El Gallo De Oro Granbury Reviews
I love the breakfast burritos! The service is always fast and friendly.
This place was highly recommended. We really enjoyed our experience.
Authentic Mexican comfort food. Wanted to show my boyfriend what pozole tastes like(his first time trying it) & the pozole here was right on point! Great flavors. Good portion sizes and prizes are not too bad. The restaurant could look a little more decent, maybe a renovation or something but the food was great!
Best Mexican food in all of granbury arguably. Authentic. I moved from California and it’s been terribly difficult to find anything that meets my standards. I do not care for Tex-mex and this place has great, authentic Mexican food. Their tacos are great. Their quesabirria tacos are delish as well. And I love their mole sauce. 😍 I can’t wait to explore their menu more.
If you’re looking for Authentic Mexican food, this place is it!!!!!! They do offer Tex-mex, i personally do not like Tex-mex so I stuck with the Authentic food. I had the barbacoa street tacos. I haven’t found authentic barbacoa in a long time and it was sooooo good. I don’t even eat beef but I will eat awesome barbacoa. Excellent service and excellent price even on a budget. Husband was just as satisfied with his enchilada combo. Rice and beans are amazing as well. We WILL be back!!!
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely rice-based drink (agua de horchata). ⭐️ We both ordered chilaquiles verde de pollo con huevos fritos; if you want it to be spicy, simply add the table-top green (salsa verde) or red (salsa roja) salsa. Delicious and so fresh! 🥵 My husband also ordered two tacos, while I ordered a side of birria quesadillas. The broth was perfect and full of flavour🥹We ate so much but LOVED every bite.
This place is amazing the employees are helpful and the food is great. I had chilaquiles with the pastor and it was really tasty for breakfast. I also tried the ceviche and it was really good too if you like fish. The mechiladas were a little salty but nothing another beer couldn't fix. This place is an amazing place to get Mexican food It's a great location right across the street to the water.
Food was good although it did seem to take a long time considering we were the only 2 people in the restaurant for a while. Ordered the Wednesday special thinking it would be a safe call for time, but we ki d of rushed through to get to work on time.
Great food at a decent price but the online menu needs to change or gotten rid of completely. It's not a complete menu and it does not list many of their items
This was my second time in. The food had been good both times I've come in to eat. Tonight, the service was just not good. The waitress was too busy with her phone and laughing about with her Co- worker. I had to call her over in order to find out I needed to pay at the register. Both my wife and I had empty dishes in front of us. On top of all of this a lady mopping all the not seated areas in the restaurant. Last thing I would think you want at a restaurant is chemical smells while your customers are trying to eat. If your not busy enough to stay open past 8:30 then I would try to make service better when people come into your restaurant. This will generate return service.
We use to go here a lot when I was younger and service was amazing. The food is still very good. Its juat the service has gone down. The young people in the front do not greet you when you walk in and then they don't say you may have a seat anywhere. They they don't let you know ow that they no longer serve chips and hot sauce. That kind of made us want to leave but we have already ordered so we staid. The young girl never bothered to refill our drinks as well. Over all the food is great! The location is great! Its just the young people in the front don't know how to speak to customers a d it turns the dine in into a cold din in atmosphere.
I decided not to judge a book by its cover and try this place out even though the outside sign and appearance is unappealing. We came in on a Saturday one hour before closing because we were at the beach across the street. Our server was kind but besides taking our order, did not check much on us, we had to keep waving or calling to get refills or any other thing. Staff seemed to be more focused on putting things away and cleaning since they were approaching closing time. Our kids got quesadillas and gorditas and they liked those. My wife and I had the parrillada and it was disappointing. Meat and chicken were overcooked and hard to chew. You only get two small links of sausage that are cut in 4 to appear as if was more food. Charro beans were some of the worst we have had. Tiny portion of rice was very good, left me wanting more. Home made flour tortillas smelled amazing but far from being fresh. Maybe they were awesome early when they opened but an hour before closing you could not fold the flour tortilla without breaking it. Towards the center of the tortilla where it wasn’t so toasted you could tell they tasted good. It would have been amazing having these when they were fresh. Tres leches cake was old and felt dry. Flan was very good. Based on this experience I would not come back.
How can this place have any good reviews. Place is dirty...food is horrible and service sucks. Never have I been to a Mexican food restaurant that doesn't give chips and salsa...I ordered some anyway with some queso and it was velvita lol
Ordered breakfast burrito, with bacon, eggs, cheese, tiny bit of beans & sausage. I got a egg burrito with beans & bacon bits. That's it. I hear lunch burritos are good
To start off. The first thing my girlfriend and I ordered was chips and salsa. The salsa was very watery and my gf found a hair in her salsa. Next was the mixed drinks. Not well made by any means. 3-10. Next i ordered the brisket tacos. Which were very dry and tasteless. Don't not go here. Over priced. Not worth it at all.
This is the third chance I’ve given this place on takeout and man I get the same dish every single time which is the chicken enchiladas. I have attached a photo down here to describe what I’m talking about. The chicken inside the enchiladas is more like beef jerky. Every time I get it. My food is cold and this go around. I opened it in the car immediately. The chips are from yesterday and stale, the amount of rice and beans, portion, wise, terrible. I tried to give it three different chances, but each time somethings missing from the bag and each time I cannot even chew the chicken. I would say you’re better off going to fuzzy’s unless you have or know of a better local Mexican food restaurant!
