Our favorite Hudson Vally restaurant. Perfect for lunch or dinner, the food is fresh and local, the mushroom pate is insanely good. And mushroom tacos a favorite. But the chef who owns the restaurant is as creative and he is talented. Try it. You will feel welcomed.

This is my favorite restaurant in Poughkeepsie. The food is not only incredibly fresh and not only totally local, but absolutely delicious. Try their 50% mushroom 50% beef, burger, meatballs, anything, so so so savory and delicious! Also, I don’t know where they get their servers, but they’re all so friendly and kind. Really this is a great restaurant!

We were going to be in town for hockey and extremely short on time with having to go to multiple places and then travel home--- i called the day before and ordered everything my family needed and asked for it to be ready for a 12:30 the next day. We showed up at 12:32 and the food was just being put in the table!!! 9 out of 10 other places wouldve never got that correct or even done it. The food was fresh and delicious. Thank you again to their staff for the awesome food and making out trip turn out great!!

The waitress was so nice. The food was fresh and great. They have outdoor seating too. The pasta was great and they made their pasta.

This is a hidden gem. The food is fresh, delicious, and served beautifully. The staff is accommodating, and made us feel welcomed. Our server was one of the best servers we’ve ever had. He was attentive and friendly. He just got everything right. One little detail that made a big impact with all the guest at our table: the glasses are shined to perfection. Every glass was like brand new. It’s that attention to detail that makes this gathering place stand out. Thank you for your hospitality.

We found this place on our way home from shopping and we were very pleased. Food was delicious and super fresh. Great atmosphere, outdoor dining was very nice. We didn't eat inside this time but it looks great; some unique tables. We will definitely be back.

We had a really great dinner right in our neighborhood. The food is always so fresh and great. The chicken melts in your mouth with incredible mashed potatoes and gravy. I had the duck special, and it was cooked so perfectly. We enjoyed the mushroom appetizer and our dessert drinks 🍸 The service was perfect, very friendly, and knowledgeable of all the food specials

The food was super yummy. I had the scallops with risotto. But because I was out with my family I was able to taste the roasted chicken, the oysters, and the bowl. We also had the creme brûlée and the chocolate lava cake. Everything was fresh, seasoned well, and the service was on point as well. I will definitely be returning

My family and I absolutely loved Farmers and Chefs. Our waitress, Jessica, was absolutely the best ever. Every dish was perfectly cooked, had amazing flavor, and had great presentation. The brown ale was very tasty, as well as the rosé. The portion sizes were perfect for the price, especially with the scallops and risotto; five huge diver scallops - perfectly cooked and seasoned - on a voluptuous bed of tarragon risotto. Our appetizer, the crab cakes, was immenseful flavorful and the wasabi sauce complimented the dish beautifully. This is definitely a pricier restaurant overall but you absolutely get what you pay for.

Went for a birthday meal during pandemic times. We were quickly shown to a table outside and were introduced to the ordering system which is all via QR code scanners on our smartphones though if you have a phone that doesn't have a scanner built in to the camera interface it gets annoying. Server was very polite and engaging. Food was all right, it was good but not particularly memorable. Views of the sunset were great

Have been to Farmers and Chefs a few times. One time there was a nice, live band. The views off the deck are always beautiful. The food is good. I was most impressed by the burgundy escargot appetizer. Last time I went I chose the hot honey chicken sandwich. It was decent. I look forward to keeping Farmers and Chefs on my list of restaurants to patronize in the Poughkeepsie area.

This place is what I consider extremely expensive for nothing special. I had an $18 hamburger that I kind of expected would be a 'gourmet hamburger' if one can use that phrase in the same sentence as 'hamburger'. It was not gourmet. Nothing was wrong with it, but nothing was even remotely special about it. Their menu consists of other 'fancy' dishes with high prices to match. Their other food may be better, but regarding the hamburger, I've had much, much, better for a similar if not cheaper price. I also have to add that you should definitely not sit outside. There isn't much of a view and route 9 is about 100 feet away. No matter how nice the day, sit inside and avoid the constant road noise of the cars racing by. Sorry, can't recommend this place.

Another great place before Covid. First time back since Covidfor dinner at Farmers & Chefs. I had the Salmon dinner. I am a big fish eater and the Salmon was either frozen previously or getting old. The Brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection. My wife had the duck breast, no flavor what - so - ever. The Lava cake was very good and nice selection of beer on tap. I would definitely visit for dessert and a beer but that's it. What a shame.
