The Old Forge Lelant

Myself and my wife came here for the first time recently, what a gem! We've been wanting to for a while, as we live nearby and hadn't been before. Lush breakfast, lovely staff, really nice chilled atmosphere. Nice warm outside area which is under a roof, and a warm main restaurant area with a log fire. Will definitely be returning.

First time trying the old forge at Lelant and was extremely happy, service was exceptional and the food was fantastic couldn't even manage a desert the portions were that generous, I had the chicken gyros and my partner had the Bolognese both were excellent 👌.

Food and atmosphere were both brilliant! We had such a lovely meal and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Gluten free and Vegan menus available which takes the effort out of ordering. Would 100% recommend!

Lovely place for breakfast, great drinks and can cater for dietary requirements fully…GF, Vegan and normal menu.

Wow!!! Saw this place on a Coeliac page and it did not disappoint! We just turned up, they squeezed us in, staff we're absolutely fantastic and I was not made to feel like a burden asking questions! Had the crab pasta, I can without a doubt say it was the best pasta I have ever had! Ice cream with lots of extras that I couldn't even finish! Even went back for the pizza on our last day, again the BEST gluten free pizza I've ever had! Spoke to the chef, told him how amazing the food is! Definitely worth a visit!

This is a great little place with a variety of excellent food with good portions. The staff are friendly and attentive and the decor is wooden giving the place a relaxed feel. We all had different things and were all pleased with our choices. Only downside is the number of parking spaces. Will definitely be going back.

Visited the Old Forge several times in the past few years, and we have never been disappointed! The food is always incredible (the dough balls are superb!), there is a great choice of specials and the staff are always very friendly. Will definitely be returning!

The food and staff were amazing and overall one of the best meal experiences I’ve had. We was told there was a delay on the food but it still came fast enough, there was no doubt that the staff deserved a good tip. Fantastic, we will be returning on future holidays.

We had an amazing meal here! Our first time in the area and we found this pub through google reviews. We ordered scotch egg, Korean chicken, squid, dough balls and the crab linguini, it was all served fast, hot and absolutely delicious! We loved it all. The staff were friendly and the terrace area was lovely quiet and spacious, they are dog friendly and we parked in the station car park and had no issues! Hope to come back if we are in the area!

Very clued up on Allergens and Dietary requirements, particularly Gluten which is great for Coeliacs. Plenty of Gluten Free options and adaptations in food and drink. Food very tasty and well presented, and service was attentive and friendly. The venue is small and thoughtfully presented for an informal and relaxed environment. Will come back and do recommend.

I was excited to try the crab linguine after reading the reviews and it did not disappoint! Excellent food, we also ordered the sweetcorn fritters (the best we've had), vegetarian pizza, the catch of the day and soft serve ice cream. Staff very accommodating and customer service on point.

Popped in for a coffee and cake while walking the coastal path to Hayle and was not disappointed. Lovely staff, atmosphere, and above all cakes!

The best food we had in the St Ives area. Excellent restaurant with a great deli shop. The staff were really nice and friendly and the service was brilliant. However, the food was the star of the show, I had the Whitebait to start, which was the freshest, tastiest that I've had with a delicious homemade tartar sauce. For main I had the amazing Ragu, my friend described it as the best she's ever had. It was stunning! For dessert, I had the berry pavlova which was another stunner. My other companions had chicken wings and were blown away by the sauce, the chicken burger (one of the best he'd had) and the kids shared a pizza and pasta which they loved. The wines and cocktails were also excellent.

Absolutely top notch food, perfectly balanced. The new hake special was heavenly and, despite sounding overly complicated, was perfectly balanced. The sticky toffee pudding was the greatest, most luxuriant dessert I have ever had. Well kept beer too and they welcomed our dog Basil with open arms!

We had a take out pizzas from here. Honestly, it's the best pizza we've had in the UK!! We are very glad we found this place on our travels. Not only is the amazing food, the service is next level, warm and welcoming. We were asked when ordering how far away we were to ensure the pizza was fresh when we arrived to collect. Highly recommend to anyone who loves great food and flavours.

Went here after recommendations from others, for a date night with the missus. Food did not disappoint, service was personal and brilliant. Be back again as I heard the roast is decent!

Amazing vegan options with proper deserts and starters (no sad little salad + sorbet)! Massive portions and really good quality, with a lovely cosy ambience and great decor. Will definitely go again!

I've never had arancini so I thought I'd give it a try. I was absolutely blown away at how flavourful it was! The ratio of ingredients was spot on - no single ingredient overpowered another. The crab linguine was excellent as well (maybe could have had a touch more crab,) and I don't know that I've ever had a better sticky toffee pudding.

Have eaten here 3 times and on all occasions it has been excellent. This visit was for a birthday and did not disappoint. Cheese dough balls, steak, satay chicken wrap - all very flavourful and prepared to a high standard. Portion sizes very good, service highly attentive. Will definitely return again.

We visited here as a lady minute decision as we couldn't get into the place we'd planned to eat in. What a stoke of luck! The food is outstanding in this place. I wouldn't say it's cheap and cheerful, but not mega expensive either for what you get. Probably the best meal we've during our visit to Cornwall in the last few weeks. The only advice I'd give is to park at the disused train station which is located in the housing estate opposite the restaurant as we couldn't get a space at first and struggled to find anything else. Next time I'd head straight for the parking rather than try for a space outside.

Lovely little restaurant. Great food, lovely wine and great atmosphere. Book a table in the evenings on busier days as we went on a Thursday and was busy. We had the Dough Balls, Meatballs and Sweetcorn fritters to start. These were amazing! Also had the chorizo pizza and rissoto for mains, also so delicious. The staff were super kind and enjoyed every minute. Thank you!

Just had a fabulous lunch at the old forge! Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Decor super cosy and having a table for two that was actually big enough for two made such a pleasant change! Food was tasty and hot, really good portion sizes and lovely presentation. Crab linguine was delicious. I ordered black forest cheesecake for dessert and was so impressed with the way it was served (pic attached). Can highly recommend the Expresso Martinis... One of the nicest I've had. Thank you to all the team at the forge for such a fab dining experience. We look forward to returning.

It's cosy and clean, and the food is delicious. Breakfast is served in small and large portions. It has very nice staff and cleans thoroughly after guests leave. ❤🧡

Lovely food in a great restaurant. The menu is fairly small but means all the dishes are very well made.

Love the ambiance! The food was fresh and tasty. We ordered crab linguine and Thai red curry which was nice. We went there for brunch without any prior reservation but they manage to arrange a table for us. However, they recommend you to do prior reservation.

Booked this on a whim and really glad we did! The setting is very relaxed but impressive. The food was delicious and quick to come out and our waiter was friendly, funny and made our night very enjoyable! Definitely coming back!

We had a fantastic experience at The Forge. Traveling with family food allergies can be challenging, but the team here was incredibly accommodating and attentive. It was clear they take it seriously. The staff made us feel welcome and safe, and on top of that, the food was delicious. Thoughtful service and great flavors all around. Highly recommend.

Impeccable visit. Lovely welcome and attentative service throughout. Very clean and fresh decor. Pasta was fresh and delicious and can tell it's home made. Fantastic quality and taste.

Food was absolutely spectacular we went twice while on holiday, even for someone who is Coeliac and Dairy Free my partner was able to eat and be accommodated for. Only downside was the speed of table service, both times we felt it was very slow. Ordering breakfast for 4, 2 adults, 2 young children. Ordering to receiving the food was close to 30 minutes, we had to order more drinks because we had all finished by the time food came out and unfortunately those drinks came once we were finished as well. Pretty place and staff were fine, even checking with chefs about certain aspects to make sure my partner was completely safe. Cost wise was a little on the expensive side.

We enjoyed brunch here in the very attractive outside space. The food is great quality with a good range of different options, including vegetarian and vegan dishes. The waiting staff are very friendly. The coffee is a little sour but perhaps that's a matter of taste. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here and would eat here again if I were in the local area.

Lovely place staff were friendly but also gave you time to sit and enjoy your meal. They even made a free from pepper corn sauce for one of our family members who has allergies

Went here today for a lunch, food was great. We ordered cheesy dough balls, scotch egg, pepperoni pizza and fish of the day, everything was spot on! Really nice atmosphere inside the restaurant but the table right next to us, a group of 4 people, they were really really loud, like literally shouting to each others, not even considering other people around ruining our lunch, me and my husband can't even hear each other. No, I don't blame the restaurant for that. Shame we didn't get offered dessert menu while they did to the other 2 tables. It wasn't even busy only few tables around 3pm. We sat there for about 15 minutes after the waitresses cleared up our empty plates expecting they'll come with dessert menu or just checking on us but they didn't, then we decided to just pay at the till. Wanted to try their tiramisu and sticky toffee pudding but oh well, never mind.

Sunday roast was very nice but menu very very limited and was seated in a very cold area dispite the large availabilty in the main area. The pizza arrived 25 mins after everyone elses food and very disappointing. Wouldnt return. Cost over 100.00 and this was for 3 mains and 3 drinks. Food arrived 50 mins after ordring yet place was empty. Added a 11.69 service charge

Food A* Service A* Atmosphere and decor A* What let it down for me, and I mean really let it down, was the optional service charge that they automatically add to your bill. I asked for it off, however it doesn’t make you feel good for having to do that.
