Old Cafeteria Guadalajara Reviews
Cafe Centro Histórico Tapatío is an oasis of tranquility just steps away from the bustle of Mercado Corona. The atmosphere is great, the food is very good and very reasonably priced, and the service is excellent! (The second time we visited they remembered that my wife took regular Americano while I wanted decaf.) Since discovering this wonderful little gem, my wife and I have been going there regularly for breakfast or just for coffee.
Nice and comfy place to come have a coffee or drink and listen to actually great bohemian music.
Great coffee, try the orange bread, the best!
Friendly local experience. Good coffee. They also sell freshly ground coffee.
A very lovely place to take breakfast before venturing into Guadalajara's downtown, the coffee is really smooth and their menu is full of options to eat at anytime, really one of the best experiences around town
I loved it!
Excellent place
It's a very comfortable space for chatting, reading, doing homework, or conducting business. If you appreciate old-fashioned spaces, you'll like this café. It's one of the few places where you can find capomo (a type of Mexican fruit) in addition to coffee. It's a family business and has that vibe; they're friendly. It's okay, nothing spectacular. I do recommend it :)
Although this place is small, it's very good. It has a traditional, old-fashioned design. The staff is friendly and quick. The menu is varied. The coffee is very good. The price-quality ratio is quite good. It's difficult to get to the area by car, especially on that street, but you can find parking nearby.
This place has been around for quite some time and is one of the most popular and well-known cafes in the city center. The coffee is excellent, and the food is good too. The prices are fair, and the portions are reasonable. It's a great spot to spend an afternoon chatting with your partner or friends. I recommend the desserts. The service is very good, but it can get quite busy, so your food might take a while to arrive.
Rico
The place is small but very quiet, which is what I liked most. It wasn't crowded; there was only one other couple there, so we could have a pleasant conversation. The food is okay. I only had one complaint because I ordered some burritos and noticed the lettuce wasn't washed properly, as you could see the dirt on it. But the prices seem good; they're inexpensive.
This place ia well located and we spotted it walking around the centre of the city. Thw drinks were nice and the cafe had comfy seating. There ia building work going on which spoils the ambience. Sadly we were over charged the bill by almost double. We did not realise at the time , both my partner and I assumed the other had ordered something expensive. It was walking down the street 2 minutes later and it is hard to challenge at this point. Shame as we budget daily and it meant we were out of pocket.
A daily coffee drinker myself, I know what taste good and not good. I asked for a Carmel macchiato which was not in the menu, but the lady said that she could make it without a problem. The drink had no Carmel or any flavor. It was just coffee, water and ice, it tasted horrible. We also ordered a walnut flavor frappe with a double shot of espresso. The frappe tasted had not flavor and had a powdery texture. It was watery and not icey and lacked the double shot. This coffee shop was conveniently located but did not satisfy us. Ps. 2 of 3 employees were not wearing masks
Stay away from this place, specially If you are a tourist or You may end up in jail. I visited this place at least 8-10 times over a 2 weeks period, on my last visit the 3rd one of that same day, I ran across the owner "Gabriel". After a kind hello from my end, he kindly accused me of paying for my coffee with counterfeit Pesos. Not to be enough, after I offered him a reimbursement and to give him another $500 pesos he had the nerve to say "what if that one, is also a fake one ". Gabriel - FYI any international tourist who visits your beautiful Guadalajara, its because they have the financial capacity to do so. If you need to vent your frustration about "pinches" 500 pesos check with your local authorities.
This coffee shop is only good when the owner is there ,otherwise the 2 ladies that work there ignore you and when u are able to order the food sucks. Coffee is good but as i said only when the owner is around avoid this place.
