Jamba Irvine Reviews
Good beer and Good grilled food, I don't have enough words to describe them. Please just check my pictures and you will feel me. The vibe, the environment. the food !!!! ZOT !
Awesome pub on campus. Great bar food such as burgers, “stoner” fries with carne asada, nachos etc.. great kombucha beer options on tap as well as ciders.. also huge beer selection as well. Great place to get together with friends or have some food and study. Bartenders are really nice.
You get a free drink on your birthday and they hold small events like trivia challenges where you can buy in and win money sometimes. Their stoner tots are delicious and can be shared by a few people, but can give you quite the food comes after. Ask for it specifically because the few times I went it wasn't on the menu.
Love coming here for their bulgogi fries. It's a great experience to come split some fries and grab a pitcher of beer with friends and just chill for a few hours. I do miss the pool room that was right across from this which was free for a bit. It was remodeled into an esports arena, so if someone likes drinking and gaming, it's next door, just can't bring it out of the pub. Lighting is dimmed so it's got a nice setting.
Good beer selection. Update: Spent almost every Friday evening here for the past 4 years. Great beer, great staff. Unfortunately all good things come to an end. The University has decided to not renew the contract, so July 26, 2017 will be the last day. So long old friend!
Never had a bad experience here. The bartenders are friendly and the beer is always good. Lots of seating and bar seating as well. What's good is their food is bomb too. I hear you can order on your phone now. I have yet to try it but thats awesome! Go Eaters. UCI (:
The pub at UCI! Came here for the first time with friends on trivia night (Tuesdays) and had a lot of fun! The prices aren't bad, and the staff is quick. Wish they had more drinks than just beer though!
The atmosphere is nice, but probably not a good place to watch sports games. The classic burger was okay... the beef was dry and not tender or juicy. But the bulgogi fries were good. It's nice to bring a friend to share fries with and drink some beer.
Not the best place to come and watch sports but an amazing rotating beer selection including barrel aged stouts and sours. I come just for Pliny the Elder which is difficult to find in SoCal. Cash only for food and drinks but there are ATMs across the way
the food and drink options are good, but a bit pricey for the quality. the pub also was a bit empty during a happy hour, so the atmosphere was good but not great.
Friendly staff, decent to good food, great selection of 30+/- taps and about the same number of food items. Wish they were open later on Saturday nights or special event (Karaoke) nights--but of course it has to make business sense to do so.
Cool college bar I set out for because they had Pliny the elder on tap. I'm from jersey so that's pretty hard to come by in bottles let alone tap. It was super fresh and they had a decent selection of beers. The carne asada tater tots were so good and the chicken quesadilla was really good as well. The beer is what brought me there but the food may have me going back. They also have a breathalyzer on the wall you can pay to check your blood alcohol levels.
The Anthill only serves beer, wine, and food, so don't come looking for a cocktail. That said, the prices are quite affordable. If you order a pitcher of beer, the pitcher is 48 oz (3 pints) rather than 64 oz 4 pints), like most bars have. Their bar snacks are good, and the beer is cheap, so this place is a winner in my book.
As much as I appreciate a bar inside of campus, I still miss our old pub. It's something about balcony and having that access to outside while drinking.. it makes all the differences. Friendly bar tenders and staff. Food is decent. Cheap beer. Can't really go wrong with that.
Great selection of beer for a fair price, chill bartenders, and they have good music playing in the background. Food is good but the portions are too small for the price, but I really just go there for the good beer. $9 for a 3 pint pitcher during happy hour is nice. Oh and the bathroom is above average.
Considering the prices of this pseudo-pub, no wonder why grad students at UCI are constantly striking. 10 bucks a beer and no happy hour! This is a good example of UCI's 2000s-style radical neoliberalism: you privatize every single service, so that these private companies can then charge the academic community whatever the hell they want.
It's cool to have a pub on campus, but I wish it were more of bar and I wish that they would enter the 21st century and start accepting credit cards. Pros: On campus, decent atmosphere, they do cool stuff like trivia or stand up comedy sometimes. Cons: Cash only, no liquor, not super close to parking, hours are kinda wierd.
Under new management. No longer the funky gem with daring offerings and great staff that it used to be. Now has a generic list of "craft" beers. Not a single barrel aged choice, for example. Staff friendly, but not well trained. I had to explain to the bartender what was on his own menu, and that he was standing in front of the tap for the gose he claimed he did not have.
My boyfriend and I visited earlier this week and had an extremely poor experience. We are both 21 and 22, I showed my ID and had no issues. He handed his ID which is from another state the woman at the bar told him she couldn’t accept it because it was horizontal. He explained the state he is from gives vertical IDs but she would not accept the explanation and was extremely demeaning to him. She argued with him for an unnecessary amount of time before admitting she was wrong and letting us get drinks. She had an awful attitude and quite frankly ruined the atmosphere of the environment. I will not be returning simply from the awful service and attitude I saw.
I'm Middle Eastern and saw two Asian guys drinking bear in bear mugs and asked the bar tender who happened to be Asian too give me one and he said "Those are for other people." (Worth mentioning I spent more than $20). I guess this behavior is normal at our campus and should not be mad but can't help it :(
