La Palapa Mexican Cafe Harris County Reviews
I come here about once a week with my family and every single time has been absolutely exquisite! The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the service is always top notch. I couldn’t recommend this place enough honestly if I could I’d eat here every day
We ate here for dinner and it was phenomenal! Good authentic and affordable! We will be coming back!
I was surprised by this little restaurant. It is well kept and clean; the music is authentic Mexican music and not the merengue many "Mexican" restaurants use; the food was delicious. We ordered a caldo tlalpeno and a Molcajete and were not disapointed. The meat was soft and juicy. Our waitress, Laura, did an exceptional job, and our food did not take long to be ready. We are returning to this place to try their breakfast and definitively would recommend it!
We really enjoyed our breakfast, The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We plan on returning.
My family and I stopped here and had dinner. The service was amazing and the food even better. The ladies serving out table were very attentive. Apart from the restaurant recently opening the cooks and staff did awesome in getting out order ready in a timely matter. There was 8 of us and orders from tortas, shrimp, steaks, and fish and it was all very good. So good we forgot the pics 😂 10/10 recommend!!
I’ve been looking for a place ever since I moved to Houston where they serve delicious Mexican breakfast. Not that Tex-Mex stuff 😂. This place is really good. My girlfriend order the chicharrón Gorditas, which were very delicious. I ordered the green Chilaquiles with steak. I 100% recommend this place. It’s not too expensive either
Delicious food!! Portions are huge and prices are great. Definitely recommend:)

It was a nice surprise, good food, good prices, good service. Would visit again.
Food was great and atmosphere was terrific. Place was slow but everything was great . I had the carne guisada Will be back
Place was dead so I was a little unsure, but me, and my husband sat down anyways. And after trying the food im actually surprised cause it was good! And im pretty picky lol
Authentic mexican dishes, I've tried the molcajete that has grill shrimp, chicken and fajita beef, the portions are great, also the Fish and Shrimp. Friendly and attentive service, affordable prices A highly recommended restaurant
Place was dead when we first walked in, so i was a little skeptical at first but once my husband and i sat down service from the ladies were wonderful, food was amazing! even at 1pm we were still able to order breakfast, again food amazing everything tasted so good and also so FRESH! definitely recommend and we will come back.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Right next to Pacos bakery. A perfect little spot especially if you love really good Mexican food, plated beautifully, delicious margaritas and a clean, inviting, comfortable atmosphere with beautiful decor. My husband brought me and I couldn't love it more. The food was so good, the service was fast and friendly, they had the TV and music going at the perfect volume to still be able to have a conversation. The portions are perfect (the burrito was HUGE) and the prices were so affordable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice spot for a meal.
The flautas were so good! The owner was very friendly and gave us some of the new crawfish he will be adding to the seasonal menu and they were amazing!

It's absolutely amazing. Was our first time, but not our last. Fajita and homemade tortillas were absolutely better than any high dollar mexican restaurant.
Today, I had breakfast at La Palapa Mexican Café, and it was a delightful experience. The meal started off wonderfully with a complimentary coffee and fresh pan from the panadería next door, a lovely touch that set the tone for the morning. I ordered the chilaquiles with eggs and breakfast potatoes, and we also tried the avocado toast. The food was delicious, bursting with authentic flavors that made every bite enjoyable. The chilaquiles were flavorful, and the breakfast potatoes were perfectly seasoned. The avocado toast wasn’t quite what we expected because it wasn’t the typical mashed avocado on toast with eggs on top, but it was still phenomenal. The only minor downside was that the food wasn’t as hot as I would have liked. Despite this, the quality of the meal more than made up for it. Overall, La Palapa Mexican Café offers a great breakfast experience, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone in the area. 4 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Down to earth Mex grill for breakfast to dinner. Breakfast was good

Food was really good, very tasty and authentic. Service was a different story... one of the waiters (older lady) has been very rude every time we go there, she has no patience at all. She asks what we want to order and leaves in the middle of placing our order, she gets very desperate if you don't place your order right away, fast and precise. The only reason we keep going back is because of the food but this specific lady is the reason we always think twice before coming here, unfortunately she is the one waiter that attends our table every time, we've tried different tables on different areas of the restaurant and almost every time that table belongs to her area. If you don't like customer service, you don't have the patience or service attitude to be in this line of work... just quit and work somewhere else.
I ordered enchiladas al carbon and I don’t know how to explain what they gave me. It was disgusting. I would never go back. I wish I could post a picture.
This place oust to be good when they were inside Pacos. But completely went down the drain. They are so overpriced now. They charged my husband before checking to see they had enough tamales. They didn’t have enough tamales and they couldn’t give him a refund so he had to get something else of equal value. My husband comes home and they forgot to put the tamales in the bag! He went back, they didn’t even apologize and when he finally came home, they were all burned at the end. So angry because they packaged them and didn’t care they sold burned tamales. Never coming back. Make sure you are charged AFTER they check for inventory or you won’t get a refund.
I love the place and the lady that usually takes our order but the lady today had the worst attitude when we walked in. And after I asked was the other lady here she said why whats the problem and I told her because she was rude. And she even had a worst attitude after that. Idk her name but this is when I came.
