Black Coffee is a quaint local coffee shop that is a perfect place to start your day. Located near the Texas Wesleyan campus, you'll be warmly greeted by a knowledgeable staff. During my first visit it seemed as if I was trying to order everything on the menu because everything that they had to offer sounded great. I'm not a big soft drink person, but I couldn't resist the blueberry mint pop on the menu. It was perfectly balanced, not sweet, and refreshing. Black Coffee has also adjusted their operations to successfully navigate the coronavirus restrictions. I'll definitely be back.

I’ve been to nearly every coffee shop in Fort Worth and this is easily my favorite. The east side has desperately needed something like this. The coffee is great, customer service is super friendly, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. I love this place so much, highly recommend checking it out. Right across from Texas Wesleyan.

Great space in East Fort Worth. Excited to visit again to soak up the ambiance. The cold brew was excellent and service was too! First time to visit and look forward to go again when it's not 100° so I can try their espresso!

This place is awesome, the menu and decor feel like a posh uptown venue but without all the overpriced atmosphere and attitude. Speaking of price, this place is more like a small town diner or Cafe when talking prices. You get upscale environment and phenominal artesian pastries and exceptional gourmet coffee and tea items at cafe prices. I have tried several different pastries but I'm not an adventurous coffee drinker. I get the iced mocha latte and usually some random pastry that peaks my interest at that moment. So compared to either a VERY well known national chain store or some of the other lesser known chains, this place is well worth the trip to skip all those other places. The chains are fine if you like basic, but if you're after exceptional, Black Coffee is the place to go. Located just one block south of Texas Wesleyan and right on the corner, you can't miss it. Try them out and maybe I'll see you there!

Full disclosure, I don't drink coffee, so this review is not comprehensive. I like their tea and other non-coffee offerings. And I especially like the atmosphere - the baristas are always super friendly, the shop is quaint and not loud or chaotic, so it's a great place to relax or do some work. I recommend Black Coffee!

The Black Coffee roast is unique and full of life. I haven't gotten a chance to visit the cafe, but I have ordered their coffee for delivery and was delightfully surprised at the full bodied texture, aroma, and flavor that played with my taste buds. I put Black Coffee on the top of my favorite coffee varieties. One of these days, I'll even make it to the shop.

This is a great place to hang out have some of the best coffee anywhere and the nicest folks in this messed up world if ours. I have no idea what it is but from the employees to the patrons it's like you step into a different world. Everyone that comes is great and one can't leave Black Coffee without gaining a brighter outlook on the day. Keep it going Black Coffee.

Lovely place for either a quick stop in or drive thru or also to sit and work, meet, or read. Sociable environment but quiet enough to focus during the day. Had several seating options with chairs, chairs and tables, and couches.

This coffeeshop is such a warm cozy and tranquil ambience. Amazing seasonal drinks. The baristas are friendly and helpful shoutout to Chandler and Milo . A wonderful place to relax and enjoy coffee alone or with friends. *updated Been coming here for almost 5 years and every part of this still rings true a cowtown gem!!

I am officially obsessed with Black Coffee. Not only their mission to bring community and coffee in the eastside on Ft. Worth, but the overall experience at Black Coffee. I felt very welcomed into the space and the staff was very kind. When going up to order, I felt very guided throughout the process of being a newbie at black coffee. The espresso was very smooth and nutty, with the perfect amount of acidity. The calibration and the extraction was perfect and paired well through the beverage. I ordered another shot just because I prefer my espresso a little bit stronger than the standard amount. The creativity within this shop is very enlightening, and brings a unique characteristic about this coffee shop. I highly recommend black coffee, and definitely will become a regular.

I came here for the first time this morning. I understand the five star ratings now. The service was great and the relationships between the customers and baristas seem like family relationships. It's pretty cool. It's also a good place to chat or study. I've been to quite a few coffee shops across the country, especially in California, and the coffee at this place can compete well with the best of them. The iced vanilla latte here was phenomenal. Probably one of the best I've ever had. 👍🏼🙂

I don't think I've had a more perfect first sip! The Bee latte has just the perfect touch of honey that pairs so well with the delicious espresso. The barista was super friendly and made the drink quickly.

I have known about Black Coffee for awhile, but I only recently visited for the first time and I LOVED it! The chai tea latte with oat milk and honey was delicious! Chandler, my barista was adorable and super efficient and very friendly! The atmosphere is even nicer in person than the pictures! I splurged on a cookie and it did not disappoint! I will be back and I’m bringing friends!

Everything here is always so delicious! We love the snickers latte and the bakery items they offer to eat. Also, when we were there today, they offered to make our daughter a kid's snicker latte, which is just the regular version without the espresso, and she absolutely loved it and it made her feel so grown up. We will be coming back even more often now, because I know she'll be asking to go everyday. Great customer service, great coffee and food make for a winning combination!

Great ambiance, clean, but most importantly, FABULOUS COFFEE!!! We tried a summer special and it was delicious. My son said I've never had blueberry coffee - you can taste flavors and not just "sweet". Actually, the drink was just the right level of sweetness. Smooth and strong coffee for sure!

I come here often on my breaks. The staff is really friendly and will make suggestions when asked. I love that’s locally owned and I personally like their coffee better than Starbucks.

I visited today and had a wonderful experience. Mia, the owner, was friendly and her staff was as well. This spot is in a great location near Texas Weslayan, and the cold brewed coffee was the strongest I've ever had. I also had a "sausage bomb!" Will I return? Absolutely. Should you visit and support a black. owned business? Again, ABSOLUTELY! You will not regret it.

Just want to start off by saying this place & the girls who work here are amazing! Went in yesterday like I do every morning & my card was declined... they insisted that I take my drinks anyways & when I went in there this morning I tried paying for them & they did not let me. I used to drive all the way to Starbucks every day to get a coffee & I decided to try this place one day cause it is so close to me & I’ve been hooked ever since!! It’s such a great vibe in there and the girls are so sweet! Just love them!! I will never go to Starbucks again! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

One of the best places to get coffee. Everyone who works there is so nice and the shop is always clean. My favorite pastry to get is the almond croissant. They have fun cultural events too. The owner Mia is awesome and she has created a great spot to drink coffee and work/study

I recently moved to the area and have not had the chance to find any local coffee spots. Today my boyfriend and I ordered curbsidef here for the first time and the latte I got is one of the best I've ever had! I really appreciate them having the option for oat milk as I'm not able to drink regular milk. I'm really excited to go back!

K

Awesome and super delicious coffee shop. Their cold brew is amazing to me. It’s strong and 12oz was enough for me to keep me going the rest of the day. Super cool and chill vibe at the shop. Support local!

I just ordered an iced mocha with half and half (breve) and it is just right. Not too sweet, and not too bland. Love being a TWU student and having Black Coffee right by campus. Thank you, and will be back for that gingerbread syrup 🎄🎅

We finally made it to get some coffee... the line was long, but well worth the wait. We purchased two iced coffee: Iced Mocha w/Almond milk and Iced White Chocolate w/Almond milk and they were delicious! The only suggestion I have to make ordering easier... have pictures and names of some of your Best sellers and specialty drinks to make ordering more efficient.

My absolute favorite item was the bagel sandwich with the spicy jelly followed by the breakfast tacos. Their rewards system is very generous. Its more than a coffee shop. Its a hub for the community. I would get an iced matcha nearly every day before going to work. The baristas are beyond delightful. The owner is inspirational. You will NOT be disappointed here.

This was my first time visiting this location. I ordered the Iced Blackberry Matcha Latte and the Everything Bagel Breakfast Sandwich. Both were delicious. I’ll definitely be making this my go-to spot for breakfast. The curbside pick-up instructions were a bit confusing, but the person who brought me my order was very helpful and gave me directions for the next time. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend this place.

Been there twice now and each time was enjoyable. Friendly employees, laid back atmosphere(enjoyed the music), and delicious coffee of course. The chai tea sold me, it had just the right amount of sweetness. My mother instantly loved the caramel flavored latte I bought for her. I believe I may have another favorite coffee spot.

I’m back at it! Got my iced Butter Cup coffee and almond croissant. Whenever I’m in the area I stop for a cup of coffee. I’ve bought a t-shirt and a travel mug from here and I love them both.

Y'all I just had the most delicious iced coffee!! The barista put me on game for this "off menu" drink. I felt so 'exclusive' 😏 Usually I just stick with ol american drip coffee with almond creamer and honey. But babbbyyyyy this Snicker Iced Coffee is the bee knees. Sorry, not sorry for the empty cup photo. I couldn't stop drinking 😩 I'm going to order another one on my way out. 😅 *If this was in Dallas I would go everyday. No hype.

This hidden GEM is one to not sleep on! The cozy atmosphere is captivating! The staff is friendly and welcoming every time you come in. Excellent service has been consistent no matter what Barista is at the Bar! That’s service I can appreciate. Not only does the shop serve up a great product, you can find the owner Mia Moss steadfast boots on the ground in the community advocating for ways to revitalize the area in which she serves! We love that this place is here! A couple of my personal favs are the Snickers Latte, and the breakfast tacos! You can’t go wrong with these!

Loved the vibe here. The pour drip coffee was tasty even for me who doesn’t like plain black coffee. The latte was delicious and my sister tried the Lady Marmalade and she was happy with her choice. Even though I’m not into rose flavored anything I dug it too! Highly recommended! Try everything!!!

This an excellent way to begin your day! Small and not so loud of a place offering a standout product. I have been exploring coffee here in DFW area for a little over a year. And I’m not a connoisseur nor an expert in the topic. But I’m a consumer! The amount of coffee shops that open in and through this pandemic is ridiculous. And I love it! This shop in particular is a rare gem. In my personal opinion, underrated! Coffee here is VERY good(excellent). Is full of flavor and not boring. Yes is not in a hype or popular neighborhood. But guess what!… it’s still serves an excellent coffee(in my opinion above most shops in dfw). Service is not pretentious at. This people clearly know what they are doing. And aren’t afraid to break the intimating stereotype most of coffee shops share. Totally recommend you the visit and experience the difference!

This morning I got the opportunity to drive to Black Coffee for my pre-worship service cup of Joe! I decided to try out the #brownSugarBabeColdBrew which they don't add the breve now. Instead it has cold foam on top which is what I wanted anyway! The cold brew was smooth with just a hint of sweetness, just the way I like my coffee. I prefer to taste my cold brew moreso than the sugary ingredients. I also ordered a pour over, straight- no cream no sugar. And I got to watch my barista make it. It's black coffee, just made in a different way. I could tell the grounds were fresh though, bold and robust! Loved it. I also got a chocolate milk with a little vanilla syrup for my little and a veggie breakfast sandwich! She gobbled it up before I could get more than three bites, haha. I had a wonderful experience, the coffee is fantastic! I saw others ordering the snickers latte and now I need to make another trip out for that ;) Today I brought my own cup to cut down on waste, I LOVE that Black Coffee let’s us do this!!! Thank you Black Coffee! Cool artwork btw!

This has become my favorite place to be on Saturday morning with my sister and brother. The atmosphere is wonderful. The staff and owners provide impeccable service. I had been looking for a coffee shop in Fort Worth that was local owned. Over Starbucks over priced breakfast while I worked post workout. Ordered the Flavored Latte:Lavender... because why NOT take risk and 2 tacos. There’s bar stools and tables with plugs! Atmosphere is eclectic and modern. I will probably drive out of my way to do some work here... Afrobeats while I work too. *kmt*

Black Coffee (locally owned) is a GEM. Located near Texas Wesleyan University it's a great spot that has an easy going ambiance and friendly atmosphere. Of course, you can get good coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a nice pastry at Black Coffee but it's also a place to meet up with family/friends, business associates and talk or just sit back, relax and reflect on your day.

Lovely locally owned coffee shop. Clean and comfortable inside. Good assortment of standard coffee drinks. Unfortunately, they were out of coconut milk on my visit so I wasn’t able to try the intriguing Piña Colada with espresso, pineapple juice and coco milk. Next time!!

Black coffee is the utterly amazing. I stumbled upon this establishment with my husband. Their lavender coffee instantly boosts my mood. The atmosphere is so inviting & engaging. Soft music gently caresses your ears as you wait to order your coffee...which is always abundant in flavor. The artwork is insane and they have merchandise that I find super appealing. Staff is always friendly. Starbucks who!!!! Keep up the great job!

Was called for a plumbing job there so once done I was curious about this green drink I always see. I asked the worker about it while telling her what I like she said no worries I got you. 2 min later if that she handed me my drink and when I say this lol green macha with honey and something else sweet 🤣 was good. I had to text the owner and tell her cause I normally don’t drink coffee like that unless it’s blended but now it’s got a new favorite coffee. Definitely go try it out highly recommended A+++++frfr

My test of a good coffee place is to order a black cup of coffee. It should go without saying because of the name, but this place passed with flying colors. Aside from making a damn decent cup of coffee, the pastry I had was flavorful and flaky, the baristas were friendly and worked efficiently, and (even with the place fairly packed) the atmosphere was plenty comfortable enough to take advantage of their "community library" and kick back with a good book for a couple of hours.

I truly enjoyed my morning here! They've curated a very welcoming and inviting space. The coffee and everything bagel breakfast sandwich were very good and ready super quick. The staff aren't super chatty/ outgoing, but they were kind, which is fine by me. I like that they are rooted in the community and offer opportunities to get involved in various initiatives. I’ve been a couple of times now and have never had a bad experience.

Thank you so much, Mia, for always creating a beautiful, blissful, and curated black experience for me with each visit. All my family knows if I’m getting coffee at home or the DFW airport, I’m only getting Black Coffee. My coffee or tea is always the perfect temperature so I never have to wait to enjoy. And the signature and seasonal drinks ALWAYS HIT! I’ve been coming here for years and realize that I’ve never left a review. Thank you so much for everything that you do!

Boutique coffee shop with all the right vibes. Staff were so incredibly friendly and the latte was delicious! They always have seasonal lattes and let me tell you…. Stopped by Black Coffee for the first time in July 2024, and the latte was one of the best I’ve had. Small inside but enough space for ample seating with a good vibe, music, and atmosphere. Love supporting Black owned businesses and the staff was so friendly. The salsa and breakfast taco is sooo good! Such a cool trendy spot right across from TWU (Texas Wesleyan University) so you’ll see several come in there from the campus. Pretty good parking for the area. Will be back!

Spending time here is the epitome of support local, black owned, woman owned businesses! Couple things I love on the menu: Cinnamon Honey Latte, Matcha Latte, and their season drinks never miss! I stopped here on my way to work this morning on the recommendation of a freind and I was not disappointed at all. A quick rundown of the location and building, it is very close to TWU, Rosedale St., and HWY 287, so fairly easy to get to. The parking lot is huge, with many spaces to accomodate any vehicle, they do not have a drive-thru, however, I enjoyed that because the interior was inviting and warm. I could see myself spending time there working on projects, meeting with clients, or just sitting down and enjoying my drink. Speaking of my drink, I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk, of all the matcha's that I have had in the area, this is one of the best. NO need to add any extra sweeteners like agave or honey, it was just right. I literally spent the next two hours trying to space out my sips so I could enjoy it as much as I can. I really wanted to get in my car and head back and get another one. Usually I make a matcha every morning before work, but after having theirs, I am going to break that habit. Don't pass up Black Coffee, you will be amazed what this local shop has to offer.

OK, let's get into it. Off the bat, I had a great experience at black coffee this afternoon. I went to thenpcation looking for an iced coffee that was nothing short of excellent. From a quality perspective, the beverage beats anything you can get from a major coffee retailer. The service that was provided was fast, and the gentleman that took my order was very attentive. He also was very aware of the menu and could coach me through the process, as this was my very 1st time visiting this location. If I had anything to say at all from a feedback perspective, It would be that there needs to be a few sugar-free options for those of us who are trying to watch our waistlines. But even given that, I plan on being back at Black Coffee very soon. Great job, guys!

Today is my cousin's birthday. After church service. I decided to take her out for coffee and pastry to put a little on her stomach! I remembered hearing so much about Black Coffee ☕. This was both of our first time visiting. They did not disappoint. It was everything I heard and more. Staff was so friendly and patient. Nice, quiet, relaxing environment. Soft music 🎶 playing and smells ohhhh soooo good when you walk in. It started our next adventures off perfectly!!! Thank you BLACK COFFEE ❤❤.

I went here on a Tuesday morning and I loved the vibes, coffee, and design. However, the place was kind of small and the place started filling up, so it got kind of loud. The atmosphere was great, but if you're looking for a quiet chill place, this wasn't it for me today. Definitely recommend for the coffee and breakfast!

This place is charming to me. They had an outside seating area. The service was great, the employees were friendly, and I would definitely drive the 25 minutes to go back there. Just because the people are friendly

Exhilarating, a tasteful sensation to your taste buds as well as your senses. I was very impressed! Coffee is my treat every once in awhile. I just became a frequent. For now I can only give four stars because I have not tried everything I'm stuck on this one flavor of coffee latte. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Loved the atmosphere. I got a salted caramel cold brew and it was pretty good. I felt some type of way about having my coffee and ham & cheese croissant just sitting at the counter when I was sitting down and was literally the only person in the cafe. I wish the staff could have brought it to me but I may just be feeling entitled... #innerKaren Overall I enjoyed the coffee. The ham & cheese croissant was nothing to write home about but the decor was very cute!

I had to stay at Fort Worth for two nights, and Google recommended this coffee shop to me. It's pretty close to the university, and I must say that I am really impressed with this coffee shop. Don't let the look of it's neighborhood deceive you from the fact that it is really good. Had almond croissant, potato taco, and berry latte. I'm impressed with how they don't add too much of sugar to their drinks.

Cozy little coffee shop located next to TWU. Clean facility and ample parking. I order Carmel mocha latte w/almond which was delicious. I also order a potato egg and cheese taco and the pumpkin bread. I wasn’t a fan of either but they do get these from local shops. Even though I’m not a coffee drinker I would definitely visit again just for the coffee.

Relatively small, but that's not a bad thing until you're the one that needs a table. LOL! The coffee was grand! The atmosphere was not uncomfortable! I wish coffee shops would use more comfortable chairs, though. They closed early for the holiday (Juneteenth), so we had to leave. I would've stayed longer, but I am thankful they were open. Good little place. I'll go back!

It's a cute little coffee shop. The lady was nice, the shop open and inviting. But her coffee and food wasn't there for me. It was a pour over but tasted better than Starbucks but not so much better to get me excited. If you need a quick cup on the go this might be your place.

Coffee is barely above regular normal (almost like 7-11) Service, it needs a nicer lady ... The place is somewhat clean ... Prices are a bit high for the size and coffee quality...

I decided to give this spot a 2nd chance earlier today and again, disappointing. First, I order a cold brew. Their syrup up-charge is $0.75 / syrup. Most if not all other coffee shops are courteous to charge only one charge for multiple flavors (I drink mine vanilla and hazelnut). Secondly, my mother asked if they had a cold “hot” chocolate. A not-very customer friendly cashier mentioned “we have chocolate milk”. Fairly underwhelming; Third, I asked them if I could have a bit of cinnamon powder on top and they mentioned they charge for that, too. Not trying to get stuff for cheap anywhere, but a cold brew (black) that’s already > $5 is already pushing it. On top of that, I don’t believe they have a condiment table like most, if not all coffee shops visited. The first step towards a bit improvement starts with your customer service and better staff.
