Patriot DFAC Killeen Reviews
The best dfac in Fort Hood. Awesome customer service and great people there thanks to there leadership.
The food and the staff were amazing. Thank you for the service.
Best
It's an Army DFAC. The facility was very clean and the staff are very helpful and really nice. There are so many options for the soldiers to choose from.
It's the best dfac on base! Theres always a good variety of food and the people working are all cool. I will say the days they stay open and closed can be quite varied
I had a great experience
Omelet with everything starts the day off good. In and out in 10 mins to go.
Great stuff ! The soldiers are enthusiastic about their work . The food is outstanding. A variety of food to choose from.
Really nice. Decent food selection. Better DFAC than most.
Food is delicious. The best DFAC I have been to on Fort Hood. Staff is amiable as well. No complaints.
I have good experiences here. The food is decent for a DFAC. People have mentioned undercooked food, I never have that but individual experience may vary. The line moves pretty quickly. The soldiers that work there are usually polite. The facility is in decent shape and is usually clean. They have table outside that you can sit at if you choose to. The bathrooms are also usually clean.
Staff!!!! The sweetest, helpful and good spirits over all. Each time is a pleasant experience. Today was soul food day and omg Sooo good! Ribs Mac n Cheese, greens brisket. I told them they are gonna make me fat! 🥰 Thanks y'all for the great food and vibes!! Sorry no pictures I was hungry and wasn't thinking about it😁

Great food and service it's always clean and the food actually has taste
Food is always pretty good. Thanksgiving meal was great.
It's a dfac, you'll get what you expect, a meal. Don't expect anything extreme. They had chips and hot sauce, overall, good meal.
We popped in there on the Thanksgiving day, while doing Srgt Major Details. I live off post, so I payed $11 for a Thanksgiving meal. That day higher ups were inspiring young soldiers , by conversations and taking pictures. It felt like a family dinner for a second.

Good food and rather Operable fountain drinks. They also always have a side snack and salad bar that usually has a good choice of dressings one of the better tastes in fort hood

Food was ok. The staff didn't have everything ready when it opened. One morning there was no coffee prepared. The next morning there was no milk.
Have to take it for what it is. Sometimes it's right on point with food, service, and everything. Other times, you're lucky to even get a full plate. Within walking distance depending on your location though.
It's ok but if you don't live in the barracks it's not really worth spending your money. Unless it's breakfast because it's only $3.50.
Went there as a veteran service connected. Took wife in there. We paid 6.85 each, fair adequate food selection, good salad bar great drink soda fountain options with healthy vitamin water. Good typical mess hall.
It's a DFAC. No salt, so it was bland. Great selection. You go for the convenience and price.

%96.87 of the time I walk out of here feeling malnourished and dissatisfied with the food. They open at 0730 on weekdays. Last week I walked in at 0735, my eggs, biscuit, and bacon were cold. Its upsetting as a single soldier I'm obligated to pay for this.
Staff is not to attentive when it comes to replenishing salad bar, soup and coffee. Some of the cleaning ladies are always on a bad mood.
Each time I go I seem to be waiting in line because they dont have one of the foods. Last time I went they didn't open on when they were supposed to, had to stand outside and wait.
Breakfast is decent everything else just No...
Good drink options. You'll get to spend plenty of time relaxing here because the servers make sure to take there time measuring your half a scoop of eggs. Sometimes you even find a hot sauce bottle with three drops left! Dont worry about getting fat either, your table spoon of chili counts as a meat so you cant over eat by getting some chicken too.
The biggest Issue with this defac is it not being open reliably for breakfast lunch and dinner. We are required to pay for the defac, and it is unacceptable for it to not be accessible for all 3 meals. This isn't just bad for convenience, it's bad for younger enlisted personal in general. We do not make enough to buy randomly be forced to buy jack in the box for dinner because the defac isn't properly managed. I dont really have a solution for this issue, but it's one that hundreds of other soldiers are struggling with

Came back months later to say it’s gotten considerably worse. This is a disgrace and unfair to people who don’t get an option of BAS
I got a really bad food poisoning there. never went back!
The worst DFAC I've ever ate in. Sometimes there's hair in my food. Sometimes my chicken is raw. Sometimes the potatoes are burnt. And sometimes you can hear NCOs yelling at their cooks which does nothing but decrease morale and make them more likely to do a worse job.
How is it you guys run out of eggs with in the first 10 mins of being open and have no way of replacing said eggs in a timely manner soldiers have places to be and strict timelines and don’t have time to wait on your lack of planning
What an absolute joke of a dfac, couldn't even provide enough eggs to feed everybody. I wish my money did not have to go to this place. You are better off finding food else where.
This place does not have a phone number which means I can't call them to see if they are open. They have a time on the door but the hours are not right at all. Just because they say they open doesn't actually mean they're open it's more like a guessing game going here
Just ate there big cockroach crawling under the dinner tables
Food is horrible. Service is even worse. You are much better off going to Patriot Inn
Poor service and poor food quality. I pity those of us paying $360 a month in BAS to fund these walking welfare checks they call cooks.
No milk, what kinda chow DFAC has no milk
No hot sauce , no ranch , no meat , no drank , no ketchup , all they had for me was fries and veggies.
They got some nasty flies all over my face and food , my hi c is contaminated with flies , and everytime I try to put food in my mouth a fly almost lands in my mouth.
IMPORTANT they under cook everyday if you go at the last 30 minute before closed you most likely not going to get anything. This Dfac is the worst dfac i have been to in my 3 year of army service. Even the field dfac at Arizona border serve better than them. If this is your closest dfac to you and you dont have a transportation. All i can say is i am sorry. But if you do have a transportation just drive to a different dfac. all they the same option every day for dinner and i am being serious Bake unseason fish. There was Rat running around the dfac during breakfast hour and cockroach falling down from the drinking machine.

Ignore the BSers saying it's good, this is one of the worst dfac's on post, literal last option. They had the people working there boost the reviews. Go to Black Jack instead, it's like 2 miles down the road but the food service is ten times better, as is the choices. These jokers serve greywater in their soup :(
I leave this place always disappointed, been here for a year and a half and it's steadily gotten worse and worse. Most of the drink dispensers never work, there's never any ice, food is prepared very poorly, I've gotten undercooked chicken many times, at least the civilians do a good job at keeping it clean.
How can you get hot dogs wrong?. Raw sausages and disgusting amenities. Will be going back when civilians take over
Today I had the pleasure to visit the Theodore Rosevelt DFAC. As a dfac enthusiast and a individual who only dines at the military facilities I’m always eager to await the meals to come. And to explore the vast varietys of culturally diverse dishes that the government’s money can offer. You know the foods bussin when the lines out the door! And Honey lemme tell you, I don't have to worry about fumbling with my cash or having my card declined. I just whip out my CAC.
Worst DFAC on base by far. Not always open on time (by an hour). Food can be cold. Sometimes they run out of main entrees so you only get a couple of sides for your entire meal. Ect
They didn't let soldiers come in because they where not perverted someone to do head count, acting like they can't send someone from there staff to watch people scan their cacs
Civilians running it, easy 4½ to 5. Soldiers running it, 2 maybe 3. Soldiers don't put out half the spread civilians did. I'm not surprised, though, attitude. Civilians were nice. Let's add to this. 1st mess hall I have been in 42 ½ years that don't serve over easy eggs. Mess hall was empty.
It feels like a waste of money paying BAS. How is it possible that the menu is always the same? Portion sizes and food quality have decreased significantly compared to 2024.
One of the worst, if not THE worst DFAC I have ever experienced in my 26 year career. The food is never hot, the food is just thrown on the plate, and the condiments are always empty. Just to name a few of the many issues. Not even going to get started on the pajamas in the DFAC. The leadership should be ashamed.

The soldiers at the front desk had awful attitudes. The portion size and food quality have decreased remarkably compared to last year.
