You have to try the local food...just awesome
A place to visit as a historic checkpoint in gdl and a better one olace to eat tortas
Very best Torta ahogada I have ever tried.
Super good. One of the best of the city.
Excellent, everything that you hear about it is true
First time they are very good
The best place for tortas ahogadas
Very delicious indeed!
Very good
they are tasty. extra points for being original in the sause department (no other tortas ahogadas uses this kind of raw tomato sause)
Chingonas. Well made tortas, the menu is simple and then place small but that's irrelevant since the tortas ahogadas are fabulous.
Great tortas! Best I've tried. But staff is not that friendly, with clients and each other.
This place loves up to its popularity with neighborhood locals. They were patient with our poor Spanish and very welcoming.
It's the first time I had a Torta Ahogadas, but it was delicious.
Excellent service, this torta definitely owned a place on my top 3 podium
The best place to eat tortas ahogadas in Guadalajara, taste the kidney =)
After reading about this place all over the internet, I was finally able to give it a try today. This is considered one of THE spots to come and have a torta ahogada because of its history. The recipe for these specific tortas has been around for a really long time and they are beloved by many people here in the city. I came around 3 pm and was expecting there to be a line but it was fortunately not that packed. I was able to order and was served promptly. The two men serving the food will ask you if you want your torta in a bag which is the way they are traditionally had, or in a bowl. They also ask you how much sauce you want and how much spicy salsa you want too. They give you a fairly generous portion though, I can’t imagine anyone would want more than two scoops of sauce to douse their torta in. The torta, combined with all the sauce, meat and salsa, is extremely tasty. This is a meal that is teeming with so much flavor and texture. The bread is a bit hard but when mixed in with the sauce, it makes it easier to chew as it gets softer. The meat also keeps its consistency but becomes really juicy when you dunk it in the sauce. Even though it was a little messy, I was still really happy with my food and the service.
Last time here in GDL I tried a torta ahogada elsewhere and really wasn't impressed. My local friend brought me here and what a treat! Only my second true torta ahogada so don't have much to compare it to but man was it tasty. The pork was nice and tender and the sauce was perfect. It was also a fun experience to eat it in the bag. Excited to try more torta ahogadas to see how this stacks up. Go and try it.
They are delicious, you must try them
The place has amazing tortas ahogadas. The tacos are not great, but if you are going to a place called tortas ahogadas and ordering tacos them that's really your own fault. The place is really just a street vendor bike in a room and while it looks a bit sketchy the food is definitely worth it. I would recomending ordering it in a bag rather than a plate since it's much easier to eat that way.
Best Tortas Ahogadas in town, very fresh very delicious!

Best Tortas Ahogadas in town, very fresh very delicious!
I order it to go and as any torta ahogada on the go, it will be bagged. Their bags are sturdy enough to take the chewing of the eating of the torta. the sauce and chile are very good, kind of citric. I was happy with my torta.
Best tortas ahogadas in all of Guadalajara....at least out of what we’ve tried so far as there is 100’s in the city. Most amazing hangover fixer upper!!
Hands down the best tortas ahogadas in the city. This place is a little hole in the wall and has very little seating capacity.....that however, doesn't take away from the fact that these tortas ahogadas (drowned tortas) are of the very best in town!
The cities famous tortas served from the back of a bicycle. Drenched in slightly spicy tomato salsa. There is a choice of Lengua (tongue), Cabeza (head), Carne (meat) or mixed for 70 Pesos each. The tongue was rich & delicious, highly recommend! This vendor is only a short 15 minute walk from the historic centre & is a perfect spot for breakfast before taking the bus to Tequila.
Very local and unique experience. Their tomato sauce is amazing!!
This place has his sauce that adds good taste. Sometimes, the service gets really slow due to take-out orders. But if you're patient, all be great.
Delicious! What makes it different is that the sauce to drown your torta in is like a delicious tomato gazpacho. Very delicate flavors compared to all the heavy other ahogadas sauces. Meat was also wrll seasoned and the bread was fresh and soft.
The best tortas ahogadas in Town. The difference between this and other places is "the salsa", completely different , honestly I love it. If you wanna come from other country and want a taste a tipicall dish from Guadalajara, I recommend this place.

Historically the first "tortas ahogadas" in the city.
So god!!
I don't know if they are supposed to be cold.... They were good.... Would i hype about it... Not really
The flavor of the tortas ahogadas is excellent but a bit pricier compared to other places.
Excellent place for Torta Ahogada with uncooked tomato sauce, you eat the Tortas on a plastic bag.
The most storied torta ahogada in Guadalajara. I actually really enjoyed the cold tomato sauce on this one, it reminded me of Spanish pan con tomate but with carnitas. The salsa is hot even by my standards. Served in a bag for good measure.
The best local Tortas Ahogadas in all Guadalajara City. The location is quite awful but offers a genuine local experience. 3/10 Cleanliness 8/10 Service 3/10 Location 9/10 Food This restaurant serves you food out of a bicycle food dispenser, and altho this is a nice novelty reminiscent of this restaurant success over tons of years, this now serves no real purpose other than slowing down costumer service.

This place is ok for the local, did not made an impression for me...
Not impressed. Did not live up to the hype. Sauce overpowers the meat and feels as if your eating bread and tomato sauce. Sauce is flavorful but perhaps meat needs to be more seasoned.

Super overrated. There’s way better places throughout the city, especially in Oblatos. Overpriced and simply wasn’t that good.
Food was hard and old as if from a day ago. Not fresh.
Horrible experience. Got sick after eating the tortas ahogadas de carnitas. I was sick, on the toilet, for most of my time there.
This place is overrated. I am from this city, and I have taste way better than this one here I don’t really understand why people say that those are the best in town, it’s a damn lie
Not a good experience. I could not get service after 10 minutes in the line they said they just got a big to deliver service and no food left for people in the line. Their priorities are just not right o this is the future for food service. Not the first time including other restaurants tho
