Pizza Antica Lafayette Reviews
We really liked this place. The pizza 🍕 is very tasty and the crust is crunchy 😋. We were looking for a pizza place that had Italian like pizza and this place did not disappoint. The gnocchi was surprisingly good also with a unique sauce. We recommend this place if you are looking for that Italian pizza that you can't find in the Bay Area!
Probably the best Neopolitan style (my fav) pizza around, but they under cook it a bit. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame them for undercooking because most people in Lafayette would complain it was burned if it had proper char and leoparding. Just tell them to char it when you order and it will be money! Buon appetito!
At Pizza Antica you will have outstanding service, great quality food. We are again and again impressed with the customer service, it just makes going out or ordering for so worth it, and the food is always delicious, pizza, fried chicken, all amazing. Highly recommend Pizza Antica and a great thank you to staff.
A lovely little pizza place. They have great thin crust pizza, and a variety of menu options. It was an old pizza place before it was pizza antica. The bar has a nice pub friendly feel. Great wine selection, but two beers on tap only.
Amazing service. Delicious food. With 2 children under 5 it was the best and seamless meal ever. Thoughtful & immediate service. We had ciabatta french toast- yum. Also Bianca pizza with olives. My only complaint for the entire meal would be that the olives weren't spread evenly across the pizza. The flavor was absolutely delicious. Mmmm says my 2 year old. Dewectable says my 4 yr old. As we left my 2 year old son tried to eat a piece of pizza he had dropped on the floor, even though he was full. I see comments regarding speed. We were shocked at how quick everything was. We were there in a Saturday at lunch. Most of the tables were packed. Our waitress was very attentive.
Upscale Italian classic dishes in a nice space. I enjoy their wine selections, and the pizza and salads are also delicious. They are also very consistently good, since I've been a few times.
Delicious pizza, 🥗 salads. Service was excellent 👌 which was nice as they automatically add a 20% gratuity regardless of 1 or 21 guests at your table.
Was here with a church fellowship group. We had a good crowd here that night. This place has great service and excellent pizza. Another thing happened when we were here, at the time we saw the coach of the Oakland Raiders here, that was cool.
We just had the most amazing dining experience at the demure and understated Pizza Antica in Lafayette, CA. Our English/Italian speaking server Mandy brought us dish after dish of the sweetest freshly picked corn dishes on the seasonal menu: corn fritters (to die for), fresh burrata with bruschetta and roasted apricots (mamma mia!), chopped salad with bacon, tomatoes and sweet corn (perfettto with a glass of cold Riesling) and their wonderful wood-fired pizza. Oh and did I mention dessert?- delicate corn bread cake with fresh whip cream and juicy strawberries. Oh mio Dio! Thank you everyone at Pizza Antica for a Spectacular 4th of July Feast!!
Sat at the bar and our bartender Seth was awesome. Very pretty restaurant with good lighting, good music, good gourmet pizza. They have a lot of mixed in happy hour deals which is nice.
The Italian pizza combo restaurant is realized in this "Main Street" restaurant in Lafayette CA. The manager and the staff treated me and my group with respect. Props to Gregory. Try it out and let me know how it goes!!!
Such a great experience here. Everything we ordered was delicious, but honestly I could've skipped dinner and eaten the focaccia bread alone, it was so good. The cornmeal cake was also delish.
Pizza Antica has to be one of the two best places for pizza in Lafayette. It's real, Napolatano pizza with fresh salads, pastas and sides. The wine list is good. The tap is good. The kids always enjoy it. We come here time and again and are always so happy with both service and food. Well done, Pizza Antica!
Always a good experience. The pizzas are great, with an amazing chewy crust and rustic toppings. Their fried chicken is nice and crispy, with a spicy honey sauce, tasty mashed potatoes, and delicious fresh steamed peas.
Meatballs, gnocchi and a small Margherita pie made perfect lunch! Food was exceptional. The meatballs were juicy and served with an excellent sauce. The gnocchi are lightly fried in pesto, giving it a nice texture. The gnocchi sauce is out of this world. The dough on the pizza was great - crunchy yet airy. The dough is the most important component. Service was fantastic. Prices were fair. I come here every time I'm in Lafayette.
Super good pizza and full bar. Asparagus pizza blew me away. New favorite for sure.
Had the Caesar salad today and it was delicious and creamy. Then had the fried chicken plates, with the corn and mashed potato and it was very delicious. Great fried chicken and tasty sides. The affogato for dessert was very delicious as well.
I dont normally review a place I have only been to one time but Pizza Antica was some of the best pizza I have ever had. The store was clean and organized and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The pizzas are a 12 inch size and all the ones we tried were amazing. The corn pizza was by far a favorite by our party. I would recommend this a thousand times. We are new to the area and will go back again and again. It's in a great part of town as well with fun little shops and boutiques nearby I would recommend people to check out.
I took my family to this place for a nice lunch while looking to move to the area and I have to say we our expectations were exceeded. The food quality was amazing, they allowed us to make specific changes to our food, and everyone was so helpful and pleasant. I will be coming back more just to be able to taste their food again. 10/10
Fresh, delicious and original pizzas and appetizers. Great bar. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and great service. Very attentive to allergies! It’s one of the few pizza places that goes out of their way to accommodate.
So much to love about Pizza Antica: the service is excellent, best pizza, broccoli and cheese and the margarita. Best Cesar Salad anywhere. Great wine list and beers and Aperol Spritz. Lovely strawberry shortcake on a cornmeal cake. We all loved every bite including the 3 grandbabies. Thank you all.
Had such a great experience! All tables spaced out 6+ feet and the service was great. There’s ample parking and felt safe the whole time. All tables were cleaned thoroughly and the food was amazing! Get the summer corn pizza!
This is the best pizza. Just go and try it.
We had a delightful lunch Outdoors in their parklet patio area in front of the restaurant. We started with a delightful appetizer, arancini, an Italian deep fried, reservable stuffed with a meat and vegetable filling similar to a beef Ragu. We followed this with a fennel sausage pizza and a brussel sprout salad. I can't say enough how about the excellent service and fine food! Giving it five stars is the best I can do.
Solid spot for family dinner. We love their appetizers, fried chicken, pizzas and salads. Our kids are happy with the spaghetti, plain noodles, or cheese pizza. And parents are happy with the wine and full bar!
The food was tasty and the location is very cental and convenient. I was very impressed with the service from our waitress and all other staff we interacted with. The pizza melts in your mouth and I would highly recommend the burrata appetizer. This restaurant has an extensive wine list.
This restaurant has evolved over the past two years (or so) from average to outstanding. The food, wine pairings, craft cocktails and service are all five star. I would recommend the meatball appetizer and either papardelle or gnocchi for the main course. It may be upsetting to some that the tip is built in as a service charge but I tip 20-25% anyway. Also, if that helps attract and retain the good servers that they have, great!
Dog friendly place that we love to go to! Great ambiance and lovely food!
Just had a marhgerita here and it might have been the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. The sauce was vibrant and full of life and everything about it was just simple and delicious
I don't have enough words to describe how our family loves pizza from this restaraunt. The atmosphere is cozy, sometimes too loud in popular time, but staff is very friendly. Potato pizza is my favorite and the best ever! Drinks fom the bar are very nica as well.
Really enjoyed this place. Pizza is fairly good. Not totally thin crust but not the usual thick stuff either. The service is good in pleasant. It's a little bit pricier than average but not that bad in terms of value for the dollar.
One of my favorite places to go post rehearsal or performance out in Lafayette. Love there Spaghettini or Margarita pizza, Young field greens salad is good too but their affogato is literally heaven on earth! Staff is always very friendly, helpful and on the ball! The space is inviting, clean and minimalistic. Casual, easy to find and located in the downtown area. It is definitely a little pricey, but worth it every once in a while.
This review is not for the restaurant but I had to post a review. I just bought a frozen margarita pizza in Ladera at Bianchi’s market and OMFG! I just came back from the Napoli Bay in Italy and the way the mozzarella melted into the crust has me shook. I think this is the best pizza I’ve ever had.
Have been to this place countless times now and have always had a good experience. The salads are really good. The pizza options are amazing and not greasy or heavy. My personal favorite is the fennel sausage pizza. Even got my mom to love the pizzas at this place!!!! Definite must try. And great wine collection too...
Excellent pizza, you can tell by the dough- we were fighting over the crust. Definitely will be back
Love love love their heirloom potato pizza! Anyone who loves the truffle flavour must try this. Their focassia is also amazing. They also get some great seasonal pizzas and pastas.
Went there today for an early dinner with a social group. The place was a little noisy but tolerable. We each got a different kind of pizza and shared a caesar salad. Everything was great. I had the sweet corn and I am glad I did because I had never seen a pizza with corn before. The waiter was very friendly. Would definitely go back again.
One of our favorite places in Northern California! The food is always as delicious as the first day! The pizza is simply amazing!
Pizza Antica in Lafayette is a gem. The atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon, with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and efficient, especially the hostess who helped me with my DoorDash pickup. The pizza itself was good, though the thin crust meant it cooled down quickly—it might just be how thin the crust is! Overall, it was a great experience and a place I recommend.
Very clean place and nice decor. We stayed inside since there was a lot of space for the baby. Staff was friendly, and hired students (which is great) that seemed to be trained well, although took awhile to get the check. Pizzas like always were amazing, with a good crust from their piping hot ovens. We had the fennel sausage pizza and white potato pizza which balanced well. I thought the Caesar salad was lacking considering it cost almost the same as the pizzas. Foccacia was tasty especially with the ksa beer. Really would give it a 4.5 stars but I'll round up. The setup and the cleanliness, and nice atmosphere really adds to the experience.
Burrata was quite good, it came with a big piece of (you guessed it) Burrata along with pesto and 4 pieces of toast. Both the fennel and potato pizzas were good, sauceless pies. On a summer weekday evening, there’s plenty of spots available indoors since most patrons opted for outdoor seating.
I've eaten here several times and like coming back. The pizzas are very tasty. They are Napoli-style pizzas with an uneven, soft rim. The doe is delicious. The kale salad was flavorful. The Tiramisu for dessert was surpsingly large. Friendly and fast service.
This has to be our favorite pizza place in Contra Costa. We've been to countless others, and none come close to the flavor of anything offered. To top it off, the current COVID service and outdoor dining experience is among the best. We ordered the Margherita Pizza and the Fennel Sausage, along with a couple drafts of Ghost Town IPA. Both pizza we're delicious, there's something about a wood-fired pizza that you simply can't go wrong with. Our server was nice enough to mention the Fennel Sausage doesn't come with red sauce but we could add it if we desired. We kept it the way they intended it and were SO glad we did, as it was phenomenal. Happy to recommend this establishment to anyone! Our one and only gripe was that the "20% living wage/health insurance service fee" (in lieu of tip) was taxed along with our food and drinks. I'm all for paying this to a restaurant to ensure everyone working there is taken care of, I just think it should have been added after the total bill. Not enough to lose a star though, as we'll be back here as often as life allows.

Wow, Mushroom pizza and potato pizza was the closest. I’ve got to Italy so far. Our waitress Jules was excellent. We had an issue w gift card and Seth and Ryan cleared it up quickly. Kudos to this place!
This place's menu has been a highlight for me over the years! I'm a little bitter they took calamari off the menu 6(?) years ago but I still make this my go-to spot for birthdays and anniversaries! the gnocchi is easily the best dish on the menu for me along with the potato pizza! they also don't do reservations which honestly can be a plus, there's usually not too long a wait!
I've been coming to PIzza Antica since I was a kid when they opened. Now I am in my 30s and only get to come when visiting family im Lafayette, and WOW - they never cease to amaze and satisfy! The salads are exceptional, our favorites being the house greens and the arugula. Our favorite pizza is the Fennel Sausage with gluten-free crust. (Yes, they have gluten-free crust, and it's amazing! My dad eats gluten and likes the GF crust even more.) My favorite meal overall: the arugula or house salad on gluten-free Piadini with grilled chicken. They have a full bar with craft cocktails and a robust wine list. It can get loud in here, but it's in a fun, authentic Italian pizza parlour kind of way. Highly HIGHLY recommend.

This is a great casual dining place. Their pizzas are great and we like to customize our pizza most times while there. Our 4 year old son really enjoys himself while there as they are kind enough to give him some pizza dough to play with while we are waiting for the food to arrive. Highly recommend
Parking tip- Busy location, tough parking on the street so park around the back. Field Work IPA, fresh keg, hence the head but excellent. Had fun with my wife and son at this location. Cannot go wrong with the pizza. Had the heirloom tomato pizza and my wife had the three cheeses pizza. Excellent pizza in general. We will be back to try the pasta soon. Busy and loud but a good spot for kids.
I would give this lovely place 5 stars if I weren't so disappointed in their portion sizes. I have gone there hungry and left hungry, so I must knock off a star. If all the rest weren't so good, I wouldn't hesitate to slay 2 or 3 stars. But to be fair I must say that they are wonderful in every single way except for the fact that the pizzas are so thin and so low calorie. They are merely a glorified appetizer. Maybe they are adequate for a waif, but I need at least a thousand calories at dinner to even sustain myself. I work hard and burn lots of calories. I would not be able to afford to properly feed myself here because I'd need to buy 2-3 of their pizzas, plus a salad to do it! But that said, if you don't particularly have a high metabolism like I do, you just may love this place. It's not cheap, but not too expensive, either. Inside, it does get very loud with all the other diners' chatter when they are full. I just don't like that I leave feeling hungry, then have to make myself something more to eat when I get home. But looking toward the bright side, probably their best asset is that their servers are top-notch. They are definitely among the best. It has always been a great time going there. Just not quite as fun as I wish it could be, if I weren't for my strong, healthy appetite.
Excellent service. Our 1st visit & the server Maureen gave us a complimentary vegan chocolate cake dessert. Nice atmosphere. Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks - Mexican Coke & the black currant lemonade were what we had. We had a marinara pizza & a margherita pizza - both were okay because the sauce was very little. Will likely try eating here again. They had an attractive menu of sides & salads, & a lunch special of salad & pasta. Parking was on the street & metered.
Well thought out small menu. Nice wine selection and a lively atmosphere. We ordered a few apps and the potato pizza with fennel sausage - really, really good. The food came out quick and our waiter was attentive throughout our time at Antica. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the 20% surcharge. Yes they let you know this ahead of time, but why not just trust your patrons to tip!
Years ago Pizza Antica fell off our dining-out rotation after we had two bad meals in a row here. There have been some changes since our last visit. A great change is the addition of the banquette and resulting wall between dining room and bar. Another change is the full bar. I'm not sure if that is good or bad. I've never wanted a cocktail in that environment. The not so great change is the shrinking menu. It feels like just handful of items now. Only one entree that isn't pasta. Only a few (5-6?) seasonal pizzas instead of the old 10-12 offerings. I thought of making my own but while all the seasonal pizzas have at least three items, my own 3 item pizza would have been more expensive than any pizza on the menu. The really good news is that my pizza, and the rest of our food, was delicious.
Staff is great, food is okay, but pricey! $8 for a bowl of pasta and butter for a kid is a bit much and my husband paid $9 (I think) to add salmon to his salad and it was not a very big piece. Sad to pay so much or food and leave hungry. Would possibly go back for drinks and hang out.
The pizza was delicious and fresh. We built it off a base they had on the menu. We ordered the strawberry arugula salad wth the Marguerite pizza. The salad could have had a little bit more venegratte and more cheese.

Their food is delicious peer. The service is pretty consistently good. For atmosphere, giving it a three - not that the place isn't a nice setting, but it's extremely loud and often filled with families and a bunch of small children who are allowed to run around and be rambunctious inside. The noise level isn't helped by the fact that the walls are brick and the floor is small tile.So there's no soundproofing. I have often been there with a friend, and we can't hear each other talk. So, if noisy restaurants bother you, this is not the right place. If that doesn't bother you, then they have very good pizza and salads.
I had pizza and a beer with a friend. The beer was cold and the pizza was hot. It tasted good too. It was busy so it was kinda loud and it was kinda expensive, but it's Lafayette.
Food was yummy. Great service. The crust was really yummy and the salad had nice flavors but ultimately, the pizza toppings weren’t as robust in flavor and (as my husband put it) “heft”. I think the crust was my favorite part. Worth trying if you’re in the mood for wood fired pizza but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Went to the Lafayette restaurant and had the best fried chicken ever. Next day husband wanted to try it so we went to Danville location. Wasn't nearly as good and for $20 and barely had any polenta on the plate. Oh well. Our server was nice.
Love the kids pizzas, so huge and can easily feed both my kids. The Cesar salad is awesome, however don’t get the artichoke hearts. Total rip off quantity and price.
Looks good, but food and service lacking. The Margerita pizza was uninspired, and the BLT salad was strangely flavorless. The friends I was with had the same comments about their salads. The waitress seemed like she’d rather have been somewhere else.
I used to LOVE this place but I don't go much anymore and will only go if I can sit outside. The interior has horrible acoustics and a wide open cafeteria feel instead of an attractive restaurant. Food is great but they must have raised their prices in the past year or so b/c it no longer seems to be the rare reasonably priced restaurant in Lafayette that it once was.
Good pizza. And a 20% service charge is a fine idea when getting table service, but we got charged even when picking up to go. Takeout shouldn't require service charge.
I was a regular customer here for a number of years, but only get to eat occasionally after moving out of the area. During our last visit home we decided to eat at one of our favorite places to eat back in the day. Either my memory has issues, or the food here has taken a turn for the worse. Some of the pizzas still bore a resemblance to what we remembered, but everything just seemed a little lackluster. Not bad, just not tasty. Only having one size for the pizza really confused us as well. We used to get one large and one app for the two of us. It seemed like the one size was closer to the smaller size pizzas from back in the day. As for service, our server was actually very nice! I remembered him from the last time we were here, and I received the great service I expected. The problem is that I didn't really receive *enthusiastic* service. It's almost like he was going through the motions without actually enjoying himself. It was a little off-putting. I will say though, the service was still very good, just void of any emotion or human connection. Lastly, and the reason for the three star review, is the 4% "living wage" surcharge added to our bill. I have no issue paying 4% more for their pizza, beer, or whatever I order there, but gall of calling it out on the bill is over the top. If you can't stay in business without paying your customers a living wage, then you don't deserve to stay in business. I wonder if there has been a change in management that prompted the waiter's lack of enthusiasm in our service. The beer selection is fine and the pizzas are okay. I ain't gonna give them 1 star when they have decent, bordering on good, food. But the management's attitude needs to change.
I have had their neapolitan-style pizza a couple times, before and during the time of Covid. The restaurant interior is classic pizza hall with black & white mosaic tile floor, which can make it a bit loud at times, but that's fine. The pizza crust has really good texture, and is generally without much flavor of its own. The tomato sauce was... meh, unremarkable. For me, those two things make up about 80% of what makes (can make) a pizza great. Unfortunately, there just was not enough in those first two to get me excited about coming back for a third try. So, in the end, it's just an 'ok' pizza at a significant price. It is unlikely that I will be back.
As someone new to living in Lafayette but having ate at wrote quite a lot of places here in the last 8 months this by far was the most disappointing. It wasn't the food but the service and the 20% service fee they charge you "unrelated to gratuity" we were seated fast but took at least 15 minutes before someone even came to our table and ask if we had been helped and looked at me confused. The food itself was good but service I am sorry to say for my first experience was not. How can you charge 20% service fee and expect people to also tip another 20% when the service was ... I'm sorry not even close to earning 20% it will be a while before I recommend anyone to come here. I would recommend Patxi's and Batch and Brine. For a date night it was over $100 for a Pizza, and Ginnoci and 2 drinks and the forced 20% service charge for 2 people and they conveniently leave that part out until they bring you the bill and stated that it's not related to gratuity.
Service was A+ but a bit too pricey for me. Three pizzas, 2 horderves, and 2 cocktails was over $100. Plus, they automatically added 20% tip which really was irritating since there was just my wife, daughter, and 2 grandkids. Prices are already outrageously high but, to top it off, the tip was added before the tax calculation. I know covid has been devastating to the restaurant industry but I consider this price gouging. How much do they think customers can afford? I won't be going back.
Pros: Very good food and excellent waiter service. Cons: Poor honoring of reservations. (See below) We had reservations for a group of 5 people and we told the wait was only going to be 20 minutes. After we came in, there were multiple groups that came in after us and many, as we overheard, did not have reservations. To make it short, we waited 1 hour and 10 minutes to be seated and that was after they seated everyone behind us that didn’t have reservations. This place doesn’t honor reservations when the place gets busy since they don’t know how to save tables for those who planned ahead. After complaining to them, they did give us all of our appetizers for free and the waiter was extra nice to us for what happened. All of the food we ordered were very good, especially their meatball appetizer and pizzas. Because they did very well in making up for cheating us out of our reservations I am giving them 3 stars, but they still shouldn’t have done what they did.
Yes, there is a 20% service charge. Deal with it, staff is expensive and lots of people don't tip. But it's a scam if as one reviewer said only part of it goes to the staff. $20 for a soggy, floppy margherita pizza is .... maybe reasonable if were more crispy. But $11 for a pint of beer is over the top. The plates and salads looked a little better.
Pizza is unique and it’s good, but not amazing. The thin crust is sometimes soggy when it’s not crispy enough, but usually it’s good. And the staff is very friendly. It’s pricey and now they’re automatically charging 20% gratuity for takeout, which seems a bit cheeky of them. During covid, while we don’t eat out, we have made an effort to get takeout regularly and we typically tip generously to support the local restos and servers. But, to automatically charge 20% for takeout on top of a bill that is generally priced high is over the top.
This used to be a favorite for us but based on our experience last night we don’t think we will be back. Everything we ordered (a salad, an appetizer and a pizza) were all soso and overpriced. Along with the mandatory 20% tip for what turned out to be subpar service made for a very disappointing experience.
I ordered the mushroom pizza gluten-free crust- very bland … no seasoning no garlic no onion no sauce very disappointed for $30 for one person …no drinks
For a small $22 I expected a higher quality pizza. We ordered the kale pesto which is a seasonal flavor. It was good but not good enough to come back. The crust was tough and it just wasn’t the best pizza I’ve had. Automatic 20% service fee was applied. The mint strawberry lemonade was good and my friend ordered two glasses of Riesling. The olives were surprisingly good.
Atmosphere is good with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service is quick and good. Food is not that great as you may expect because of the vibe, setting and prices. Cesar salad was literally two pieces of lettuce with dressing; pizza was saggy and very thin. And for all, expect a mandatory included 20% service charge to your bill. As a pizza place, it's overrated and pricy. For sure you can have much better pizza somewhere else.

Ok so we get to thw restaurant and then they seat us and have us wait 20 min before they even take our order then we wait another 30min for the appetizer and there was a hair in my ceaser salad. We did order the meatballs which were freash but rhen when the main course came my tortellini was greasy and the paste inside was old and they said it was freshly made today. As for my fiance he had the spaghetti with sausage and when we left hia was really sick so he got a bad case of food poisoning so no i do not reccommend this place at all .
Minus a few stars for the mandatory 20% service fee. To be fair, the hostess told us when we were seated. But, what is the fee paying for? Decent restaurants usually tell you--for example, it goes toward employee healthcare, or that the restaurant business is tough and without 20% more revenue they wouldn't be able to exist as a business. Is it just being pocketed by the folks who run the Pizza Antica chain? Note that fees like this may be illegal come July 1, 2024 when SB 478 becomes law, because you know, they're kind of deceptive. "California Attorney General Rob Bonta, who sponsored the bill, says the law prohibits 'fees in which a seller uses an artificially low headline price to attract a customer and usually either discloses additional required fees in smaller print or reveals additional unavoidable charges later in the buying process.'"
Cold pizza, overdressed cesar salad and $20 pasta with 4 half shrimp! Unfortunately terrible service as well at our latest visit! Server inattentive and almost rude. Served pizza which took 35 minutes after we were finished with our salads and was almost cold, we knew it was waiting for awhile f I really the pasta dishes to be prepared. Spoke with manager about lack of service and almost cold pizza, she confirmed she had seen the pizza waiting and asked if she could make us a fresh pizza. New pizza within 10 minutes was delicious, yet did not allow us to eat together due to lateness of pizza. $60 for two to eat dinner. No comp for service or lateness, coldness of pizza. Surprising the manager said she saw the pizza sitting there so long, yet still allowed the server serve it to us! And I did not even mention the children running around yelling like they were at a playground the entire time!
Good pizza but they change an extra 20% service fee on their orders, even if you pick up. If you're worried about how much you're making it or how much your workers make raise the prices on the food and be honest about why instead of adding extra fees.
Having lived in Italy for ten years my husband and I are rather picky about pizza. The setting of the restaurant is nice but the Pizza was not quite up to our expectations. Nothing beats Doppio Zero in Concord.
Food is great, a bit pricey but good quality. Service is bad because 1) the first waiter said that there is 20% tips already included in the menu (misleading because price doe not reflect it, we should add 20% on top of it). 2) the second waitress kept saying that she only get 10%, the restaurant gets the other 10%. Apprently, she wanted more. This is real bad and I will never come back because of these practices. Price should be final price + tax + optional tips, we should not be misleaded that price reflect tips, then it's additional 20% tips, then it's actually 10% tips and 10% restaurant surcharge.
We went for dinner with family, including small child. Ordered pizzas, salads, macaroni with tomato sauce, two rounds of beers and wines. Total spent over $300.00, the tip is automatically included. The food was less than average. Pizzas were small, about 10” round, very thin and very soggy, pale crust and the layer of cheese thin as a paper. I thought I was eating soggy cardboard. Salads were just ok, many leaves which are hard to catch with the fork with two sliced strawberries and some olive oil. Macaroni without any flavor, less than al dente, tough and hard to chew; poured over with a bit of water diluted red sauce. No condiments, such as shredded Parmigiano, red flakes pepper or olive oil with bread were offered. When requested, the waiter forgot to bring it. Very loud casual atmosphere with many children which is fine. However, food was lousy and too expensive. Do not recommend this place.
We've done takeout from Antica since pre-covid. It's been great pizza for a little extra cost. This past time we went they were stingy with the toppings ie the toppings were very very sparse. I love Antica and I love their pizza crust and method of cooking which hasn't changed over the years, but they could do a lot better with their toppings.
I used to come here alot , their staff was great food was amazing... but they have gone down hill in the past year...seems they have a large turn around in staff I never see the Same people anymore and the don't have the large/ small option pizza anymore it's just "one size fits all" kinda deal which doesn't make sense...they skimpy on the Bread they seem to give you the amount of people at your table which last time I had 4 and we got 3 peices??? Ugh...anyway yet prices go up and food gets less ..but inflation is expected I suppose.

Meatballs tasted like spaghetti-o Pizza was alright. Corn fritters were mushy and served warm. You'll be charged 20% gratuity automatically on your bill. Weird. It's just 3 of us.
Ordered pizza Last time for take out . They charge automatically 20% gratuity even for to go orders. I normally tip generously specially if I’m getting a good service . But mandatory 20% charge for take out orders ? Recommend get take out orders or delivery thru Door-dash . A lot cheaper
Served the wrong food to me. I do not consume certain type of food and brought another person's dish. By the time I realized it was not eating what ordered i already ate a slice. Very disappointing. Will never come here again.
We ordered pizza and told them that we would pick up 45 minutes from call time. Over the phone, they said a pizza would be $18. We get there to pick it up and the pizza was cold. Plus they said we actually owed $23 because of their 20% gratuity fee. Sorry, but why am I paying an extra $5 for cold pizza?
Update 2: Still infested with rats and roaches. Does management even care about this business? Sure seems like they are only interested in sitting around and eating while the rest of the staff look like they are ready to either kill themselves or everyone in the building. They really seem to be pushing themselves over an edge at this establishment. I get it restaurants are a lot of work. What I've seen here is really a case of negligence. Leadership is out of touch and so the whole restaurant is suffering. The future of Pizza Antica appears grim. Update: This restaurant has rats and cockroaches. It's infested. Witnessed a rat run into the back of the restaurant and into a hole in the wall. Have seen cockroaches and other insects too. Management just hides the problem. Health Department needs to do a thorough inspection of this place. I wish I didn't have to look up the hours for this business to remember what time they close. I'm the type of person who hates putting an undue burden on service workers. They don't deserve to be forced to stay super late because of one tables lack of awareness. Having your hours posted on the door is just establishing boundaries. It's not rude to do so. It's a perfectly legitimate move to make as a business. Especially if you don't want to waste money on unneeded labor. The food is great. Recommend trying your next salad with a piadina and some fried chicken. The combo makes for an awesome salad wrap. The service is great. The staff are cool. The only reason for 3 stars is cause I got there around 7:45 and didn't find out until after we left that they actually close at 8 pm on weeknights. I would have gotten my food to go if I had known. Again, I hate being that last person in the restaurant, and since I didn't remember the hours from when I looked online, I didn't have a backup indicator to let me know. I've overstayed my welcome. It really shouldn't be outrageous to post an open/closed sign and the business hours. Honest people appreciate those things.
The service was not very good. I was informed of an additional 20% fee on top of my expensive meal. The gluten free crust was bland and cold. Nowhere on the menu did it list a $4.00 charge for a few measly pieces of chicken. I wanted a cheese pizza with chicken. What I got was cold crust with cold marinara sauce with a few small pieces of balled cheese with a few pieces of cold chicken thrown on top. What I thought was going to be a $23 meal cost over $35. Then on top of it the check leaves a space for a tip. The waitress asked how it was and I told her okay. I ate it all because I was hungry and it was a mini sized pizza. She apologized for my not liking pizza, but then gave me an outrageous bill. I did not leave a tip and will never eat there again.
Way over priced for what you get. Only have personal size pizzas, so you really can’t order for a family. Also, ordered the Apple salad and it was $16 for two handfuls of arugula a few apple chunks and a dusting of cheese. Got a pepperoni pizza and there are sparse pieces of pepperoni. I recommend going somewhere else.

Incredibly overpriced for a GF pizza thats the size of a frisbee. If the pizza tasted somewhat decent, I wouldn’t be writing this review. The exact same GF pizza is sold at many other pizzeria’s for a more reasonable price. Save the wallet, much better off with a frozen GF pizza from TJs or any other grocery store.
