentic—full of flavor just like home cooking. The prices are really reasonable for the quality and portion size, which is a big plus. The restaurant is spacious with a clean, comfortable vibe, perfect for both casual meals and family dinners. The staff was kind and welcoming too. If you're looking for delicious Vietnamese food in Garland, this is the spot to try!
The staff were super friendly, attentive, and had great suggestions. I ordered the Pandan Milk to drink and the Chả Cá Thì Là, which is a “Grilled Dill Tumeric Fish served with steamed thin Vermicelli noodles” - both of which tasted incredible! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to try well prepared Vietnamese cuisine!
Highly recommend this place! We went here for dinner during their soft opening and we were very impressed by the food and customer service! The restaurant itself was clean and spacious. Everyone was super friendly and sweet. The owner came by many times to check on us. We ordered many dishes to try and loved them all! Our favorite was the shaking beef! So tender and flavorful! Definitely will be back to try other dishes!
One of the best Bun Dau in town. Compared to when the 1st open, the dish improved a lot. It is really delicious and the server was nice too. I asked for extra sauce and switched out a few toppings. They were happy to give it to me. Everyone was nice and friendly. It also not too pact and I didn’t have to wait along time for my food to come out like other places.

I'm on multiple visits to this place and each time the food has been outstanding!!! Each time I visit i try something different. Each dish has been noteworthy! Keep up the good work. The restroom was especially clean and they provided mouthwash for after the meal!!

Came here on Saturday, the Bun Dau Mam Tom was delicious, big portions and worth the price. The menu has lots of options, I’ll definitely come back to try more. The kumquat green tea is a bomb, super flavorful ^^

The place is nice and clean, our servers was really attentive and polite. Food was very authentic and fresh, with great portion for the price. We’d love to come back.
My first time at Lua kitchen after hearing many good reviews from friends and family. We have ordered several dishes to try it out and they were all good. Our server is very attentive and friendly. Would definitely coming back!
Sharing my experience at a Vietnamese restaurant in Garland: Lua Kitchen Food was awesome with the right proportion. We ordered steamed rice cakes, grilled pork spring rolls, broken rice, tapioca noodles, and Nam Vang noodles. The highlights of the meal were the steamed rice cakes and the broken rice plate. Flavor wise, everything was cooked to our taste buds and similar to the hometown. The Nam Vang noddles could have been a bit better with more authentic flavor. I would definitely come back here again to try other dishes on the menu.
Big thanks to our server for patiently walking us through the menu. It was our first time venturing into Vietnamese food beyond pho and banh mi! We ended up liking the wet version of banh beo more than the dry, and the crispy Vietnamese pancake (banh xeo) and bun bo hue noodles were both hits. The cumin dill fish was just okay, and the snail stuffed with pork was a miss for us since we couldn’t really taste the snail.

Food is bland, I order Cơm Tay Cầm Hến, too much oil and rice is super dry and overcooked. Portion is small compared to the prices. Lots of dishes on menu are unavailable yet. Staff gave free yogurt but the yogurt is bad too, look at the texture in the pic. The stars are for friendly staff.

Do not order from here. They charged $14 for 3 pieces of uncooked fish in brown sauce that they're pretending is Ca Kho. And charged $15 for frozen mushy clams. Shame on you.
