Fresh, tasty, convenient. Only tired the rolls so cant comment on other options, but there is plenty to pick from as far as the rolls are concerned in itself:) I don't necessarily enjoy the sauce they top some of the rolls with, but that's just my preference, so I ask them not to put it on. They get it right each time!

Great sushi, great prices, excellent service. I love going here when i travel to Jackson to go to run errands. Such great sushi and their hot tea and miso soup are spot on. Their bento boxes are affordable and their orange chicken is delicious! I would suggest this place to anyone passing through, or make it your destination when out to dinner with the family.

I don't know where the bad reviews are coming from. Sure prices can come down a bit but the food is killer and the service is awesome. Bashing a good business in this little town is all you have to do with your life, find another hobby. Ive been in this town for 3 years and we go weekly. Never an issue.

Oko sushi is a great little spot in Martel/Jackson to grab some Japanese food. They have bento as well as sushi. My favorite rolls are the Moon roll, Dragon roll, Argonaut roll, and Crunchy roll (not the anime streaming service). All four are great. The moon roll is the only one of the four with raw salmon in it, and the dragon roll is a tempura fried California roll. The dining room always has seating available, and there's a sushi bar guests can sit at if they want to watch their rolls being made. It's also the best sushi in town (and the only, but that doesn't matter).

Went in for lunch. First time. Excellent food and service. They have a beautiful full wall salt water aquarium. Throughly enjoyed it. Will be back again.

I visit about once a month for a client. She's very particular. They helped me find just the right menu item (Rainbow Roll - all Salmon) and remember my name and order every time I call. I am told that the quality of the food is EXCELLENT!!!

In Hollywood, Malibu, Mexico, Pacific Grove, Sacramento - on cruise ships... etc. And I have NEVER tasted sushi as fresh and consistently delicious as it's served at Oko Sushi! Absolutely a Must for when you feel like Sushi and/or Japanese Food!! My family and I have never disliked anything we’ve ordered here and we’ve been frequent diners for 5 years now. The atmosphere is nicely upscale and is always clean, even the bathrooms. The prices at Oko Sushi are quite reasonable when compared to the quality of their meals. The wait staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. This restaurant is also a nice family friendly restaurant. The sushi is very very fresh and served beautifully. The Udon Soup is the best in the county! I love the “boxes” where you choose what main entree (meat or Tofu) you prefer and it is served with steamed rice, small salad and your choice of two “sides” of tempura, California Roll or Pot Stickers. My Mom orders their Salmon every single time (it’s That Good!) and I love the Terriyaki Chicken, the Sesame Chicken and the Orange Chicken (also my Husband’s favorite). Do yourself a great big favor and try Oko Sushi next time you are in Jackson; I guarantee you’ll be very glad you did!!

I recommend the Golden gate roll. It is absolutely phenomenal. They have really changed the atmosphere of this restaurant and the aquatic tank is something to admire.

Not the most amazing sushi place I've ever been to, but it's amazing if you're balling on a budget. I have yet to be disappointed with anything on their menu. The staff is amazing.. attentive, kind, and helpful. The business is small but there's plenty of seating, allowing it to be packed on busy days comfortably.(: The atmosphere is very calming and positive. I personally love sitting at the bar by the fish tank and I love that I can see the chef as he prepares the rolls.(: Beautiful establishment all around. And so far the best sushi I've had in Amador County hands down.

Food orders are done fairly quick. I got the beef teriyaki which is not on the menu and gave it a 4 star due to being a bit over cooked. I’m sure this is easily fixable. Still have the entire restaurant a solid 5 stars and open late which a lot of places in Jackson so close early.

We've been going here for years and enjoy the sushi and other food offered here. It's a comfortable spot. Decent selection and creative rolls. Sushi isn't so easy find in the foothills so it's nice to have this option.

Great tasting food. Dragon roll was deep friend exceptionally well. Foax crab meat was not too bad for foax meat. Recommended for price to tastyness. Foodie approved restaurant! Atmosphere is typically quieter with nicer decor. Not a perfect 5, but a solid strong 4.

Pleasant surprise to find a decent sushi place out by Jackson casino. Food was good, the staff was friendly and attentive. They have a good variety of choices. Didn't care for the miso soup, had a different taste than I am used to having and no tofu. Overall a decent place to go and have some sushi.

Decent sushi. Fish is fresh and well stocked. Rice has good flavor. Rolls are creative and the menu had a variety of options to satisfy even the pickiest in your party. A little too heavy on the sauces and a little too sweet at times, but I suspect this is too cater the the local palette. Definitely recommend.

LOVE this place. I would like to second another review that wrote "good for a local area". Very true. Most good sushi restaurants are in the ritzy areas. I come here about once a month or so. Only 25 minutes from home, pretty common prices. I always ask the server what she prefers. I would go for the Ichi ban if you like a little bit of spice. MmmmMMM! They also make orders to go. Doesn't take much to make me happy though!

The ambiance was great, very typical of a sushi restaurant. The food was good. I've had better, though in a place much closer to the source of fish. I'd eat here again, especially on Mondays, when rolls are buy one get one half off. For a sushi restaurant out in the middle of nowhere, this was a good choice.

This is a sad Satu for us. We LOVE this place, but the Miso was VERY salt, the sushi rolls tasted completely different than normal. Not a single regular employee was there. Sad sad day. Hopefully this isn't a new change.

I personally didn’t feel like they took real care in what they make and serve. It tasted great but used fatty tuna instead of maguro like I asked. No big deal however it shows others which type of food you will be getting and if that is important to you to have the real deal or your palette satisfied. Then you will appreciate this review. They were nice people. Work hard and I’m Sure it’s tough times to get what we order delivered. Costs are high. I am giving it a 4 star only so when you search for above average ratings, you will find the right one.

I will only order certain things because many items taste stale. Tempura shrimp in rolls in example. Sesame chicken is always overcooked. Teriyaki chicken is acceptable. It's a small city not much competition to drive their performance up.

It’s all comparative: Good Japanese food for Jackson. Quality, flavor and presentation was a plain C. Service: No eye contact. Food, drink and bill SLAPED on the table. No: “how are you, how’s the food, thanks for coming.” A teriyaki bowl fast food joint would taste the same at half the price with great customer service. Please take your desire for a positive dining experience anywhere else.

Started put pretty good. But they forgot to make 1 of my rolls. And the Tempura shrimp used in the rolls must have been day old. It was stale. So upon this 1st experience will be my last unfortunately.

Good service and good food. If you sit at the bar you will see none of the cooks wearing the required food prep gloves as stated by California food prep codes. They have long nails and handle all food with bare skin. This is illegal and really needs to stop. Servers are wonderful and it is extremely popular.

Horrible sushi. Don’t go. Save your money and just get a sandwich at Safeway next door if hungry. Rolls are all rice and a few days old fried shrimp inside with fish flakes (I can’t call them slices) on top SWIMMING in mayonnaise and sweet teriyaki sauce. They don’t even have real crab meat as an option, just the fake stuff. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

I've been eating at Oko since I was a kid but in the last five or six years the quality of their food has severely gone down hill. My sesame chicken was dry and tough, the rice was dry too. And for $15 most places in the valley will give you more than three slices of California roll with your bento. Not to mention the flavorless, brown Wasabi

I'm not sure how everyone rated this restaurant 4 or 5 star?? I came in this restaurant at 6:10pm on Sunday with my wife and 2 kids and this restaurant wasn't that busy about 4-5 tables. The waitress took our orders about 6:15pm and the foods ready at 7:06pm... I had ate more than 300 sushi restaurants in California and around the world, to be honest this is the worst one. Spider web roll is so dry I can't even swallow more than 2 pieces and my when I ordered a hot sake it took them 20 minutes to brought it out to my table. The foods is so bad and the service is horrible. We end up and to go the Roundtable pizza to order large pizza to complete our dinner....

Started out with 4 cold miso soups with only one spoon? I told the older lady who seemed to be in charge she took only my soup and never returned with it.... Never made eye ontact with me the rest of the visit, so i never go my soup...... The noodles i ordered tasted like burnt oil...... Sushi roll was ok. . never saw a waitress again even for our bill until we got up and began to leave the older lady then ran our bill over to us.....to ensure we paid, needless to say i dont normally complain or social media but the restraunt had 4 other people theres no excuse for such horrible service we will not be back......

We have been here many times. Sometimes it's good, but definitely not great sushi and it's over priced for what you get. The last straw was a few weeks ago. My daughter and I went there about 4 o'clock on a Friday. The fish was old, sticky and smelly. I brought it to the attention to the owner/ manager and she said "no it's fine." I will never go back there again. Absolutely disgusting!

Ordered 4 bento box, miso soup that comes with it was super salty. Their lemonade was super sweet too. The server only gave us 4 utensil and there's 6 of us. Everytime we try to ask the server she woukd look in the other direction. It was disappointing celebrating my dad's birthday. We were not impressed at all.

The worst experience i had in my life i ordered 2 bentobox with teriyaki chicken and 2 with katsu chicken They brought it after 50 minutes i needed to wait there with my 4 kids and wife they didnt bring water or plates Other waitress came and ask why we dont have water,plates or some green beans . Other customers came after us and they did receive the food before us 🙄 and my kids were about to cry becouse of it . The food came but not all . They brought the first 2 bento box and after another 10 minutes other 2 bentobox My kids were too hungry becouse me and my wife wanted to leave the restaurant. DON'T GO

I rarely write reviews, but after the appalling treatment my wife and I received from this company’s customer service, I feel compelled to share our experience. The representative we dealt with was extremely rude and condescending. Not only was the tone argumentative, but their attitude towards me and, especially, my wife was downright degrading. My wife was spoken to as though she were a child, belittled, and dismissed without any regard for professionalism or courtesy. It was shocking to see such a lack of respect, especially given that we were simply trying to resolve an issue. The representative seemed more interested in being combative than in offering any helpful solution. The way they treated us was not only frustrating but also deeply insulting. No one should have to endure that level of disrespect while seeking customer support. We’ve been loyal customers for some time, but after this experience, I’m seriously reconsidering whether I want to continue doing business with a company that tolerates such behavior from its staff. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues before other customers experience the same disrespect.

We received half of our order several different times. My daughter would order two sushi rolls and two sushi rolls would arrive. Then she (we) ordered four sushi rolls two sushi rolls arrived this happened several times. So basically we are paying for the same if we got two sushi rolls or four sushi rolls. When we tried to talk to the lady that answer the phone she was incredibly rude and just respectful. She said, "That's just how we do it" in a very disrespectful and snappy tone. We won't be ordering or dining in this establishment anymore. Next time treat your customers better!

The food is super good love the rolls and the sushi. My fiancé loved the combination box but the prices have raised… don’t go by the ones you see on google or yelp because a roll is 20 each. I like to plan before I go and my whole mind changed at the restaurant but I still went for it because I hadn’t had sushi in a while. It’s was 75 for everything way over what I guessed my fault for guessing lol. The place is super super cute I love it. The vibe is quiet and the aquarium is cute. The service I hated it… the main waitress attitude towards us was way off- took smiling orders with everyone but us so it wasn’t cause she was tired but something else… she didn’t check on us the other girl did she was wonderful… don’t think I’d go back…. YOU NEED TO TREAT ALL CUSTOMERS SAME NO MATTER RACE,RELIGION, GENDER FYI.

This place was good for a while but has gone way down hill. Last night I started trying to place a carry out order at 7:45 got nothing but busy signals so I figured I'd just go order in person. Got there at 8:00 to find that it was not overly busy and they just left the phone of the hook. Bizarre. Anyway, placed my order and sat down to wait. At this point there are only 3 tables , all of witch are finishing up. 2 other patrons walk in after me and place carryout orders. At 8:50 everyone else in the restaurant including the 2 who came in after have been taken care of and left.the waitress tells me she's going to check on my order. At 9:07pm I was handed my carryout order. Unfortunately I had already paid and tipped generously as I always do even on carry-out . I should have just got my money back and left because when I got home and opened it , it looked terrible. Worst I've had. We were regulars here for years. Won't be back.
