Panshi Jamaica Reviews
Amazing food. Large portions. Friendly staff. Don't let the plain decor fool you. This is a hidden gem. Their biryani is amazing. Got some kick to it. Honestly doesn't need anything with it. We had beef curry on the side. Extremely flavorful. Tender meat.
Variety of Dishes, delicious & organised Food. Quality & quantity everything is up to the mark. Thanks to Staff, specially Restaurant Manager.
The butter chicken was so good
Delicious food. Many bangladeshi dishes and cultural foods, there may be crowds sometimes in the evening but they have limited the amount of people that are allowed at once. Interior is kept very clean and sanitary. Great place to eat with family, parking takes a long time on the street.
most of the time i went there night time. All the boys working therr are friendly which is important for me. Food taste 8.5-9/10 in avrg.
Really love their authentic Bangladeshi foods
Two weeks later and I’m still thinking about the amazing goat and rice dish we had here. The meat was tender and juicy and the rice was aromatic and infused with goat stock. Portions are generous; we had more meat than rice. Service was meh and the decor makes it look more like a take-out joint, but I can forgive all that because the food is damn good. At $10-$15 a person, Panshi offers incredible Bangladeshi food at rock-bottom prices.
We had a party here yesterday, everything from the food here to the service was very good.Alhumdulillah For everything.
Here's an unexpected treat that doesn't break the poggy bank completely. One huge selection of great Indian food ( Bangladesh ) open 24/7 for all the late-night chowhounds in Queens ! Amazing array of main entrees, vegetable, meat, seafood items to curries and desserts that will keep you coming back for more. And reasonably priced for all ages alike. There's table service tucked away in the back half of the restaurant with a/c and smaller cafe styled seating in front. The chai tea is worth its weight in gold even on a hot day ! Along with an assortment of sweets to eat after a meal ! Would definitely recommend coming in for a bite highly if you've never had this type of cuisine. Unctuous, hot and spicy !
Very fast late night delivery! I only had vegetarian options, but they were tasty! Egg fried rice seemed to have way too much white pepper, but I like spicy food so while unexpected it was good! Veg singara had boiled peanuts inside which I think should be labeled for those with allergies. I absolutely love anything peanut though, so I was over the moon! Yum!
So far, they have the best biryanis in Jamaica area. The basement party hall is not so big. Went to attend a birthday party. They forgot to serve a main dish and desert. Totally Understand they are busy but when someone book for a specific program, should’ve focus a little bit more. The should increase man power and helping hand. Beside that, their food was good.
Resturant is well maintained and clean. Serves delicious Halal, authentic, Bangladeshi food. Would recommend ordering the samosas, Kababs, and rasmalai. Staff here is corteous.
We went to Panshi for breakfast. We had Vapa Pitha. We also had Chita Roti. Only in Panshi we found that. Food was delicious. We loved it
Food is always good. I never tried the Chinese yet I have been wanting to. Place is just like another Bengali restaurant with seating nothing special about it. Above average price but quality and quantity is good. Must try kala buna and any of the briyani. If you sit and eat the price is different then the price stated. If you pay cash price stays the same.
Pros * Authentic quality good Bangladeshi food * Very clean * Has free WiFi * Reasonable price for everything Cons * Waiter & waiters doesn’t know how serve food, if you ask for water they give you water bottle without water glass. * If you’re party of two they will not prove two plates for appetizers. * Food doesn’t come according to what you order * If you visiting this place in winter don’t expect heat you have to eat with with your outer jacket on. Verdict : Pay what you get however they have good food if you don’t mind to all the Cons. Advice to management please train all the waitresses & close back door all time due to heating issues.
Used to be a decent spot but lost the competition to others in the recent years. Now wouldn’t recommend it at all, almost none of the foods are fresh.
Panshi is very inconsistent… Their food can either hit the spot or be disappointing. Same can be said about their atmosphere which can either be nice and clean or you can still see crumbs on the table. They are consistent with their vegetarian options however, their alu bhaji, bhute daal, and their omelete are good options and they have pretty good chai. If you do come here, i recommend going here in the morning for their breakfast options which usually are the most consistent. Overall, not a bad spot to visit.
The food is decent, the prices are reasonable, the place is sorta clean and not a lot of people dine-in so it's nice. The service is mediocre. Come here pretty often for a quick bite. I only have one real complaint, and that is, they dont separate their meats, this leads to confusion as to whats beef and whats chicken, definitely an issue they should work on.
The place is nice. But sometimes the food is very bad if you go around night time and there always people discussing stupid bd politics.
hosted a dinner at Panshi in Jamaica, NY, on September 2, 2025. The food was enjoyable, but the service fell short of expectations. The dining area was somewhat dim, and the server’s manner was less courteous than one would hope. At one point, he even began sweeping the floor while we were still seated. While this may have been an isolated incident, it did affect the overall experience. I hope the management will take note, as with better service this restaurant has the potential to be an excellent dining choice.
We came here a couple of times - the only reason was the food. Service was average. Some of their cashiers were good, some were a little bit rude. Not sure why tbh. They have a decent place to sit and have a party hall as well. Anyway if you're around there and looking for some quick snacks, you may come here.
Restaurant usually good, however this Sunday (02/02/20202) I went to eat Breakfast with 4 of my friends at around 8:15 am. Sitting in the room for 10 or so minutes, no one even came to ask. Went to front desk - asking someone to come and take orders. Still no one shows up, then went back to front desk - this time I am informed by the girl (with bad facial expression) that no service available in the morning. So we decided to walk out of the restaurant and went to eat breakfast elsewhere.
Food & Service worst. Only positive side eating area was clean and calm.Quality of food below standard compare to near by other restaurant. Order to serve food total very bad experience. Finally surprised me bottle of water they charge $1/- and cup of tea also $1/-. Just one example of ripping. Anyway suggestion avoid this restaurant as with in block plenty of choices and much better food and services.
Not sure why anyone goes there. Food has just no taste. Because of their space it's nice to hangout in a group but oh God their food is ..........
Very disappointed. Service and environment have declined over time sadly. Food was okay. Nice place in the back to dine in. But very dull environment. There was no water on the table. Food order was forgot by the staff. Staffs are also not warm or friendly.
12.20am right now, worst customer service ever ! Ordered biriyani and it smelled horribly bad & vomiting. My friend literally had to throw up in the bathroom. And the lady server wasn't even sorry about it, rather she was giving random & pointless reasons why the food went bad. I've heard other people had these issues as well. So watch out everyone..
Bought tandoori chicken and bunch of take out today, chicken was all rotten, found bunch of worms in it!! so gross!! had to throw out all. good that did not give that to kid, not going to buy anything from them now on, restaurant owners please take some responsibility - DO NOT SELL rotting stale foods, contaminated meats, I would rather spend more for quality food. such a waste of money
Quality of food and customer service is absolutely appalling. This restaurant should NOT be on Uber Eats, period. Most of their food is stale and unhygienic which should be inspected by a city official immediately. Items listed on their Uber eats are not even available and they don’t have the communication skills to at least resolve it with another item. Embarrassing to see this level of incompetence.
Its sad to see bussiness being run like this, specially during ramadan when so many people fast whole day and break their fast with food that is so bad. Today we ordered 11 iftar boxs and off all the items none was eatable where all was untouched. Dear owner plse serve better food since you guys are chargeing for it and these are hard earned money. That you guys are ripping off people like this. Worst food ever and experince!
The most worst Halim I ever had was here. It was very tasty before for some reason all foods are now having different tastes. Once I was given burnout Singara & the associate didn't bother to check it 😡
It was a funny experience. I was standing there at the counter for 20 minutes with my guests trying to order. There were 3 employees who were slow as hell and didn't even bother paying attention for once. The quality of their service is degrading day by day! Not going back there. I'd rather go to Ghoroa from now! Super disappointed and humiliated! -_-
The Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Especially the manager he does not have any sort of manners, nor professionalism. I ordered my food and was about to pay but he made such an issue that I had to without the food.
i get porota dal baji singara ,equality and service verry bad
ORDERED BEEF CURRY. I was expecting fresh curry but got OLD -last night’s left over. Awful taste. Saw them selling that trash curry to some other foreigners.
I had few times snacks and iftar during ramadan month but recently i stopped by to have dinner. I was extremely disappointed. Every single item was old, stale and 2 of the items brought to our table which was rotten. When we informed the waiter, he was very easy going and blamed it to the weather. Obviously we weren't charged for the item however it is very bad business to serve customers rotten food. I am definitely not returning to this restaurant anymore. One thing that trigger people to go is that they have lot of options to choose from which are not that tasty. Extremely disappointed.
Very very low quality food! I was bought 2 Biryani for my kids. It was so spicy. they couldn’t eat it. Quantity was very small, that’s not enough for one person……. Worst Biriyani in the NYC……… strongly recommend don’t go to PANSHI for Biriyani …….
last night me & my Friend went there. everything was good except the cashier. a short guy was standing in the counter. he was tooo much rude with everyone. it seems like that we are criminal. i dont know why he behaived like that.too much disappointed
Very very disappointed with their customer service. Extremely rude. Told us to keep our umbrella on a designated umbrella spot and ours got stolen from there. And they refuse to take responsibility. We respected their rule but they didn't respect the value of our items. Not only that, they were rude about it and were disrespectful to my parents.
Worst food I have ever eat. Don’t go this place. I took beef teheri. Teste like I am eating SHORISHAR TEL with some rice and meat. I don’t know how they run their business. The owner of the restaurant must change their chef. I’ll never go this place next time in my life .
Since it's bengali place the atmosphere is somewhat good. Other than beef tehari no other food items were good. Roasts were really bad. Service is horrible , none of the waiter is capable to take your order without f'ing it up.
This place should be ashamed to sell ppl this food. How are you 24hrs and yet you serve ice cold food to a customer that is standing right in front of you. Chicken kebab wasn’t even warmed up was sold to me ice cold I didn’t know until I got in the car. Absolutely disgusting!!
My recent visit to Panshi Restaurant left much to be desired, and I must say it was a highly disappointing dining experience overall.I would not recommend Panshi Restaurant based on my recent visit. The lack of hospitality, mediocre food quality, poor service, unappealing ambiance, and pricing issues collectively make it a place to avoid for those seeking a satisfying dining experience.
Ordered a Goat Kacchi biriyani, it was awful. There was no taste at all. Meat wasn't cooked well. I got food poisoning, for eating just few spoons. I'm definitely sure the food was 2-3 days old. Stop making people sick just for a little profit.
Such bad quality of food! I ordered many times, unfortunately I was disappointed all times! You guys should improve your food quality and maintain a minimum of Bangladeshi food tastes! Also maintain a minimum quality at least as much as you charge for any food! Not recommend at all and any way!!!
Food was not fresh, looks okay but I got food poisoning right after. And I made the some food to do, that was even worse. I don't know why so poor quality of food for no reason.
I’m a regular here but I’m starting to see some bad stuff. For instance the people who take order took my order an hour ago and forgot; we had to remind them. On top of that, a lady today at 8:45 pm today cleaned her nose on top of the foods she was serving. We told her to wash her hands but she was repulsive and when she did wash it, it was without soap. She had running nose; why is she not wearing her mask? We’re going through a pandemic and even though the deaths are less, people are still dying. Covid is still a big danger to elders and people with health issue. Either this needs to be fixed or actions should be taken to fix this.
Alert!!!!!!!!! Health warning @healthdepartment I don’t know how you guys let this business stay open. This is the 4th time getting food from them and every single time this restaurant gives old food. Food that I don’t know how to serve their customers. People come to your restaurant to spend money so you can stay open and every you make your customers feel worthless. It’s not about money but it is about the money people work hard for. They spend those money to buy something good from you. I don’t know who’s the is the owner of this restaurant but whoever he has, he is not a human. I don’t know what qualifications he has to open a restaurant. There is no point of writing this or even going up to them to say anything because they don’t care. No one knows who’s leading this place but you guys aren’t human. I couldn’t stop myself to come out here and say this cause this is going out of hand and whoever is going there I want you guys to think 100 times before you buy anything from them. Please please share this with your family. I wish I was able to write this in bangla as well.
Many times in the past one and half years Panshi always attended with diligence and politenes. That has disappeared completely. The employees will attend to a customer and suddenly another customer interferes and talks in the Bengali language not considering the employee is attending to you but suddenly leaves and attending to customer that was behind you. Many times rude people old men , middle age women & men. cut in line with no consideration and employees don't say anything encouraging this type of take out and dine in. If you ask about the place it's crowded. Panshi needs to understand to serve all customers. In the past 5 years there were great employees but now they talk back and make a customer feel they are doing us a favor and is very abrupt.
Worst experience: foods are not heated properly, Oil too much. Customer service at night time : Rude and ridiculous. Person wearing blue blazer doesn’t know anything about customer service. This type of employee can cause the company to ruin in long run. Please hire more smart and polite person as a manager.
i will buy chomocha it is a very bad smell so nasty food.stuff /woner carefully take care the food.don't sale next time hot weather time same kind of food.very bad smell inside in the somocha.
One of worst restaurant that i have ever seen in my life. The server doesnot have any sence of serving the food. The food as well as the service are below the Standard.
I’d give zero star if I could. They served us last night’s left over food. When asked they were saying its fresh fish (we orderd Ruhu fish). Also facility wasn’t clean. We had to clean our own table cause those waiter clearly doesn’t care about customer service. It took over 20 minutes to serve the food. I saw them gossiping on the counter while the food tray was sitting infront of them. And we were waiting for the food.
We ordered duck curry and pulau. The chef probably had no idea how to cook duck. And it had rancid smell. Very little meat and mostly bone.spent 14 dollar and got bones to eat with polau. Probably the worst bengali restaurant in nyc.
I was a regular customer. When dealing with the regular employee, the services are great. First time i dealt with Mubarak Hossain. I usually order catering. I usually get good price and good portion. This time I dealt with him, charge me extra. Bad customer service. Started yelling at an employee because employee agreed with me and Mr. Mubarak was wrong. Will never return because of him.
(I don’t have any intention of being rude or hateful this is a honest review, please do better) Lesson learned. What an unusual experience, paid around $20 for a “full” chicken curry and some parathas, what does the chicken curry include? 2 large pieces of bones that filled the whole container and little meat the size of your single finger on it. I actually thought it was going to be 3 pieces of meat, like some actual meat meaning some protein content. And that turned out to be 10 or 12 or something dollars, that’s right! The whole “full curry” is composed of 78-85% bones and 5-7% gravy and 7-13% meat the size of one finger and the rest of the container was just air. I remember buying a “half size” chicken curry last year from here and it had 1 small piece of meat like half the size of a chicken leg, of course not an actual chicken leg, and one huge piece of bone with little to no gravy. This time I ordered full size only to be severely disappointed, because I got like no meat, just bones, with 5-7% gravy(basically 5-7 teaspoons of gravy, try to pour 14 teaspoons of water in to a cup you will have a rough estimate of what I mean, yup that’s the amount of Gravy you get for 10-12 dollars ) Also, once I had ordered a bunch of shingaras/samosas a long time ago and I said I want vegetable Shingara and they gave me like 6 or 8 liver shingara of course no compensation. And few other times I ordered other curries from here like beef and fish and other stuff which cost me over $110, beef I got just bones and no gravy, fish was okay, of course over priced for the quantity of all the curries. Parathas and Naans were normal, rice was normal. Both Biryanis were just bones with a little bit of rice for a high price and a weak flavor. Tandoor tasted flavorless or raw or rotten at the same time. will I buy anything else anytime soon or recommend this place? Maybe if I receive a response and if they give actual meat instead of bones, or just change the sign from “chicken curry” to “chicken bones” because I could have bought like 15-20 pieces of fried chicken from a different store for the same amount I spent here recently. Which would be like 80 times more protein content. It looked like the workers will make sure you waste large amounts of money for bones, why? Do the workers take the remainder for free? If so that would make sense. Because I don’t get why the workers on multiple occasions picked up a piece of meat and they put it away and gave me bones instead, it’s as if they want $20 or $50 from you immediately (one-time) and they don’t care if you come back or not, do they not realize picking and giving customers only bones will cause a loss of profit? Most of us would like to return to a good local restaurant and bones for 12 dollars doesn’t sound like a good restaurant. I am not making a demand that would cause a loss to your business it’s literally “give what we paid for, so that we will return to buy again, we did not see chicken curry sign and pay you 10-12 dollars so that you can give us 2 large pieces of bones” Would I recommend this place? No to anyone who works hard and needs protein and nutrients to recover, yes to anyone rich who is willing to buy the whole tray for what? $400? Or $800? Then you will be lucky enough to get some meat with all of those bones. Was the food at least good? Yes it smelled good and tasted like bones because that’s all I got with little bit gravy and oil, few teaspoons to be clear I get it, inflation, low profit, and so on. But here is a fact if you give your customers something they did not pay for, you will lose customers and profit, I came back thinking they should be given a chance maybe they improved it’s been a year, only to have my thought stomped on and be charged $10-12 for some bones 🦴 🦴 I request the owner to send someone in the restaurant in the near future secretly have them order food and I would like for the owner to see what is being given for the price.
nasty food they dont know how to cook
My husband bought catering and got scammed by Mubarak hossain. All other staff are great. Biriyani started smelling right after I removed the lid. We ordered catering before with them around 3/4 times, had a really good experience that’s why for our Iftar get together we went to panshi to order. It was very embarrassing when our guests didn’t get to enjoy the food. Will not go back there ever again.
I always do catering here. Prices here was great and food is delicious. Edit my review... i am regular customer here. Loved this place. But after dealing with Mubarak Hussain(manager), will never go back to this place. He is putting a bad name to this place. He lied, stole, and just can admit he's wrong. Ordered catering, Food was bad, price was not stated correctly and no accommodation. Would not recommend this place.
I took chicken beriani and dal dal was smell bed and horrible service
I have been going to this restaurant since past 3 years but yesterday what they did it’s was unbelievable me and my friends ate in there restaurant after eating I went to counter ordered a tea paid for everything. On my way out I asked for extra cup. He said 50c for a cup. He wouldn’t take card for 50cents. I usually don’t carry cash. If cup is 50c extra u should u have told me before paying. Who charge 50cents for plastic cup. I swear me and my friends family are never going back there again. Wrost customer service ever. Not respectful at well.
I got sick from eating at a panshi restaurant foods. Their chicken roast had a very bad smell, I returned it.
I recommend for everyone this is one of the nasty resturant in nyc,,,,,we got a insect in food. Bengali people shouldn’t go right there. The food is not as tasty as it lookslooks. specially. ,,,,,,,, ✔ thai Soup,,,, ✔sweet meet masala ✔Fuska or panipuri and other stuff please,,,,,, I'm like Again remind you guys never go there its really worth expense money
DO NOT EAT HERE I thought the reviews were bs but I ordered the sizzling chicken, naan, masala fried rice, wontons, and Thai soup the sizzling chicken should be called sizzling salt because it was full of it nothing but salt, tasted like I was eating hot cornstarch with salt in it chicken was really wet and soggy waste of money and the Thai soup they but broccoli in it now if you know Bengali Chinese food then you know they never put broccoli in it,only thing that was edible from my order were the wontons they took more than 45 mins just to bring out the flavourless soup and the wontons, the worst restaurant experience I ever had in my life I will never be coming back here again and I advise you guys to do the same save your money and go somewhere that actually gives a damn about customer service and food.
I buy 7 pieces of chicken for Thanksgiving. They won't put any salad on my to-go tray. Nov/27/2025
Extremely garbage food taste quality of the service very poor quantity. And foods quantity too small if you compare the price.
9/17 /2025 around 4:30 am two beaches was working I asked them first person say no ruty 2nd person said it’s take time you have to wait longer than I ordered briani my food in microwave another person ordered ruty infront of me they make ruty right way when I leave the restaurant I told him you said no ruty but you guys just made no answer not even sorry this place should ICE rate
Some of the people working at the cashier are so rude they don’t even know how to behave with elderly. We have been going there for several years and I think the new stuff’s there are very ill-mannered. Extremely disrespectful! Even though the food quality is okay, but the terrible behavior of the stuff’s is unacceptable
We waited for long to get expired and leftover food. Food was spoiled and terrible. Customer service was rude and disrespectful. I am not new to this restaurant, and I am disappointed that it has declined horribly since. Please do not go to this restaurant.
Today, 1/9/2026, after a long day of school and office work, we went to Panshi Restaurant for our favorite and nostalgic order of chicken lollipop, thai soup, Manchurian Chow Mein, and Manchurian fried rice. However, our experience was vastly horrible. We patiently waited for two hours long just to get food that was not fresh. The Manchurian Chow Mein texture and color was not proper, so we asked the staff to redo the order. Next, the Manchurian fried rice was clearly not fried, and the texture of the rice was suspicious. The last straw was when a long piece of hair was found on the fried rice. When we reported this to the staff and requested him to bring the manager, he brought a rude and disrespectful man who isn’t even a manager. Overall, the food and customer service quality was awful. If I could rate it zero, I would. 👎👎👎👎👎
Horrified food .Gosh beef tehari food is literally aweful. No blend of mustard oil with the rice.Another beef curry names Kala vuna.Extremely hard meat. How the community absorbed this kind of food. Not recommended at all to new customer.
I was there today in the afternoon and had a very bad experience. The woman (young lady) at the counter was rude and showed poor customer service. She spoke disrespectfully and was not helpful at all. No customer should be treated this way. The food might be okay, but the attitude and behavior ruined the experience. I will not be returning.
As a Restaurant is not bad. But here services is very bad.here team members dress are very dirty . They are very rude with service.the girl in the front service talking with attitude.she collects money and serve food at the same hand.she didn’t wash her hands when served food.
Their food tastes really bad, the service is horrible, and their attitude shows they don’t care about customers at all. The staff are rude and unprofessional, and the place doesn’t feel clean or welcoming. Definitely one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had — I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I went to this restaurant last night, June 6th, around 10 PM, and it wasn't very busy. While waiting for help at the front desk, I noticed that the BENGALI staff seemed to lack familiarity with U.S. customer service standards. I asked a man with short black hair and a round face, who had brown skin, if I could order a vegetable singara (a triangular snack). He bluntly told me they didn't have any. I pointed out a sign that clearly said "VEGETABLE SINGARA $1.50," but he ignored my remark and walked away without offering any further assistance. I won't be returning. I hope the restaurant owner, who wears a wig, sees my review and takes the time to improve his staff's customer service.
