Las Morelianas La Jolla Reviews
Loved the decoration. The food is outstanding and the service is friendly. Definitely coming back.
Love eating here with family and friends. Customer service is very good and the food comes very fast, highly recommend eating here when hungry ♥ 😋
1/2 Carnitas order was 💣. 1/2 order of the Chicharron with guacamole was so tasty. Made some tacos with all this goodness, but the Michelada ......was on point... 👍🔥 can't believe I've been missing out on this local gem for this long.. 😃 real 🇲🇽 vibes joint for sure. I'm trying out some Mariscos next time..
If you want some good seafood .... This is the spot , I mean everything is good but I specially go for the fish ceviche. SHOUT OUT TO OLGA!!! BEST PREP/COOK EVER!!!
This place was wonderful. Reason I put 3 stars for service is because when I went it was around 10 am and there were few customers but an hour later it started getting packed and that contributed to the poor service. I ordered the ceviche plate and a bottled coke. It came with all the sides and crunchy tortillas. It was allot of ceviche which was great. We sat outside and enjoyed our food. My friends got tacos, and the oyster plate. The food is amazing. They have inside seating and they even sell the fresh cooked chicharrones. It's a dirt parking lot. They accept debit, credit, cash. Highly recommend.
If you have not eaten at "Las Morelianas" or in Morelia Mexico, the state capital of Carnitas in all of Mexico, you have not had authentic carnitas cooked the old fashion way. This is the only place in San Diego for real carnitas. I first discovered them at the Farmer's Market on Imperial avenue several years ago before it closed down. Back then, it was just a stand inside the Farmer's Market and all they sold was Carnitas and freshly made Chicharron. Once they closed they opened at this location. There are no better carnitas in San Diego, then here. They are made fresh daily along with authentic Chicharron. There beans with freshly made Chicharron are also my favorite. They also provide excellent customer service. If you order to go, they will give you a free carnitas taco while you wait. I highly recommend this place. You won't regret it.
Bomb Carnitasss!! Ive also tried the aguachile and guacamole, its always a hit and miss with those plates. Cool spot to watch the soccer games, the music is good too. Don’t forget to have a Michelada while you’re waiting for your carnitas. Service isn’t that quick but like I said it’s really good carnitas.
I see a lot of negative reviews here. But my experience at this place was great. Customer service was outstanding! The food was great and the waiting time wasn't bad either, 20 minutes to get in and 20 to get our food on a Sunday afternoon. My wife and kids would love to come here again. I had the carnitas plate, my wife and daughterhad a ceviche tostada with a shrimp cocktail. My baby girl had the breaded shrimp... No complaints everybody loved it. But the only negative thing I have to say here is the parking, but even that I found parking right away and the car was safe. I do recommend this place for some great Mexican food.
This little restaurant is INCREDIBLE! You can taste the FRESHNESS in their food! They also have quite a selection of FRESH SEAFOOD including OYSTERS. Fresh handmade TORTILLAS TOO! Their CIVECHE is a MUST! a Could not believe how SUPER CLEAN this place was including their bathroom! Customer service was GREAT too...thanks to ALEX!
I've been here 3 times already! Great authentic Mexican restaurant, locals visit this place often. Lots of seating including a nice sized patio. Lots of seafood offered, carnitas look amazing and huge drinks. So far I've enjoyed each visit and the food has been delicious. Table service is good; only order at the cashier if you are taking food "to go". This place is legit! No tourist, no hipsters just great Mexican food that the locals enjoy.
VERY good carnitas!..BUT I gave it 4 stars becuz their carne asada fries had only "bits" of meat and a load of fries
It’s great food. Everything was delicious and the way I ordered. Tortillas wasn’t that great. But overall enjoy it our meal.
Party of 15...food was delicious. Very impressed with the flavor of the food, the portion size, and quality. The drinks are large and have an even ratio. Big shout out to our server who took on our large party and was on top of it. Consistently checking on us, he was attentive to our needs, very courteous, and the wait for our meals was quick. Been to other restaurants with a party of six and the wait was an hour. The only thing was the patio area is cramped between tables.
Carnitas are the best, do NOT order seafood though, we ordered diferent dishes like the aguachile negro, tostada loca and the seafood plater. portions were very small with no flavor. Very disappointed.
Awful experience. I ordered a dozen oysters, and the server duped me into paying $80 for them because he split them into two orders of six, and then added a huge charge for ceviche on half of them - all of this he did not tell me would be an upcharge. I'm a service industry veteran and that is absolutely not how you upsell, and it's entirely void of integrity. I asked him about it when he brought me the check and he just played dumb. I was on vacation and this ruined my spending for the trip. The oysters were terrible quality, too. Perfect example of a rookie server taking advantage of guests.
We went on a Sunday mid morning and because we didn’t speak Spanish, the female waitress refused us service and made a younger male kid take care of other customers but because of the lack of customer service we left. We waited for 45 mins and didn’t even get a drink .
I ordered a burrito here, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The meat had a strange smell, almost like lard, which made it unappetizing, and I couldn’t finish it. The chips, however, were fresh and tasty, and I ended up filling up on those instead. Service was friendly and attentive — our waiter was alert and helpful throughout — but the water glasses weren’t clean, which was disappointing. In the end, I had to leave most of the burrito and grab something else to eat later while shopping at Costco.
The waiter (short man with tattoos) was super rude and seemed bothered to serve me and my husband as soon as we walked in. The lady preparing the food was really sweet but guy needs an attitude check. Food was good!
