Savona's Kingston Reviews
After visiting the Hudson River Maritime Museum we walked across the street for dinner for dinner at Savona’s Trattoria & Bar. My wife and I both had the Baked Eggplant Parmesan ($22.50) mozzarella & homemade marinara, served over penne pasta. My wife also had a cup of pasta fagioli soup. Our group of five all enjoyed our meals. The website says “Traditional Italian With Local Flavor, Our family recipes date back generations and originate in Villabate, a small village on the Island of Sicily.” We parked across the street in the large public parking lot. We charged our EV while having dinner. EV charging is a nice perk of this area. If you like Italian food, you will enjoy dinner here. The service was excellent.
I went here with my sister and we got the antipasto platter, and a pizza. Everything tasted amazing and the portion size was incredible. We were there on a Sunday around noon, and though it was pretty busy, we were seated immediately. Servers were great, and the dining area is beautiful. Price was about what you'd expect. I would definitely eat there again. Highly recommend!
We went to Kingston for an event and we found this gem of a restaurant. They were so accommodating, we were a group of 6 arriving at different time intervals and they staggered our meals. I modified our reservation and Kylie was able to satisfy our request. As soon as we entered, our table was prepared. The ambience and our server, Codie, made this family event memorable. There was no ask that Codie was not able to accomplish. The food was cooked to the correct temperature and flavorful.
My husband and I went to Savona’s in Kingston for lunch. From the moment we entered every staff person we interacted with was welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable. Our waiter was friendly and eager to please. Our cocktails, Blood Orange Martini and Limoncello Martini were perfection. My husband ordered the fish chips and they were perfectly prepared with an aioli sauce that paired well with the fish. The side of Fries were well prepared and tasty. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with spicy vodka sauce on homemade semolina bread. I initially ordered requesting they hold the hot peppers as I was concerned they would be too spicy. I quickly realized that the peppers would add a tasting note to bring this dish to perfection. The waiter offered to bring me some along with the requested extra sauce. This sandwich was delicious. The chef out did themselves when constructing this dish. My lunch came with a side and I ordered the house made chicken orzo soup which was the best chicken orzo I have ever had in a restaurant. I would highly recommend this eatery. Every moment spent there was a delight.
I recently dined at Savona's Trattoria & Bar - Kingston , and it was a fantastic experience! The food was delicious, with each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was excellent as well—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Savona's Trattoria & Bar - Kingston for anyone seeking a great meal. I can't wait to return!
What a wonderful dining experience! Is there pizza is to die for features a lovely blend of different flavors with a little bit of pesto absolutely a culinary delight. We also had a very lovely order of calamari. Calamari was lightly breaded expertly cooked were the delicious side of marinara sauce. The ambiance was fantastic a nice combination of chic decor with warmth and hospitality
Such a great place to grab a drink and some delicious food! They have a nice variety of gin drinks too, which is an unusual, but much appreciated bonus in Kingston. Highly recommend stopping by. We will definitely be returning soon. We went back and had a delicious meal! Savona's does not disappoint!
This restaurant is perhaps one of my favorite in New York. Don’t miss this hidden gem! Our waiter Aiden was extremely accommodating and very knowledgeable about the local area(we were visiting from Long Island). The outdoor seating in this quaint downtown area was absolutely perfect on a late September afternoon right by the river. What started with breadsticks dipped in a basil glaze(complimentary) into our meals was pure bliss. The Veal Parmesan was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while, along with a generous portion on the grilled chicken salad with a tasty creamy balsamic. Overall, this experience has been the highlight of our trip to Kingson/Saugerties area and I highly recommend Savona’s as a culinary experience you won’t forget. We will be back! We even brought our dog in his bag as he accompanied at the outdoor seating area. Thank you Aidan for the top notch experience!
The food was fantastic! Our dinner consisted of antipasta, eggplant rollatini (excellent), and linguine with white clam sauce. The bread twists with dinner were very good but a little on the tough side. The atmosphere is on the loud side. Not at full capacity during our time frame. The waiter was very loud with every customer. He wasn't as attentive as he should have been. Plates sat on the table that were finished through the entire meal. Pet peeve of mine.
First time here. Actually heard about this area from a shop owner on Main Street in Beacon. Decided to check out food places and it was superb! We were quickly seated upon arriving. Waiter immediately came out (Cody was his name). Took our order (see pictures for food!) and was a pleasant as could be. Food came out quickly, and was so darn delicious! We would definitely be coming back next time we’re in town!
Yesterday was our first visit, and it did not disappoint. We were looking for a new place and this is about 20min from us but so worth the drive. They bring Garlic bread sticks right away and they are so so good. We had the seafood fettuccine from the specials and chicken pepperoni parmesan and both were delicious and plenty to take home for lunch or dinner. It is really homey inside with lots of wood tones. We will definitely be back.
We had a fantastic meal at Savona's Trattoria & Bar in Kingston! The eggplant parmesan was a standout, with perfectly crispy layers and a rich, flavorful sauce. The pasta was equally impressive, cooked to perfection with a delicious, well-balanced sauce. The breadsticks were a great addition, with just the right amount of garlicky goodness. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service made the dining experience even better. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine!
Stopped at the marina and walked over to this restaurant. Great drinks, nice bread served as soon as we sat down and the food was great! We had the Veal Parmesan which was a large portion and we had bread with a pesto Gorgonzola cheese sauce which was out of this world, ended up ordering two of those!
We went there for a Christmas part held for Roundout Valley Veterinary Association employees and their family. We had our own private room. The food was above and beyond. It was served buffet style. That's the only reason I heard you have a 3 stars on service. But what service there was was excellent. I definitely would recommend somebody to eat at the actual restaurant I'm sure everything inside is five stars as much as it was for our party.
Lovely Store Front. Very nice atmosphere. Was Seated upon entering the Establishment. Nice size Lunch Crowd for a Tuesday. Ordered the Calamari. Did not Disappoint. Great Bread sticks. Next I ordered the Pear and Gorgonzola pizza with Ricotta and Panchetta and Drizzled with hot honey. First my Pizza was ice cold upon delivery. No Hot Honey Drizzle. My Lunch guests Pizza was also served cold! Then I discovered there was only one Waitress. The Manager and Bartender in the Front. She had a total of 11 tables. I will come back.
The food was good! The servers were polite and efficient. The bread sticks are complimentary, a nice plus, and they are delicious! We had the clams, Ceasar salad, and a fettuccine carbonaro, all ample portions. Nice cool indoor dining as well as nice seating outside, too. And bar seating is an option too. Free parking in the municipal lot. The menus are grubby and need new covers, just spring for it, it will present so much better.
I have always loved Savona’s. The food is consistently excellent, the restaurants are beautiful, and their sauces, especially the Alfredo, are truly outstanding. I recently chose Savona’s for my birthday dinner, and while the food was as good as always, the overall experience was disappointing. After paying nearly $900 for our meal, the service fell far short of expectations. Our table placement was extremely cramped and felt like an afterthought, as though we were pushed to the back and largely ignored. Unfortunately, the staff was not particularly welcoming, something I’ve overlooked in the past because of how much I enjoy the food. However, experiencing the same attitude on my birthday made it harder to excuse, especially given the high prices. Additionally, I was disappointed by the portion sizes. The Mozzarella wedges we ordered were far too small to share, and at $13.50 for 2, it would have cost over $80 for everyone at the table to have one, which felt unreasonable. I understand that it is a business and pricing reflects that, but between the cost, service, and overall experience, I’ve decided I will not be returning.
