La Casita Idyllwild Reviews
Came upon this restaurant while walking around and enjoying the view. The service was really amazing and food was delicious. Anet provided excellent service and always checked on us to make sure we were doing okay. We had the flautas as an appetizer and we did the shredded tacos combination plates. Everything was delicious especially the green salsa.
Excellent Mexican up in Idyllwild. Service was fantastic. The food was prepped quickly and the service was consistent. Had a great time.
Wonderful setting and delish food. I enjoyed the Chicken Tostada.
Didn’t have the highest expectations after a couple bad experiences at other restaurants in Idyllwild but was delightfully proved wrong. The food was delicious, staff was awesome and accommodating, and we had a good time. They have an incredible jalapeño and olive oil salsa too, everyone loved their food. Will be back when we’re on the mountain again
The deck was great on a sunny autumn day. Attentive staff, best Chile relleno I have ever had in CA .. comparable to true Baja style
We had a great early dinner. The food was pretty tasty. The service was excellent. We ate outside on the deck and enjoyed the fresh mountain air and cooler fall evening. Beware the margaritas are WINE margaritas. So if you like tequila with your Mexican food... this place might not be the place for you. We had beer.
I left my bag there only to realize it when I was back in Santa Monica and Rocio who works there MAILED IT BACK TO ME. The world needs more people like her. She also made the best spicy mango marg of my life. Food was amazing too.
This place was great. They were able to accommodate a walk-in group of six at an outdoor patio table very easily. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food came quickly and was delicious. Definitely recommend.
Looking for tasty, hearty Mexican food in a beautiful natural setting away from all the hustle and bustle? Or a nice mini getaway with that special someone?....La Casita is the place. Staff are very friendly and the food is good and not overpriced for today's times..Thank you La Casita for a nice 1st time visit..definitely coming back..plus I bought some good hot chili in a bottle straight from Guadalajara...so good!
Holy moly. This place is amazing. The food is spectacular. The jalapeño sauce is life changing. The restaurant has outdoor seating that is dog friendly. Vinny offered to get them water which was a very thoughtful gesture. Nestor, our server, was professional and courteous. He made sure we were in want for nothing. We were eating in beautiful weather while being serenaded by a talented guitarist. The best part was meeting the owner, Roberto. He was friendly, warm, and engaging. This place is a must to visit if in the area.
First time at LA Casita. We had two taco combo, I'd say we expected better food than we received based on reviews. The food was okay, heavy on cheese. Waitress was okay, the bus boys were awesome. Food price is what you would expect for being up in the mountains. The jalapeno Salas was good, spicy.
First off, we really enjoyed the fresh salsa! We had a veggie burrito with several types of veggies, crispy chicken taco, and chicken tostado. Liked the taco better than the tostado. Servings were large so we should have ordered less! Our server was pleasant and attentive even though they were very busy.
Great little place in a very beautiful location. The service was wonderful and all the staff was super nice. The food came out quick but wasn’t anything to write home about. It seemed very basic and not authentic tasting Mexican food like some other reviews suggest. I had a chicken taco salad and the chicken was super wet and overly salted at the bottom of the bowl which made the bowl it was in soggy (like a tostada bowl). It was filling in the end which was good cause I was really hungry.
Food is average and pricey. We ordered beef fajitas and nachos. For fajitas, they brought everything mixed on one plate - beef, veggies, rice and beans, and topped with sour cream, never had fajitas this way. Also, beef was hard to chew, not the greatest quality. There was no guacamole, not for nachos or fajitas, which is strange for Mexican restaurant. Their margaritas are made with wine instead of tequila, I tried it first time and it had very sour taste, not that great either. I expected better food quality based on reviews and their prices.
Service was great, restaurant was clean, but the food was flavorless and the oil that the chips and tacos were cooked in was most likely old. I got a stomach ache after eating.
