Mendocino Farms Irvine Reviews
My friend and I ate here on a Saturday afternoon. The weather was fair and there are options for indoor and outdoor dining. There are plenty of ingredients to choose from: bok choy, fish balls, imitation crab sticks, fish cakes, tofu, ramen and/or egg noodles. The ingredients look fresh and well-maintained. Once you are finished choosing your ingredients on a large bowl, the cashier will have it weighed and you'll choose your preferred broth on the menu. I opted for chicken broth and chose it to be not spicy. The total price varies per weight, but it's worth it especially if you're craving authentic hot-pot like soup. Once you finish paying, they'll lend you a buzzer and it will beep once your order is ready. We only waited for less than 10 minutes, and I was impressed with the presentation and service. I added some green onions on top, right before eating it outside. The broth has an umami flavor, while the egg noodles and vegetables I chose were not overcooked. I also love the chewiness of the fish balls and tofu. I'll be back again if I'm craving some Fast Hot Pot by UC Irvine.
This restaurant was recently renovated, and the environment is now much cleaner and tidier. The sauce station also offers a wider variety of condiments. I especially love the music they play — it’s soothing and beautiful. Plus, they’re now open until 2 AM, with late-night discounts available.
I really like this restaurant. They offer a wide variety of ingredients and several soup bases to choose from. The beef bone broth is my favorite.
The tomato soup base is very delicious. Veggies and meats are fresh. The restaurant has new grilled skewers menu now. Great choice!
The old customers of this restaurant. The food is very good, the taste is very good! Fried chicken is delicious! Strong Amway! The important thing is to repeat three times: really delicious and delicious. In addition, the restaurant has a barbecue and is open until two o'clock in the morning! Come and try it!
good restaurant. I’ve been here dozens of times and always offered great service and wonderful food. now they have new menu options of BBQ and it’s really good!
This was a great spot to eat, a large bowl was $27 and it was enough for 2 people. The angus beef was my favorite meat, and the quail eggs were great.
Food was awesome, it reminded me of my 2019 days in China
The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly and attentive. They’ve recently added Chinese BBQ to their menu, which is a fantastic new addition. Highly recommend!
A great hotpot. Fast and delicious. You can choose the food you like. My favorite is tomato soup base.
The employees are very nice to the customer s, and they clearly explained to the customers about the options they have in the store. (鸡脆骨烤串)
Fantastic place for fast hot pot. Perfect for winter, come here every week, always so nice, food and everything! 5 star!
Great place to get late night hotpot. You can pick your own toppings and the soup you want.
Simply goated food, very fairly priced by weight. They have a great selection of various meat products and other toppings to add to your bowl. Spice levels are actually good, other malatang places I've been to always get spice too low. Could not recommend more. Only downside is that it does get busy sometimes, and I've had to wait an hour for my food to get ready before, but on average not more than 10 minutes.
This place is so good! You grab a bowl & tongs when you walk in and add in everything you want into the bowl, then they weigh it and cook it for you. The selection is great, with plenty of vegetable options, noodles, fish cakes, seafood, and meat. The broths they have are so flavorful as well, and it makes for a really warming and filling meal. This place is a great deal, and I keep coming back week after week.
Fast Hotpot is great! You grab a set of tongs and a large bowl. They have a decent variety of noodles, veggies, fish, tofu, and meat options to add to your bowl. Then they cook your selection in the back and bring it back in hot, delicious soup. The staff is kind and efficient. We have already come twice and always enjoy our meal! (I find that splitting a bowl between 2 people is a perfect amount for dinner and costs about $30 total. You can use the small bowls to share from the common bowl.)
It appeared there were only 2 people working while we dined. This location still has the prior Ramen tenant name on the building but it is hot pot. Walk in and grab a bowl and tongs to select your items. The doors were not super clean and left open- probably because there were parties ahead of us. They were out of several vegetables and meat so we had to ask them to restock. There is a small sauce bar next to the for-sale drinks display. You get to the counter and select your broth and pay by weight. I did not notice that the scale was tared to the weight of the plastic bowl. We ordered 3 bowls and each bowl is given a number. However they were done around the same time- took maybe 10 minutes. Everything tasted okay. On our way out we noticed that the door said 2 am for closing time but definitely looked like they were about to close when we left around 9 pm. They should consider updating their operating hours on their storefront.
Food is fine, but the service is the real problem. The server left the tong on the plate when weighing (adding extra cost) and then argued it was “supposed” to be that way. On top of that, they got the flavor wrong and forgot to pack it to go until we reminded them 10 minutes later. Not honest, not attentive.
Nothing "fast" about this fast hot pot. Nearly 45 minutes to wait for food. Might as well go to a regular restaurant and get some actual service with the meal. A decent portion is $15-20 and there are plenty of other options in the area around that price. Avoid unless you want to turn a quick bite into a 2-hour meal.
Kind of sloppy serve yourself awkward hole in the wall that has no ramen ? But college kids on a budget loading up on slop. I went to the counter to get one of their cheap laminated menus to look at, put it down and left, then the owner / manager / cashier proceeded to chase me out of the restaurant accusing me of stealing the menu. Truly memorable for the once in a lifetime rudeness and oddity. This place with people eating dishes that look like nothing you’d recognize deserve only the college kids looking for a bowl to slurp on the cheap. If you aren’t them, I’d advise a pass. There’s a wonderful ramen place 10 minutes away. Hori Nori. Go there
