1st time customer and will be returning! My wife and I started with the escargot($16) and loved it. I ordered 2 small plates with BBQ duck($16) and short rib($17). Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the large plate with tuna($45/MKT). We sat next to a fish tank. Kind of neat watching the unique fish swim around right next to us. Our waitress was wonderful, and checked on us a reasonable amount without being overbearing. We also ordered desserts to go choosing the Caramel banana cheesecake. Very good and interesting take on it as it was served like an egg roll cut in half diagonally. It had tasty candied pecans on top as well. We will absolutely return and try other things on the menu. Overall a very nice 3 course dinner for 2 was $150 and was worth the price. That also included two cocktails that were $16 each.
Great discovery! We have to come back. Outstanding service. The crab and artichoke appetizer was delicious. The bouillabaisse was perfect. Great wine options.
This is my new favorite weekend spot. I have been a few times now, and I always sit at the bar. The food is wonderful! I always start with a crab bisque, and last time for my entree I had the salmon curry! I was nervous to try this one, but 10 out of 10! The drinks for the bar are top notch, and I love that the bartenders are so friendly.
Food was really great for me. Fresh and quick. I was arrived on open time. Just only annoying beside table really loud. I am almost deaf.
The food was fantastic. It was the best calamari appetizer we have ever had. The food came out surprisingly fast and was delicious. The fillet was thick and juicy and properly cooked. The lamb chops were grilled and had great flavor, and my scallops were also perfectly done with the noodles being exceptional as well.
Such a great experience! We had a reservation so no wait when we arrived, and were quickly greeted by our server. He was knowledgeable about wine choices and helpful when making decisions about entries. For appetizers, I had the oysters and my partner had the Mac and cheese. Both were amazing. We had the halibut (pictured) and the filet mignon. I gave the halibut a 10/10, tasty fish, crisp and fresh asparagus, and the most savory and delicious grain with them. With the filet, the flavor was good, just the potatoes were slightly undercooked for our taste. I also had the lavender haze cocktail and it was phenomenal as well, all flavors mixing perfectly. In all an amazing experience with delicious food and quality service. 10/10, would absolutely return!
First time there. Visited for a quiet birthday dinner. Great food.
This is always one of my favorite places to eat. They go above and beyond for celebrations, and service is always excellent. The food is amazing and beautifully prepared.
Blue water has become my new favorite restaurant for date night. The food is great as always and the servers are always nice, attentive and helpful! I always get the pork chop and the calamari and it always taste better each time!
We had a wonderful first visit at Blue Water. The food was delicious and Lindsey served us well!
Service and food were excellent! Matt is a very knowledgeable and skilled server, and every bite was delicious. Looking forward to our next visit!
We ate the Filet and it was perfectly prepared. The demi-glace sauce was out of this world amazing! The mushrooms and all of the sides were so delicious. Thomas, our waiter was so very nice and a pleasure to be around! We highly highly recommend Blue Water Grill and ask for Thomas!
Delicious and a must see while in the area. Exceptional food and service. I visit every time I'm at the High Point Furniture Market.
The food was excellent and prepared just right. The staff was helpful, and we would definitely recommend!
I love it here. I always sit at the bar most times . Drinks are good & the food is tasty.
The food was delicious service was great the atmosphere is quaint and quiet and classy loved it. The Fig bourbon was delicious
I visit Blue Water Grille regularly and the service and food is top notch! I enjoy sitting at the bar with friends and having martinis and a meal when we get together, and on date night my husband and I enjoy dining in the main dining area. Tonight I ordered the salmon with red curry sauce and it was absolutely delicious. The “crust” of the salmon was perfectly roasted and paired so well with the curry sauce. Love this place and I enjoy trying new items when they have them!
Had such a delicious dinner tonight and excellent service!! I had the tuna and it was amazing!!
Very nice place. Drinks, food and service was great. We will put this on our list of places to return to.
This place is so good I’m here at least once a week!
I had a wedge salad with heirloom tomatoes 🍅 that had a marinade. The crabcake was small but good. Our waitress was very attentive, engaging, and friendly. My husband had shrimp and grits that needed a tad more grits. The rue was very tasty.
My wife and I love the food and ambience at this restaurant. We had dinner for our birthday and the food was outstanding. The food was served really quick as well as the drinks we ordered. Special thanks to the bartender who made us delicious cocktails and to the nice employees working there.
We had a great first experience at this restaurant. I had the salmon full entree, and it was delicious. Everyone's food seemed well prepared and attractively presented. The service was excellent. We will be back.
Outstanding meal, excellent service, wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend visiting.
Early evening visit with friends for small plates and drinks. Couldn't have been better! Highlights included the Baked Brie and Dirty Blue martini. Friendly, prompt service, excellent food, comfortable atmosphere. What's not to like!? Recommended.
Absolutely the best meal in years! The Halibut was tender and delicious, nested on a bed of polenta with asparagus spears, and crab on top. My spouse had the scallops which were also very good. And finished off with Key Lime pie. Oh my. All so tasty! Enjoy
This place hits all the boxes. Wonderful ambiance, food and staff! We had the appetizers of shrimp cocktail and edamame. They were great! Huge shrimp and the most unique flavor to the edamame. Caesar salad was best I've ever had. They had yummy little white anchovies. Best part was our server Freya! So helpful and friendly. When we left we all hugged her because she really topped off the entire dining experience. Love her!
Excellent food with quality ingredients. Our server was kind and attentive but not intrusive. Had the brie app and scallop meal. I've been generally critical of the seafood in NC but not at the Blue Water Grille. We also love their bread and the BW? Shrimp app. Lots of good choices available. We come here as a treat.
Went here for my Anniversary. I can't make a single complaint. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable. The food was amazing. I had a tomahawk pork chop, and it was amazing. My wife had the halibut, and it was wonderful. It was just delicious food. One of the best meals I have ever rated .
Awesome food & service. You can tell they make everything in-house and even on a busy Friday night, my food came out hot and perfectly cooked. I was passing through town and was pleasantly surprised with how great everything was. I will definitely come back
Such wonderful staff and great food. Our waitress was the sweetest and very quick with service. The food had such good flavor, and my boyfriend and I got the blueberry lemondrop drink which was delicious. Such a beautiful space too. A nice romantic date night spot. Highly recommend making a reservation though because it is a fairly small space that fills up rather quickly. Would definitely recommend and will be going there again.
A friend had been telling me to go eat at Blue Water Grill for some time. I always said that I would go. Now I wish that I would have gone sooner. The food, service, and atmosphere were top-notch. I definitely will be going there again.
Absolutely phenomenal. This is the second time we have celebrated our wedding anniversary here, and the experience is fantastic every time. Highly recommend the tomahawk pork chop and halibut for entrees, but everything here is good. Drinks are fabulous as well and very reasonably priced.
Came in July 7th for my birthday, the filet was cooked perfect but more so than the food. I must say the bar tender was very kind and provided great service even addressing me by my name. I had a couple shots, beer and a steak and I was out the door. The service was great. Atmosphere was very nice too, but kudos to the bar tender that makes an effort to get to know her customers, made me feel like I've been there before and very welcoming.
Food was incredible. Best bites I’ve ever had in the Triad. Worth every penny. The drinks were made well, easy to drink and hard to walk! We had a great time
I had the shrimp and grits - so good. Can't wait to go back. Shout out to Tom for the amazing service!
A lovely quiet time together. We're from Maryland and we didn't expect to stumble upon a nice seafood restaurant. Very surprised to find it open at a decent dinner hour in this town. It's very intimate and date-worthy. The waitress was superb and very personable.
Alright, listen up y'all. Just got back from a trip up to High Point, North Carolina, and being a fella from Charleston, South Carolina, you know my bar for seafood is set pretty darn high. We're talking fresh catches, Lowcountry boils, the whole shebang. So, when someone suggested Blue Water Grill, I was a little skeptical, I ain't gonna lie. Being a bit inland, you just never know. But let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. Walking in, the place had a good vibe – not too stuffy, not too casual, just a comfortable, welcoming feel. The menu had a decent selection, and while it wasn't exactly what I'd find down on Shem Creek, they had some interesting choices. I ended up going with the Halibut, and honestly, it was cooked perfectly. Flaky, moist, and seasoned just right. You could tell they weren't skimping on the quality of the fish. Now, I'm not saying it's going to replace my favorite spot back home for a plate of shrimp and grits, but for High Point, Blue Water Grill is doing it right. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable. Honestly, if you're in the area and craving some seafood, don't hesitate to check this place out. It's a solid option, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I walked out feeling satisfied, and that's saying something coming from a Charleston boy who knows his way around a seafood platter. Give 'em a shot, you might just be surprised like I was.
Wonderful experience! The Hemingway martini was excellent, and I received fantastic advice from the fabulous Freya and the halibut was like nothing I've ever had. My husband had the NY strip and he didn't speak until he was full! Great place, wonderful service and amazing food!
Excellent experience all around. We sat at the bar and had a couple of shareable plates. The mac&cheese was more of a creamy pasta with sausage and shrimp. It was great. The braised short rib was yummy, but the vegetables and broth that came with it could have been a stand-alone dish. They were the star. The wine was great. The bartenders were on point, and we sat beside a couple we knew. It was a wonderful evening. We couldn't have asked for a better night.
Service here is very friendly but not necessarily the most attentive. Had to ask for water refills and salt. My son enjoyed his shrimp and grits. I got the scallops and the scallops were cooked perfectly. However, the dish definitely could have had more flavor and it needed salt. My Old Fashioned was great. The ambiance could be excellent here but we were sat near what turned into a very loud birthday party that screeched every time a new lady arrived, which made it extremely hard to carry on a conversation. We passed on dessert after the last screech fest. I’m all about having fun but if you’re going to act like you’re in a sports bar, hold your event there, or match the atmosphere and be respectful of other patrons. Someone working at the restaurant really should have said something.
The ambiance is beautiful. The staff is nice. The food portions are small. The food was okay. The spinach was salty and grilled salmon was burned/overcooked. The char was actually very prevalent and it messed up the dish. The presentation was nice.
Nice ambiance, Dinned in got the ahi tuna & crab cake appetizer ordered mahi-mahi and spouse ordered lamb chops. Overall it was okay, felt the mahi-mahi was over salted and over cooked. The lamb chops were " literally all right " wasn't bad but not memorable. If you’re getting drinks I recommend the cucumber smash - served with Hendricks, elderflower Cucumber & squeezed citrus!
1 star less tonight despite the awesome service and great food. Freya was amazing and took care of us. Let's go into why I deducted a single star from great food and service. First, in the Triad area, there are no nice local restaurants open on Monday. Secondly, we were celebrating a milestone in life and walked in at 5:45 (they open at 5:30). Only 1 table had anyone sitting at it and we were told they only had a table in the bar. What? Unbelievable. I asked what options there were for the dining room that was empty. I was told we could sit at a table but needed to be done by 7. Apparently they are reservations recommended but it says that nowhere on the site or reviews. We rushed through ordering and made it out by 6:25 so the service was quick which is amazing for a nice restaurant. Guess what...the place had 2 tables full. I recommend either reservations or wait for another night. Maybe go to the sister restaurant Magnolia Blue on another night.
A lovely atmosphere and friendly service service. I would rate higher but the portion size for the grits dishes was almost offense to the near 30 dollar price
The food was delicious and the ambience was very inviting. I sat at the bar because there were no tables available, the customer service at the bar was just as good as if I had my own table.
We had our anniversary dinner there. The food was a bit disappointing. The expensive halibut that we ordered was very salty, and I am a person who likes salt. There was nothing served with it. The calamari consisted of round pieces of the meat and was ok; not wonderful. Disappointing in all. The noise level was high. Our server, however, was excellent and very attentive.
Overall not what I expected. Went with three other people, two of which ordered the same dish (Halibut). Others were happy with their dish, but mine was very overcooked. The fish was extremely dry and the portion was much less than others. Drinks were strong, but unimpressive. Heavy pour, but lacked flavor (especially for an old fashioned). Service was great though! Might give it another shot if I'm ever in town.
Very pricey and the food isn't worth the price. Longhorn steaks are seasoned much better. The shrimp and grits were plated fancy but lacked the flavor. I will not dine there again. We wasted $145 on two meals. On the other hand, our waitress was great. Thumbs up to her
We came in from out of town and made a reservation here based on reviews. The service was great and the only reason it has any stars to be honest. Appetizer was ok salad was good. I ordered the filet mid rare the steak was rare and the potatoes undercooked. I was not the only one because the guy next to be sent his back. That not even the reason for this review. The real reason is my wife ordered scallops. The sear did look very good on them and I'm guess by the way my wife got sick before we even made it back to the room and was violently ill all night and so far still this morning that they were undercooked as well and she has food poisoning. I will most likely have to take her to the hospital if things don't turn around real soon. I won't be back. The chef obviously needs a temp refresher.
