Flower Child Houston Reviews
Love this place as it has so many healthy options and great taste. I have tried few items and loved all of them (black bean falafel, Mediterranean chicken kabob and chicken enchilada). You will not be disappointed unless you like greasy food 🙃. The staff is always welcoming and courteous and the vibe of the whole place is pretty inviting. Don't sleep on this restaurant. PS: if was too hungry other times to take pics of the kabob and enchilada.
It was hard to decide but I went with the steak, Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts and everything was so delicious! I also love that they have a parking lot. Definitely plan on coming back soon.
I love Flower Child It is one of the best places to get a healthy fast food meal! They have a menu full of farm fresh meats and vegetables. They offer several great salads as well. I like the central location in Uptown too. The best part is their flavored teas and lemonades, which are very refreshing on a hot day.
Loved it! I highly recommend the Chicken Yakisoba Noodle Bowl and the Lemon Olive Oil cake. My family and I visited the Uptown Park location. Great vibe. Lots of seating. Outdoor seating available as well.
My wife and I ate at Flower Child with another couple before catching a movie. The food is fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free, which is great because the other couple both have food allergies. Alcohol is served here, but the selection is limited. Service is friendly and quick. Plenty of outdoor seating.
I will never not crave this spot! The weather was so nice outside and we sat outside and the vibes were so great! My usual go to is the Mother Earth bowl with salmon add on, so flavorful and delicious I can't believe it's healthy. My bf ventured to try the chicken enchiladas not knowing it was one of the popular items, and when I TELL YOU, the chicken was so juicy and seasoning was on point! He was shocked at how delicious it was, expecting it to be a bit of a fusion but it was surprisingly incredible. Definitely will be getting it again for sure. Staff was nice and sweet behind the counter and with bringing out our food to the patio!
Love this place! I've been here 3 times and had takeout once. Anything cauliflower they have is the bomb!! 😋 ❤️ The staff is always so attentive and they make eye contact and smile and are helpful and seem very happy! Usually that means the manager is a good one, so congrats y'all! The salmon and shrimp are yummy! The Gluten Free chocolate chip cookies are so buttery! Everyone is like, "the that's Gluten Free??!!! The Forbidden rice is good too!
Flower Child is hands down one of my favorite restaurants! The service is always quick, even when it’s busy, and the staff keeps things moving without sacrificing friendliness. The food is consistently fresh, healthy, and perfectly balanced — you can taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. I love that there are so many options to fit different dietary needs without feeling like you’re missing out on flavor. Whether it’s a hearty bowl, a crisp salad, or a wrap, everything is made from scratch and served with care. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a delicious meal that’s both good for you and fast!
Was in the area to garb dessert at Crave, but figured I should have some real food first which led me to try Flower Child for the first time. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical at first. The name and menu scream "super healthy" and let's be honest.... healthy doesn't always look (or taste) as good as the other stuff. 😅 But ☝🏾 I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the salmon entree with roasted broccoli and cauliflower risotto as my sides. Everything was cooked properly and packed with flavor and I especially loved the risotto. The meal left me satisfied but not weighted down which I appreciated. My husband ordered the yellow fin tuna poke bowl, and while it wasn't like any poke bowl he's had before he really enjoyed it. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. Overall Flower Child impressed me. It's a place is definitely come back to again and again... even without dessert waiting on the other side 😄. Guilt free, flavorful, and filling in all the right ways.
Whenever I travel to Houston for work this place comes to mind as a top option for when I want to eat more healthy. Their menu is very diverse but you can rest easy knowing that everything is made with fresh and healthy foods. Last time I was there I got the salmon entree with broccoli and sweet potatoes as my sides. Everything was delicious. I would always recommend their lemon olive oil cake. It is to die for 💀. What I really like about flower child is their staff is super friendly and everyone seems to love working there. While the atmosphere seems to cater more to the yoga girls looking for a healthy bite, it’s easy to look past with the multitude of delicious food options, drinks, desserts, and the friendly staff. I definitely hope to be back for another meal soon!
One of our go-to spots n this area for a fresh, healthy lunch. Coming a little early helps as they are frequently packed at the lunch hour. I love the ginger miso crunch and always add the tofu, and my amiga loves the Mother Earth bowl as I recall. All the raw ingredients I’ve come across in their various veggie options have been flavorful yummy and crisp in all the right ways. I do wish the grilled tofu packed a little more flavor punch though. I appreciate that the staff help folks w seating when they are busier. I think they are best suited here for pairs and singles at lunch given their popularity, and be advised u may have to hunt for parking given all lunch hour traffic in this area. Explore the menu as they have some creative flavor combinations here for sure.
Flower Child is such a cozy and beautiful spot! The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff is incredibly kind and friendly. We tried the Chicken Enchilada Bowl and the Peruvian Braised Beef — both were delicious and felt very fresh and flavorful. The food was light and refreshing, though the portions felt a bit small. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth a visit!
A slightly upscale restaurant in uptown serving some different varieties of food with some different combinations like Kung pow cauliflower or other vegetarian items although they do have proteins like chicken, beef, pork, and salmon. They did have some other alternatives for those that have a vegetarian or vegan approach parking might be difficult so plan to Find a different parking spot maybe not directly in front of the restaurant as the parking lot shares with many retail stores around the area service was friendly you order at a cash register and then go to a table or booth for seating employees were smiling and friendly and helpful Food came out hot while prepared fresh and delicious. Not huge portions although I felt like it was inappropriate amount of food that I should be eating. Note my rating system: 1 Star: I wouldn't recommend 2 Stars: Didn't hit my standards 3 Stars: Average (nothing special) 4 Stars: Above Average. Would recommend. Still looking for the 5 Star. 5 Stars: Top of their game. Great food. Great service. Would recommend and plan on returning.
The menu is packed with options that are both nourishing and flavorful, proving that eating healthy doesn’t mean sacrificing taste. The ingredients are fresh, the dishes are beautifully presented, and each bite feels like a treat for both your body and soul. Whether you’re health-conscious or just in the mood for something light and satisfying, this spot has something for everyone.
Such a cute place with tasty food! Went with friends for lunch and ordered yakisoba noodles with shrimp and a side of sweet potato fries. Great menu with substitution options for those wanting to eat vegetarian/pescatarian options. Friendly and quick service, and plenty of parking. Highly recommend!
I absolutely love their tagline, “Healthy food for a happy world” - and it perfectly reflects the quality of their dishes. Every meal I’ve tried is incredibly fresh, healthy, and bursting with vibrant flavors - truly good-for-you food! My top choice is definitely the chicken yakisoba noodles. It’s packed with vegetables, tender chicken, perfectly cooked noodles, and a delightful crunch from the nuts, it’s just an all-around perfect dish! While the portion sizes are a bit smaller, I actually find it to be just the right amount. It doesn’t leave you overly full but still satisfies, leaving you craving more. That’s the true mark of a great dish! I also really enjoy their housemade drinks, whether it’s iced tea or lemonade - they’re the perfect refreshing complement to the meal. The ambiance is another highlight - vibrant, lively, and full of energy. It’s a casual dining spot with a relaxed atmosphere, and they even have a cute outdoor patio where you can enjoy your meal in nice weather.
Walk in and order at the front. They’ll give you a number and you can sit at any open table. Staffs - very attentive! They’re constantly moving with the food so the dishes don’t get cold. Mother Earth - I added extra mushroom into mine! It is my go to dish when I come! Nothing is mixed so if you choose to mix it, you can do it yourself. It’s just enough food. The sweet potato was sweeter than average. Very delicious! Entree - salmon + Mac and cheese + roasted broccoli. It’s also kids friendly! Got it for the kids and they loved it. Even the broccoli! Mix it a little with the Mac and cheese and they’ll eat it! The salmon wasn’t overcooked which I appreciate. Rice - it is a bit salty for some reason… Drinks/utensils - walk to the back and you’ll find them! Water and ice to the right. We had 2 kids at the table and they gave us 2 free cookies. Check ingredients!! It has nuts!
FINALLY got to check this place out!!! Been on my lists to try for years!!! Delicious food, awesome options for those with gluten free diets! Definitely will be returning! It was busy when we went but the restaurant was clean, and the tables were constantly being cleaned & readied for new patrons. All desserts are gluten free which was a treat not knowing which one(s) to pick - tried the olive oil lemon muffin(loaf) - absolutely heaven, not usually a fan of lemon but it was so light and perfect. Also tried the chocolate chip cashew cookie - heavenly as well. Cannot wait to try the other desserts at the next visit. I was not expecting the potatoes to be mashed but honestly so tasty!!! Mac & cheese was delicious, Brussels sprouts tasty & the sweet potatoes were delicious as well but was not sure what to expect when I ordered them. Definitely will return to try other options soon !!!
I had the Mother Earth Bowl add Salmon. The bowl was surprisingly flavorful! The restaurant is beautiful! Indoor and outdoor there was lots of seating. It's a little on the pricey side. The service was very fast, you order at the register and take a number. The only reason I didn't leave a 5star 1. My salmon wasn't seasoned or cooked well (which I asked) Other than that, great experience. I'll be back.
The cauliflower and vegetables arrived soggy and burnt - at the same time, somehow. The whole dish including the tofu was so oily and disgusting.. also it was not hot - lukewarm at best. 🤢🤮🤮 Some of the cauliflower and Brussels sprouts were beyond charred. Also had to spit out something that was very hard to chew. I’m not sure what it was but at this point I had to stop eating. Went up to the cashier and asked for a refund, telling him what happened .. he was nice enough and offered to remake it but I just couldn’t do it. I saw that he had to go get approval from what I’m guessing is a manager… she didn’t say anything or look over (or anything). Absorbed in something else. Bummer, because this used to be a place I loved…not coming back
