Empire 19 Knolls Crescent Reviews
Fresh and delicious Chinese takeout in the neighborhood. Highly recommend shrimp with broccoli and wonton soup. A lot of healthy options. Friendly service and fast delivery. 💯 Thanks!
As a lifelong New Yorker and 20+ year resident of the neighborhood, I've been delighted to see the massive influx of authentic regional Chinese food in this city over the past 10-15 years, and I've been allll over that scene. This is decidedly not that. But if you're looking for a solid, greasy spoon Americanized-Chinese joint that's remained remarkably consistent over multiple decades, this is the spot. They must be doing something right, since they're still going strong while the Duane Reade, Kappock cafe and Korean grocery store all went under and even Ben's market turned into a tragic shell of itself. I can't vouch for everything on the menu, but my go to order is tofu with broccoli and the combination platter with boneless spare ribs, pork fried rice and an egg roll. I've never been disappointed. Bonus points for them leaving out all the sauces/plasticware out for you to help yourself. Oh and I still remember walking in there and seeing Tracy Morgan waiting to pick up his order shortly after his Bugatti accident (when he still lived in the Century). If it's good enough for him it's good enough for me.
Food was delivered hot and the dumplings were steaming! Very good General Tso Tofu! I got the lunch special and it was excellent. It could have been spicer but that is fine (I added my own hot sauce). All in all really good service, food was hot and the food was really good.
Best Chinese food I have had in a long time! I live in Philadelphia and am visiting a friend here in Riverdale. We ordered Chicken with broccoli, beef with snow peas, fried vegetable dumplings, and chicken Lo mein. Everything was fresh, cooked well, and tasty. I will have to visit my friend more often so we can have this food. Highly recommended!!!
Good Chinese food. Closed on mondays however. French fries extra crispy is my favorite along with chicken wings. Home made ice tea sometimes is a hit or miss depending on how old the batch is. I suggest you try the cheese wontons
Superb product, well-priced for Riverdale, efficient staff, reliable delivery. Restaurant seating area small, not fancy, but clean and cordial. Bathroom clean.
Okay experience not the best atmosphere…,
Best Chinese food in the Bronx.

Solid, reliable Chinese food. Fast, efficient delivery and friendly staff. Recommended.
Don’t get the negative reviews. It’s not amazing but one of my go-to places for good Chinese food
Chicken wings were hot and crispy

Fine Chinese food if you're looking for something affordable and standard. Their classic dishes (general tso chicken, lo mein, etc.) are average in quality, but some of less frequented items are pretty good (squid in black bean sauce). Haven't had any issues with service, and if I order over the phone my food is always ready within 10-15 minutes.
The best take-out place in Knolls Crescent. Well, OK, the /only/ take-out place in Knolls Crescent. Friendly staff, timely food preparation. Moderate pricing (this is NYC, after all). The food is actually pretty good but you won't mistake it for the quality of dishes you might find just a few miles south in Chinatown. It's tasty and filling. Not terribly predictable in the flavor department and not terribly delicate (think, dumplings wrapped in carpet rather than dumplings wrapped in silk). But tasty, and just what you need when you're hungry.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is so Unacceptable. I ordered me food for delivery. I bought chicken and broccoli with white rice and the dish was full of broccoli and rice and small pieces of chicken. What the hell.. when I spenty money I expect to get good service. I wish I could have posted a picture here... I am totally disappointed
New owners changed the chef. Everything tastes worse than before except the lo mein. The lo mein is the one the best in this area. That's all I recommend

Ordered garlic chicken and beef fried rice. 0 flavor. Never had chinese food this bland.
Today I was very displeased with the stingy behavior that was on display. I had bought an order for 35 dollars and usually in many establishments a big order like that and they'll give you a free soda or something like that. That's not what I am complaining about though, see I purchased a large soup and didn't have a bowl where I work so I asked for an empty small soup container. Exactly like One they have on the counter for tips and the lady not only didn't grant me the container with gratitude for my placing a large order but charged me 50 cents for it. 50 cents for 1 small empty container. Not a free soda. Not a thank you for return business please come again just attitude and you have to pay 50 cents fornthe container. Basically screw me for buying a big meal right? Also I'm a repeat customer so I'm not exactly a stranger. Well at least I was a repeat customer. Business practices like that and you won't stay in business very long. Also, on a side note, today I noticed that the portions got incredibly smaller than they were before and especially noticeable where the Avocado salad was concerned, which I'll admit freely is to die for, but it was in a such a teeny tiny container. The price didn't shrink, just the portion. Stingy and greedy for the money I guess. I hope it's only because it was the lady who was running the show today was being cheap and nasty because I really don't remember them being like this ever before. I mean like I said this would have been a good review otherwise. Food is good. Pretty much a decent place. A little slow with big orders but otherwise the review would have been a positive one if not for this experience. I like to go to a place a few times before I leave a review because you can always go on an off day or something and glad I had hesitated before reviewing this place before because this one time, this one experience changed my mind from positive to negative. Sad that. This one bad experience soured me on all the positive ones I had had here before. If, and that's a big IF I go back again I hope it won't be as miserable as it was today. Because today was pretty bad.
The food here is reasonably priced, however the service is horrible. They young lady behind the counter that takes orders is rude and unprofessional. I once had to put her in her place by letting her know that it is the people in the community that patron the restaurant, the least she could do is be polite. Her attitude is disgusting, however the older gentleman(owner) is very nice and respects paying customers/residents.

Was a frequent here, but recently found a roach in my food and will never buy food here again. I'm sorry, but there is just no excuse for this.
They gave me brown rice instead of fried rice (i didnt even know there was such thing as brown rice at the Chinese restaurants until today). Food was tasteless, my ribs tasted like pancakes and my second order of pork fried rice tasted so weird. I didnt get a spoon or fork and no sauce of any kind. Two orders for 25 dollar and couldnt even enjoy it! Not even my egg rolls were good and they were supposedly free. 😢 i went back to ask what kind of rice it was and was told that i asked for it but thats impossible , I do not eat brown rice not even at home.
I can't believe it took 2 minutes to prepare a hot and sour soup. They either gave me somebody else soup or uncooked stuff even after I told them I was new to the neighborhood. Won't order from them again. Hope I don't get sick from it threw half of the soup out.
Been there many times, had 1 disappointment and now another. Order seasame chicken and felt like it was someone’s leftovers. Nasty threw it away. NEVER AGAIN they are failing
