The chicken is seasoned good not all of them is good this is the only one that is good to me whoever the cook is knows how to fry some chicken with flavor

I was leary about eating here, I'd heard how the chicken strips were old, cold from others. But my order was fresh, Out, and everything I hope for with my past meals at Chicken Express, in Marshall and Longview thank you for being on the spot!

If you go to chicken express ,try the chipotle mustard sauce to dip in but don't skimp on the mashed potatoes and gravy but also the honey. You'll want all for dipping and make sure to get plenty of tenders. They're addictive and not greasy at all! It's like they were made in an air frier or baked till perfect crisp somehow. You'll see. Very affordably priced . That's a big huge deal to me always. If I can buy supper for round about the same price I could cook for,then I don't feel guilty about buying out sometimes.

Enjoy the service and the food is very good it was fresh it was delightful and the employees were very pleasant they were very nice treated me with respect and even offered me the best deal that I did not see on the menu at that time which was very nice

There wasn’t mold on my bread. The one that did was the the burnt butter from the pan. They say it happens all the time but people over react and complain without listening or logic. Chicken was hot and fresh. Will come back again when visiting Kilgore.

We ordered chicken strips with mashed potatoes & gravy..we also liked the yeast rolls and biscuits. This was still nice and warm when we got home. Ordered to go...Very good chicken, moist while being crispy & crunchy.

I order team meals from Chicken Express, in general, a lot because they work with schools to provide an affordable meal for the kids. Their food is always good. The kids really like it and see it as a treat.

Place is always clean. Fast friendly service. If you go thru the drive thru be sure you have all your order... we've not gotten all we ordered a few times.

Depends on what you get. 3 piece and coleslaw is always yummy. Catfish can be dry and you only get 3 poppers in the small. Not badly priced tho

I have stopped at this restaurant a few times on my travels through Athens and it is always clean and quick. This stop, the inside was closed and the drive through was open (presumably for COViD reasons). They never give you the amount of chicken you ordered... It is always a little more. For someone like me who generally doesn't eat an entire meal, a combo meal usually turns into a couple of meals or a meal or a snack. The little extra is always appreciated. As always, the chicken was crispy and hot, and not greasy. Nothing needs salt, nor is anything over salted. Chicken Express really does have a winning recipe for everything on the menu. The mashed potatoes are awesome. I got corn for the first time this stop and it was delicious without anything added. A great place to stop in Athens.

The only reason it is not 5 stars is because you never know if you are getting watered down gravy or if the strips have been sitting out too long.

I really wish this location had spicy chicken tendies like Gladewater (Yum) because the chicken just taste like it’s made by a ol’ white dude with high blood pressure.

Great food. Mostly teenagers that usually need extra instructions and patience to help them along with your order. Otherwise great.

Other than soggy gravy. Rolls too sweet. Undersized side dishes, a good place for Southern Fried chicken livers and no gizzards. Plump breasts. Meaty legs. And jalapenos for the pepper sauce.

It would be even better if it didnt seem like everytime I got they forget something. Chickens always great and so are the sides when I get them. If I pay 60 bucks for the chicken I want my sides too

Mediocre fried chicken tenders. Mashed potatoes are tasty, as is the peppered gravy. The sweet tea is extremely sweet. And I did mean SWEET, you have been warned.

The food is always good, my issue is when I go thru the drive thru, I ask for Ranch dressing instead of gravy and no biscut. 99% of the time I get gravy, and when they do give me Ranch, 2 containers for a 7 piece meal....that's just silly. I am just disappointed....also no napkins, no salt, no ranch dressing....happy lunch for me.

Food is good....service....not so much. Cashier was not very friendly....a family came in at the same time as we did and waited for their food for a long time...we were almost finished before they received their order. When the dad asked if they had skipped over their number, they told him they were filling all the "easy" (aka small) orders first. This was only 6 people...and not a huge order...so not sure why the delay for them... Guy was in kitchen with air pods in his ears. He was doing random things, but could have helped with front counter. Someone added tea to the machine and did it in such a manner as the tea splashed out the top, down the front of the machine, and almost all over me and the dad of the family that I mentioned earlier. Food is good, and a good value....but the service is the main reason we don't eat there more often..

Foods always good, sweet tea is really good I just wish they had bone in spicy chicken otherwise I'd have given 5 star's.

I use Gladewater. I always get chicken livers an they have always been just right. But tonight they were horrible. Dry, chewey, batter so hard. And I could have had 2 pieces of chicken probably a whmeal for the 10.00 I paid just for hard chewy livers. They probably had set under light sll day. Please take more v prude in your food.

The food is pretty good, but way overpriced. And they tend to stop serving certain items before the store is even closed. Some people prefer biscuits instead of rolls, but you can't get a biscuit after 8pm and if you do, it's hard as a brick-bat. I recommend go earlier than later.

This Chicken Express location is like Dunkin' in the sense that, more often than not, your food quality is going to be slightly different every time you visit. That being said it hits the spot every time. I recommend the fried okra and the spicy tenders. Not overly spicy, but the flavor is there. Also, the chicken is good cold. If you're into leftovers.

Ive always liked this place but we only go here for the sweet tea and the 16 tender special.

It was an average experience. It tasted like they haven't changed their grease in awhile. I more than likely won't be back.

They seriously need to dilute the amount of pine-sol they use. It’s so strong you can taste the smell and the smell is startling when you walk in.

Went for some guick dinner take out. The mashed potatoes when not fit to eat and the chicken tenders were small pieces. $49 bucks later!! Ughh... disappointed!

Great chicken and sweet tea, BUT here in the last year or so, the service has been very slow, especially if you go through the drive-thru. Service at this Chicken Express use to be very quick. My wife and I don't go there near as much as we use to, just becuase it generally takes sooooo long to get through the drive-thru. I use to recommend this Chicken Express to people all the time, but now I tend not to mention it very often. Not sure if it can fully explain how slow the service their is now, but from my experience, a lot of the young people they have hired, have horrible customer serviice skills, and very obviously don't give a flip about their jobs. We've all had low paying jobs, that we don't like, but at least act like you care a little, and don't let it spill out on every customer you deal with. And on a side note, they seem to always be out of rolls, and I end up with one of their biscuits (which I can't stand the taste of).

The boys were very polite and courteous but seem to be more interested and doing side work instead of getting customers took care of one young man was trying to take care of the front in the Drive-Thru

Won't be eating here again. The food is still ok, but the prices have just gotten outrageous. Also, past 2 times I've been here and asked for some spicy tenders, and they just give regular tenders. I can go somewhere different with chicken for less price and get my order right every time.

So all week I wanted their mashed potatoes. BIG CRAVING. The first day I went and the line was atrocious. I went back on Thursday and I was 5 in line. The chicken was eh the mashed potatoes were delicious and hit the spot. For a snack pack with an extra side and a tea was $20. It is chicken. Supposed to be the cheapest meat you can buy.

Food is good but service is terrible they always forget the food I ordered fries and they forgot they also only gave us one piece of corn when I asked for two they sound so dead and tired there terrible customer service would not go there again

I asked for dark meat, they gave me white. I asked for Diet Dr Pepper, they gave me Diet Coke. The biscuits and roll were not fresh. In fact, nothing I ordered was too particularly fresh. For as long as I had to wait, I figured it would be. I was wrong. I'll probably avoid this location from now on.

Always got Sr citizen discount. Now the discount is only for Combo 1_6. Always got it in past and I ordered a Fish combo. No signish on Sr discount.

Normally I like this place but this time I went through drive thru and no line. Went up to window and had two 6 pc chicken strips. Got home missing side item in 1 box. Wanted biscuits in both... Got rolls. Chicken was luke warm... Mind you I only live 5 minutes away there should have been still hot. I am surely disappointed... Would give a 1 star but the cashier was very nice.

The foods good but the service is horrible the girl was rude after paying almost 25.00 dollars for a meal they charged me .27 cents for a small cup so my son could get water in my opinion that is just ridiculous!

Food here is as expected. Tonight though I sat in the drive through for 20 minutes only to hear they lost my order, after I paid them, with exact change. I came in to speak with a manager and he makes no apology and gets loud with me. Unacceptable.

The past few experiences here have been BAD but today it was so bad I had to come and edit my review. Three of the last five times I've been there the tea has been very sour then today I had asked for very easy ice and she loaded my cups with ice. I also asked for a receipt but wasn't given 1. When I tried telling her about the fact my cups were very full of ice she just turned around and gave me her back. How rude is that? Extremely!!!

There is no good customer service. The young man working the drive through had no type of positive attitude. I give your restaurant a 👎

I wish I was offered a recipe after I was cashed out because something seamed a bit odd I got to the register and ordered ONLY 1sm okra 1gl of tea and 1c of ice tea I was given fries and 2c of tea after the young man repeated my order back to me then after he changed it he gives me a CLUSTER of not fully cooked okra wish I could put a picture of it on here SO NOT HAPPY RIGHT NOW

Well the last few times we have ate there, are carried it out, the chicken tastes horrible !!!! I don't know what they've done to it but it's not the same, as it was a 6 months ago, and the prices are way too high, if they're going to charge you that kind of money, then they need to serve a better quality of food,

Took them 22 minutes to get the order in front of us which was a small bag and then told us to pull up as soon as we got to the window our food should have already been done there were only only two guest inside the store there is no reason it should of taken 45 mins in a like!!!

Went through drive thru in kilgKil Texas manager drinking on the front place his drink on the line and another worker just grabbing food from line and eating it I told the manager what I observed and ask for a refund. Poor customer service.

Horrible! It took over an hour to order and get the food and the window person argued w me about what was wrong on computer and what was on my receipt. Not a happy camper. We weren't offered anything from free rolls to a discount.

We brought a house in Kilgore the last of August. Today was the first and last time I order from here. The food was bland. I ordered a family meal paid extra for coleslaw but never got the gravy to go with the mashed potatoes. Never again...

Service was slow. We were not given a receipt and the cashier did not know what we ordered. Someone from the back had to come let us know it was our order. This location is slow and usually messes up our order

What has happened to this place? They used to be fast. They would even have ppl come to you in the line to speed it up but the last few times I have had to wait in line forever. I’ve literally been in this line 34 minutes as of now and there are still 2 cars ahead of me. It’s not like it’s cooked fresh so it shouldn’t take this long.

The girl that brought our food out was rude. Shoved the drink in my husband's face. Got home with our food and his liver and gizzards were slimmy. The mash potatoes were dry. We ask for biscuits and got roles. This is not the first time this has happened but it will be the last! Get new workers or shut down.

I went through the drive-thru. When I got home, not even 5 mins from their location, I found the chicken cold and rubbery. It's the second time I've ordered from there, and the second time I've had an issue with their food. Never again.

The drive thru workers barely acknowledge my existence when I go through. I thought it might just be me, but it is the same with my wife. We are very nice. We say hello, ask how they are doing, and always say thank you. They LITERALLY say NOTHING. They open and shut the door, and talk to each other. It is ridiculous. Chicken Express in Kilgore used to be very friendly. This is not the case anymore. Can someone in management PLEASE explain to these kids what giving good customer service means. It is an important skill they need to learn. I understand having an off night, but this has happened every single time we have gone there in the past year.

Please either train your people right so they know what they are doing or replace your management with someone who can. This place is the worst one out of all the local chicken express restaurants! Never have had so many problems every time! Slow staff, they don’t know which order is for the person at the window, food is not up to par and they usually forget to add something to our order....

I recently went to Chicken Express to buy some tenders and some gizards... I was so disappointed and mad when I realize how stupidly small the gizards were... The price on this combo is ridiculous compared to the gizzards. I was so upset! I called to the store and asked to speak with manager and she said that's the size they get them and she said she couldn't do anything about it. How about warning people about the crappy gizards you're about to sell them; atleast say "hey the gizzards don't come complete that come in tiny sizes" I was so pissed! I paid 20 dollards for something I didn't even eat!!! Management sucks! And the service they give sucks too the people at the window ignore you they aren't nice and they literally just slam the window after you pay them... never again will I eat at this place!

Horrible, they don't use any seasoning... The food tastes like crunchy grease. The young man at the drive thru was rude... I'll never go back to this place. This was the 3rd bad experience this year.

Just left this place , the lady (manager) very rude . Order a 2pc chicken tenders , get home drop my mom off and no chicken in the box . So I call and tell them , the manager gets really rude and said I didn't order chicken you order tenders 😲 wow ! This place is horrible !! We spent about 50 on a family meal and the rolls had mold the chicken was hard gravy was runny. Just bad service! Won't be going back.. also the girl calling customers darlin... not professional and some people don't like that...

I have ordered here before, and tonight was the worse. The gravy was like it had been watered down ( very thin) not thick like it should have been. The roll was cold, and I had 2 good pieces of tenders out of the 4 that I ordered.

First off they had no chicken breast. Spent almost 30 dollars for 12 piece family meal. Potatoes were cold. I dont feel like i got my money worth. They were standing around drinking their drinks and i felt it was unsanitary. Very disappointed and wont be back to this one.

Drove up to place my order of a large drink. Only car in line. 10 minutes later no drink. Drove off. I called the manger to make sure everyone was ok inside. Their behavior was odd inside the kitchen. The manager could care less. Notice the response to the complaints on here.....exactly.....they do not care.

!So i decided to go by chicken Express for dinner.. needless to say i WILL NEVER EVER eat there again.. smdh.. chicken is rock hard.. plus i waited like 25 to 30 mins in drive thur so theres no reason it should of been old!! Can we all say customer sevice is a good thing to have? This place has the rudest ppl working for them. I love their sweet tea . but that all i go there for and sometimes its not even worth that. They are so rude never a thank you come back. And the manager lady always has a bad look on her face and talks very rude . If you dont like wlyour job find another one.

After years of reviewing this place, this will be my final one. Something is always unavailable, employees are always rude or apathetic, and the food quality is not high enough to justify the prices.

Customer service was miserable. I ordered a 30 pc tender meal to feed my small army. ended up having to supplement their meals from home. The mashed potatoes were so heavily loaded with black pepper my kids couldnt eat them. The gravy was plain water. the manager avoided dealing with the issue by leaving me on hold till i hung up and called back. The counter person was not trained in customer service. He mumbled so that no one could understand him, did not know how to answer a phone, and did not know how to talk on a phone. Will NOT recommend to friends. There are restaurants closer to home i will frequent in the future.

Cold chicken and soggy corn nuggets. I walked in and this cashier just looked at me like I wasn't welcome. I only chose to walk in this time because I've waited at the drive through for 5 to 10 minutes before and no one would speak. They didn't hand me a cup for my drink and I almost walked out without one. When I asked to make sure the combo had a drink to go along with it, I received this yeah from a young black girl with so much attitude it left me stunned. From the DFW to East Tx, this is the absolute WORST location by far. Corporate needs to step in and fix some major issues here. It's obvious why the place is ALWAYS empty. I genuinely had high hopes for this place...

This was the absolute worst experience from a Chicken Express ever. My chicken strips were below sub-par. My biscuit was cold, and corn nuggets were not fully cooked. This location sucked before the remodel and maybe worse now after the remodel. Whoever owns this location needs to take their workers to the Judson Rd location in Longview for them to be trained. The difference between these 2 locations are night and day! My food was hot garbage.

Showed up at 12:20 today. An older white man who was cooking looked right at me 3x didn't say a word, a young black man did the same thing, and a young white man was even near the register and talking on drivethru headset, but never asked to help me. After 10 min, I just left. No wonder this place is never crowded anymore! Horrible customer service! Only 2 customers were inside the place! They had 4 or 5 workers! No excuse!

The crew you had working at 7pm on 6/27/21 need ALOT more training. I can understand that the reason the wait was so long is probably b/c you are understaffed rn but how I received my food is a lack of common sense and training. Our dozen rolls came in a single BALL, all squished together like they rolled them all up together and shot them basketball style into the bag and our boxes of fries were maybe half full, this is not the first time. The picture of the rolls were after they were pulled apart.

Have always loved chicken express. Do not like wait times. In line over 30 mins. Have never tried the catfish but decided to last week. When I ordered the 8 piece fillet meal I was told there was a 15 min wait for it. I passed and ordered chicken as usual. So today Aug.19th I AGAIN tried to order the catfish. AGAIN was told a 15 min. Wait! I asked why. Was told they had none cooked. Uh huh why the hell offer it on menu if you are not going to cook it!!!! This was 3:45 pm and dinner crowd coming on. WOW just wow. As much as I like their chicken tenders they have lost my business. Not going back. I'm done.

One of the worse experiences IV ever had there. Literally sat in drive thru for over 45 minutes and they didn't have one single customer inside. I finally get to the window and I see all 3 employees either playing and dancing around or on their phone. I sat there and watched him take another 10 minutes to make 2, 4 piece chicken boxes. And of course I got my food and was cold. The inside of the restaurant looked horrible. There was more food on the floor than on the racks. Trash everywhere. Definitely won't be returning to this store

We used to enjoy dining here, but lately it has been terrible. The chicken was super soggy and seemed like it was cooked HOURS ago. It was also bland and not seasoned at all. I also asked the guy at the window for honey mustard which we did not receive because the young workers were too busy standing around. Some were dancing. We bought $30 worth of food. It was so bad that we had to throw all of it in the trash. Management really needs to make some corrections. This used to be a good place to eat. These young and lazy employees are ruining your business by playing around and not taking their jobs seriously.
