Woody's Burgers Hamilton Reviews
We wanted to stop for something to eat - and fell over Woody’s kind of in the middle of the town. The place is nice and clean - and interesting pictures and posters on the walls. The burgers are really TASTY and you really want one more when you finish the first. Prices are nice, and the service polite and professional. Definitely a place to stop for a burger.
We were driving to Denton from SA and maps took us up 281. Didn't realize we went through Hamilton, where my wife spent time with family that lived in the area. Family was hungry and we stopped at Woody's to pick up some burgers in an old gas station by the main square. Besides the girl not understanding our order and repeating a few times, the burgers came out correct. I would recommend their smash burger as we got some singles and Woody's Doubles with their special sauce. I asked for one with the sauce on the side that I would have dipped my fries, but didn't get it. Doesn't matter, as the fries were good on their own.
Wow! I look forward to those rare occasions I get to stop at Woody’s for a burger. The burger wars end here! Woody’s has the best burger of all! A+ for flavor. A+ for presentation which includes the look and proportion of quality ingredients, right down to the gooey cheese! This modern day blast from the past is set in a vintage gas station/garage straight outta the Andy Griffith show! This burger is a as real as it gets!
I don’t often leave reviews, but this is very deserving I often drive down highway 281 heading from FTW area to hill country. There are several little towns you will pass through. This review is about a small little newly established hamburger place called Woodys. Do not confuse this one as a sister, brother or family member to the Mineral Wells staple. As I arrive, I see the clean freshly painted building and plenty of cars outside for a Thursday around 1:30. I arrive and was pleasantly greeted by a staff member behind the counter. Warm and friendly greeting. A local Hamiltonite. Explained story about how they are not second location to Mineral Wells but sheriff was named Woody. Sheriff Woody lived behind hamburger place and his wife cooked nightly for the inmates. There is also a family tie to Lee Harvey. Great history surrounding the town and location. Menu is not extensive and does not need to be. You must try of the hamburger. I ordered it all the way. Most do. They had 2 full size drink coolers to get your tasty beverage for your meal. Burger came to me about 10 minutes after ordering. Fresh, hot and extra tasty!! I must say as a burger fan (aren’t we all) they are right up there as one of the best I have had in years. Meat was not premade frozen patty but a freshly smashed meat burger with slight Smokey favors. Cheese was melted just right with shredded lettuce. Being that I was hungry, I had two bites before taking my picture. Fries we hot and flavorful. I always love trying new places. Especially in support of small towns and establishments. I can easily say I would drive 1.5 hours one way for this burger and experience. Walls have pictures, beer signs and plenty of historic pages to read over. Support these local small family owned places. They are what make America and roadside restaurants special. Do not just my word for it, try it yourself. You will see it’s a hidden gem not too terribly far away. Thanks Woodys !!! I’ll be by ever single time down 281!
I have never been so happy over a burger and fries. Woodys is my new burger spot and I am from ft worth. We will be back! 10 stars if I could
Wow What a wonderful place with all the old school posters and vintage signs. We were coming back from the GREENBAY AND DALLAS GAME .nothing was open last night ..so sad waited for a good place to eat at the wife mentioned woody hamburger What a gem ...service was excellent and so was everything else God bless GO PACK GO
Thes are by far some of the best burgers around! Wish we had something like this in Dallas. If ever in Hamilton we highly recommend the woodys double with a taco side. You won’t be disappointed!
Amazing experience all together. The best hamburgers in the state of Texas I have found by far. Their special sauce is out of this world and smash patties are my fav. Plus their fries were fresh and very crispy. Cannot recommend this enough!
Came here with family while visiting from out of town. This place is GREAT! Delicious burgers and perfectly salted fries. The cold beer and cool environment lead to great overall experience, plus they sell merch! (I got a sweet hat). 10/10 recommend if you like tasty smash burgers and cold beer.
Best burger and fries I’ve had in a long time. Very friendly staff and a cool building.
I was just passing through town looking for a good local place for lunch. Great burger, great fries. It was all hot, fresh, and made to order. People were very friendly. Serves beer. Highly recommend. 👍
We stopped for burgers while passing through town and were very pleased. The cute blue-eyed gal who took our order could not have been more friendly. She was so wonderful. The burgers were delicious. Fresh, handmade patties, plenty of fresh jalapenos and other fixins. The place is cute and super clean. We loved it. And a nice dog-friendly patio out front right on town square. This will be a regular stop to and fro for us. Thanks!
We stopped in on the way through town. This is a cool place that was converted from an old gas station. The burgers are excellent! They are thin meat and tasty. The menu is basic, but you're not gonna be sorry. Plus I love the bathrooms out around the side, just like when I was a kid going to pee on a trip with pop!
Little pricey for a burger but the food is really good and you get a lot. The fries are awesome. I wish they had fountain drinks. Really cool place, we go every time we're in Hamilton.
One of the best burgers around. I stop every time I drive thru Hamilton. The fries are off the chart as well. Large selection of can and bottled beverages. Good call on getting MichUltra
The place is very cool and super well done decor wise great atmosphere the food is solid but it is small portions and pricey but you get that with the tourist off the main drag.
Simple. Classic. Tasty. Best burger you'll find on 281 between Wichita Falls and San Antonio. The patty's smashed flat to get as much of that good grill contact. The buns are solid, and also get the grill treatment. Andalouse sauce brings it all together nicely. Fries are thin cut and simply seasoned: salt, pepper, cumin.
Absolute gem in Hamilton! We stopped by Woody's Hamburgers and were blown away. The burgers were superb—perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. What made the visit even better was the service; the lady who helped us was incredibly nice and genuinely friendly. It’s rare to find great food and great hospitality in one spot, but Woody’s nailed it. We will definitely be back!
Made a quick pit stop in Hamilton and stumbled on Woody’s Burger, one of the few spots open by the courthouse on a Saturday. The burger patties were on the thinner side, but the flavor and that Woody’s sauce? Chef’s kiss! The inside had a cool retro vibe with throwback photos all over the walls, plus a mix of comfy chairs and bench seating. The restrooms looked newly redone and were super clean which is a big bonus in my book. Service was fast and genuinely friendly, which tied the whole experience together. Definitely glad I stopped in!
When you see a burger joint like Woody's, (in today's age) most folks tend to think it's all show, no substance. I am absolutely delighted to report that this is not the case for this cute little burger joint. The menu features a customizable burger, their delicious home style fries, and drinks. That's it. That's all you need. One of the best burger joints I'll ever eat at, that's a fact.
Absolutely fabulous food! Cute atmosphere. Comfortable seating. So yummy! Reasonable prices! Large drink selection!! We will be back!
Delicious hamburgers. My kids were begging to go back! We stopped on our way to the hill country, nice restrooms, quick service and very friendly atmosphere. The special sauce was delicious, similar to a canes style sauce. Yum
Excellent burger and the truffle fries are delicious. The simple menu makes ordering very simple. Service is quick and staff is very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was very laid back and relaxed, most like the area hangout. Decor is cool. Well worth a quick pit stop.
Excellent hamburger and fries. Burger was thin and juicy, bun properly sized. Building appears to be a converted gas station. Great location with a small park/walking bridge/museum nearby.
If you like smash burgers, you'll love this place. We were passing through and on a whim, decided to give it a try. My wife, son and i all got smash burgers and i added bacon and jalapeno. We all agreed, they were great and we're all burger snobs. If you're not familiar with smash burgers, they are cooked on grills in a ball and the patty is "smashed" flat. Where some places make mistakes is that they fail to smash the buns. This places smashes them as well. So you get a crispy toasted bun, thin, crispy patty and diced up veggies; just like smash burgers were meant to be. If you're hungry, I'd suggest two patties. Prices were good and service was quick. Id give this place a solid 9/10. If they had home cut fries, this place would be a solid 10/10 and I've only rated two places in Texas that high. This place has great burgers.. HIGHLY recommended!
I took a mini roadtrip and didn't know what was around. Stumbled upon this burger joint and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. The burger was good!!! I highly recommend if you're in the area to stop by :)
The menu is simple and I like that. The double burger was absolutely awesome.
Quite possibly the best burgers on the planet. My daughter asks to stop here every time we pass through - even if it's not lunch or dinner time. These are smash burgers done right, the buns are amazing, the beef tastes like beef and the onions with the special sauce really do set these burgers apart. The menu could not be simpler. Great staff and awesome food!
Happen to this place driving by. One of the best burgers I've ever put in my mouth. Staff were really nice, and prices were affordable. Thank you. Woody's is a must stop every time from now on.
Best burger you can have within $10. I got a burger and a fries. Each bite was a burst of flavor and juiciness. The quality of the ingredients was evident, from the perfectly seasoned patty to the fresh toppings. The atmosphere was inviting, with a trendy and modern decor. The service was prompt and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. If you're a burger aficionado, this place is a must-visit. I left completely satisfied and already planning my next visit. This burger joint has definitely earned its spot among my favorite places to grab a delicious, mouthwatering burger.
We drive this way from Marble Falls to Arlington 4-5 times a year to avoid I35. We were looking for something quick and this “newish” place popped up. We were sad when Brads closed and Storms is just ok. Boom, here is Woodys. They serve burgers and fries. That’s it, with or without cheese. $6. Burgers were GREAT. Fries standard. Made to order, fast service. Remember burgers in Marble Falls or Austin start at $10. This is way better than p Terrys. When they bring the burgers out, they don’t ask for names, you don’t get a number, they describe you on the check. This will be a do over.
We usually drive I35… this trip we decided for the scenic trip… My wife found this place and WoW!! Did not disappointed us… good size burgers and the fries…. Way better than the Mc you know where … every one of them were crunchy and delicious 🤤 will come back for sure

Great cheeseburger and fries! As a matter fact, that’s the only thing on the menu - burgers and fries, and they do a fantastic job!!

I got the double woody and it was awesome. The sauce is fantastic. They have glass bottle, Dublin soda. Great retro vibe. The building used to be an old service station - very cool.
This is a burger joint that will keep you coming back! My loaded burger was delicious and perfectly messy with all the extra toppings and their special sauce. The atmosphere was fun with indoor and outdoor seating. They even had a ropping game on the patio for kids.
Stopped here for lunch on our way home from Fredericksburg back to Dallas. We’ve passed it several times as we make this trip a few times a year but we’ve never stopped because we’ve either already eaten or it’s been too late. I’m so glad we finally had the chance to stop. The burgers were delicious. I got the woody’s signature burger and my husband got the cheeseburger with jalapeno and bacon added. We also had the fries which were tasty. I know this will become our go to staple when we make this drive!

Smash burgers, so a little light on being a beefy patty. Needed seasoning on the meat. Liked the lightly toasted bun. We were driving through on our way to arrange a track meet. Placed order ahead of time and was pulled when we pulled up. Looks like a neat joint, but we had to get back on the road. Still is my kinda place!!!
Great idea, to have a burger joint inside an old Filling Station. The counter service was fine and helpful. Simple menu. You can sit outside or in service bays. The burger was very good. Bun and meat were highlights. Skinny fries were cooked crispy. Overall yummy experience 😋

This place is mid. $20 for a smash burger handful of fries, and a DP. Burger comes with nothing but cheese and pickles. Ripoff if you ask me. Service was okay. This place belongs in LA
Foods great, atmosphere is great. Watch your receipt when paying cash. Got charged a CC fee today, even when paying cash. Cashier told me 'the system automatically adds it'.
Limited menu. Burger patties are very thin. Order a double. Tacos are good but very small. Order at least 4.
Really fast service and nice employees. However, there were more flies inside than outside. Like, we went outside to eat away from the flies. Burger was fine, good for $6. Can't get those prices anywhere anymore for a full cheeseburger like that.

unlike any burger I've ever had, good from far, but far from good.... just weird. Passing through on way to Dallas. Know where I won't go next time.
