Oishi Sushi Glendale Reviews
If you’re in Glendale, Oishi Sushi is a must-visit hidden gem🍣🔥 From the crispy Starfish Tempura and comforting Agedashi Tofu, to the addicting Spicy Tuna Biscuit, every bite hits. We tried the Seared Spicy Albacore with Crispy Onion, Hot Night Roll, Dynamite Hand Roll, and Seared Cajun Tuna with mustard sauce — flavor-packed from start to finish. And that Ceviche on Brand? Light, zesty, and the perfect finale✨ Pair it all with a premium Japanese craft beer or sake — it’s the move🍶✨
This used to be one of my favorite sushi places. Now, it's changed names and owners. Tonights ⁰was excellent, large cuts. Not so much rice, which is excellent. Go on a sunday night. It not crowded.
Oishi Sushi is my go to spot when I’m in the mood for sushi. The fish is so fresh and is the best quality you will find at this price point! I love that they have low carb no rice options (the Pink Lady is my favorite). The staff are also so friendly and warm! I absolutely love my experience every time I eat at Oishi!
This was the best food let alone sushi I ever had in my life. I work in Glendale at Mercedes and I always wanted to come here as I pass by it everyday. Today I had time and decided to give it a try. I was greeted with such friendly waitresses and the kind head Chef said hello to us before he began to prep the meal. I ordered the udon, popcorn lobster roll as well as the amazing fried tuna onion roll. It was the best I ever had as the quality of fish is top notch and it will literally melt in your mouth. Perfect date spot or for casual lunch guests like me. I did will rate this as the best sushi restaurant in the world! (Ive been to Japan and korea) I will recommend Oishi Sushi to everyone and I will keep coming here regularly!!!! Sushi and service is bar none the best!!!
the sushi and rolls here are insane!! The owner is super nice and friendly, and they’ll hook you up with whatever you need. I had a bunch of questions about the menu, and they explained everything so well. The rolls are fire, and the sashimi is crazy fresh! The salmon and tuna are thick, flavorful, and literally melt in your mouth. Hands down, the best sushi spot in Glendale! If you live here or are just visiting, you gotta check out Oishi. The name says it all—straight-up Oishi!🩷
The fish, the ambience, the staff, the noise level, everything is just perfect place for a get-together. The quality of sushi is amazing, we had 8 person and shared most of food. if you comes along with 1-2 person, try Oishi tower roll and yellow tail/salmon carpaccio. I never found this tastes any other than in this place
I was introduced recently by a friend and I absolutely love this place. The owners are friendly and have the most amazing customer service. The sushi is fresh and just delicious. I highly recommend Oishi Sushi.
Super fresh and refreshing sushi!!! Hidden gem in Glendale. Their rolls are definitely thing! I ordered Seared Spicy Albacore w/ crispy onion, Yellowtail Jalapeño, Rising hamachi roll, sesame chicken, tempura, salmon sashimi and ninja dragon roll
Amazing atmosphere with wooden fascinating enclosures. Beautiful lanterns. The food and service were great! I would recommend this restaurant for a 1st date.
This sushi stop has a bit more of an open space feel than the other one about a block away. The food is great👍 here as well. Cool vibe inside, and I saw seating areas outside. If you feel like sushi with ambient space this is the place.
Oishi Sushi has to be one of the best in Glendale. The takeout quality of the sushi is very good and I have to say I highly recommend if you are looking for a good sushi place to eat at home. The specialty rolls are great and very unique. Salmon and tuna quality is very fresh. Shishito Pepper - 4/5 Spicy Rainbow #2 - 5/5 California Roll - 3/5 Chicken Teriyaki - 4/5 Rising Hamachi Roll -5/5 Blackjack Roll -5/5 Lemon roll -2/5 (Waay too much lemon) Edamame - 3/5
We ordered almost everything on their menu, and it was absolutely delicious. Fish was so fresh, rice to fish ratio was perfect, and the sauce wasn’t overpowering. My favorite was the jumbo scallop, which they source from Japan, and their halibut is also to die for. I’ve both dined in here and ordered catering, and every time they exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!
Best Nigiri I've had at this price point. A lot of locations will charge more for worse fish. I went with the chefs choice Nigiri Special and wowee was this a flavorful & fresh spread of sushi. I will be returning.
Stopped here for dinner last night. Definitely didn’t think that the portions would be as filling as they were. The 911 roll has a slow tick spicy kick, it’s addictive. The dragon roll was so good, I had to convince myself to save some for leftovers. The red dragon roll was amazing as well. My girlfriend got the kaki udon soup, and oh boy was that a HUGE bowl. Broth was great, noodles slapped. I’ll be back. Highly recommend this to any sushi fans. Try something new, I did and I wasn’t disappointed. :)
Amazing food, generous people, exotic fishes it’s a hidden gem. Always fresh.

Honest Review: OK, so the sushi is actually good. Not excellent but solid. The teriyaki chicken and the tempura are really mediocre tho. I'd say under no circumstance order this. Its expensive and is clearly a frozen chicken patty and frozen tempura. Teriyaki sauce is snot garbage.

Came here for dinner after a concert nearby. The service was slow and the servers were not friendly. Ordered seafood soup and it was supposed to be “fresh sashimi” but no sashimi at all but with one chunk of boiled fish, two pieces of shrimp and couple of pieces of squid. The soup tasted like hot water with soy sauce. With a price of $23.50, it should have been better than this! Will not come again!
For over 20 a roll i expected more. Fish tasted a bit too "fishy" indicating to me it was older than it should have been. Spider rolls not properly fried. Tasted like it was fried hours ago and reheated. To me this screams all style no substance. The food came out bland, uninspired and way too quick to be prepared the moment we ordered. Even the condiments - ginger and wasabi tasted old. Superman burrito wrapping paper tasted and had the consistency of sandpaper. Terrible music to add insult to injury. My tongue still has a gross fishy aftertaste. I like the paper lamps though.

The food was fair and my pickup order was ready on time, but the overall experience was uncomfortable. I had asked for cream cheese to be substituted with cucumber and was surprised to be charged extra for the cucumber. I was also told there would be an extra charge for extra sauce, which I could understand, but what happened next was really awkward. Apparently, the sauces I requested were accidentally packed with someone else’s order. Instead of just giving me new ones, the manager opened the other customer’s bag in front of me, took the sauces out and put them in my order. I felt like she could have just let that order go with a couple extra sauces and given me fresh ones. It was an unnecessarily tense moment that could’ve been handled more gracefully. It came across as overly strict. They seem to stick rigidly to the menu and aren’t very generous with small extras, which doesn’t leave the best impression.
We decided to try this restaurant for the first time since our usual spot is closed on Mondays, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We started with the rock shrimp appetizer, which arrived with a long black hair in it. The server apologized, but no further action was taken. Next, our cut rolls arrived incorrectly — despite my clear request for soy paper, only one roll was prepared with soy paper while the other came wrapped in seaweed. The seaweed itself was stale and chewy. To make matters worse, as I was eating my lemon roll, I found a small piece of dust or hair attached to the food. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told the appetizer had been removed from the bill, but the incorrectly prepared roll was not corrected or replaced. The sushi itself also fell apart easily and did not hold together. Overall, this was an unpleasant and unsanitary experience. It’s disappointing that a restaurant would serve food in this condition, and unfortunately, it has left me so unsettled that I won’t be eating sushi again for a while.
