OKO Sushi Jackson Reviews
This was my first time trying. It was delicious! Reasonable prices, good quality, very friendly and good service. The inside vibe is pretty cool, especially with the fish tanks.
I get Sake Sashimi every time I get japanese cuisine. The only thing better than the portions, price, and freshness was the most beautiful waitress ever. To top it all off the atmosphere was 10/10. Akebono in sacramento is my spot to go. Oko Sushi is a very good second. To the queen with the glasses, wow. Eat here, you won't regret it and you will have a new spot.
Chill, reasonably priced, high quality, helpful and polite staff. 100% recommend
Best bento boxes or sushi available in Jackson. Good appetizers. Cool fish tanks with all the Finding Nemo fish. A little pricey but not for the area. Sapporo black on tap is good too. We go all the time.
I recommend the Golden gate roll. It is absolutely phenomenal. They have really changed the atmosphere of this restaurant and the aquatic tank is something to admire.
Food was EXCELLENT!! They have a great selection, we ordered 5 different sushi rolls to share between the 3 of us, and every one of them was excellent. Looking forward to trying more soon! A nice touch they name some of them after local towns and such. Staff was friendly, fast and efficient. Restaurant was nice and clean, well appointed, but a touch on the warm side, but not uncomfortably so. Definitely recommend and will be going back soon!
Not the most amazing sushi place I've ever been to, but it's amazing if you're balling on a budget. I have yet to be disappointed with anything on their menu. The staff is amazing.. attentive, kind, and helpful. The business is small but there's plenty of seating, allowing it to be packed on busy days comfortably.(: The atmosphere is very calming and positive. I personally love sitting at the bar by the fish tank and I love that I can see the chef as he prepares the rolls.(: Beautiful establishment all around. And so far the best sushi I've had in Amador County hands down.
First time here , we were pleasantly surprised! Great service, even though they were busy on Sunday evening. Portions were larger than expected compared to other places we have eaten at. Beautiful presentation and very very good taste. The fish pieces were were large and thick, and my husband is not quick to compliment. I compared with mikuni’s and liked Oko MUCH better! Keep up the good work! 👍👍
I have been coming here for 15 years and the stuff are like family this place is a great experience fresh food and great service so many options on the menu they do not disappoint .
WOW!!! DEFINITELY COMING BACK!!! The service is amazing. We’re on our way to Kirkwood and it’s a very nice atmosphere. Food was tasty AND plentiful, great values. Loved how the staff was friendly to us and enjoyed our company. Must come back.
Our goto place for sushi Always friendly service. Good prices. Quality sushi and nice sake. Remodeled in the last two years with a much nicer look and feel. Sit next to the fish tanks!
I been coming here since I was a kid the staff makes you feel like family the food is so fresh and makes me feel so good every time I eat here this place is amazing I recommend everyone to try it the staff is so sweet and kind truly a great experience
Great place! Tasty food! Competent friendly service. The aquariums at the sushi bar are delightful! The “Poki salad” was delicious.
Great sushi and solid menu can’t go wrong with the selection. Seems like a family oriented place and definitely family owned and operated. Very nice staff and management. Food orders are done fairly quick. I got the beef teriyaki which is not on the menu and gave it a 4 star due to being a bit over cooked. I’m sure this is easily fixable. Still have the entire restaurant a solid 5 stars and open late which a lot of places in Jackson so close early.
I had teriyaki chicken and it was really good. It came with rice, 3 ca rolls and 3 pot stickers with a snn me as lol salad. It was $18.95 which is a bit pricey for lunch. Everything was good and a nice place to eat.
Great spot for a quick lunch! There are raw, non-raw, and vegetarian options. Service was pleasant and the food was well made. The Omega 3 and T&T rolls were particularly awesome.
I was shocked how good this place was. Not expecting it in Jackson. The poke was flawless. Light citrus flavor not heavy sauces that hide the fish. The fish was so fresh there was nothing to hide. Just compliment. I dont live in the area but was working there and went back a few times. Tried two different rolls and those were excellent as well! Bonus: tropical saltwater fish tanks.
Five stars for the fish tank (hope I didn't eat any!! Kidding). We really enjoyed the calamari, seaweed salad, and the rolls (no crazy $20 rolls so I appreciate that). The service was friendly. They brought us some yummy chocolate chip cookies. Overall a great dinner!
They were kind and quick. It was delicious food and I can’t think of a downside to my experience here. Will come again!
The food was great! Service was good also. Staff was friendly. Would definitely come back.
I would highly recommend this place next time going through gold country. Pictures won't do this place justice. Super fresh fish and excellent flavors. I wasn't expecting the food to be of this calibre. I think they just beat out my home town favorite sushi spot.Fantastic!

We love this place for our date-nights, or just because nights. The food has always been consistently good quality. Staff is always friendly, and they try hard to stay on top of things service wise. The only thing I wish they did is change up the menu. It's always the same rolls, so if anyone's reading this, please feature some new rolls or dishes every so often. We'll be back again!
We went to Oko Sushi for my husband's birthday last week. Not only was the sushi was delicious, but the staff made us feel so special! They serenaded my hubby and even brought him a (free) ice cream sundae. The gorgeous fish tank relaxes you, the delicious food fills you and the staff makes you feel at home. Oko's is a gem!
Oko Sushi is GREAT! Good food, and the type of service you look for. They aren’t huge but atmosphere is nice with their huge fish tank and sit at sushi bar. And don’t forget the hot soke! Highly recommend them!

Decent little inland sushi place. Most of the rolls were tempura based but still fresh and tasty enough. Service was good prices are fair. Best and only sushi in Jackson.
Clean on the inside, nice sushi bar. I’ve been there twice now, the food is good but not the best I’ve had. Slightly pricey for what it is. Yakisoba had zero flavor, very disappointing. But the service was good, atmosphere nice. I will return and keep trying the menu.
As my Friends & Family Always choose where to meet & have lunch, i never argue with going to Oko. They opened the restaurant up at 11am and we are there! Lol. Bento Box 🍱 is everything you need for lunch. A wall of fish 🐟 aquariums sets the ambiance...
It was my first time there. It was a date night. My salmon dish was super delicious and my drink was refreshing. The service/server's was very nice. Overall, I thought the atmosphere was very comfortable; the background music was a little loud for me...
This sushi restaurant had very very nice people with a great atmosphere, you can watch the sushi chef make the food. And surprisingly very nice and large bathrooms. Try the baked Sushi and something unique that I really enjoyed.
Lots of choices of Sushi, the roll is delicious and special. Benton is fair with the price. The portion of Fried Calamari is too small, however, Fried Tofu is good to taste. Yakisoba isn't recommended. The atmosphere of the restaurant is good, especially the big fish tank is so attractive to kids.
We stopped in to try this place out after driving by it for years. It was a Sunday afternoon, the service was fast and friendly. We got the Rocky III and the Ichiban rolls with calamari is the appetizer. They where very good rolls, just a little lite on the topping. We will definitely be coming back to try a few more rolls.

Party of three for dinner. Service was excellent throughout. Nice atmosphere. We all had Bento boxes: Thai Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Chicken Katsu. We didn’t like the Thai or Orange chicken. Not happy. We didn’t complain, but didn’t finish.

I will only order certain things because many items taste stale. Tempura shrimp in rolls in example. Sesame chicken is always overcooked. Teriyaki chicken is acceptable. It's a small city not much competition to drive their performance up.
Very good food but not kid friendly. My granddaughter was excited to see the fish and was a little chatty she's 3. They asked us to keep her quiet.
Food was disappointing. Last time I went there it was much better. They were very friendly but was not offered a refund, only cookies but my order was takeout.
It’s all comparative: Good Japanese food for Jackson. Quality, flavor and presentation was a plain C. Service: No eye contact. Food, drink and bill SLAPED on the table. No: “how are you, how’s the food, thanks for coming.” A teriyaki bowl fast food joint would taste the same at half the price with great customer service. Please take your desire for a positive dining experience anywhere else.

I've been eating at Oko since I was a kid but in the last five or six years the quality of their food has severely gone down hill. My sesame chicken was dry and tough, the rice was dry too. And for $15 most places in the valley will give you more than three slices of California roll with your bento. Not to mention the flavorless, brown Wasabi
Ordered 4 bento box, miso soup that comes with it was super salty. Their lemonade was super sweet too. The server only gave us 4 utensil and there's 6 of us. Everytime we try to ask the server she woukd look in the other direction. It was disappointing celebrating my dad's birthday. We were not impressed at all.
The worst experience i had in my life i ordered 2 bentobox with teriyaki chicken and 2 with katsu chicken They brought it after 50 minutes i needed to wait there with my 4 kids and wife they didnt bring water or plates Other waitress came and ask why we dont have water, plates or some green beans . Other customers came after us and they did receive the food before us 🙄 and my kids were about to cry becouse of it . The food came but not all . They brought the first 2 bento box and after another 10 minutes other 2 bentobox My kids were too hungry becouse me and my wife wanted to leave the restaurant. DON'T GO
I rarely write reviews, but after the appalling treatment my wife and I received from this company’s customer service, I feel compelled to share our experience. The representative we dealt with was extremely rude and condescending. Not only was the tone argumentative, but their attitude towards me and, especially, my wife was downright degrading. My wife was spoken to as though she were a child, belittled, and dismissed without any regard for professionalism or courtesy. It was shocking to see such a lack of respect, especially given that we were simply trying to resolve an issue. The representative seemed more interested in being combative than in offering any helpful solution. The way they treated us was not only frustrating but also deeply insulting. No one should have to endure that level of disrespect while seeking customer support. We’ve been loyal customers for some time, but after this experience, I’m seriously reconsidering whether I want to continue doing business with a company that tolerates such behavior from its staff. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues before other customers experience the same disrespect.
We received half of our order several different times. My daughter would order two sushi rolls and two sushi rolls would arrive. Then she (we) ordered four sushi rolls two sushi rolls arrived this happened several times. So basically we are paying for the same if we got two sushi rolls or four sushi rolls. When we tried to talk to the lady that answer the phone she was incredibly rude and just respectful. She said, "That's just how we do it" in a very disrespectful and snappy tone. We won't be ordering or dining in this establishment anymore. Next time treat your customers better!
The food is super good love the rolls and the sushi. My fiancé loved the combination box but the prices have raised… don’t go by the ones you see on google or yelp because a roll is 20 each. I like to plan before I go and my whole mind changed at the restaurant but I still went for it because I hadn’t had sushi in a while. It’s was 75 for everything way over what I guessed my fault for guessing lol. The place is super super cute I love it. The vibe is quiet and the aquarium is cute. The service I hated it… the main waitress attitude towards us was way off- took smiling orders with everyone but us so it wasn’t cause she was tired but something else… she didn’t check on us the other girl did she was wonderful… don’t think I’d go back…. YOU NEED TO TREAT ALL CUSTOMERS SAME NO MATTER RACE,RELIGION, GENDER FYI.

This place was good for a while but has gone way down hill. Last night I started trying to place a carry out order at 7:45 got nothing but busy signals so I figured I'd just go order in person. Got there at 8:00 to find that it was not overly busy and they just left the phone of the hook. Bizarre. Anyway, placed my order and sat down to wait. At this point there are only 3 tables , all of witch are finishing up. 2 other patrons walk in after me and place carryout orders. At 8:50 everyone else in the restaurant including the 2 who came in after have been taken care of and left.the waitress tells me she's going to check on my order. At 9:07pm I was handed my carryout order. Unfortunately I had already paid and tipped generously as I always do even on carry-out . I should have just got my money back and left because when I got home and opened it , it looked terrible. Worst I've had. We were regulars here for years. Won't be back.
