Frequently asked questions about Bluestone Lane
Bluestone Lane Houston Reviews
Excellent drinks, food was great and the staff were friendly! Everything ordered at our table was great, came quickly and tasted amazing. Extra stars would be given for the coffees and the bread on the sandwich (the turkey club sandwich is incredible)!! It's cute and has lots of room/tables inside plus a patio.
Food and coffee was great, and such a cozy little cafe! Colton was great and made the experience even better, will definitely be coming back.
Very friendly staff, food came out amazing and the atmosphere is very cozy and calm. Very good strawberry matcha and sandwiches
They were busy!! But soooo sweet and attentive! Brooke makes the BEST lattes!
Colton provided perfect service. he was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and very personable. I’ll definitely be returning!
the beet latte was phenomenal and the food was great. staff was very friendly, thanks to Brooke for her help with my questions about the menu.
Just had to come here after visiting the location off Kirby. Can’t get enough of that truffle mushroom grilled cheese! Great people here! Cozy vibes.
Building is beautiful - lots of staff on which was great to see. Went with with pancakes from the pictures and they were bomb.com
Lattes + mugs are critical to mine and your happiness success rate. Oat milk vanilla latte was perfectly sweetened without any suggestion of amount. 12oz with fluffy frothy steamed oat milk. If I wasn’t trying to watch my weight I’d order 3. Staff was absolutely smiling and delightful. Everything in here is pretty.
the spice chicken wrap was really good! the potato wedges were delicious and well seasoned :) i had a lot of fun!
I love this place so much! I wish they had one in Katy. I’ve gone twice. First time I ordered the cold flat white and it’s the BEST DAMN COFFEE I’VE EVER HAD!! OMG. And today I went and had the Aussie Iced Latte, ají verde pulled chicken sandwich and chocolate croissant and it was all very delicious! 1/2 priced pastries after 2 pm 🤗
We’ve been coming here for a bit now and really enjoy the food and drinks. The coffee is always well made and tasty and the chile soft scramble is soooo good. Have not had a bad experience so far, and love that it has some healthier options
Adorable place with delicious coffee & pastries! I highly recommend downloading the app because it has a ton of helpful features: a loyalty program, ordering for pickup, and nutritional information. I appreciate that it tells you the calories in each of their menu items, and for the smoothies it even has information about how much protein is in each smoothie. The staff is super friendly & the environment is so cute. Bluestone Lane is a welcome addition to Houston Heights!
Bluestone is the perfect spot for a weekend breakfast/lunch! Upbeat, efficient service & delicious healthy food. Highly recommend the Beet & Golden latte for the caffeine averse.
Nicole was so cool! We will return. She was so welcoming to our dogs.
Great atmosphere, service and food. Lots of creative, healthy breakfast options that leave you feeling better for having eaten there. If you’re looking for delicious, healthy food, this is a good spot. I got the breakfast bowl, full of greens, farro, avocado and a poached egg…super tasty!
This place did not disappoint! It has such a cute atmosphere and design! The food looks amazing and is also delicious. My waitress (Gracie) did a great job making sure that I had everything I needed and was very patient and sweet with everything going on and how busy they were. It may be a little pricey, but worth it to treat yourself!
Colton, our waiter was knowledgeable, funny, attentive and just the best! Highly recommend the Truffle mushroom sandwich, I added fresh tomatoes. I ordered the wedges and had a side of garlic aoli. Lovely outside area.
Nice cafe, with great menu and excellent coffee. My athlete burrito was excellent but the guy sitting next to me ordered the Brekkie plate and I was instantly jealous! I can’t wait to come back and try it. Also overheard a man with a heavy Italian accent say “this is the best espresso I’ve had since I was at home” so definitely going to order it next time too!
We came in with 6 and were seated quickly. The team was extremely welcoming and gave us good recommendations. Food was awesome and clean. We will be back
How I long to savor the flavors of the Heights again, especially during lunch or brunch. My vegan gluten-free waffle with vegan whip, strawberries, blueberries, and smoked salmon with honey drizzle was a taste of pure delight. Lauren was our waitress and she treated us great. #heaven #foodie #heightshouston
Beautiful, airy cafe! Very modern and clean. I had the vanilla latte which was very good, not too sweet! The staff was SO friendly! As soon as you walked in multiple people from the staff said hello. I could not say enough great things about the service! I was there for a long time working on my computer and they never made me feel like I had to leave. I also the burger and potato wedges were phenomenal. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had.
I came across this new cafe on Instagram. I love a good coffee shop so I had to come try it out. The weather was nice so I was able to sit outside. They offer full service outside and inside. I only ordered coffee, but they offer great food options. I would come back to try a delicious meal!
Breakfast was amazingly delicious! I have to admit, It’s been a while since my last visit here, though I am so grateful I chose to visit again this morning. I thoroughly enjoyed the Avocado Smash and complimented it, was a refreshing new coffee drink, the Coconut Expresso Cloud. It was delicious, nutritious, and energizing. What a great start to my day! I highly recommend the Bluestone Lane in the Heights.
Visiting here was such a wonderful experience. The patio is adorable and the decor inside is very aesthetic and calming. I was especially excited to see progressive Pride flags displayed alongside the Australian flags. The food is delicious and fresh. I highly recommend trying the pancakes! The staff is also so kind and helpful. I will 100% be back for more!
This place is a hit consistently, dine in or take out. Anything we’ve ordered and it’s been delicious , fresh. Ivie is remarkable and elevates the experience even more. Let this place transport you, fill your belly and connect with friendly faces. Enjoy!
I visited again and truly enjoyed the experience. Yasmin greeted me with a smile and was a pleasure to communicate with. She explained the pastry variety which looked delicious, but I had to pass on today. My drink was exceptional from first sip to the last drop. Quiet and calm ambiance and spacious. It was also great to meet a local rescue dog, Coby, and his owner.
Today we came to bluestone lane hoping to find a place to study. We didn’t realize it was a sit down restaurant but Colton made sure we were set up in a space where we could get work done. The service was amazing and Colton was so easy to talk to. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!!
I had a great experience! I came for convenience but it was great! They have a great outdoor patio that’s pet friendly! I didn’t have to ask for a bowl for my pup and I didn’t have to use my own! They brought him ice water to cool him down! the coffees were great! It was definitely one of the best chai concentrates I’ve ever had. I also got the banana bread and it was delicious! It’s gluten free so I’ll definitely be coming back for it! And just commenting to the people complaining about the service being slow, I’ve noticed all the servers are very young and most likely don’t have a lot of experience with a fast paced environment like this. They seem to be trying their best considering every time I’ve come it seems to ALWAYS be busy! I’ve come in a few times now and it’s always large groups of people who come in so give them time! If you’re in a huge rush I’d go somewhere else or place an order online beforehand! I’ve placed 2 online orders now and they’ve been ready at the exact predicted time on the receipt!
Ahhmazing! This new restaurant has it's grand opening tomorrow (hours are 7am-5pm), I came for the soft opening and met with the owners. Everyone is incredibly kind. Now, about the place: Restaurant style- Australian Coffee, Cafe, Healthy options with fresh ingredients. Coffee- Incredible flavor, texture, and quality. The baristas were super kind when I was indecisive about what I wanted. The staff in general were good about this. I had a classic latte and espresso just for baseline understanding of their coffee. Top notch latte art for the esthetic as well. They make their vanilla with Madagascar vanilla in-house. The espresso had a nice fruited undertone. I drank it cold because I take too long to take photos but it didn't make it any less flavorful. I'll definitely drink it hot next time, I swear. Ha. The staff- Everyone is so sweet! There are a lot of people working here so there is always someone available to help out. It was pretty busy when I came too just for reference. The general manager was so helpful with the menu and knowledgeable about each item. The wait staff was always willing and ready to help as well. The backstory- The owners were ther3 and were an absolute joy to be around. The original location opened up in New York and they now have over 50 locations in the US. This is the first location in Houston and they have more on the way within the next year. The food- Mmm so fresh! They carry some of the best pastries in town as well. The pancakes were not just gorgeous but so flavorful. They have a delightful lemon curd on top with fresh fruit and edible flowers. I also got the Athletes wrap which I had later on. Just perfect, nice and balanced. Just what I needed after a long workout. Everything was so beautifully plated and crafted. This restaurant is an instant favorite and I look forward to their presence in Houston. I will definitely be back to test out more or their menu and drink options.
Food is undeniably amazing here. All bluestone lanes never fail to impress. Had the big brekkie and loved it. Service is great as well too
This place got soo much pleasant morning vibe.I loved their coffee and breakfast options. It is definitely a must visit places of Houston downtown area. Loved the ambience and they got plenty of seating arrangement in and out.And staff are very helpful in choosing the best coffee and food to eat..totally made my Sunday morning awesome
Such a cute place!! Staff is so sweet- I loved my server Yasmin!! The food is soooo goood and not too expensive!! I loveeee this placeee it’s so great to go with friends for bunch.
Bluestone Lane is an Australian-inspired coffee shop and café. Ever since they opened up in the Heights, it has become my go-to spot. The convenience of a private parking lot is a plus, but it does fill up quickly. Thankfully, street parking on Yale Street is usually available. The ambiance is welcoming, with plenty of tables inside and a large outdoor patio. Even when it gets busy, I’ve never had to wait long for a table. [SMOOTHIES] +Protein Mocha Smoothie (vanilla protein powder, cold brew coffee, blended with cocoa, cinnamon, almond milk, almond butter, and banana) for $10 - This is off their menu, but you can still order it in person! Weirdly, it still shows up on their online menu. Other locations of Bluestone Lane do not have this smoothie! I love this smoothie. - 5/5 [BREAKFAST] +Soft Chili Scramble with Avocado (chili shallot-folded eggs and avocado with sesame seeds topped with chili oil) for $15 - This is a small breakfast plate if you just want a small bite. I typically order this every time I go! - 5/5 While these are my go-to items, everything else on the menu is fantastic. Bluestone Lane isn’t a fancy restaurant, but it prides itself on fresh ingredients and excellent coffee. The service is always great, making it an ideal spot for a quick meal or a relaxed brunch. Plus, it’s kid-friendly; I often bring my baby along, stroller and all, without any issues. I would highly recommend checking them out!
Food was amazing! They have gluten free options as well! Karina and Cole provided amazing service and were so friendly! We are definitely coming back!
Had the banana bread which was great. The fruit toppings tasted super fresh. Not sure what the side item was. Didn't really have a distinct flavor. Also had the banana protein smoothie and that was great too.
Carolina and Cole gave us great service! The food came out quickly and was delicious. We will be back for sure.
A hidden gem. One of the best cappuccinos I had in town and the food is great, tasteful and plenty to choose from. This place would’ve been packed if some ‘social influencers’ would publish about it. Also, great atmosphere and location.
We enjoyed our visit. Nicole was helpful in seating us outdoors as we requested. The staff also made sure to make the meals catered to our dietary restrictions. 😊
Food was great. Came here to get breakfast with my bestfriend and the atmosphere was great. Karina was great her energy was super welcoming and attentive. Will definitely come here again. I ordered the Bacon egg and cheese croissant and she got the soft chili scramble with avocado. Their Matcha Latte was the best!
Bluestone Cafe exceeded all our expectations 🤍 The food was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. We ordered the Truffle Mushroom Grilled Cheese with chicken breast — ohh you have to try this, so yummy! The Green Goddess Bowl salad was amazing, and their tomato soup is on another level — truly baked with love. The wedges were super well made, crunchy, and so delicious — very tasty! We also enjoyed a hot latte, which was perfect. We sat outside since the weather was beautiful, and the outdoor seating is very nice and relaxing. Great customer service and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend for breakfast and brunch! ☕🥪✨
Very busy for this particular Sunday but our servers made sure we got a table in quickly. Everyone was super friendly and the food was SOO good! the wedges are to die for ! Nicole made me feel at home and didn’t shy away from answering any questions i had about the menu :) coming back soon !
Came in for a Bridal brunch, our waitress and the whole team were so helpful and fast. They were patient when we needed more time and helped us choose items based on our preference. The atmosphere was great and the food was awesome. I didn't expect to be full but I was and very satisfied with everything ordered.
My girlfriend and I came here to relax and enjoy some great food and beverages. We were far from disappointed. For drinks, we had the strawberry flavored orange juice mimosa and the pumpkin spiced latte. Both drinks were beautifully balanced not too sweet and not too bitter and exactly what we expected. For food we ordered the B.L.A.T.E. and bacon egg and cheese croissant sandwiches and we finished with the blueberry pancakes. Fantastic! The wedges that came with the sandwich were crispy with a fluffy inside and they met our standards for sure. The blueberry pancakes were fluffy and the blueberry compote paired with them great. We wouldn’t have been able to make all of these choices if it wasn’t for the strong suggestions that Colton, our server gave us. He recommended everything and we’re so grateful he could be so much help! Dessaray was also a big help and provided lovely service as well. The young lady with the arm sling was also very hospitable! We will be back thank you Colton for such a stand out dining experience!! This brunch was much needed to recover from this tough week. Thanks again!
Vanessa, greeted me and help me with my breakfast selection. Atmosphere of this place is very relaxing and it’s a family, friendly location plenty of parking and they have an outdoor patio as well. This was my first visit and I sat inside cause I had to work on a few things on my phone. I had the soft chili scramble with avocado, which was suggested to me by Vanessa and I must say that it was a great choice. And of course, I had my warm cup of milk. Love the vibe..
This is MY go to spot to order breakfast/lunch takeout, and a place to stop in for a girly afternoon bite. They are so thoughtful, and helpful plus healthy options. The manager David took care of me when I had a mix up for pickup and I can’t be more appreciative. Not to mention the waiter Jacob always remembers me and it just makes it cozy and enjoyable.
We had the privilege of hosting a bridal shower in the event room upstairs. What a fantastic space here in Houston to host an event! The room was private and very spacious. It was already tastefully decorated where you could just leave it as-is, but we chose to add some flowers and small decorations to make it bridal shower ready. From the initial contact with Vanessa to the actual event, it was such an effortless process- I can’t praise Vanessa more highly! All of the guests were so impressed with the service not only by Vanessa but the team of staff- they were attentive, yet not intrusive and very helpful in whatever way we needed. The food and drinks were delicious, ordering was made so simple with a QR code (we didn’t have to go downstairs and order) and everyone commented on just how amazing the bridal shower was. I’m already looking forward to hosting another event here!
I’m not sure when the reviewers that had a bad experience came but our experience was great! Outdoor seating is lovely, plenty of parking but also easily accessible if you’re walking through the Heights. Dog friendly outside and they brought a complementary “pup cup” with whipped cream and a very clean water bowl. We ordered through a waiter and not the app and the service was great! Quick and friendly. Presentation was GORGEOUS and food was really yummy. My favorite was the avocado smash toast we got on the Brekkie Board. The house made granola was great as well, would buy that on its own. The Melbourne iced tea was very refreshing as well. Don’t be turned away by the rating because that’s what took us so long to try this place but we were very pleasantly surprised!
The ancient chicken grain bowl is the perfect portion size. Very nutritious, healthy and delicious! The crispy potatoe wedges are a must try! It comes with ketchup and a special creamy sweat chili sauce on the side. Super addicting. The cold brew coffee is also a must try! Its puts a twist to regular cold coffee, but in a surprisingly refreshing way. The coffee is super smooth not bitter at all. I've never had a coffee this smooth. The lemonade here is perfect. Not super sweet, or acidic it was a perfect balance. This lemonade is one of the best lemonades I have had! The almond croissant was bigger than I expected. The banana bread was amazing! Not too sweet and the texture was moist and it melts in your mouth. Plus Gluten free! It goes great with the coffee. Definitely will be coming here on a regular basis! I love the decor and atmosphere. I even downloaded the app. The best thing from eating here was the amazing service! A shout out to Olivia! Thank you!!!
Not just the look, but everything taste so good. Only one thing is that the salt on the French fried is too much, less would be better. Not sure why the reviews are low but I’m happy to come and try in person, love everything ordered here. If you want healthy meal, they have it, if you want fast food, they have it too. A good place to hang out with family and friends.
Cute little coffee shop. The theming and perhaps some of the creations are Australien. I didn’t get a chance to discuss this with the staff, but that was a fun change of pace. The location was immaculately clean. The staff all worked together to clean the tables and the dining space. Very manual methods and attention to detail. The coffee flavor was fine. I didn’t notice anything special with my iced latte. The glasses were nice and the general vibe was chill and relaxing. It was a good place to have conversation and just chill. I could see myself coming back and trying one of their specialty creations next time.
Food and staff were great, we both ordered the burrito. Only complain would be that there should be options for sides since there are potatoes in the burrito, a side of potatoes want needed. Coffees were amazing! We had magic’s and both great! Place is kind of pricey but overall a good stop.
Nice place with good brunch food. Lemon ricotta Pancake was the best choice from menu and avocado toast was nice too. Almond croissant was good too. Latte could have been more sweet. They are extremely limited on staff and we had to wait for 10 min at entrance to find someone to us (the place wasn’t even half full). Once you get seated its quick.
so after reading about all the negative reviews i had my doubts but this place actually surprised me! i ordered avocado toast and pb/blueberry smoothie and both were super delicious like i was happy i made the right decision because i was starving that day. service was good altho the whole staff thing was weird and you had to flag down the staffs when it's a restaurant was a bit annoying. but aside of that parking is easy, place is bright, clean, and aesthetic.. i would totally come back! i also liked how they had variety dishes on the menu.
The service from the whole team was great! Very tentative and making sure our large party was taken care of. Definitely coming back! The strawberry matcha was delicious!
Came in on a Sunday and it was super busy, as to be expected. The food was very good and didn’t take too long to come out. Drinks and service were a little slower but I didn’t mind because it was very clearly busy. Overall good place to get brunch with friends. Definitely stopping by again
The space is so lovely and inviting. The staff was incredibly kind. The food was delicious. The coffee was great. Other than the considerable amount of time it took to receive our food after ordering, my experience was truly wonderful. Knowing that they’ve recently opened and I visited on a Saturday at brunch time, a wait was expected. So, I look forward to trying again once they’ve found their rhythm.
The coffee here is amazing. We ordered some beans. The food was very good, I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were delicious. My boyfriend got the B.L.A.T.E and it was yummy until we found a hard nut(?) in his sandwich. I will attach a pic. I told the waitress and she told us she would comp us but I had to ask her multiple times to do it because she kept getting distracted and forgetting about us. I still don’t know if she will actually comp it. Also they are understaffed so be prepared to be there over an hour because the waitresses were running around and forgetting about stuff (we had to ask for a to go box 3 times).
Cute place with all it's decor and friendly service but unfortunately the food and coffee I ordered wasn't all that impressive. The coffee looked amazing but lacked in taste. Treated like milk n instant coffee packets. My burger was not good at all. The ingredients around the burger were great but the meat itself was awful. Tasted like old meat w no seasonings. I'm a huge bbq beef eating fool and this just didn't cut it for me. My wife had a breakfast sandwich n pancakes that were awesome n very tasty. For her kindness to let me try her food, I can only give 3 stars.
Food was ok. Pancakes were definitely a little dense. Protein smoothie was gross. And the service was terrible. Our waitress barely spoke to us. Walked by us numerous times and ignored us like she wasn't our waitress. Had empty dishes in front of us for at least 15 minutes before she finally asked if we were OK. She hovered over me while I paid, so I tipped her 18% but I really didn't feel she deserved that at all. Not likely to recommend or return.
The food was pretty good, but overall most of the experience left something to be desired. We went on a Saturday morning and didn’t have to wait, which was exciting. We had two servers, but they didn’t seem to be communicating to one another. Lots of little missteps like no silverware, no sugar and cream with the coffee, and messing up the orders. Nothing was bad, or gross, or anything truly negative. It was just a bunch of little things that left us feeling like, this place isn’t as good as we expected. I wonder if it’s newness. I’d try it again.
Waiting at hosting for 2-3 minutes before someone coldly say us. Saw the waiter twice over the hour we were there. Never received the coffee I ordered. Terrible service. Food was edible.
I have been to Bluestone Cafe twice now and while the food has been good both times, the service has been consistently disappointing. On my first visit, the cafe was not busy and we were one of only two tables, yet our server rarely checked on us. It was also a struggle to flag her down to pay since she had headphones on. On my second visit, I ordered food to go through the app, parked in the curbside pickup spot, and texted my name and parking spot number as instructed. Even though it was not busy, I waited 15 minutes with no one bringing out the order. I finally went inside and asked if their curbside texting service was working. I was told “people just usually come inside” with no apology. The food is solid, but the lack of attention and customer service both times makes it hard to want to return.
Food was good...but the service can be way better. The server I got, (a girl with braids in a bun? didn't get her name), did not check on me once. Also noticed other servers poured a cup of water for their table but she just placed the water pitcher on my table and walked off. Then I had to flag her down for a check. I was better off getting my order to-go I guess.
I'm sorry but is this a kids' meal? When I asked the waitress if that was all the fries that came with it she looked at me like I was crazy. The location is filthy with things on the floors and dust everywhere. This company is supposed to be what it advertises on social media. This is the second location I go to so I expect the same hospitality.
I was so disappointed with Bluestone Lane. We saw it driving down Yale, looked it up, and knew we had to go. Spoiler….you shouldn’t. We had high hopes and expectations and the only thing that held up after visiting was that it looks good. The food did look good, BUT that’s it. We ordered from a QR code (selected items to put in a cart and paid with our phones like you are ordering to go) which isn’t horrible in itself, but it definitely changes the experience and took away from the overall experience we expected (especially for the prices you pay). Things slowly came out randomly with my girlfriends meal coming first, followed by our coffees 15 minutes later, followed by the other meal to the point that she could have just eaten alone before my food arrived. (We ordered at the same time.) I could look past or wouldn’t have much of an issue with some of the prior things above if the food was great. It wasn’t. The avocado on my BL Big Brekkie was clearly rancid and ruined the entire dish. It’s avocado toast with all sorts of extras…..the avocado is pretty important here. Not to mention serving something that has not past its expiration. I scraped all the avocado off and pushed it to the side hoping the other parts of the meal were tasty. The rest of the meal was beyond bland. I’m not sure the kitchen has salt in it or even knows what salt is as there was not an ounce of flavor in anything I ate. The mushrooms and tomatoes were boring, the toast was dry and unsatisfying, and the greens ended up being this soggy mush to top it all off. My girlfriends meal (chimichurri eggs) and the coffee was equally underwhelming and very forgettable. I will say, the side of potato wedges was decent and the bacon was good! Its hard to mess up bacon I guess, but some kudos for not messing it up seems appropriate here. Overall, I would say don’t waste your time coming here. We definitely won’t be coming back. (Not even for the free coffee you get when you sign up after ordering.) You are better off cooking at home, or going almost anywhere else. (There are so many great restaurants in the Heights area.) I would stop here if you want to post some pictures of nice looking meals, then leave and eat somewhere else. If you do decide to stay and eat, bring a few salt packets and a book to pass the time while you wait for your order.
They seated us fairly quickly in the balcony, and shortly after got us water and what we wanted to order. When the food arrived it took no longer than 10 mins which was nice. For some reason they forgot our orange juice and no one came to check up on us the whole time we were seated. I got up and went to the front to let them know by the time we got the orange juice our food was nearly gone. Service is terrible also before I forget when we did get our food they asked if we wanted sauce I said yes chalupa sauce. They never brought it out.
