Saigon Kitchen Ithaca Reviews
We loved our food at Saigon and will definitely be returning. We played it safe for our first time there with Pho Ga, chicken lol mein, and a fried spring roll. All three were amazing.
This is a restaurant I go to when I want to treat myself. Fresh food and bright flavors. I could eat just apps and be happy. But I highly recommend the Beef Stew Pho, and any of the grilled rice plates.
Love that they have a separate gluten -free section on the menu. Especially love the GF sesame balls! So good we ordered more mid-meal!
Another Gluten free Pho opportunity in upstate NY. I have Celiac and rarely get to safely enjoy Pho. I'm very sensitive and had zero reaction. I wish it was closer. So good.
As a party of 2, we entered around 9:45 pm, which is 45 minutes before they close. They still accommodated us and our food came out quickly. The only downside is that they took away the sauces even though it was still open hours, so we had to get them from another table. The pho was delicious and the meat was also good and tender. Would come again because it’s very convenient and good with a decent price!
Amazing restaurant! My food was delicious. I ordered Saigon Kitchen fried rice with shrimp, and it was very tasty. Shrimps were cooked well, and rice too. I loved the size of the dish. The restaurant and my table were clean, and the staff were fast and friendly. Strongly recommend this place!
Good tasty food with lots of choices for everyone. Spicy Jungle fried rice can be made from L1 to 5 spicy. I choose L4 which was about right for me. Plenty of beef. The pho was tasty. Vermicelli chicken was all well liked. The appetizers arrived after the main dishes which was strange. But they were good. Vietnamese coffee was similar to Thai iced tea.
Not only their food is delicious, their customer service is one of the best service I have been experienced, especially respect the way they dealt with the “difficult” Singaporean customers. (In short, at the end of the meal, after finished almost everything on their plates, the customer decided to leave one burnt piece of meat and called manager to feedback, in exchange for free dessert and to test the restaurant service…) Well done and Thank you.
We went here for my mother's birthday. I have to say that the service here was fantastic. The food as always was very good and had a remarkable presentation. At Saigon kitchen they put a live sprig of some kind of basil on top of some meals and it's something special. I'm not sure what his name was but a more mature gentleman gave us excellent customer service. He was very attentive and responsive to our enjoyment of the experience. My mother had a great birthday meal. Thank you!
SK was one of my favorite local restaurants, but I find myself going there less and less. With manager turnover the food isn’t quite as on-point as it was before, and my friends & I all mourn the loss of the fruit smoothies with boba. A big reason for my (now) infrequent visits is that the prices are very high for the portions you get. The only exception to this is probably the pho. They do have lunch specials, which is a nice offering, and a good way to save money, but the portions are so, so small. I understand that inflation/cost of living/tariffs have impacted us all, and was not surprised to see prices going up-but one would expect (even if slightly) bigger portions to come with that-but that wasn’t the case here. The atmosphere/decor is minimal and basic. It can get really noisy and crowded because it’s a very small restaurant. The bathrooms are very tiny as well-and there’s steps to get in, which makes this inaccessible for many folks with disabilities. The servers are typically friendly, helpful and attentive. Since it is such a small space it’s usually fairly easy to get their attention. I’ve also noticed (and this is a common problem at most restaurants) that once you get your check you wait quite awhile for them to go take your payment, which can be frustrating. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant if you’re not too hungry ;)
The only reason they didn't get a 3 is because the food is really good! Some of the service there is fine but other service is atrocious. The lights are way too bright and there's no plants. Except for the food being fantastic and delicious, they break all the rules of restaurant 101.
One of the top chicken wings I have ever eaten!! Get the Hot wings (about a med/med hot buffalo wing) so so good. Pho is phenomenal and the vermicelli subgum was delicious. I left stuffed and happy.
Unassuming space but really great food. Id be considering going to the other Asian noodles place around the corner but this one had more reviews and frankly looked more authentic. Was not disappointed. Had a killer bowl of pho tai nam, perfect for a crisp day. They gave me a large plate of bean sprouts to boot. Everything was reasonably priced too. If I lived here this would be one of my regular spots!
The food was amazing, pho was super flavourful and fried rice had that nice wok fried flavor, fish had amazing crisp and texture to it with nice savory sauce. My only complaints was I had a fly in my pho served to me but I told the workers and they made me a new pho and compensated me with a free thai tea, also I ordered a crab rangoon but they handed me a completely different squid appetizer but they fixed the issue quickly. Overall really good and good service!
I’ll be frank, the food was absolutely delectable. However, the service I shall say, was absolutely preposterous. Our waiter was super inattentive and so were the people around us. From the moment we received the food we did not see him for the rest of the night. We were deprived of water for 30+ minutes and shunned by the busboys. I’d like to reiterate, super amazing food but the service should be better. Our group was 15-18 year olds and we felt as if every other table got attention beside ours!! Honorable mention: the cashier was picking his nose and feasting on it and also using toothpicks to clean his teeth! Health department where are YOU!!!
