Snooze La Jolla Reviews
Had a great morning and breakfast at snooze in La Jolla. Emma was serving for us and she has the best personality!!!!! She gave us so many great recommendations and consistently checked in on us! We have not had hospitality like that in awhile! She needs a raise!!!! Will be back just for her!
My hiking group did a special trip to Poway’s Potato Chip Rock. The long trail is hard and it took us a lot more time than expected. We got to Snooze at around 3:15pm 15 minutes away from the restaurant closing. The staff was extremely accommodating and welcoming despite them being almost ready to close. Courtney was our waiter, she was patient, clear and super nice. We were all extremely hungry and the food was delicious, they ended up gifting us a Pear pancake (the pancake of the month) which of course was delicious. Thank you to the entire Sunday staff, everyone was impressed and I am sure you gained a ton of new regulars.
Really solid breakfast place with creative drinks and gluten-free options! Not too expensive and definitely worth a stop even though it's a chain. I really liked the OMG French Toast, it was a unique flavor profile and the quantity was pretty generous. The Honey Oat Milk latte was not too sweet but really tasty too.
Tremendous food. We came with a big party. The kids were very happy with pancake options, and each adult has a great meal. Highly recommend the breakfast fried rice, and the shrimp and grits. They were both really cool takes on traditional dishes made for breakfast. Melissa recommended the hollandaise pick 2... She was so right. The only thing I didn't like about this place was the volume. But that happens when you have a really great restaurant - people pack the place.
My husband and I were hungry for a good, hot breakfast after traveling to San Diego all day the day before. We read the menu and reviews and decided Snooze was the place to go! We were not disappointed! What a wonderful breakfast! My husband and I both ordered the Snooze Classic breakfast with three eggs, bacon, whole wheat toast, and hash browns. We loved that our eggs were cage-free and cooked to perfection. The type of wheat bread used for the toast was delightful, and the hash browns were flavorful. Our coffee was also good, and our waitress kept our cups full.
Loved this place. Had a few options to choose from for breakfast you won't usually find at other places. Certain dishes felt healthy, while the others jus were jus straight up good! Great pancakes, biscuits and gravy, grits and service. Go ahead....make your way to Snooze. So good!
I ordered the Snooze Classic with three scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fresh fruit versus hash browns, and sourdough for my toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly with no browning from overcooking. The bacon was crispy and not burnt. Delicious bacon! There was a very good variety of fruit. I couldn’t pass on getting the sourdough and I wasn’t disappointed. Great flavor! I received friendly service. This restaurant has a happy vibe to it.
Snooze is exactly what it says: an eatery. If you know what to expect - great service, big portions, solid, delicious breakfast food, but also a loud, high-energy, diner-style atmosphere with a fast-food feel - you’ll enjoy it. The staff is very friendly and quick, the menu is fun, and the place is super kid-friendly. Just don’t come looking for an elevated brunch experience or a relaxed, uplifting ambiance - it’s not that kind of place.
Loved the food here! Super fresh, creative combinations, so flavorful!! We were outside on the patio, had the garden omelet and the habanero pork belly benefict. Had fresh grapefruit juice and a lavender latte. All excellent!! I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back! Adam was our server, and he was helpful and excellent!!
Food was pretty good; surprisingly the biscuits and gravy was a favorite. The other dishes were good, but didn't knock my socks off. We'll have to come back and check out other items. Service was excellent. Their advanced check in was well run and we got in much earlier than expected. Really liked the atmosphere.
We went to Snooze on a vacation trip to SD. This location is in a mall with easy parking. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Benny duo (one smashed avocado, one barbacoa chile verde), the habanero pork belly breakfast fried rice, and the OMG french toast. The food was good and came at the same time. One hiccup during our visit was that we found hair in one of our benedicts, but our waitress Natasha and the manager were very professional, compassionate, and comped half of our Benny and the French toast. Staff and management who really care about their customers is refreshing to see. Would definitely recommend this particular location to anybody in the area who wants good food and even better service.
I really enjoy starting my day with a delicious breakfast at Snooze! The atmosphere is always vibrant, and the menu is packed with mouthwatering options. I used to frequent the Del Mar location, which was my absolute favorite due to its cozy vibe and friendly staff. Unfortunately, they had to close down after the lease ended because of rising rental costs. Thankfully, I can still get my breakfast fix at the La Jolla location and it's s always a treat to visit!
Our favorite brunch spot in SD! Service was awesome as usual. One of us decided to go “lighter” (new year’s and all) and tried the protein and veggie egg white scramble (so tasty!!) and the other felt slightly guilty and went with the crab and asparagus omelet with egg whites (amazing). The young one went with French toast, and that was so good, we had to get a half order of French toast neat (with berries and marscapone) (not pictured to protect the guilty) to balance it all out. So yeah, pretty delicious and worth the circling for parking.
We went to Snooze for brunch, it was decent. Nothing mind blowing on the menu, but solid for a casual, easy spot when you just want sth convenient. Vibes were good thou.
Snooze A.M. Eatery has a lovely location and a big menu ranging from Benedicts to pancakes. The garden omelette was delicious, and while the breakfast burrito wasn’t quite to my personal taste, my sister absolutely loved it, so I wouldn’t say it’s bad at all—just not my preference and a bit bland maybe. Their coffee is fantastic and makes the perfect addition to any breakfast. This visit, they were offering their limited-time “Maple Doodle” pancakes, and wow… they completely stole the show. The pancakes were light, airy, and fluffy, with white chocolate chips in the batter. They were topped with a cinnamon-brown sugar glaze, caramelized pecans, and served with a side of cinnamon-infused butter that was absolutely to die for. The cinnamon and brown sugar were perfectly balanced, and every bite felt like dessert for breakfast—in the best way possible. Their service overall wasn’t particularly memorable, but I do want to highlight a really nice gesture—they offered to take the burrito off my bill after I mentioned I didn’t enjoy it, which I appreciated. I ended up taking it for my sister, but the thoughtfulness stood out. All in all, I’ll absolutely be returning—especially for those heavenly pancakes. Don’t miss them!
As a local, I have visited Snooze many times, and this time I came with my parents. The food and ambiance were excellent, as always. However, the staff member who took our order was somewhat rude. It would be appreciated if they could check with customers to see if they need anything else before presenting the check, rather than assuming they are ready for it. We were not ready at that moment. I kindly request that more respect be shown to customers.
The service was ok and the food overall was good. My sister got the Ham Benedict III* and enjoyed it. I had the Smashed Avocado Benny* and I liked it for the most part, but the avocado didn’t taste fresh. It had a pureed texture and a strong lemony flavor, kind of like store bought guac, which was disappointing since the menu says “fresh smashed avocado.” The Benedict itself was still good though. I also ordered the hot chocolate. The presentation was nice, but it didn’t have flavor which was disappointing. Hash browns were okay. I got a side of bacon that wasn’t as crispy as I like (I forgot to mention it, but I feel like bacon should come out all crispy by default). Overall, not a bad experience, but if we’re in the area again, we’d probably check out a different breakfast spot.
Had high hopes based off reviews, but we will not be back. Staff was polite, but the service was horrible. Food was average. Staff: Waiter took a while to get to us, for our drink order. Once we got our orders in and we got drinks, our food did take a while. I finished my cup of coffee and my mug sat there empty for the whole time. Waiter did not return to check on us despite the long wait. A different waiter brought our food and I asked him for more coffee. When he finally came to refill my cup, he started walking off without refilling my wife's coffee, or even asking if she wanted more. We had to stop him as he walked away to ask him to fill her coffee as well. When the server dropped the food, they did not ask if we needed any condiments either. Food: Half of our dishes arrived cold. I ordered eggs Benedict and as seen in the photos, the eggs were over cooked. I basically got hard boiled eggs. Flavors on the dishes were ok, but nothing to rave about. Best part was the presentation of the dishes. Price: I'd say the price was fair for the dishes ordered. Overall: A disappointing experience and not a place I would go back to. The staff was not rude by any means, but they lacked greatly in the "service" portion of their job.
