Visited Monday July 8th. I didn’t get the name of the lady working here this morning but she was fabulous. So friendly and energetic, quick with a coffee refill and made us feel welcome.
Went there a while back and it was the experience I had when I was a kid. So nostalgic and can't describe how amazing the food was. But am wondering tho, are the still selling the A&W mugs here and the gallon size root beer?
Ignore the bad reviews! This place was awesome! I went to this location to redeem my free birthday root beer float. I didn't realize that it was a dual restaurant (A&W and Long John Silvers, and I stared at the joint menu indecisively. When I mentioned that I hadn't eaten at an A&W in a while, the cashier Faleshia informed me that that side was shut down. However, she said that I would be able to get the root beer float. I decided to get the Super Sampler (fish, chicken, popcorn shrimp, butterfly shrimp, hush puppies, fries, and coleslaw) and have the float as my drink. While she inputted my order, I noticed the daily $1 special (a lobster and crab cake) and added it to my order. My food was out promptly, was hot/cold as applicable, and tasted delicious. The crab cake was perfectly seasoned; I took my time savoring each bite. The restaurant was clean and well lit with a nostalgic atmosphere, complete with older music that had me tapping my foot to the beat. The staff members were polite and greeted me warmly; I explained that I was taking pictures for a Google Guide review. They invited me back to visit this location again; I plan to take them up on their invitation. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience!

Service a bit slow, but food was great.
Please read update at the bottom The intercom doesn’t work so you have to place your order at the window and then wait for your food to be made. This has been a issue for months. When you file a complaint no one gets back with you. Also the phone number leads you right to a voicemail that say goodbye and hangs up. This place needs a whole new attitude and look. Trash service and the building is not updated. The employee have 10 plus piercings in their face at the drive thru. I’m going to try to call the health department and food department. I want this place renovated with some new employees that take their job seriously. Update 3/25/2025 This place has really improved their service and their intercom is upgraded. I have went numerous times since this review and haven’t had a problem.

After 3 rounds of rock paper scissors. I won and came here. Wanted something fried. The food was good. Place needed a lil cleaning but overall it was ok. #Donmarquise #approved
This place was pretty run down and needed some serious TLC. The host was on curtious and friendly. Fortunately, I got my meal to go, but the fries were obviously under the warming lamp for a while. Burger was good, and the rootbeer float hit the spot.

Today my husband, and I went to the drive thru, and we didn't get no Cántame for our food. An that is why I give it two stars.
The lady at the window mixed up my order then was quite rude and refused to admit she made a mistake tho another worker was like we can fix that. The root beer was super good but honestly that lady being as rude as she was about mixing up what I ordered I wouldn't go back.
The only positive about this place was Clarence. He had a great attitude in a negative atmosphere. The manger, where she started off somewhat nice did not end that way. You could hear her yelling at the staff the rest of our visit. That is when the shake machine wasn't making such a loud noise you couldn't enjoy your lunch. The food was sub par. And not all fresh. There was no one here so it should have been fresh. Highly disappointed in our visit. Save for Clarence. He was great.

The little old ladies working seemed to be so confused. On offer me my drink twice, when I already had it. The one taking ordered, had just taken my order, the stated she didn't have my order. They seemed to be so confused on what they were doing. I definitely won't be going there again.

Just not good. Dirty dingy and run down. Staff was friendly though. The spider webs in the windows above the doors should tell you everything. Pretty gross.
Idk where to start the A3 bacon burger nasty nasty the fries taste like grease they need to clean the grease cause the same grease that fries the fish Fry's everything. I used to love A&W since my from the north. Today I came in and ordered my food. The lady in blue at the front counter got mad cause I didn’t order my food how it’s set up in her computer. I order a A5 and A6.. with chili cheese fry’s. She assumed I wanted a regular drink when I wanted root beer floats. She said well you should of ordered it the right way cause now I gotta redo it all.. I felt like I was an inconvenience to stop here. Then I told her I didn’t want onions on my hot dog and she said it didn’t come with onions.. guess what IT CAME with onions !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 0 stars!!!!!! Needs new management
To say we were extremely disappointed is an understatement. We were craving AW and Long John Silver since we hadn’t had it in like 7yrs. The cashier was extremely rude getting mad for no reason, and then we got out order which we stated it was dine in and she bagged it to go. Once we were checking our food, we saw it was wrong so I went to let them know if they can redo it as I didn’t want sauce on the rice bowl. She was not happy about that. Never again are we eating here.
I came through the drive through and the lady spoke to me as if I popped up at her house and she didn’t want me there. I drove off. I understand people have bad days but it wasn’t a long line for your attitude to be that dude. Please don’t fire her but she should definitely get a coaching for better customer service
The Service/ Customer Service is the worst I have ever ever experienced. Extremely rude and impatient cashier at the window. Tried calling to speak to the manager, He was extremely short and just as rude. This was the worst experience. I didn’t expect the process or ordering to become derailed while trying to figure out the menu and order. I’m extremely embarrassed to share cultural and aesthetic similarities with these staff members. This is sad. Check out all the reviews in here and Yelp. I contacted corporate and left a complaint. They may have to shut this location down or do an entire staff overhaul or something it this is common practice. This is the only one in Houston (AW Restaurant). The Cashiers/ Managers… I’m confused. And why?!!!!? Unprovoked and unexpected abrupt and rude responses and not able to even place an order. And I’m sure someone better not even thing about asking questions or substitutions… If THEY EVER HAD AN “Undercover Boss Situation” this location would be shut down immediately. I don’t want or need any call or gift card or any “what can we do to make this right”… The cooperate manager or franchisee owner needs to address this… Or better yet- the owner needs to just go to the drive through and place an order. Just order from your own location and let the experience unfold from there.
I wasn’t able to even place an order without the lady in the to-go window started being extremely rude. At around 2:35pm, my uncle and I went to try out A&W, when we pulled up to the window, you can already tell by her face (I believe her name was Marie, an older lady) she was not having a good day. I greeted her and asked if I could order 2 A1’s one combo and one just the sandwich. She then corrected me in a rude manner saying then I don’t want two A1’s then proceeded to give me my total when I was not done ordering. I informed her that I would like to order more and she gave an attitude back AGAIN. Then my uncle asked her why she has an attitude and she snapped back saying: “I am not your server, he is.” Talking about me. Is it because I’m a darker skin? One can come up with endless scenarios based on what she meant by saying that. Needless to say, we did not end up trying this place at all. Couldn’t even place an order without the lady being racist and rude. I have never encountered anyone this rude at a fast food place or restaurant in my life.

Can you get rid of these old stuff and long john silvers because i hate them i dont want to see long john silvers and these old stuff when i get closer to it and what i tell you to do means you have to do it this restaurant still looks like a 20th century restaurant and i dont want good restaurants with bad restaurants so please remove these
