I am very particular when it comes to authentic Chinese cuisine, and I have found a place that not only satisfies my appetite, but leaves me constantly wanting to come back for more and more. Not only is the food amazing but it is fresh, high-quality And seasoned to perfection. The icing on the cake is the stellar service.
If you’re looking for an authentic Chinese noodle and dumpling spot, this place is an absolute gem. The Beef Golden Noodle Soup is an absolute must-try—rich, flavorful, and comforting without feeling heavy. Every dish I’ve tried has been incredible, from the handmade dumplings to the perfectly balanced broths. Beyond the food, the owners and employees truly make this place special. They’re so welcoming, friendly, and eager to help you find the perfect dish. You can tell they put real care into everything they serve. And the best part? The food is fresh and healthy, leaving you satisfied but never weighed down. If you love authentic Chinese flavors and a warm, inviting atmosphere, don’t hesitate—this spot is a must-visit!
This place is such a gem. I don't know why more people don't eat here. It has everything you are LOC'ing for. It's super clean, the spicy wontons are so yummy, the garlic eggplant was so good the pan fried xlb... it's all yummy.
I ordered seafood fried noodles , spicy wontons , juicy pork XLB & pan seared XLB. Everything was delicious!!! I will say that the juicy pork XLB just lacked a little in flavor but it could be just comparison to the flavor packed dishes we ordered! The service was pretty quick and the atmosphere feels like a mom n pop shop! Wish they played some light music just for vibes. But overall very yummy!! For two people with four dishes total came out to $78 with tip included ! Slightly pricey but it’s worth the meal 🥟
Just tried it here today for the first time. First of all, let me say how nice the servers were. They were so sweet. They remodeled the whole restaurant which used to be another place, and it looks so nice. On the table they have soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil. The chili oil is so delicious. It has a really good taste to it. We got the sauteed green beans, the pan fried dumplings, the soup dumplings, the dan dan noodles and the spicy dumplings. All were delish.
Tried this place for the first based on friend’s recommendations. We ordered the juicy pork dumplings, crispy chicken and the sweet & sour soup. The flavor of all these dishes were excellent. The turnaround from electronic ordering to table was exceptionally fast and the prices reasonable. We will definitely come back here and try some of the other menu items.

Din Tai Fung without the wait! 😋💗🥟🍲
Definitely recommend the curry chicken noodles!
Tasty food. Like noodle soups.
amazing in every way
This place is honestly the most DELICIOUS place I’ve gone too! Me and my partner go here so much cause it’s amazing!! The price is great for the quality and just a yummy meal🤭🙏🏻 THANK YOU LOC!!
We loved it. Food was fresh and flavorful this was our first time ordering. We would love to try other dumplings and entrees. Yummy dessert buns.
The staff is very kind and the food is excellent. The eggplant is a stand out dish. Even my son who doesn’t like veggies absolutely loves it.
Love the dumplings and hot & sour soup is my favorite!!
Super friendly staff and a great spot for families. Oh, and the food is amazing. Their beef wrap is the best I’ve found in SoCal. They’ve only been open a month now but we will be regulars for years to come.
Traditional noodle spot, loved the cumin beef. Spectacular flavors with a bit of heat
Food is really good.. best Chinese dumpling in missions Viejo....if you want better you got to travel to Irvine or Costa Mesa.. I really glad I have something this good near me... 😂 I am not the owner even though the restaurant and I have the same name ..that is the funny part 😂
We have done both take out and dine in and the food and service have been incredible. We have tried many of the dishes and every single one has been delicious.
Delicious! More authentic Chinese food than the local fare. Highly recommend the pineapple chicken and the cumin beef
Delicious food, amazing service with very friendly staff, and definitely love the vibes of this new dumpling place in Ladera Ranch. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Excellent food and great expertise. We love the spicy wontons sooooo much!
My first time trying and it was delicious! Thank god we have some authentic flavors in this area.
A local chinese restaurant that isnt panda express! Great food, will definitely be coming back.
Live the authentic Chinese cuisine.
Finally, really great chinese food so close to home!
Best Chinese in South OC. Piping hot, simple, and not oily at all.
Very good Chinese restaurant
Great food at a great price
Great place for dumplings and Chinese dishes.
Fantastic dumplings!! Great addition to Ladera Ranch
Love coming here!
We just had dinner here today with our 3 year old and we absolutely loved it. Dumplings and fried calamari was a huge hit with our kid. We loved them as well. We also tried Thai curry chicken noodle and green beans, both were amazing!!! We will be back for usee.
Very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It was desperately needed in Ladera. Whatever wrapping they're using for their dumplings is very high quality. All the tastes are authentic and there's quite a bit of variety on their menu. Will definitely be coming back.
We had take out. It was prepared quickly and ready to go when we showed up. We were feeding six so we had a good selection of food to share. Everything was great and servings were generous so we will be enjoying leftovers for a while. We will be back next time we are in California.
My family and I recently discovered this restaurant in our neighborhood and have been back four times in less than a week! The interior is spacious and clean, and the owner is a friendly face. What I like about their beef noodle soup is that the soup isn't too salty and has a rich meaty flavor. It makes for a wonderful and satisfying dinner meal, in addition to side dishes of popcorn chicken (juicy and well seasoned) and scallion pancakes (flaky, fresh, and crispy). I also order their chicken pineapple fried rice which includes mushrooms, baby corn, and cucumbers. Everything is fresh, lightly flavored in a way that's not plain but enhances the individual ingredients, and hot when it gets to the table. Compared to many other Chinese restaurants we've tried in the area, this place is one of the best for sure!
This place is the best! They have incredible food, wonderful service, and clean environment. The green beans are to die for. You’re missing out if you haven’t tried LOC
Absolutely delicious food! Everything was fresh and incredibly good. We got both the pork and beef dumplings - so tasty. We also got veggie fried rice and golden soup noodles, and everything was stupendous. Really loved this spot. Everything was fantastic, and it also looks gorgeous inside. Loved the decor and setup almost as much as the food! Thank you for all the wonderful food!
I've only tried a couple of dishes, but they were really good. There aren't many Asian restaurants in south OC with flavor like they have here. I got the pork soup dumplings and chicken fried noodles. The flavor on the soup dumplings was really good. The noodles were really good also. You could definitely taste the garlic and the hot wok flavor. The restaurant itself is decorated nicely, it looks very modern. The staff were all friendly also. It's cool to be able to see into the kitchen. I look forward to coming back and trying some more of their dishes.
The food here was great. The customer service was amazing . It was soo good we cleaned out plates . The best thing was the price as well. You won’t get charged an arm and leg for delicious food. I would recommend the beef golden noodle soup. We talked to the waiter and he mention the broth is cooked all day long
Beef cake was amazing. Dumplings were the best I have had in a long time and I do not remember what they were called but the spicy wontons were freakin delicious! Pineapple chicken fried rice was the perfect complement with everything we ordered. Coming back and bringing friends with us.

After my daughter’s basketball game, we were all ready for dinner—and LOC Noodle & Dumpling Bar was just an 8-minute drive away. The restaurant is clean and family-friendly. We had five people at our table and ordered the following: • Signature Juicy Pork Xiao Long Bao(招牌鮮肉小籠包)– $13.75 • Signature Pan-Fried Xiao Long Bao(招牌生煎包)-$14.5 • Spicy Wontons(紅油抄手)– $13.75 • Beef Roll(牛肉捲餅)– $12.99 • Beef Noodle Soup(清湯牛肉麵)– $14.75 • Beef Fried Noodle(牛肉炒麵)– $14.75 My son especially liked the beef noodle soup, and the spicy wontons weren’t spicy—so everyone could enjoy them. Other food items were just fine. Just give it a try if you’re nearby.
Pineapple chicken was crispy and delicious. Dumplings were great and filling. Shrimp fried Noodles were also delicious and feeds at least 2 people. Thai tea was tasty and not too sweet compared to most other places. The custard dumplings were yummy and adorable!

Got 4 dishes. The Dandan noodles were bland but good. The pork dumplings were good. The pineapple chicken was okay, I thought the chicken chunks were too big. The wonton soup was so insanely salty that we could barely eat it. Even taking the wontons out to eat own did not make it okay. I'll try the place again but my first visit wasn't good.
The chicken fried noodle was a little too salty, and the pork soup bao had a licorice type flavor that i did not enjoy. I recommend the wonton soup though, it was very good.
Food is okay. The soup dumplings were bland lacking flavor. The eggplants were too greasy and salty. The sauerkraut beef noodle soup was good but the meat is chewy. The bathroom is not well equipped. The hand soup is out and the toilet paper roll is just placed on top of the handicapped handle. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend.
Saw a post about LOC Noodles and went out of the way down to Ladera Ranch to try it out. Food is okay. I would say better than Panda Express but for authentic Chinese, it is just okay. You can definitely get much better in Irvine. Since Ladera Ranch doesn't have many great Chinese options, LOC would definitely be the choice. Service isn't great though. I walked in and 3 employees sitting nearby saw me waiting and didn't even bother to greet or ask me about seating. Seems like the folks who run this place don't know how to run a restaurant.

Unfortunately, I really wanted to like this place. However, the food is meh. The pineapple chicken was overdone, tough, hard, and dry inside. It must've been old and had a previously frozen taste to it. The dumplings, let's just say I've had way better. My first time experience was a disappointing one. I won't be back...
Food was average, my issue was no one cleaned any of the tables next to us. It wasn't busy just us and one other person
Food came out cold. Not very tasty either
My husband and I were headed back home from a long day out and wanted quick food we hadn't tried before. We walked in around 7pm this past Sunday and the employees were hanging around the table chatting. We ordered the custard buns, garlic beef dumplings and spicy chicken entree and then went outside to wait 10m because it was dead inside and we felt like they were trying to close up. After 15m we checked on our food that was sitting there. Dumplings were great. Custard buns (3 for $11) were ok. Spicy chicken was awful. Tiny bits of dry seasoned chicken overly fried and breaded with equally bad fries. We were too hungry to actually read everything and didn't know it came with fries. $20 for an entree with no noodles/rice/veggies. The portion was small and of what we received we ate half because we couldn't stomach the dried bits. Since the only experience that was great was the dumplings we probably won't be back because there wasnt enough enjoyment in the rest of the food.
We had the stir fried string bean。They are really tough and not edible。Mentioned that to the young cashier and she just apologized and not offer any cancellation or replacement。 Also, the issue with the stir fried green bean complaint happened at the end of January,2026。
Our first visit to LOC was a take out order of 3 items: Garlic Eggplant, Shumai and Wonton Noodle Soup. The only really good item was the Garlic Eggplant, although it was very oily. The Wonton Noodle Soup was very disappointing. The wonton dumplings were good but the broth was cloudy and tasted like it was made from a powdered mix and overall it looked absolutely nothing like the photo on the menu — no vegetables at all and all noodles. But the real tragedy was the Shumai (AKA Siu Mai). I have ordered Siu Mai every time I have dim sum, for close to 60 years, and the very traditional dish is an open face dumpling filled with a mixture of ground pork, ground shrimp, mushrooms, water chestnuts and spices. The version of “Shumai” served at this place is filed with RICE and only rice, no meat at all. It was heartbreaking and downright insulting to customers who think they’re getting an authentic Siu Mai and are presented with tasteless balls of rice stuffed into a wrapper. And since we love real Siu Mai so much, we got two orders of the rice-filled imposters only to be hugely disappointed when we got home and inspected what we actually paid for! Needless to say, I would never return to this restaurant and do not recommend it to anyone.
So. I don’t really know where everyone who is actively enjoying this experience here are getting their tastebuds but this establishment left me disappointed. Upon entry this place smelled as if the bathroom was left wide open. We were greeted to and attended to very promptly and everyone was nice. The atmosphere would be 5 stars if not for the fact that the bathroom smell lingered the entire time there. I ordered the popcorn chicken, the special pork baos, beef noodle soup, and the chocolate buns. The beef noodle soup came out first, with three pieces of beef (sliced very thin), two pieces of bok choy(not fully cooked through), flavorless noodles and some murk broth. This dish needed some salt, (which was not available on the table) and the only thing that could be tasted was the chili oil you had to pour into this dish. I got the popcorn chicken and it smelled so strong, almost as if they wanted to mask the taste with the smell. It was dry inside, lacked flavor other than the sauce they pour all over it, and was tasteless. The Baos came out almost room temperature and were about the average size of other places. Upon trying them, they tasted as if they were just microwaved. I would have been better off grabbing some from the local Trader Joes and heating them up myself. Out of the 7 or so they gave us, we only ate three, leaving the rest. Ultimately the chocolate buns seemed like the only thing that was truly “homemade”. They were very hot, sticky, and oozed the chocolate sauce inside. The bao itself didn’t taste like much, and the chocolate sauce inside tasted like dollar store dark chocolate and was very bitter, and not a good dark chocolate bitterness. The Thai iced tea was reviewed previously and was said to be “not too sweet”. I would say the initial sip had that “not too sweet” taste and the rest tasted as if it was a pure aftertaste of the tea, almost if they just dyed the water orange. Overall the experience left me sad because we shelled out around $75~ dollars for tasteless food, having to pay and add tip before getting the food. P.S. don’t touch the chili oil bottles, they’re very sticky and make sure to look at the soy sauce bottles closely, they reuse some bottles and out vinegar inside instead of soy sauce.

Water was amazing, food sucked.
Closed on Tuesdays
It’s always closed now! I used to like it a lot but it seems to have been closed for weeks - plus it allows you to order online and then cancels it an hour later…
I ordered the wonton noodle soup. I was really disappointed. The soup flavor was awful and looked like dirty dish water. The noodles were overcooked and had a weird texture. Definitely not the firm egg noodles I was expecting. It also took longer than normal to prepare. There were only 2 other tables and they had already gotten their food. Usually Chinese restaurants get the food out quickly. This place is kinda slow. Probably wouldn't come back to try something else. Probably will stick to Sunny Dumpling House where I know the food is great.
Don’t believe the fake good reviews. Worst tasting food I ever had and servers were rude and rolling their eyes. Soup broth of the wonton soup tasted like dirty water it was such a weird flavor. Noodles were terrible. Nothing tasted authentic. Do not compare these to the good restaurants in Irvine and Costa Mesa. I couldn’t stomach to eat what I bought. Paid my bill and left the horrible food to go eat somewhere else. Don’t waste your money!
How in the world can this place have a 4.4 rating ..? I had high hopes for this place , being near us in Ladera Ranch . However, this was one of the worst Chinese restaurants I have visited in recent memory, and I’ve been to many Chinese restaurants all over the world. To keep this short..the noodle soup was the worst I ever had... the "beef" if you can call it that, was around 90% fat, and totally inedible. It looked like the type of lousy beef you could get at a terrible shabu-shabu restaurant. Needless to say, we ate none of the "beef" supplied in our soup. The hot and sour soup was not much better … it had so little ingredients in it, and mostly water. There was no tofu slices in the soup , and after 1 ladle put into each soup bowl, the rest was basically a brownish , sour liquid with a few pieces floating around in it. The Xi Lom Bao was so-so , and always tore open when we tried to lift them...we have had so much better than this. Overall, very sad , as we were looking forward to a good place for noodle soup, Xi Lom Bao, etc. nearby. But we will have to keep visiting Irvine, SC Plaza, etc.. for these dishes. We do not recommend this place , and will never return to it again for a meal.
Rude people work here. The hostess/server was exceptionally the worse. And on top of that the food was terrible. We’ll keep going to Irvine for high quality noodle house.
Nothing says welcome more than a dirty unserviced grease trap which smells like rotten eggs. That’s the smell that greeted us as we arrived. They did leave the doors open and that did reduce the smell. We figured we’d driven a long way to try this restaurant based on the rosy reviews we read but we should have run away at first whiff. We tried their signature soup dumplings which were ok but not anything amazing. Their take on the classic shumai relaxing the pork with rice and mushrooms was an insult to this iconic dim sum item. We decided we’d had enough and before we left we visited the restrooms. Overflowing trash can and. Dirty commodes in both the women’s and men’s restrooms told us all we needed to know about this grossly overrated nightmare. Orange County has many top tier Asian restaurants. This is not one of them.
