Cross Culture Haddonfield Reviews
Divine, perfect flavor. Menu is a little different from Indian restaurants in the state where I live now. The onion stuffed bread was awesome.
Best Indian food in the area! Highly recommend the Lasooni Gobi and Lamb Curry. Be careful with the spice level- things can get hot quickly, so definitely bring a bottle of wine if you're eating there in person.
Cross Culture delivers the Indian Food you want at a value that can't be beat. The Chicken Tikki Masala was delectable, the naan was freshly baked and the service was fantastic.
Cross-Cultures in Haddonfield offers a delightful fusion of flavors from various cuisines. The garlic naan, with its generous portions and perfect for spreading mango chutney, sets a promising start. The veggie app for two, featuring samosas, parokas, and papadams, impresses with its plentiful serving and delectable lightly fried goodness. The Navaratan Korma, creamy with plenty of veggies and bold spices, serves as a satisfying main dish when paired with rice and naan. Overall, the restaurant impresses with nicely packed dishes, generous portions, delicious flavors, and efficient service.
Absolutely amazing BYOB!! The staff was informative and attentive. The food was prepared just right; delicious, authentic and arrived timely. We started with the Bread Basket (Naan) and the Eggplant and Shrimp appetizer. The appetizer was 5+ stars for presentation, taste and uniqueness. A must try! Then we added Chana Masala, Lamb Curry, Daal Makhani, and Chicken Vindaloo. So much food, all delicious and we had seconds the next day. Cross Culture's menu is extensive - - we definitely need to return and try more dishes!
I ordered this Chef's tasting menu (thali) absolutely enjoyed it. The server was so nice and welcoming, I had my pup with me and sitting ojtdoor and the server proactively offered to get some water for the pup! Highly recommended this place
My husband and I visited a few weeks ago for a dinner date. This place has the best mango lassis we’ve ever had. The service in wonderful, the atmosphere is beautiful, the staff is super friendly, and the food is mind blowing and very affordable.
Delicious food, comfortable seating and great service. Highly recommend the Biryani and the chef's tasting options so you get a variety.
Food and service was great. It was our fist time having Indian cuisine and we absolutely loved it!! Would definitely recommend
Most authentic and delicious food. Very welcoming owner and great service. Must recommended
Fantastic food, loved it. Will definitely come back
Amazing food! Great atmosphere! Family friendly.
The food was amazing! The service was excellent. We can’t wait to go back!
Got lamb, chicken 🍗, salmon 🍣 and shrimp for dinner! Delicious 😋! Going back! Tasty and healthy!
Walking through the Haddonfield shopping district during Christmas for the first time was a truly memorable experience. On this particular evening, we chose to dine at an Indian restaurant. Opting for a very early dinner at 5 PM, we were the first ones to arrive and were able to enjoy a lovely evening filled with delicious food and a charming atmosphere, complete with relaxing music. We started our meal with vegan lentil soup and garlic naan bread, both of which were absolutely delicious. The lentil soup was prepared in a traditional manner and was incredibly tasty. The naan bread was freshly baked and served as the perfect accompaniment for dipping into my main course. I decided on the Baingan Bartha, a dish made with roasted eggplant, tomatoes, onions, herbs, and spices. The dish offered various levels of spiciness, and I chose a level slightly higher than medium. It was served with fragrant jasmine rice and was seasoned to perfection. My friend ordered the lamb saagwala dish, which consisted of tender lamb cooked with spinach and traditional Indian spices. She described it as absolutely fantastic. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience with great service in a comfortable setting. Shortly after we arrived, the restaurant began to fill up with more guests, but we were grateful for the peaceful start to our evening. I threw some extra pictures in there. It’s just such a beautiful time of year in Haddonfield Township couldn’t resist..
Fantastic food, lovely staff, cozy and inviting atmosphere! We live in Philly next to lots of excellent Indian restaurants, but we'll still make the drive over for Cross Culture! We always get the vegetarian appetizer sampler for two, it's a must!!! Everything is so tasty you'll have a hard time picking a favorite. We split the chef's vegetarian tasting platter and loved getting to try all the different curries! You also get salad, naan, a samosa, papadum, and a dessert rice pudding. You get so much food for a great price, we're always shocked. And the restaurant itself has a lot of seating but still feels cozy! Warm lighting, good soft South Asian beats, comfy chairs. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. We love it here and you will too.
Certainly one of the best Indian restaurants in the region. I suggest venturing beyond tikka masala and korma, even though both of those are phenomenal at Cross Culture. Pictured you will see whats listed as their “Chicken Curry” — The name might be kind of general, but the flavor they get in the sauce on that dish is serious, don’t pass it up! Also pictured you will see whats listed as the “Lamb Shank” — The menu says it is their “chef’s signature dish” and I can see why, it was awesome!!! Also we haven’t found a better mango lassi than theirs. If you know Indian food you know how hit or miss those can be. Thank you Cross Culture!
I can't write enough good things about cross culture. Food is consistently amazing. Over the last year or two I've been so impressed I'll randomly try new dishes. And I'm so glad I have....I found two of my absolute favorites. The Samoa Chaat is amazing. So is the spicy eggplant and shrimp. And that's not enough touching on my main order! I also highly recommend the Chefs special naan. Lamb korma, chicken cashmere, and paneer masala are staples for us.
Went first time to this location and as always Cross Culture never disappoints. The atmosphere is really nice. It’s welcoming with a lot room for dine in. The service staff is very friendly and makes sure you are comfortable. The food is also really tasty. After ordering, the food didn’t take long to arrive which was nice to see. Had the paneer masala, Navratan Korma, garlic naan and Mango d’fengo and everything was top notch. Will be visiting in the future as well.
Best samosa chaat I have ever had. We ate outside and all was lovely. Try the cinnamon lassi! I will be back.
Best Indian Food around. I must say the taste and quality of food at its top. Really enjoyed the food and the service was great as always. Great atmosphere and the staff is amazing very friendly, gives you the best service. Love the music also.
The food came out pretty quick, we got the chicken vindaloo and the okra dish with basmati rice and garlic naan and mango lasi. They rate spiciness from 1 to 10; I got the chicken vindaloo at a 7 and found it to be what I'd consider a decent amount of spicy so if you like spicy don't be afraid to go for 10 or else you may not find it spicy enough. Their mango lasi was creamy and not too sweet which was very nice. The okra was savory and also a little spicy but very very good. Overall I would come back here, the staff was attentive and very polite.
Had a great time here. Ordered Tikka Masala with Lamb, Lassoni Gobhi, and naan chef special. Best Mango Lassi I’ve ever had, delicious food (they are accommodating of any spice level). I like my food a bit spicier and it was exactly what I wanted. Loved sitting outside and enjoying the nice weather. Would recommend for dine in or take out.
We love eating here. Love the food and atmosphere.
Ordered takeout. Food was excellent as always.
My husband and I dined here last night. The food was AMAZING!!!!! Fast service too. What a relaxing time we had. I will definitely bring family and friends to this incredibly warm and delicious place for lunch and dinner. Very comfortable environment. The nicest people too. By far the best Indian food around🥰
Absolutely hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I have ate at! The food was so fresh and flavorful! The service was outstanding! We are thrilled to have finally found good authentic Indian food in South Jersey. We will definitely be back!
Really good. In my top two Indian restaurants in the area. The chicken is particularly good and I don't usually love chicken at Indian restaurants. I've only had delivery but Indian food tends to deliver very well.
I have been coming here for years! I love this family owned restaurant. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I've tried so many things off the menu but my favorites are the Navarattan Korma, Kashmiri Naan and the Mango Lassi. Everyone here is so kind and welcoming, the restaurant is always clean and beautiful. After trying over 20+ different ones, this is the best Indian restaurant in New Jersey!
The food here is superbly prepared. A step above other Indian restaurants in the area. You can choose the spice level of your food. And I am very pleased with how they help me choose gluten and dairy free options. The staff is attentive and professional. We love this place. We come here for birthdays, celebrations, and just for fun. Oh yeah, and the booths are round which makes for an intimate meal.
I went today for the lunch buffet and it was absolutely delicious! Lunch buffet during the week is 10.95 a person and includes dessert (I had rice pudding today). They always have chicken tikka masala for the buffet which is great! I was able to try new indian cuisines I'd never tried before such as the chicken achari which was amazing! I have nothing bad to say about this place. Great price and even better food!! Staff was so friendly, attentive, and accommodating!
Friday night takeout win! Cashmere chicken and Chefs Special Byrani cooked perfectly and the naan was the best we’ve ever had through delivery. Cross Culture is always a favorite local spot and delivery tonight was incredible. Thank you!
The food was fantastic and the service top notch 👌. If you like or want to try Indian food then this is the place to come and ask for the sampler it is delicious 😋
Best Indian food in South Jersey. Been eating here and ordering takeout for over a decade.
I love to eat food and I love to try different things. I have been trying to find Indian cuisine in New Jersey and I guarantee this is it. Not only was it family friendly, the food came out in a timely manner, the staff was very helpful and the food was DELICIOUS in all caps 🤤🤤🤤🤤 We got the lamb Korman, the chicken tikka masala, naan bread both garlic and regular and the mango lassi. When I tell you I left satisfied and speaking about this place to everyone. I highly suggest and would continue to dine here *chef’s kiss*
My favorite lunch or dinner restaurant. I visit almost weekly. Chicken Tikka Masala is the best I've ever had and they always spice it exactly as I order it. Naan is freshly made with each order and comes out fluffy and tastes so good. This is the best Indian food I've ever had and I've tried many Indian restaurants. Service is always great too. You can also order vegetarian with lots of options. So many good dishes that it's fun to try new dishes each visit.
Went here for lunch with my parents on a lazy Saturday afternoon. There's plenty of seating but it's on main Street so might take a few minutes to find parking. The service was great and very accommodating. My mom is Jain (no onions, potatoes, or garlic) and they were able to make her a dish she really liked - paneer Tikka. Dad and I got the nomratma korma (spelling?) Yellow with plenty of veggies. We devoured both with the paratha and onion kulcha. I'd say the portions aren't the biggest but none of the food disappointed.
Lunch buffet was good. We also ordered Dahi Avacado Chat and it was tasty. Good service as well. Recommended.
My husband and I had date night here on Sunday. I can't say enough about the dinner which was delicious and would rate 5 stars. They received 4 stars because the decor is old and the booths need a through cleaning. The floors are filthy and should be replaced immediately. I had to lift my dress so it didn't touch the floors. Just made me feel "sceevvy" and took away from the dining experience.
Got take out (via Caviar) from here the other day, and just wanted to mention the order was correct and the multiple types of naan were excellent. Just confused about the weak seasoning…compared to Nimit Palace, Palace of Asia, Tiffin, and a few other places I love and frequent around here, it was very BLAND. I’d be open to trying it in person to see if ordering there, they can make the main dishes spicier, but I would not suggest take out from here if you want max flavor.
We were hungry when we landed in Philly Airport from Austin and for us better way to fill our stomach is by eating Indian food.... We looked for nearby restaurant and got this one open as it was already 4:00PM. Went to this place with lot of hopes, but it didn’t meet the expectations. The ambience was good and so as presentation of the dishes. But the taste is not that great. Their Biryani was neither Biryani nor a fried rice. The kebab appetizer looked very nice but it didn’t taste anything similar to Original Veg Kebab. They really need to change their recipe to taste their food to Indian food. Based on ambience, presentation and service I feel the rating is 3. They lose ratings for taste.
Highly overrated. I had their lunch buffet, which was just okay -- seemed like less than fresh ingredients. The buffet offers a limited selection and it came out so tough and barely heated through!!
Food was good but they list “onions” on the menu for over $4. Assuming it was a large thing of onion chutney I ordered it. It was half of a red onion sliced. That’s it. I’m appalled. Talk about taking advantage of your customer.
Chana Masala Is one of my favorite vegetarian meals, however, I didn’t like it at this restaurant . The chickpeas were served in a dark brown gravy that lacked flavor. I also tried the onion appetizer. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good. I will not eat here again.
After seeing some good reviews about this restaurant, we decided to give it a try but it was very disappointing. Ordered Gobi, the dough was raw and the gobis weren't fried properly. Couldn't eat them at all. Ordered Naan and Onion Kulcha with Malai Kofta, the breads had a foul smell, more like yeast smell and tasted very differently. Malai kofta was the only decent item among the three items although the 8/10 spice level was still mild. TL;DR - wouldn't recommend this place
Went to this place for the first time yesterday on 8/17/22. We did take away, our order was way to expensive for my liking, we got two lamb entrees both were $25 the portion of take away is incredibly small. We got one container of rice to share again for $25 each. Ordered garlic naan and the onion kolcha we got two pieces each and they put them in the same foil! Picture that now we have conflicting flavors on naan. Also the seasoning wasn’t good. Altogether the food taste good individually it’s a miss, greasy, watery, literally 7 pieces of lamb on each dish. We spent $75 on virtually nothing. We like to eat great and this one wasn’t that. Pepper house is better.
The food here was delicious and the variety was decent (a lot of chicken could of used some lamb or goat too)! (For that this should be a 4 or even 5 star rating) BUT, I am very disappointed in the management/advertising here. We received a flyer in the Money Mailer just two days ago that advertised specifically a lunch buffet on weekdays for 10.95 and a weekend buffet for 12.95. We went today a WEDNESDAY and there was a buffet so we ate from it. My husband paid the bill and left a great tip (considering it was buffet). As we were leaving I asked him how much it was and the price didn't sound right. I looked at the receipt and we were charged for 2 WEEKEND buffets. I went back to ask about this and the man said that the weekday buffet has been gone for 3 months and the reason they had a buffet today was for a festival?! Why was there then advertising received 2 days ago saying that there was still a weekday buffet?!?! And if this was not the norm anymore than he should have said in the beginning we have a festival today and a lunch buffet here is the new price.. He did say oh next time you are here we will do something for you...empty promise I am sure because was not given a card or a name to mention or anything. Highly disappointed in the discrepancy that happened. Even though the food is wonderful beware them overcharging and making it out like it is your fault.
I have ordered the food through DoorDash. The order was Chicken Cashmere, Samosa Chat, Tandoori Fish and some desert. All the foods are good but the Chicken is completely uncooked on the gravy. We could not eat the chicken but to threw it in the bin. A $18 premium Chicken dish with this poor quality. I won’t recommend anyone to select this item. Ask the restaurant if they can properly cook the food before delivery.
We ordered and picked up take-away tonight. Ordering and paying on-line was very straightforward and the food was ready at the designated time. Sadly, that was the best part of the review. We ordered Pakora, Chicken Tikka Marsala and Lamb Biriani. The Pakora was not freshly made and just seemed to be thrown into the container..some pieces were burnt others the batter was undone on the inside...The Chicken in the Chicken Tikka Marsala dish was “tough” and “dried out”....I have never before had an Indian Dish served anywhere that the chicken wasn’t moist and tender. The Biriani was just alright nothing special or exceptional. I’ve eaten at Cross Culture 3-4 times before and it’s been a hit or miss situation. Our Take-out order including tip was $50.00 and a complete waste and disappointment considering the Pakora and Chicken Tikka are now down the garbage disposal... Do yourself a favor and walk down the block to The Oriental Pearl....excellent food, superior service and never a disappointment no matter what you order....
I had a friend visiting from India after 10 years, and I wanted to make the evening special. Based on the reviews, I made the mistake of choosing Cross Culture. At first, things were fine. It’s BYOB, so we grabbed some craft beers across the street, and the appetizers were good. My friend liked them so much we ordered more. Since this was his first visit to the US, he asked if our plates could be changed before the main course — something that’s standard in India. I’m usually not picky about plates here, but it was his request, and after 10 years I wanted to honor it. The waiter looked annoyed right then, as if serving us was too much trouble. We ordered our main course at 8:40pm, fully aware the restaurant closed at 9:30pm. At 9:00pm, we asked for a few more naans — just bread, nothing new for the kitchen to cook. That’s when the waiter lost it. He said, “you guys are killing me.” Shocked, I asked what was wrong, and he ranted that we had been “ordering again and again” and that we should just eat off our dirty plates because the kitchen was closing. There were still 30 minutes left before closing, and again, we weren’t adding anything extra to the main course — just bread. When I pushed back gently, asking if this was really how he spoke to customers, his reply was: “well, the customer is not always right.” That was the final straw. It was clear he was frustrated simply because we took time to enjoy our beers and appetizers, asked for clean plates once, and then ordered bread later. Basically, because he had to serve us more than once. I’ve never seen such hostility in a restaurant. This wasn’t a “bad day.” This was someone who carries negative energy and shouldn’t be anywhere near hospitality. He ruined what should have been a precious evening after 10 years with my friend. Cross Culture completely failed to live up to its name. Respect and service are non-negotiable, especially when customers are paying and tipping 15–20% for it. If you value your time, your guests, or even basic decency, avoid this place at all cost!!
