Atami Steak & Sushi Katy Reviews
This place is a hidden gem and the food/experience my boyfriend and I had was lovely and enjoyable!! I left my wallet in the bathroom and this morning I went in to see if they found it and the woman who helped me was so helpful and kind and saved my day by returning it to me safely!! Made my day for sure :)
Food was delicious, hibachi chef and servers were friendly. Would definitely recommend for hibachi.
Great dining experience for the whole family! Food was outstanding.
Had a lovely time eating here with the family. Food was good and the chef was fun and interacted with the kids!
This place has hands down always been my favorite hibachi place. Even throughout the years they stay consistent with their food!!! My go to is always the chicken hibachi with the hibachi fried rice, comes with soup & salad & their homemade sauces. So yum. I’ve never had a long wait here either which is always a plus.
We went here for my wife’s birthday, and it did not disappoint! I had read some mixed reviews beforehand, but our experience was fantastic from start to finish. The hostesses were prompt and clear in letting us know that our whole party needed to be present before seating. Once we were seated, our waiter greeted us with great enthusiasm and quickly took our orders. The hibachi chef was wonderful, friendly, engaging, and kind to everyone at the table. Our 4-year-old was a little startled by the fire segments (every kid reacts differently), but overall, it was a fun experience for the family. The food was tasty; I ordered the filet mignon and scallops, and both were cooked well. My brother-in-law ordered a poke bowl that had great presentation too.To cap it off the waiter gave birthday ice cream and sung happy birthday with a drum! Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal with great value, family, especially for special occasions.
I've been coming to Atami for over six years now, and it continues to be one of my favorite spots. The service has always been consistently great, and I truly appreciate how well they take care of their guests. I'm especially a fan of their Lycheetini martini--so refreshing and delicious! Their appetizers are always on point (Crab Puffs a fave), and while I didn't snap a photo of it, the roll I had this time was just as tasty as ever. They also offer hibachi, which is a fun option if you're in the mood for a more interactive dining experience and with friends + fam. All around, a solid go-to for great food and good vibes. They are also on DoorDash!
Just got some to go sushi from here. I ordered the orange dragon roll and the Philadelphia roll. Both were fresh and delicious. The lady behind the bar was incredibly nice and helpful. Their menu is stacked with variety including traditional Japanese food like tempura. Highly recommend this place who did a great job following safety protocols too.
Their sushi is awesome! And prices are reasonable! Definitely give them a try!
Atamis Devin Hibachi is the coolest way to receive your food. They cook in front of you while doing fun little tricks while you're waiting. Atamis located in Katy, Tx, is a must stop for this style of restaurant. They have a pleasant atmosphere and a short wait time for the many grill tables. The miso soup is the star of the show and comes with your meal if you order the hibachi dinner. It has a unique flavor and comes with a cool looking spoon! Our hibachi chef was friendly and made it entertaining the whole way through. My favorite part was the volcano with the cool lights he shined on it. But of course you can never forget the giant fire wall in the beginning of the show. I always go there when there's a special event like a birthday or promotion. With the short amount of times I've been there, I'm never short of memories. It's rumored that hibachi started 200 years ago in Japan however, it’s debated that it started in the 20th century. Our waitress was extremely friendly and quick to help us. Also while you're there, it is imperative that you get the marble drink, it’s a cool thing that adds to Atamis’ uniqueness. All in all, if you want a good time and a fun experience, Atamis is a must go. Just don't forget to try the miso soup! The address is 549 S Mason Rd, Katy, TX 77450
Took my daughters to this hibachi spot for an early dinner and was pretty disappointed in the service. Our waiter was not personable, I could feel his negative energy from the beginning. No introduction, no “I’m your server” just what do you want to drink?” Then, he tried his best to embarrass the young couple sitting across from us after they tried to tip the chef and he didn’t want them to until they got their checks. He told the young guy “I told you we would split it, I told you and mentioned his low tip in front of his girlfriend.” The young guy took it very well and stayed calm but I was embarrassed for him. They were trying to do the right thing by ensuring the chef received a good tip as well and were punished for it. The young lady he was with mentioned she had been coming here since she was 6 years old. The server should have kept his opinion to himself and handled that very poorly. The food was good.
The food was yummy and the chef was really great, but our server brought us drinks and the soup that the meal came with and then our appetizer plate, but besides that she was on her phone in her seat. When the time came to pay, we tipped about $4 because it was all we could at the time. She then proceeded to follow me into the bathroom and harass me for more tip money! She was yelling saying that she can’t make a livable wage off of this amount, and I sympathized with her because I completely get it, but following a customer into the bathroom is not the move. Safe to say we will not be back!
Walked in to have a dinner date with my partner and waited for literally five minutes as I watched staff member after staff member just go on about their day and not even address us with a "welcome, please give us a moment". No acknowledgement whatsoever. It was as if we straight up didn't exist. It was quite literally the rudest entrance we've ever had going into a restaurant and we ended up just turning around and walking out RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM and never being acknowledged. Sucks because we were really hungry and wanted to give the place a try, but not anymore. Don't recommend when their customer service is this bad just on the onset. Will never recommend. Adding as an edit: we ended up going to Shogun instead and got the complete opposite of treatment. We were immediately acknowledged, seated, and waited on instantly with food coming out not long after. So they gained a customer over y'all's negligence. Learn better customer service.
Disappointed and Frustrated – Poor Customer Service I placed a large order totaling nearly $90 to feed four people, but when I got home, I discovered that the fried rice was missing from every plate. I picked up the food near closing and made the mistake of not checking the bags before leaving. When I called back, the manager/owner refused to offer a refund and told me I could come back another day just to pick up the rice. That offer completely missed the point. This wasn’t just a side item—it was part of the full meal, and the experience was ruined. We were left with incomplete meals for a company gathering. Worse, when my daughter tried to express our frustration, the manager raised her voice at her instead of owning the mistake. That’s not how any paying customer—especially one spending nearly $90—should be treated. It’s incredibly disappointing to be met with attitude and no accountability. I won’t be returning, and I don’t recommend this place to anyone who expects decent customer service or to get what they paid for.
I recently visited Atami to try out their Hibachi lunch special. Upon being seated, my server Nelson was being very impatient and rude when being asked questions about the menu. He snatched the menus out of our hands and sounded irritated when we needed sauce or wanted to order any drinks. He then tried to snatch the receipt out of my hand after he “forgot” to charge my soda to the bill. Nelson made this experience HORRIBLE and I WILL NEVER return. The lady who also works in the establishment was nonchalant and did not care to even greet us when walking through the door.
i have been coming here since childhood and love their food usually. this specific time i was with my husband, he ordered steak medium rare, and when it was served to us we noticed the meat was obviously rare. purple. we asked for it to be cooked longer. the manager was called over and she said she would cook it for us longer, but came back and said the kitchen was closed and we’re pretty much SOL. the outside of the meat looked cooked, but when cut open it was very purple and not what we ordered. she called the cook to pretty much argue that the steak was medium rare. cook, manager and waitress all infront of us arguing the cook of the meat. i’ll leave it up for determination.
