Slappin' Chick in Hicksville is a must-try for anyone craving some seriously delicious fried chicken- that too, Halal!!! The menu offers a variety of chicken dishes, from classic fried chicken to spicy chicken sandwiches and tenders. I have tried pretty much everything on the menu over the past year and have never been disappointed. Their chicken is perfectly crispy and juicy. The seasoning is just right - not too salty, with just the right amount of herbs and spices. The service is friendly and attentive, and the casual, laidback atmosphere is perfect for a quick lunch or casual dinner. Prices are reasonable, with most entrees in the $10-$15 range Yes and don’t forget to try their home made puddings! My favourite is their banana pudding. I highly recommend giving it a try - your taste buds will thank you!

This was my first time trying this place. I didn’t have much expectations, thinking it would be something similar to Texas chicken and burgers. But oh boy, I was so wrong! This place is out of this world! The spice level options were my biggest surprise! I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed every single item. I ordered each of everything on their menu! My favorite was the slappin fries bowl. I wish they had a location in the Bronx! The only thing I thought could be better was the ordering process. You have to order at the kiosk, and there was just 1. They could have at least 3 to manage the long lines. Other than that, the food came out very fast. Would definitely be back!

Got it Grub hubbed to the house. . Good size portions. Great sandwiches, sauce and the chicken bowl was real good. Fries are average.

Real reviewer here. Worth checking it out. Simple concept place with small halal menu and underwhelming looks, but I had the Mac bowl and it was actually really good. Liked the fries under it being completely coated in spice powder and gave lots of flavor with the different items inside. Id come again for this, This was a solid enough item for me to return.

Order on a wall hung tablet, relax enjoy the music, hot crispy juicy chicken with fries order ready pretty quickly. Plenty of seating and parking outside. Good quick bite

I got the medium spice and lemon pepper sliders. The Lemon pepper was seasoned really well and tasted amazing while the medium spice slider didn’t have any flavor whats so ever. You could only taste the slaw, sauce and pickles. I’d say if you want a kick get the hot. For the chicken it self, it’s juicy and tender. The fries are average even though they are seasoned. If I was around the area I would get it again. It ain’t no Dave’s chicken. 7/10

Honestly this place has some great chicken- tender and juicy. Not dry at all. The Medium level has a good flavor with little to no heat. The Hot has a kick to it but leaves your teeth and roof of your mouth powdery with spices. I prefer the sliders with the coleslaw, pickles and sauce. The fries are nothing special and what save them is the powder they use on top. There isn't a parking lot so park in the front on the street.

We had the sliders, the bowl and a slider/tender combo. The spicy level "Slappin'" was too hot for me, it was not enjoyable. The guy behind the counter did warn us about this! We had to get the "Mild" level for our kid. I feel like the level in between "Hot" would've been perfect for me. The bowl was pretty good too but wasn't amazing. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nothing special. At the time of our visit, there weren't too many people so the limited seating was fine for us. Not sure about busy hours though. UPDATE: We went back and tried the medium and it was perfect!

I watched the instagram videos & the food looked awesome. But we were pretty disappointed in it all. We dined in. The sliders were good, we got them medium heat. (Medium is not spicy at all) The fries were good w/ the sauce. The chicken fingers we got with lemon pepper. The lemon pepper seasoning tasted good, but the fingers were so ridiculously hot that it burned your mouth (temperature wise). They were also kind of fatty and thick. It did not come with the ranch like they show in the video. So u probably have to ask for it. We also tried the Mac & cheese bowl. The mac & cheese itself was good, but there’s just huge chunks of fatty chicken and fries and you can’t really mix it. It just didn’t tase good together the way it’s presented. Probably would have tasted better if the pieces of chicken & fries were smaller/diced mixed in. The Oreo pudding was ok. It tasted like a warm Oreo McFlurry. We probably won’t be back, the place gave us instant stomachs. I do have to say the service with the girl at the front desk. She was super nice and friendly!

Ordered 2 slider meal got 1 slider and one one piece of bread. Upgraded to cheese fries and no cheese at all. Otherwise food is good tho

Service was good, plenty of space to sit and enjoy the food at the location and the passion fruit lemonade was GREAT But personally it's a No... Messy presentation, very messy to eat. Fries weren't "seasoned" as described it was just powdered seasoning no salt. The food is overpriced which I knew going in and was willing to pay but for the outcome not worth it in my opinion. I'm a little bummed because I had high expectations. It feels like something that would be good as "munchies" but sober it's very much a No.

Awful. Stay away. Threw out my food. The coating is gross, can’t place it. Tasted like old oil, and sandy, really horrible. The chicken without the skin and breading had this overpowering smoky and horrible taste. Can’t describe how bad it was, and I love fried chicken.

I never leave reviews on places. But this place was genuinely the worst food I have had in a VERY long time. Chicken and fries had literally zero taste. Not only that but the texture made me and my family want to throw up. The food was so damn bad, that my dog wouldn’t even eat it, yes a dog that eats its own shit. It was like they threw it in a microwave, after it was sitting in a freezer for 8 months. I ordered Cajun fries but they literally just had pepper on it. I have heard great things about this place, and maybe I just went on an off day. However there’s not a change in hell I ever go back. Highly advise to stay away.

Order was received incorrectly, poor customer service from the woman who handled the phones. Instead of making it right and sending a delivery driver or staff member after the order was clearly marked, they opted to ask to drive back 25 minutes each way to get the order remade or deal with a 3rd party for a refund.
