Stella's Wine Bar Houston Reviews
Went with a friend this past weekend to Stella’s. It’s great. It’s smaller than what I thought it would be and there’s a great patio for cooler weather, not for the summer weather. The staff is so attentive and helpful. They know and understand the varietals available. The charcuterie board is really good and the options are varied. There are also sliders and flatbreads available. I’ll definitely be back.
What a wonderful experience! I came to try “so you want to be a somm” wine flight and learn as much as possible for the certified exam. Brenda & Eddy nocked it out of the park! They were both so kind, knowledgeable and not to mention patient; I had a lot of questions. Brenda brought out a discontinued CMS deductive tasting workbook and Eddy would walk me through what I was tasting, helped me connect the dots and gave me a lot of key indicators. Tools that many wine schools would charge top dollars for. So thankful for them. PS: make a reservation or follow them on instagram they have a lot of private events. I came twice before realizing a reservation was necessary. PSS: there is one hour retail parking in front of Stella’s wine bar that valet will commandeer maybe around 4:30 but I saw plenty of people (patrons and Post Oak employees) driving into the parking lot that had valet only do not enter signs.
Love the symposium Saturdays. There used to be street parking but I think they took that aw1ay. Valet isn't too bad but it's always nice to have the option for self-parking that is free. The sommeliers here are awesome. Knowledgeable, friendly, and they always make a good program where I buy at least 1 bottle to go.
Great sommeliers work here!!
Customer service was lovely!
Stunning.
Cozy wine place . Love it
Great place
We had a lovely end to our date night here with a glass of wine & soft relaxing live music. Cool place we will be back.
Jeffrey led us through the best tasting I’ve ever had. Knowledgeable and super courteous. Couldn’t recommend a better place!
The staff was so great and tried their hardest to accommodate every request. We were there on a date and it the atmosphere, food, and drinks were perfect for the occasion. Highly recommend and the first place I'm going when I'm back in Houston.
Loved the ambiance! Super cute place with amazing service ! The wine was great and we enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend!!
I am not sure everyone appreciates the significance of this establishment, which I believe to be the best place to enjoy wine in Texas. It is the only bar in Texas, and one of the only in the country, where imbibers can access a Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning wine list in an environment where the wine, not the food, is the focus. Moreover, the fact that every server here has some type and level of sommelier certification makes Stella's, yes, an ideal place to drink wine, but also an ideal place to learn more about it in a manner accessible to and appropriate for neophytes and vinophiles alike. Here, it is vinum gratia vini. Here, as Petronius wrote, "wine is life." For lovers of wine, what could be better?
Extraordinary place for wine lovers !Very knowledgeable hosts. Julie is an amazing wine expert. Will definitely come back for more wine tasting.
Jeffery was absolutely amazing! So knowledgeable and thorough in his descriptions and his suggestions were on point! We will definitely be back.
Huge assortment of wines. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable! The food selection is perfect for a wine bar. Light and tasty.
Very beautiful atmosphere and incredible staff. The 🍷 selection is amazing, and the flatbreads are spectacular!
Best selection of wines in town, great food, and great service. Excellent sommelier.

Small intimate wine bar. Enjoyed the visit!
Best vine!
Reviewed it under post oak hotel. Go check it out ✨✨✨
Fantastic service and recommendations. Very friendly staff.
Awesome place with people that know what’s up. Legit Somms.
Best pizza and wine flights
Fantastic! A lovely experience.
We had a delightful time at this wine bar. The wine selection was good and the staff knowledgeable. The outdoor patio looked like a fun spot, although we sat inside. We really enjoyed the mix and match make your own charcuterie that the wine bar offered. The unique thing for this wine bar is that it had access to menus from the other restaurants in the Hotel. We ended up ordering food from more than one location. The hardest thing for this wine bar is the parking. It's not close.
We had such an incredible time at Stella’s! We both ordered a glass of rosé, white and red wine, and all recommendations from Elena were absolutely perfect. The wine selection (both glasses and bottles) is 10/10. The quality of the food was really great, service was attentive and friendly and the patio is beautiful. We will 100% be back - thanks again for the lovely evening!
Don't let the fact that it's at Post Oak mislead you; this is a gem hidden in plain sight. I was honestly reluctant to go because it's at a hotel--but it's well situated on the property and feels like a place apart. Service is great; food and wine were great; and there's good inside/outside seating options as well. I'd definitely add this to the list as a place to meet for a drink! It also doesn't hurt that the Post Oak staff is great at hospitality--so getting in and out isn't too bad at all.
Celebrated my birthday here and had a STELLA-R experience! 😉 Ask for Julie and Eddie!
HIGHLY recommend this spot! Staff are SO attentive and work well together as a team. We did not seem to have an assigned server so felt comfortable asking anyone for help or to order. Which is a tribute to their organization and communication. Very knowledge staff and run by a master somm and all staff also certified at some level. Food was super flavorful and fun! It is Slightly hidden inside the hotel just go in the front and turn right in the lobby it will be in front of you.
The Joy of My Down time! I simply cannot say enough about this wonderful place. Part of me doesn't want to write this review so that I can keep this magic gem to myself. Since the moment I stepped foot in Stella, it has been nothing short of amazing. I've had so many recent pleasant memories here. The wine is fantastic! The Sommeliers are truly top of the line, especially Jeffery. I can listen to him talk about the wines, the regions and notes for hours. The food is also divine; the truffle fries will make you strap yourself to the seat and never leave. If you love a super Tuscan, full bodied red, ask for the Susumaniello and thank me later. What has really done it for me however was my recent experience here. I planned a surprise party and called Stella to put the plans in motion. Of course, I requested Jeffery because he is literally a gift to oenology. Jeffery sat with me on the phone for an hour going back and forth on the menu, the champagnes we'd select and even some guest dynamics I needed help working through...this man went above and beyond! I let Jeffery know the number of guests, the vibe I wanted, and my budget, we chatted once more about the party and that was it. Well, I was supposed to come in early to help set up and make sure everything was set but I was late. When I arrived, Jeffery had the table set with a beautiful tablecloth (we did not discuss this) a beautiful chalk written sign for the guest of honor, 10 table settings with champagne flutes, florals and candles. It was more than I'd imagined but also exactly what I would have wanted. I literally only had to place the name cards and my other friend, the cookies for each guest, on the table. We literally didn't have to do anything. Jeffery also took us through a lovely tasting of champagne from the champagne region, made sure the charcuterie boards were beautifully designed and greeted the guest of honor herself. I know she was shocked he knew her name. The guest of honor was so overwhelmed and grateful but so was I. Jeffery made me and my fellow planners look like the best friends in the world. I'm glad I have his personal number now in the event he ever decides to leave Stella haha. Love love love love Stella and Jeffery. Thank you all so much for an amazing event and amazing time, each and every time!
Came here on a recommendation of a friend. This is arguably the best wine bar in Houston! It’s located in the post oak hotel and has a relaxed vibe. Impeccable service from Jay who was our server and amazing wines. Will definitely be coming back!
Checked out this new wine bar at the Post Oak Hotel in uptown park. It’s a very intimate and modernly rustic. They have charcuterie boards and bite sized snacks. Plenty of wines by the glass and over 4,000 variety of wine bottles for choosing. The staff is very attentive and can suggest wines/cheeses/meats. I’ve never been to a place that is so attentive to your needs and so helpful.
Stella's just opened earlier this week, but my entire experience was on point. Their wine list is deep and offers something for everyone regardless of experience. Since they offer light bites to accompany your wine, it's a great way to burn a couple of hours after work while the 610 traffic dies down.
Very knowledgeable staff. Nice outdoor covered patio with fans and heaters. Ordered one of the cheese and meat platters, a lot of food, A lot more than you get at most places. The garlic bread is superb.
This is without question the best wine bar in all of Houston. In fact, very likely the best in Texas. The bar is run by a Master Sommelier. There are only 300 or so in the entire world and she is one of only 30 female Master Sommeliers in the world. This property has TWO Master Sommeliers and one of them runs this wine bar. It usually takes someone a decade or so to work their way up the ranks and take all of the exams to become a Master Sommelier. Many quit because it’s so hard. There are only 300 in the entire world and one of them runs this bar. The rest of the staff are trained well and have passed various exams as they build their career. If you want the best wine selection in Texas with people that know how to pair and have access to rare selections of wines, this is your place. Ask any question you want, no matter how esoteric, as they will likely know.
We had great time at the Stella”s wine bar last week. What a nice place. Everyone is friendly. Jay took care of us. He did a wonderful job. We loved his wine suggestions. We will be definitely back.
Lovely experience! Patio was heated perfectly even though it was very cold outside. Fig and prosciutto flatbread was delicious! Jeffery was our server, thanks for making it a lovely evening!
Stella's Wine Bar is a charming spot perfect for date night or wine enthusiasts. The sommelier impressed us with a recommendation of Anderson Conn Valley wine. It was flavorful and smooth, though it did have a cork issue. The charcuterie board is a must-try! We opted for a large table and were treated to a generous spread. A word to the wise—a large board is too much for just two people! One downside is the lack of parking; valet at the adjacent Four Season hotel is the only option. However, the cozy patio setting made up for it. Despite the Texas heat, it was quite comfortable. And if you're a car aficionado, you're in for a treat. Luxury car shops nearby feature Bentleys and even a $3 million Bugatti! For wine lovers looking to explore beyond the main menu, asking for the complete wine list on your next visit is a good idea. The ambiance and selection make it a place worth returning to.
Limited menus
Very sophisticated upscale wine bar. The sommelier has a very well trained palate. The staff is very knowledgeable, and service is first class.
Incredible wine list with great service.
Place is somewhat small, but the selection of wine is very good and the staff is excellent. Very knowledgeable and attentive
Food is absolutely not worth the price so if you’re coming to try wine, eat first im so serious. Wine was delicious and they prices are great for the flights. Overall I’d try a new wine bar before coming back but would.
I wasn’t impressed with the place. The atmosphere was nice. There isn’t much parking so we had to valet at the hotel. I ordered a wine flight and they gave it to me in regular sized wine glasses. The table was pretty small so it was a lot on the table. There was lots of cork in my wine :p . The food was okay. I won’t be back
