favorite iv spot
Good vegan bowl.
Amazing food and service!!
Best healthy food around
We ordered lunch delivery at work for the whole staff and it was amazing! Fresh food, great serving size, friendly staff.
Good stuff, mushroom shawarma is gas
Great food. Too much to choose from. :)
Great place shears healthy and friendly
Tastes great! Huge wraps
Wide variety and clearly marked vegan options
Fabulous food and service!
really great hummus and super friendly
Great pita sandwich with lots of options.
Holy cow, I've been missing Pita Pit for years now but this place opens and it's somehow even better. Greek food is one of my favourites and this place did Mediterranean very well.
Very tasty and healthy options. Not really high prices, it is a nice place to eat.
This was so good, quick, nutritious, flavorful, and healthy! Planning to go again. There were also tons of vegetarian options.
Bravo! Hummus republic joins this seasons top competitors. The category is flavor! Get the pita chips!
Friendly service, great food. Highly recommended the lemon chicken pita
Nice place, and the food is actually good, which can’t be said for many places in iv
Super delicious food and helpful staff! Love this place!!
Food was fantastic, service was great. We will be back again!
My god, I got the pita with morrocan steak... SO FREAKIN GOOD!!!
a great spot for a tasty build ur own style meal!
Soooo good. Huge portions.
The place was very clean and cozy. The staff was very friendly and happy to show us all the different possibilities. It’s a very interesting place and a bit different to try. The taste is very peculiar but there’s something for everyone since the choice of toppings is vary high. Also, the quantity and quality of the food were very satisfying. Would much recommend and I will go there again for sure
We were so excited to find Hummus Republic in IV. There’s a lack of Mediterranean/middle eastern food in SB in general, so we were really excited to find this. I’m vegetarian and they have tons of choices for me. I get the bowl and they are very generous with their portions. I try a different base every time, but my go to spread is the tzatziki. Lots of protein options and a bunch of toppings that you can load up on. I would recommend grandma’s hot sauce and the tahini as sauces on top. Their pita is also freshly baked in front of you. If you’ve never had Mediterranean food, this is a great place to get a feel for the cuisine. Looking forward to going back soon
Fantastic Mediterranean food. I love their falafel and pita chips as well. So easy to eat here as a vegan. All their sauces are vegan and they have multiple protein options for vegan/vegetarian. Sat outside and parked my bike at right there.
If you like Mediterranean food, you will love Hummus Republic. The food is fresh and flavorful. Chipotle style meals so you can build your bowl or pita to your liking. They have good vegetarian/vegan protein options. The employees are very helpful.
I love the bowls. Great variety of bases, proteins, toppings, hummuses, and sauces. Big enough for me for two meals. Always friendly and clean and brightly lit.
Very tasty middle-east inspired food with a modern twist. Many vegetarian options. Not fast food per se, but fresh food assembled to match your preferences put together as you watch.
This place is probably the healthiest spot to eat in Isla Vista & it’s bomb! Consistently craving it. The drinks are great too. Good quality food and lots of flavor - it’s basically a Mediterranean chipotle. The Moroccan hot sauce is HOT but delish. They just lowered their prices too. So worth
One of the best new places to open in IV. I love mediterranean food and am very happy that this spot opened. Choose-your-own, “chipotle” style serving, except with a delicious variety of hummus, greens, vegetables and sauces. They also have an interesting mix of lemonades, ranging from turmeric to sage and pink lemonade. Great outdoor seating on the patio
One of the best places in I.V.! Quality food, quick service, and just overall really great taste. They have a variety of options and make-your-own bowls, pitas, and salads. Generous portions for the price.
Obsessed. Absolutely LOVED the lemon chicken. I didn't like the shawarma as much, but it wasn't bad by any means. I got a tonnn of toppings because it was my first time there. Extremely generous portions and not even a bad price compared to similar restaurants. Everything was delicious. Never had couscous before, now I know i like it! The warmed garbanzos are incredible. The toppings are unique and delicious. I got the kalamata hummus, harissa hummus, and the original and all of them were EXCELLENT. The kalamata is very strong in the hummus, so if you prefer a more subtle taste then I wouldn't get too much. The lemon chicken was incredibly tender. Also got lemon + olive oil dressing as well as the jalapeño garlic tahini. Got a fried jalapeño - delicious. They filled my bowl to the brim! Overall just excellent, so many flavors.

It's a little pricey, but also large portions. I'd be happier if it was less food for less money, but this is really my only gripe. It's delicious and healthy. Always satisfied. Edit: pretty much perfect now with the new ownership and lower prices. This is a must visit place at least once a week.
This Hummus Republic location is the best! The workers are so friendly and hard working and they always provide the best food and customer service. The first time I tried this place, I couldn’t get enough and I keep coming back. The tahini shake is so good!! This is my third time eating at this Hummus Republic and it is the best food place in Isla Vista! The workers truly have the best customer service, I love Hummus Republic IV!
I visited my sister for the weekend here at University of Santa Barbara and went walking around to find something to eat. I ended up at Hummus Republic and it did not disappoint!! The ingredients are so clean and tasty!! I got a bowl with their couscous and Mediterranean steak with all the toppings! I love that I didn’t feel sluggish after this meal, it was very good quality. The staff was also very friendly and patient. Such a great atmosphere. If you’re around the area or visiting I HIGHLY recommend stopping by!
The good was amazing and the staff were friendly and knowledge, even about food allergies.
Such delicious bowls, great fun to build your own assortment of food
I absolutely loved my experience at Hummus Republic in Isla Vista! From the moment I walked in, the staff was so welcoming and friendly — they really made me feel like a valued guest. The service was fast, everything was super clean, and the whole vibe of the place was upbeat and inviting. The food? Incredible. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made just the way I like it. I built my own bowl and was so impressed by how many options they had — delicious proteins, amazing sauces, and fresh toppings galore. It’s healthy, filling, and honestly addicting in the best way. This is definitely my new go-to spot in IV. If you’re looking for something tasty, nutritious, and made with care, Hummus Republic is the place. Highly recommend!
Nice patio on the street in Isla Vista. The inside is clean and there is a bar for seating at the window. We got so much food, a $16 bowl was easily two meals for me.
The owner (?) is super nice and happy to explain things and recommend different options. Food is so fresh and flavorful! Mediterranean is one of my faves and this is pretty much the only place in SB that you can get an affordable delicious authentic Mediterranean meal. Yay!

Delicious clean and friendly
More than hummus
wrap was mid
Obviously not gourmet but quite good for what it is. A bit pricey but big servings and p darn tasty. V customizable and staff were happy to accommodate specific requests.
Modern twist on Mediterranean food. Many healthier low-carb options. But some flavors were too sour to my taste.
Somewhat pricey but very tasty
Food was really nice but I had a hard time ordering. As this was the first time for me here, the receptionist wasn't able to help me order. Specifically I wanted to order Vegan.
The food here is pretty good! I’ve only gotten it once but I would go back to try it again. We placed an online order. It wasn’t ready when we arrived so we had to wait a little. The inside was pretty small. We didn’t eat there. If you like Greek or Mediterranean food, I would recommend this place! I can’t wait to give them a try again. I wish I had gone during my last trip to Goleta but there wasn’t enough time. Next time though!! Hopefully :)

I'm not sure why it's called hummus Hummus should be the main item at this restaurant Friends 3 mini scoops of "hummus" don't say it's hummus it's not even close to being hummus This texture is very thick and hummus should be a thick liquid and not an avocado texture The couscous was very hard like undercooked rice Another thing that bothered me is that half of the add-ons are in "EXTRA" payment (the employee mentioned that every product I took is an additional charge) The employee is very nice 10/10 Food 10/5 clean 10/10 Not so worth it
This is to middle eastern food what chipotle is to Mexican food. Tasty, but not the real thing
Food had a weird aftertaste the second time I ate it, didn’t enjoy it too much.
Don't expect real Mediterranean food. Nevertheless, still healthy.
Food is pretty tasty, but it's too expensive. Paid $23.50 for bowl with feta cheese (extra $) and grilled veggies (extra $) + a small bottle of tea because the soda machine was broken + a 10% tip which was the lowest option on the touchscreen without typing in 0, which feels coercive. Fix the soda machine, remove the tip screen, and don't upsell me on a tablespoon of feta cheese, and I would give 5 stars.
The food quality is good but the protein portion size is way too small

Too much money for a salad even though they mix everything in it. The chicken is not tasty but hummus options are good
The food is awesome, but the second time I had was about half the size. Too hungry to go back
Ordered to go and the Turmeric Ginger Lemonade was spoiled!!! The crispy chicken wasn’t cooked all the way and ruined my bowl, gross. I have ate here before and this is the worst it’s ever been and I don’t think I will go back after this!
The monitor right before entering the establishment says ORDER HERE. So we did and took a seat in the patio. Waited about 10-15 minutes when I realized patrons were coming out with their food in hand so, I decided to check in on my order. Inside there were a few people placing orders and a few others in line to pay. When I was addressed I asked about my order and at the same time I see an employee pulling a receipt from the wall and starts to work on it-turns out it’s my order. When I asked why my order wasn’t given a timely attention I was told because I ordered from the monitor. I was told the walk-ins take priority. My question, WHY? Why aren’t orders prepared as they come in? This information was emphasized by another male employee that came to explain to me your order will take longer if you order from the monitor. Apparently, they receive the order 5 minutes after it’s placed and their instructions are to prepare those orders after all the orders placed inside are taken care of. How does this make any sense? -The receipt was nasty, full of food stains -2 stars because the food does take good and the crispy chicken was hot -larger portions because my bowl had a lot of greens and small toppings on top -the Kalamata olives portion was as big as my sharwana chicken Even if I were from this area I wouldn’t be returning. There should be a sign that says to order at the counter if you’d like faster service next to the monitor’s sign that say ORDER HERE. This food experience was not worth it.

Low grade dog food
poor service bad enviroment
im here to pickup the order and the men working here dont know how to talk with customwrs they said busy busy not making orders needs to improve that
Food is fine, service is poor.
Very bad stateste and terrible services
Falafels had bad after taste, pita was tasteless, mushrooms hard as rocks. I only tried the pita and was very disappointed as the toppings did not come together nicely at all. Very expensive too. A waste of money
Mold in the couscous. I tried showing one of the workers, they initially denied it then changed out the couscous. I wanted my money back but they didn’t offer maybe because management would have to do it. Besides the mold and not getting my money back, the rest of the food was good/fresh
They don't cover the food there. While waiting to order, I saw flies sitting on the uncovered food trays. It was gross. I couldn't see any covers nearby, so it seems they never cover the food. Also, the sauces looked air dried.
First time to order, got a bowl to go. Got it home and the couscous was not cooked properly, it was hard and crunchy. Tried to call them to let them know, employees working couldn't understand that I had a problem and tried to take my order twice before I asked for a manager. When the manager called me back she was insistent that this was a known issue, that the food was just overcooked but completely safe to eat. I asked for the bowl to be refunded as it was inedible. We ordered two other dishes that were ok, the falafel is also dry and overcooked. I don’t live in IV, returning to have the bowl remade would be very inconvenient. Manager refused said she would give a discount the next time or remake the bowl. Why would I come back? She then hung up the phone. $20 for subpar bowl that should not have been served. Check out the response from the manager/owner… a real winner in gaslighting and disrespect after truthful feedback.
Tried to redeem my free wrap from here and they refused to give it to me. The worker told me that I could only redeem it on Saturdays and Sundays, and there is absolutely no sign where it says that, even on the app. Such a scam to get people to buy a bowl thinking it'll be free, don't even bother walking into this grimy establishment. Not to mention the ward of flies you have to wade through in order to get in.
I so rarely write negative food reviews, but the lamb bowl I got tasted like if you heated up a frozen meal and let it get cold again. Expensive and disappointing. Not fresh
